Taa-Haa

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ طه

Taa-Haa

Ta. Ha.

طٰہٰ۔

مَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِتَشْقَىٰٓ

Maaa anzalnaa 'alaikal Qur-aana litashqaaa

We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed,

اس واسطے نہیں اتارا ہم نے تجھ پر قرآن کہ تو محنت میں پڑے

إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةًۭ لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ

Illaa tazkiratal limany yakshaa

But as a reminder unto him who feareth,

مگر نصیحت کے واسطے اُسکی جو ڈرتا ہے [۱]

تَنزِيلًۭا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلْعُلَى

Tanzeelam mimman khalaqal arda was samaawaatil 'ulaa

A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens,

اتارا ہوا ہے اُس کا جس نے بنائی زمین اور آسمان اونچے [۲]

ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱسْتَوَىٰ

Ar-Rahmaanu 'alal 'Arshis tawaa

The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne.

وہ بڑا مہربان عرش پر قائم ہوا [۳]

لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ ٱلثَّرَىٰ

Lahoo maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa maa tahtassaraa

Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod.

اُسی کاہے جو کچھ ہے آسمان اور زمین میں اور اُن دونوں کے درمیان اور نیچے گیلی زمین کے [۴]

وَإِن تَجْهَرْ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلسِّرَّ وَأَخْفَى

Wa in tajhar bilqawli fainnahoo ya'lamus sirra wa akhfaa

And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden.

اور اگر تو بات کہے پکار کر تو اُسکو تو خبر ہے چھپی ہوئی بات کی اور اُس سے بھی چھپی ہوئی کی [۵]

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

Allaahu laaa ilasha illaa Huwa lahul Asmaaa'ul Husnaa

Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names.

اللہ ہے جسکے سوا بندگی نہیں کسی کی اُسی کے ہیں سب نام خاصے [۶]

وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ

Wa hal ataaka hadeesu Moosa

Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses?

اور پہنچی ہے تجھ کو بات موسٰی کی [۷]

إِذْ رَءَا نَارًۭا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًۭا لَّعَلِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ هُدًۭى

Iz ra aa naaran faqaala li alhlihim kusooo inneee aanastu naaral la'alleee aateekum minhaa biqabasin aw ajidu 'alan naari hudaa

When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire.

جب اُس نے دیکھی ایک آگ تو کہا اپنے گھر والوں کو ٹھہرو میں نے دیکھی ہے ایک آگ شاید لے آؤں تمہارے پاس اُس میں سے سلگا کر یا پاؤں آگ پر پہنچ کر رستہ کا پتہ

فَلَمَّآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِىَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ

Falammaaa ataahaa noodiya yaa Moosaa

And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses!

پھر جب پہنچا آگ کے پاس آواز آئی اے موسٰی [۸]

إِنِّىٓ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكَ فَٱخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًۭى

Inneee Ana Rabbuka fakhla' na'laika innaka bilwaadil muqaddasi Tuwaa

Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa.

میں ہوں تیرا رب سو اتار ڈال اپنی جوتیاں تو ہے پاک میدان طویٰ میں [۹]

وَأَنَا ٱخْتَرْتُكَ فَٱسْتَمِعْ لِمَا يُوحَىٰٓ

Wa anakhtartuka fastami' limaa yoohaa

And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired.

اور میں نے تجھ کو پسند کیا ہے سو تو سنتا رہ جو حکم ہو [۱۰]

إِنَّنِىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدْنِى وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِذِكْرِىٓ

Innaneee Anal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Ana fa'budnee wa aqimis-salaata lizikree

Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance.

میں جو ہوں اللہ ہوں کسی کی بندگی نہیں سوا میرے سو میری بندگی کر اور نماز قائم رکھ میری یادگاری کو [۱۱]

إِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا تَسْعَىٰ

Innas Saa'ata aatiyatun akaadu ukhfeehaa litujzaa kullu nafsim bimaa tas'aa

Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve).

قیامت بیشک آنے والی ہے میں مخفی رکھنا چاہتا ہوں اُسکو [۱۲] تاکہ بدلہ ملے ہر شخص کو جو اُس نے کمایا ہے [۱۳]

فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ

Falaa yasuddannnaka 'anhaa mal laa yu'minu bihaa wattaba'a hawaahu fatardaa

Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish.

سو کہیں تجھ کو نہ روک دے اُس سے وہ شخص جو یقین نہیں رکھتا اُس کا اور پیچھے پڑ رہا ہے اپنے مزوں کے پھر تو بھی پٹکا جائے [۱۴]

وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Wa maa tilka bi yamee nika yaa Moosaa

And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses?

اور یہ کیا ہے تیرے داہنے ہاتھ میں اے موسٰی [۱۵]

قَالَ هِىَ عَصَاىَ أَتَوَكَّؤُا۟ عَلَيْهَا وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَىٰ غَنَمِى وَلِىَ فِيهَا مَـَٔارِبُ أُخْرَىٰ

Qaala hiya 'asaaya atawakka'u alaihaa wa ahushshu bihaa 'alaa ghanamee wa liya feehaa ma aaribu ukhraa

He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses.

بولا یہ میری لاٹھی ہے اس پر ٹیک لگاتا ہوں اور پتے جھاڑتا ہوں اس سے اپنی بکریوں پر اور میرے اس میں چند کام ہیں اور بھی [۱۶]

قَالَ أَلْقِهَا يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Qaala alqihaa yaa Moosaa

He said: Cast it down, O Moses!

فرمایا ڈالدے اُسکو اے موسٰی

فَأَلْقَىٰهَا فَإِذَا هِىَ حَيَّةٌۭ تَسْعَىٰ

Fa-alqaahaa fa -izaa hiya haiyatun tas'aa

So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding.

تو اُسکو ڈال دیا پھر اسی وقت وہ تو سانپ ہو گیا دوڑتا ہوا [۱۷]

قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Qaala khuzhaa wa laa ta khaf sanu'eeduhaa seeratahal oolaa

He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state.

فرمایا پکڑ لے اُسکو اور مت ڈر ہم ابھی پھیر دیں گے اُسکو پہلی حالت پر [۱۸]

وَٱضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٍ ءَايَةً أُخْرَىٰ

Wadmum yadaka ilaa janaahika takhruj baidaaa'a min ghairi sooo'in Aayatan ukhraa

And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token.

اور ملا لے اپنا ہاتھ اپنی بغل سےکہ نکلے سفید ہو کر بلا عیب [۱۹] یہ نشانی دوسری

لِنُرِيَكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا ٱلْكُبْرَى

Linuriyaka min Aayaatinal Kubra

That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents,

تاکہ دکھاتےجائیں ہم تجھ کو اپنی نشانیاں بڑی[۲۰]

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

Izhab ilaa Fir'awna innahoo taghaa

Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds).

جا طرف فرعون کے کہ اُس نے بہت سر اٹھایا

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى

Qaala Rabbish rah lee sadree

(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind

بولا اے رب کشادہ کر میرا سینہ [۲۱]

وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى

Wa yassir leee amree

And ease my task for me;

اور آسان کر میرا کام [۲۲]

وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةًۭ مِّن لِّسَانِى

Wahlul 'uqdatam milli saanee

And loose a knot from my tongue,

اور کھول دے گرہ میری زبان سے

يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى

Yafqahoo qawlee

That they may understand my saying.

کہ سمجھیں میری بات [۲۳]

وَٱجْعَل لِّى وَزِيرًۭا مِّنْ أَهْلِى

Waj'al lee wazeeram min ahlee

Appoint for me a henchman from my folk,

اور دےمجھ کو ایک کام بٹانے والا میرے گھر کا

هَٰرُونَ أَخِى

Haaroona akhee

Aaron, my brother.

ہارون میرا بھائی [۲۴]

ٱشْدُدْ بِهِۦٓ أَزْرِى

Ushdud biheee azree

Confirm my strength with him

اُس سے مضبوط کر میری کمر

وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِىٓ أَمْرِى

Wa ashrik hu feee amree

And let him share my task,

اور شریک کر اُسکو میرے کام میں [۲۵]

كَىْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًۭا

Kai nusabbihaka kaseeraa

That we may glorify Thee much

کہ تیری پاک ذات کا بیان کریں ہم بہت سا

وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا

Wa nazkuraka kaseeraa

And much remember Thee.

اور یاد کریں ہم تجھ کو بہت سا [۲۶]

إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًۭا

Innaka kunta binaa baseeraa

Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us.

تو تو ہے ہم کو خوب دیکھتا [۲۷]

قَالَ قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤْلَكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Qaala qad ooteeta su'laka yaa Moosaa

He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses.

فرمایا ملا تجھ کو تیرا سوال اے موسٰی [۲۸]

وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَىٰٓ

Wa laqad manannaa 'alaika marratan ukhraaa

And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour,

اور احسان کیا تھا ہم نے تجھ پر ایک بار اور بھی [۲۹]

إِذْ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ

Iz awhainaaa ilaaa ummika maa yoohaaa

When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired,

جب حکم بھیجا ہم نے تیری ماں کو جو آگے سناتے ہیں [۳۰]

أَنِ ٱقْذِفِيهِ فِى ٱلتَّابُوتِ فَٱقْذِفِيهِ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ ٱلْيَمُّ بِٱلسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّى وَعَدُوٌّۭ لَّهُۥ ۚ وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةًۭ مِّنِّى وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيْنِىٓ

Aniqzifeehi fit Taabooti faqzifeehi fil yammi fal yul qihil yammu bis saahili yaakhuzhu 'aduwwul lee wa 'aduwwul lah; wa alqaitu 'alaika mahabbatam minnee wa litusna'a 'alaa 'ainee

Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will,

کہ ڈال اُسکو صندوق میں پھر اُسکو ڈال دے دریا میں پھر دریا اُسکو لے ڈالے کنارے پر اٹھا لے اُسکو ایک دشمن میرا اور اُس کا [۳۱] اور ڈال دی میں نے تجھ پر محبت اپنی طرف سے [۳۲] اور تاکہ پرورش پائے تو میری آنکھ کے سامنے [۳۳]

إِذْ تَمْشِىٓ أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُۥ ۖ فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّكَ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ ۚ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًۭا فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّٰكَ فُتُونًۭا ۚ فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Iz tamsheee ukhtuka fataqoolu hal adullukum 'alaa mai yakfuluhoo faraja 'naaka ilaaa ummika kai taqarra 'ainuhaa wa laa tahzan; wa qatalta nafsan fanajjainaaka minal ghammi wa fatannaaka futoonaa; falabista sineena feee ahli Madyana summa ji'ta 'alaa qadariny yaa Moosa

When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses,

جب چلنے لگی تیری بہن اور کہنے لگی میں بتاؤں تمکو ایسا شخص جو اُسکو پالے پھر پہنچا دیا ہم نے تجھ کو تیری ماں کے پاس کہ ٹھنڈی رہے اُسکی آنکھ اور غم نہ کھائے [۳۴] اور تو نے مار ڈالا ایک شخص کو پھر بچا دیا ہم نے تجھ کو اُس غم سے [۳۵] اور جانچا ہم نے تجھ کو ایک ذرا جانچنا [۳۶] پھر ٹھہرا رہا تو کئ برس مدین والوں میں پھر آیا تو تقدیر سے اے موسٰی

وَٱصْطَنَعْتُكَ لِنَفْسِى

Wastana' tuka linafsee

And I have attached thee to Myself.

اور بنایا میں نے تجھ کو خاص اپنے واسطے [۳۸]

ٱذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِـَٔايَٰتِى وَلَا تَنِيَا فِى ذِكْرِى

Izhab anta wa akhooka bi Aayaatee wa laa taniyaa fee zikree

Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me.

جا تو اور تیرا بھائی میری نشانیاں لیکر اور سستی نہ کریو میری یاد میں [۳۹]

ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

Izhabaaa ilaa Fir'awna innahoo taghaa

Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds).

جاؤ طرف فرعون کی اُس نے بہت سر اٹھایا [۴۰]

فَقُولَا لَهُۥ قَوْلًۭا لَّيِّنًۭا لَّعَلَّهُۥ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَىٰ

Faqoolaa lahoo qawlal laiyinal la allahoo yatazakkkaru 'aw yakhshaa

And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear.

سو کہو اُس سے بات نرم شاید وہ سوچے یا ڈرے [۴۱]

قَالَا رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَآ أَوْ أَن يَطْغَىٰ

Qaalaa Rabbanaaa innanaa nakhaafu ai yafruta 'alainaaa aw ai yatghaa

They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant.

بولے اے رب ہمارے ہم ڈرتے ہیں کہ بھبک پڑے ہم پر یا جوش میں آ جائے [۴۲]

قَالَ لَا تَخَافَآ ۖ إِنَّنِى مَعَكُمَآ أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ

Qaala laa takhaafaaa innanee ma'akumaa asma'u wa araa

He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing.

فرمایا نہ ڈرو میں ساتھ ہوں تمہارے سنتا ہوں اور دیکھتا ہوں [۴۳]

فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ ۖ قَدْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِـَٔايَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۖ وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

Faatiyaahu faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolaa Rabbika fa arsil ma'anaa Banee Israaa'eela wa laa tu'azzibhum qad ji'naaka bi Aayatim mir Rabbika wassa laamu 'alaa manit taba'al hudaa

So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance.

سو جاؤ اُسکے پاس اور کہو ہم دونوں بھیجے ہوئے ہیں تیرے رب کے سو بھیجدے ہمارے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو اور مت ستا اُنکو [۴۴] ہم آئے ہیں تیرے پاس نشانی لیکر تیرے رب کی [۴۵] اور سلامتی ہو اُسکی جو مان لے راہ کی بات

إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْنَآ أَنَّ ٱلْعَذَابَ عَلَىٰ مَن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

Innaa qad oohiya ilainaaa annnal 'azaaba 'alaa man kaz zaba wa tawalla

Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away.

ہم کو حکم ملا ہے کہ عذاب اُس پر ہے جو جھٹلائے اور منہ پھیر لے [۴۶]

قَالَ فَمَن رَّبُّكُمَا يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Qaala famar Rabbu kumaa yaa Moosa

(Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses?

بولا پھر کون ہے رب تم دونوں کا اے موسٰی [۴۷]

قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلْقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ

Qaala Rabbunal lazeee a'taa kulla shai'in khalqahoo summa hadaa

He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright.

کہا رب ہمارا وہ ہے جس نے دی ہر چیز کو اُسکی صورت پھر راہ سجھائی [۴۸]

قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ ٱلْقُرُونِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Qaala famaa baalul quroonil oolaa

He said: What then is the state of the generations of old?

بولا پھر کیا حقیقت ہے اُن پہلی جماعتوں کی

قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ ۖ لَّا يَضِلُّ رَبِّى وَلَا يَنسَى

Qaala 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabee fee kitaab, laa yadillu Rabbee wa laa yansaa

He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth,

کہا اُنکی خبر میرے رب کے پاس لکھی ہوئی ہے نہ بہکتا ہے میرا رب اور نہ بھولتا ہے [۴۹]

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًۭا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًۭا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًۭا مِّن نَّبَاتٍۢ شَتَّىٰ

Allazee ja'ala lakumul arda mahdanw wa salaka lakum feehaa subulanw wa anzala minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa akhrajnaa biheee azwaajam min nabaatin shatta

Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation,

وہ ہے جس نے بنا دیا تمہارے واسطے زمین کو بچھونا اور چلائیں تمہارے لئے اُس میں راہیں [۵۰] اور اتارا آسمان سے پانی پھر نکالی ہم نے اُس سے طرح طرح کی سبزی [۵۱]

كُلُوا۟ وَٱرْعَوْا۟ أَنْعَٰمَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلنُّهَىٰ

Kuloo war'aw an'aamakum; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil li ulin nuhaa

(Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought.

کھاؤ اور چراؤ اپنے چوپایوں کو [۵۲] البتہ اُس میں نشانیاں ہیں عقل رکھنے والوں کو [۵۳]

۞ مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ

Minhaa khalaqnaakum wa feehaa nu'eedukum wa minhaa nukhrijukum taaratan ukhraa

Thereof We created you, and thereunto We return you, and thence We bring you forth a second time.

اسی زمین میں ہم نے تمکو بنایا اور اسی میں تمکو پھر پہنچا دیتے ہیں اور اسی سے نکالیں گے تمکو دوسری بار [۵۴]

وَلَقَدْ أَرَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَىٰ

Wa laqad arainaahu Aayaatinaa kullahaa fakaz zaba wa abaa

And We verily did show him all Our tokens, but he denied them and refused.

اور ہم نے فرعون کو دکھلا دیں اپنی سب نشانیاں پھر اُس نے جھٹلایا اور نہ مانا [۵۵]

قَالَ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتُخْرِجَنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا بِسِحْرِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Qaala aji'tanaa litukhri janaa min ardinaa bisihrika yaa Moosa

He said: Hast come to drive us out from our land by thy magic, O Moses?

بولا کیا تو آیا ہے ہم کو نکالنے ہمارے ملک سے اپنے جادو کے زور سے اے موسٰی [۵۶]

فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦ فَٱجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًۭا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُۥ نَحْنُ وَلَآ أَنتَ مَكَانًۭا سُوًۭى

Falanaatiyannaka bisihrim mislihee faj'al bainanaa wa bainaka maw'idal laa nukhlifuhoo nahnu wa laaa anta makaanan suwaa

But we surely can produce for thee magic the like thereof; so appoint a tryst between us and you, which neither we nor thou shall fail to keep, at a place convenient (to us both).

سو ہم بھی لائیں گے تیرے مقابلہ میں ایک ایسا ہی جادو سو ٹھہرا لے ہمارے اور اپنے بیچ میں ایک وعدہ نہ ہم خلاف کریں اُس کا اور نہ تو ایک میدان صاف میں [۵۷]

قَالَ مَوْعِدُكُمْ يَوْمُ ٱلزِّينَةِ وَأَن يُحْشَرَ ٱلنَّاسُ ضُحًۭى

Qaala maw'idukum yawmuz zeenati wa ai yuhsharan naasu duhaa

(Moses) said: Your tryst shall be the day of the feast, and let the people assemble when the sun hath risen high.

کہا وعدہ تمہارا ہے جشن کا دن اور یہ کہ جمع ہوں لوگ دن چڑھے [۵۸]

فَتَوَلَّىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فَجَمَعَ كَيْدَهُۥ ثُمَّ أَتَىٰ

Fatawallaa Fir'awnu fajjama'a kaidahoo summa ataa

Then Pharaoh went and gathered his strength, then came (to the appointed tryst).

پھر اُلٹا پھرا فرعون پھر جمع کئے اپنے سارے داؤ پھر آیا [۵۹]

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا فَيُسْحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٍۢ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ

Qaala lahum Moosaa wailakum laa taftaroo 'alal laahi kaziban fa yus hitakum bi 'azaab, wa qad khaaba manif taraa

Moses said unto them: Woe unto you! Invent not a lie against Allah, lest He extirpate you by some punishment. He who lieth faileth miserably.

کہا اُنکو موسٰی نے کم بختی تمہاری جھوٹ نہ بولو اللہ پر پھر غارت کر دے تمکو کسی سخت آفت سے اور مراد کو نہیں پہنچا جس نے جھوٹ باندھا [۶۰]

فَتَنَٰزَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ

Fatanaaza'ooo amrahum bainahum wa asarrun najwaa

Then they debated one with another what they must do, and they kept their counsel secret.

پھر جھگڑے اپنے کا م پر آپس میں اور چھپ کر کیا مشورہ [۶۱]

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَٰنِ لَسَٰحِرَٰنِ يُرِيدَانِ أَن يُخْرِجَاكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ ٱلْمُثْلَىٰ

Qaalooo in haaazaani lasaahiraani yureedaani ai yukhrijaakum min ardikum bisihrihimaa wa yazhabaa bitareeqatikumul muslaa

They said: Lo! these are two wizards who would drive you out from your country by their magic, and destroy your best traditions;

بولے مقرر یہ دونوں جادوگر ہیں چاہتے ہیں کہ نکال دیں تمکو تمہارے ملک سے اپنے جادو کے زور سے اور موقوف کرا دیں تمہارے اچھے خاصے چلن کو [۶۲]

فَأَجْمِعُوا۟ كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ٱئْتُوا۟ صَفًّۭا ۚ وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْيَوْمَ مَنِ ٱسْتَعْلَىٰ

Fa ajmi'oo kaidakum summma'too saffaa; wa qad aflahal yawma manis ta'laa

So arrange your plan, and come in battle line. Whoso is uppermost this day will be indeed successful.

سو مقرر کر لو اپنی تدبیر پھر آؤ قطار باندھ کر اور جیت گیا آج جو غالب رہا [۶۳]

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ

Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa immaaa an tulqiya wa immaaa an nakoona awala man alqaa

They said: O Moses! Either throw first, or let us be the first to throw?

بولے اے موسٰی یا تو تو ڈال اور یا ہم ہوں پہلے ڈالنے والے

قَالَ بَلْ أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ فَإِذَا حِبَالُهُمْ وَعِصِيُّهُمْ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ مِن سِحْرِهِمْ أَنَّهَا تَسْعَىٰ

Qaala bal alqoo fa izaa hibaaluhum wa 'isiyyuhum yuhaiyalu ilaihi min sihrihim annahaa tas'aa

He said: Nay, do ye throw! Then lo! their cords and their staves, by their magic, appeared to him as though they ran.

کہا نہیں تم ڈالو [۶۴] پھر تبھی اُنکی رسیاں اور لاٹھیاں اُسکے خیال میں آئیں اُنکے جادو سے کہ دوڑ رہی ہیں [۶۵]

فَأَوْجَسَ فِى نَفْسِهِۦ خِيفَةًۭ مُّوسَىٰ

Fa awjasa fee nafsihee kheefatam Moosa

And Moses conceived a fear in his mind.

پھر پانے لگا اپنے جی میں ڈر موسٰی [۶۶]

قُلْنَا لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

Qulnaa laa takhaf innaka antal a'laa

We said: Fear not! Lo! thou art the higher.

ہم نے کہا تو مت ڈر مقرر تو ہی رہے گا غالب [۶۷]

وَأَلْقِ مَا فِى يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا۟ كَيْدُ سَٰحِرٍۢ ۖ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلسَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ

Wa alqi maa fee yamee nika talqaf maa sana'oo; innamaa sana'oo kaidu saahir; wa laa yuflihus saahiru haisu ataa

Throw that which is in thy right hand! It will eat up that which they have made. Lo! that which they have made is but a wizard's artifice, and a wizard shall not be successful to whatever point (of skill) he may attain.

اور ڈال جو تیرے داہنے ہاتھ میں ہے کہ نگل جائے جو کچھ اُنہوں نے بنایا [۶۸] اُن کا بنایا ہوا فریب ہے جادوگر کا اور بھلا نہیں ہوتا جادوگر کا جہاں ہو [۶۹]

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًۭا قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَٰرُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ

Fa ulqiyas saharatu sujjadan qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbi Haaroona wa Moosa

Then the wizards were (all) flung down prostrate, crying: We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.

پھر گر پڑے جادوگر سجدہ میں بولے ہم یقین لائے رب پر ہارون اور موسٰی کے [۷۰]

قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ ۖ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِى جُذُوعِ ٱلنَّخْلِ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَآ أَشَدُّ عَذَابًۭا وَأَبْقَىٰ

Qaala aamantum lahoo qabla an aazana lakum; innahoo lakabeerukumul lazee 'allama kumus sihra fala uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafinw wa la usallibannakum fee juzoo'in nakhli wa lata'lamunna aiyunaaa ashaddu 'azaabanw wa abqaa

(Pharaoh) said: Ye put faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he is your chief who taught you magic. Now surely I shall cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and I shall crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and ye shall know for certain which of us hath sterner and more lasting punishment.

بولا فرعون تم نے اُسکو مان لیا میں نے ابھی حکم نہ دیا تھا وہی تمہارا بڑا ہے جس نے سکھلایا تمکو جادو [۷۱] سو اب میں کٹواؤں گا تمہارے ہاتھ اور دوسری طرف کے پاؤں [۷۲] اور سولی دوں گا تمکو کھجور کے تنا پر [۷۳] اور جان لو گے ہم میں کس کا عذاب سخت ہے اور دیر تک رہنے والا [۷۴]

قَالُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْثِرَكَ عَلَىٰ مَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنَا ۖ فَٱقْضِ مَآ أَنتَ قَاضٍ ۖ إِنَّمَا تَقْضِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَآ

Qaaloo lan nu'siraka 'alaa maa jaaa'anaa minal baiyinaati wallazee fataranaa faqdi maaa anta qaad; innamaa taqdee haazihil hayaatad dunyaa

They said: We choose thee not above the clear proofs that have come unto us, and above Him Who created us. So decree what thou wilt decree. Thou wilt end for us only this life of the world.

وہ بولے ہم تجھ کو زیادہ نہ سمجھیں گے اُس چیز سے جو پہنچی ہم کو صاف دلیل اور اُس سے جس نے ہم کو پیدا کیا سو تو کر گذر جو تجھ کو کرنا ہے تو یہی کرے گا اس دنیا کی زندگی میں

إِنَّآ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَا وَمَآ أَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلسِّحْرِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

Innaaa aamannaa bi Rabbinaa liyaghfira lanaa khataayaanaa wa maaa akrahtanaa 'alaihi minas sihr; wallaahu khairunw waabqaa

Lo! we believe in our Lord, that He may forgive us our sins and the magic unto which thou didst force us. Allah is better and more lasting.

ہم یقین لائے ہیں اپنے رب پر تاکہ بخشے ہم کو ہمارے گناہ اور جو تو نے زبردستی کروایا ہم سے یہ جادو [۷۵] اور اللہ بہتر ہے اور سدا باقی رہنے والا [۷۶]

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأْتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجْرِمًۭا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ

Innahoo mai yaati Rabbahoo mujriman fa inna lahoo Jahannama laa yamotu feehaa wa laa yahyaa

Lo! whoso cometh guilty unto his Lord, verily for him is hell. There he will neither die nor live.

بات یہی ہے کہ جو کوئی آیا رب کے پاس گناہ لیکر سو اُس کے واسطے دوزخ ہے نہ مرے اُس میں نہ جئے [۷۷]

وَمَن يَأْتِهِۦ مُؤْمِنًۭا قَدْ عَمِلَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلدَّرَجَٰتُ ٱلْعُلَىٰ

Wa mai yaatihee mu'minan qad 'amilas saalihaati fa ulaaa'ika lahumud dara jaatul 'ulaa

But whoso cometh unto Him a believer, having done good works, for such are the high stations;

اور جو آیا اُسکے پاس ایمان لیکر نیکیاں کر کر سو اُن لوگوں کیلئے ہیں درجے بلند

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ

Jannaatu 'Adnin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; wa zaalika jazaaa'ua man tazakka

Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. That is the reward of him who groweth.

باغ ہیں بسنے کے بہتی ہیں اُنکے نیچے سے نہریں ہمیشہ رہا کریں گے اُن میں [۷۸] اور یہ بدلہ ہے اُس کا جو پاک ہوا [۷۹]

وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى فَٱضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًۭا فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ يَبَسًۭا لَّا تَخَٰفُ دَرَكًۭا وَلَا تَخْشَىٰ

Wa laqad awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an asri bi'ibaadee fadrib lahum tareeqan fil bahri yabasal laa takhaafu darakanw wa laa takhshaa

And verily We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night and strike for them a dry path in the sea, fearing not to be overtaken, neither being afraid (of the sea).

اور ہم نے حکم بھیجا موسٰی کو کہ لے نکل میرےبندوں کو رات سے پھر ڈال دے اُنکے لئے سمندر میں رستہ سوکھا نہ خطرہ کر آ پکڑنے کا اور نہ ڈر ڈوبنے سے

فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِۦ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ

Fa atba'ahum Fir'awnu bijunoodihee faghashiyahum minal yammmi maa ghashi yahum

Then Pharaoh followed them with his hosts and there covered them that which did cover them of the sea.

پھر پیھچا کیا اُن کا فرعون نے اپنے لشکروں کو لیکر پھر ڈھانپ لیا اُنکو پانی نے جیسا کہ ڈھانپ لیا [۸۰]

وَأَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهُۥ وَمَا هَدَىٰ

wa adalla fir'awnu qawmahoo wa maa hadaa

And Pharaoh led his folk astray, he did not guide them.

اور بہکایا فرعون نے اپنی قوم کو اور نہ سمجھایا [۸۱]

يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ قَدْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَوَٰعَدْنَٰكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنَ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ

Yaa Baneee Israaa'eela qad anjainaakum min 'aduw wikum wa wa'adnaakum jaanibat Tooril aimana wa nazzalnaa 'alaikumul Manna was Salwaa

O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and we made a covenant with you on the holy mountain's side, and sent down on you the manna and the quails,

اے اولاد اسرائیل چھڑا لیا ہم نے تمکو تمہارے دشمن سے اور وعدہ ٹھہرا یا تم سے داہنی طرف پہاڑ کی اور اتارا تم پر من اور سلویٰ

كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِيهِ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبِى ۖ وَمَن يَحْلِلْ عَلَيْهِ غَضَبِى فَقَدْ هَوَىٰ

Kuloo min taiyibaati maa razaqnaakum wa laa tatghaw feehi fa yahilla 'alaikum ghadabee wa mai yahlil 'alaihi ghadabee faqad hawaa

(Saying): Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and transgress not in respect thereof lest My wrath come upon you: and he on whom My wrath cometh, he is lost indeed.

کھاؤ ستھری چیزیں جو روزی دی ہم نے تمکو اور نہ کرو اُس میں زیادتی [۸۲] پھر تو اترے گا تم پر میرا غصہ اور جس پر اترا میرا غصہ سو وہ پٹکا گیا [۸۳]

وَإِنِّى لَغَفَّارٌۭ لِّمَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا ثُمَّ ٱهْتَدَىٰ

Wa innee la Ghaffaarul liman taaba wa aamana wa 'amila saalihan summah tadaa

And lo! verily I am Forgiving toward him who repenteth and believeth and doeth good, and afterward walketh aright.

اور میری بڑی بخشش ہے اس پر جو توبہ کرے اور یقین لائے اور کرے بھلا کام پھر راہ پر رہے [۸۴]

۞ وَمَآ أَعْجَلَكَ عَن قَوْمِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

Wa maaa a'jalaka 'an qawmika yaa Moosa

And (it was said): What hath made thee hasten from thy folk, O Moses?

اور کیوں جلدی کی تونے اپنی قوم سے اے موسٰی

قَالَ هُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ عَلَىٰٓ أَثَرِى وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَىٰ

Qaala hum ulaaa'i 'alaaa asaree wa 'ajiltu ilaika Rabbi litardaa

He said: They are close upon my track. I hastened unto Thee, my Lord, that Thou mightest be well pleased.

بولا وہ یہ آ رہے ہیں میرے پیچھے اور میں جلدی آیا تیری طرف اے میرے رب تاکہ تو راضی ہو [۸۵]

قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدْ فَتَنَّا قَوْمَكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

Qaala fa innaa qad fatannaa qawmaka mim ba'dika wa adallahumus Saamiriyy

He said: Lo! We have tried thy folk in thine absence, and As-Samiri hath misled them.

فرمایا ہم نے بچلا دیا تیری قوم کو تیرے پیچھے اور بہکایا اُنکو سامری نے [۸۶]

فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًۭا ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا ۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُم مَّوْعِدِى

Faraja's Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifaa; qaala yaa qawmi alam ya'idkum Rabbukum wa'dan hasanaa; afataala 'alaikumul 'ahdu am arattum ai yahilla 'alaikum ghadabum mir Rabbikum fa akhlaftum maw'idee

Then Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. He said: O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? Did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me?

پھر الٹا پھرا موسٰی اپنی قوم کے پاس غصہ میں بھرا پچتاتا ہوا کہا اے قوم کیا تم سے وعدہ نہ کیا تھا تمہارے رب نے اچھا وعدہ کیا طویل ہو گئ تم پر مدت یا چاہا تم نے کہ اترے تم پر غضب تمہارے رب کا اس لئے خلاف کیا تم نے میرا وعدہ [۸۷]

قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَآ أَوْزَارًۭا مِّن زِينَةِ ٱلْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَٰهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

Qaaloo maaa akhlafnaa maw'idaka bimalkinna wa laakinna hummilnaaa awzaaram min zeenatil qawmi faqazafnaahaa fakazaalika alqas Saamiriyy

They said: We broke not tryst with thee of our own will, but we were laden with burdens of ornaments of the folk, then cast them (in the fire), for thus As-Samiri proposed.

بولے ہم نے خلاف نہیں کیا تیرا وعدہ اپنے اختیار سے و لیکن اٹھوایا ہم سے بھاری بوجھ قوم فرعون کے زیور کا سو ہم نے اُسکو پھینک دیا پھر اس طرح ڈھالا سامری نے [۸۸]

فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌۭ فَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِىَ

Fa akhraja lahum 'ijlan jasadal lahoo khuwaarun faqaaloo haazaaa ilaahukum wa ilaahu Moosaa fanasee

Then he produced for them a calf, of saffron hue, which gave forth a lowing sound. And they cried: This is your god and the god of Moses, but he hath forgotten.

پھر بنا نکالا اُنکے واسطے ایک بچھڑا ایک دھڑ جسمیں آواز گائے کی پھر کہنے لگے یہ معبود ہے تمہارا اور معبود ہے موسٰی کا سو وہ بھول گیا [۸۹]

أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًۭا وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّۭا وَلَا نَفْعًۭا

Afalaa yarawna allaa yarji'u ilaihim qawlanw wa laa yamliku lahum darranw wa laa naf'aa

See they not, then, that it returneth no saying unto them and possesseth for them neither hurt nor use?

بھلا یہ لوگ نہیں دیکھتے کہ وہ جواب تک نہیں دیتا اُنکو کسی بات کا اور اختیار نہیں رکھتا اُنکے برے کا اور نہ بھلے کا [۹۰]

وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَٰرُونُ مِن قَبْلُ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى وَأَطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرِى

Wa laqad qaala lahum Haaroonu min qablu yaa qawmi innamaa futintum bihee wa inna Rabbakumur Rahmaanu fattabi'oonee wa atee'ooo amree

And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand: O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith, for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order.

اور کہا تھا اُنکو ہارون نے پہلے سے اے قوم بات یہی ہے کہ تم بہک گئے اس بچھڑے سے اور تمہارا رب تو رحمٰن ہے سو میری راہ چلو اور مانو بات میری [۹۱]

قَالُوا۟ لَن نَّبْرَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَٰكِفِينَ حَتَّىٰ يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ

Qaaloo lan nabraha 'alaihi 'aakifeena hattaa yarji'a ilainaa Moosaa

They said: We shall by no means cease to be its votaries till Moses return unto us.

بولے ہم برابر اسی پر لگے بیٹھے رہیں گے جب تک لوٹ کر نہ آئے ہمارے پاس موسٰی [۹۲]

قَالَ يَٰهَٰرُونُ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَهُمْ ضَلُّوٓا۟

Qaala Yaa Haaroonu maa mana 'aka iz ra aitahum dallooo

He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What held thee back when thou didst see them gone astray,

کہا موسٰی نے اے ہارون کس چیز نے روکا تجھ کو جب دیکھا تھا تو نے کہ وہ بہک گئے

أَلَّا تَتَّبِعَنِ ۖ أَفَعَصَيْتَ أَمْرِى

Allaa tattabi'ani afa'asaita amree

That thou followedst me not? Hast thou then disobeyed my order?

کہ تو میرےپیچھے نہ آیا کیا تو نے رد کیا میرا حکم [۹۳]

قَالَ يَبْنَؤُمَّ لَا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِى وَلَا بِرَأْسِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى خَشِيتُ أَن تَقُولَ فَرَّقْتَ بَيْنَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَمْ تَرْقُبْ قَوْلِى

Qaala yabna'umma laa taakhuz bilihyatee wa laa biraasee innee khashetu an taqoola farraqta baina Baneee Israaa'eela wa lam tarqub qawlee

He said: O son of my mother! Clutch not my beard nor my head! I feared lest thou shouldst say: Thou hast caused division among the Children of Israel, and hast not waited for my word.

وہ بولا اے میری ماں کے جنے نہ پکڑ میری داڑھی اور نہ سر [۹۴] میں ڈرا کہ تو کہے گا پھوٹ ڈالدی تو نے بنی اسرائیل میں اور یاد نہ رکھی میری بات [۹۵]

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكَ يَٰسَٰمِرِىُّ

Qaala famaa khatbuka yaa Saamiriyy

(Moses) said: And what hast thou to say, O Samiri?

کہا موسٰی نے اب تیری کیا حقیقت ہے اے سامری [۹۶]

قَالَ بَصُرْتُ بِمَا لَمْ يَبْصُرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَقَبَضْتُ قَبْضَةًۭ مِّنْ أَثَرِ ٱلرَّسُولِ فَنَبَذْتُهَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ سَوَّلَتْ لِى نَفْسِى

Qaala basurtu bimaa lam yabsuroo bihee faqabadtu qabdatam min asarir Rasooli fanabaztuhaa wa kazaalika sawwalat lee nafsee

He said: I perceived what they perceive not, so I seized a handful from the footsteps of the messenger, and then threw it in. Thus my soul commended to me.

بولا میں نے دیکھ لیا جو اوروں نے نہ دیکھا پھر بھر لی میں نے ایک مٹھی پاؤں کے نیچے سے اُس بھیجے ہوئے کے پھر میں نے وہی ڈالدی اور یہی صلاح دی مجھ کو میرے جی نے [۹۷]

قَالَ فَٱذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِدًۭا لَّن تُخْلَفَهُۥ ۖ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِكَ ٱلَّذِى ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًۭا ۖ لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ نَسْفًا

Qaala fazhab fa inna laka fil hayaati an taqoola laa misaasa wa inna laka maw'idal lan tukhlafahoo wanzur ilaaa ilaahikal lazee zalta 'alaihi 'aakifaa; lanuharriqannnahoo summa lanansifanahoo fil yammi nasfaa

(Moses) said: Then go! and lo! in this life it is for thee to say: Touch me not! and lo! there is for thee a tryst thou canst not break. Now look upon thy god of which thou hast remained a votary. Verily we will burn it and will scatter its dust over the sea.

کہا موسٰی نے دور ہو تیرے لئے زندگی بھر تو اتنی سزا ہے کہ کہا کرے مت چھیڑو [۹۸] اور تیرے واسطے ایک وعدہ ہے وہ ہرگز تجھ سے خلاف نہ ہو گا [۹۹] اور دیکھ اپنے معبود کو جس پر تمام دن تو معتکف رہتا تھا ہم اسکو جلا دیں گے پھر بکھیر دیں گے دریا میں اڑا کر [۱۰۰]

إِنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًۭا

Innamaaa ilaahukkumul laahul lazee laa ilaaha illaa Hoo; wasi'a kulla shai'in ilmaa

Your Allah is only Allah, than Whom there is no other Allah. He embraceth all things in His knowledge.

تمہارا معبود تو وہی اللہ ہے جس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں سب چیز سما گئ ہے اُسکے علم میں [۱۰۱]

كَذَٰلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ ۚ وَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكْرًۭا

Kazaalika naqussu 'alaika min ambaaa'i maa qad sabaq; wa qad aatainaaka mil ladunnaa Zikraa

Thus relate We unto thee (Muhammad) some tidings of that which happened of old, and We have given thee from Our presence a reminder.

یوں سناتےہیں ہم تجھ کو اُنکے احوال جو پہلے گذر چکے [۱۰۲] اور ہم نے دی تجھ کو اپنے پاس سے پڑھنے کی کتاب [۱۰۳]

مَّنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَحْمِلُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وِزْرًا

Man a'rada 'anhu, fa innahoo yahmilu Yawmal Qiyaamati wizraa

Whoso turneth away from it, he verily will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection,

جو کوئی منہ پھیر لے اُس سے وہ اٹھائے گا دن قیامت کے ایک بوجھ

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهِ ۖ وَسَآءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ حِمْلًۭا

Khaalideena feehi wa saaa'a lahum Yawmal Qiyaamati himlaa

Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection,

سدا رہیں گے اس میں اور برا ہے اُن پر قیامت میں وہ بوجھ اٹھانے کا [۱۰۴]

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ وَنَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ زُرْقًۭا

Yawma yunfakhu fissoori wa nahshurul mujrimeena Yawma 'izin zurqaa

The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror),

جس دن پھونکیں گے صور میں اور گھیر لائیں گے ہم گناہگاروں کو اُس دن نیلی آنکھیں [۱۰۵]

يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا عَشْرًۭا

Yatakhaafatoona bainahum il labistum illaa 'ashraa

Murmuring among themselves: Ye have tarried but ten (days).

چپکے چپکے کہتے ہونگے آپس میں تم نہیں رہے مگر دس دن [۱۰۶]

نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ إِذْ يَقُولُ أَمْثَلُهُمْ طَرِيقَةً إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا يَوْمًۭا

nahnu a'lamu bimaa yaqooloona iz yaqoolu amsaluhum tareeqatan illabistum illaa yawmaa

We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day.

ہم کو خوب معلوم ہے جو کچھ کہتے ہیں [۱۰۷] جب بولے گا اُن میں اچھی راہ روشن والا تم نہیں رہے مگر ایک دن [۱۰۸]

وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْجِبَالِ فَقُلْ يَنسِفُهَا رَبِّى نَسْفًۭا

Wa yas'aloonaka 'anil jibaali faqul yansifuhaa Rabbee nasfaa

They will ask thee of the mountains (on that day). Say: My Lord will break them into scattered dust.

اور تجھ سے پوچھتے ہیں پہاڑوں کا حال سو تو کہہ اُنکو بکھیر دے گا میرا رب اڑا کر

فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعًۭا صَفْصَفًۭا

Fa yazaruhaa qaa'an safsafaa

And leave it as an empty plain,

پھر کر چھوڑے گا زمین کو صاف میدان

لَّا تَرَىٰ فِيهَا عِوَجًۭا وَلَآ أَمْتًۭا

Laa taraa feehaa 'iwajanw wa laaa amtaa

Wherein thou seest neither curve nor ruggedness.

نہ دیکھے تو اُس میں موڑ اور نہ ٹیلا [۱۰۹]

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلدَّاعِىَ لَا عِوَجَ لَهُۥ ۖ وَخَشَعَتِ ٱلْأَصْوَاتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَلَا تَسْمَعُ إِلَّا هَمْسًۭا

Yawma iziny yattabi'oonad daa'iya laa 'iwaja lahoo wa khasha'atil aswaatu lir Rahmaani falaa tasma'u illaa hamsaa

On that day they follow the summoner who deceiveth not, and voices are hushed for the Beneficent, and thou hearest but a faint murmur.

اُس دن پیچھے دوڑیں گے پکارنے والے کے ٹیڑھی نہیں جسکی بات [۱۱۰] اور دب جائیں گی آوازیں رحمٰن کے ڈر سے پھر تو نہ سنے گا مگر گھس گھسی آواز [۱۱۱]

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا تَنفَعُ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَرَضِىَ لَهُۥ قَوْلًۭا

Yawma 'izil laa tanfa'ush shafaa'atu illaa man azina lahur Rahmaanu wa radiya lahoo qawlaa

On that day no intercession availeth save (that of) him unto whom the Beneficent hath given leave and whose word He accepteth.

اُس دن کام نہ آئے گی سفارش مگر جسکو اجازت رحمٰن نے دی اور پسند کی اسکی بات [۱۱۲]

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلْمًۭا

Ya'lamu maa bainaa aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yauheetoona bihee 'ilmaa

He knoweth (all) that is before them and (all) that is behind them, while they cannot compass it in knowledge.

وہ جانتا ہے جو کچھ ہے اُنکے آگے اور پیچھے اور یہ قابو میں نہیں لا سکتے اُسکو دریافت کر کر [۱۱۳]

۞ وَعَنَتِ ٱلْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَىِّ ٱلْقَيُّومِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْمًۭا

Wa 'anatil wujoohu lil Haiiyil Qaiyoomi wa qad khaaba man hamala zulmaa

And faces humble themselves before the Living, the Eternal. And he who beareth (a burden of) wrongdoing is indeed a failure (on that day).

اور رگڑتے ہیں منہ آگے اس جیتے ہمیشہ رہنے والے کے [۱۱۴] اور خراب ہوا جس نے بوجھ اٹھایا ظلم کا [۱۱۵]

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَلَا يَخَافُ ظُلْمًۭا وَلَا هَضْمًۭا

Wa mai ya'mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu'minun falaa yakhaafu zulmanw wa laa hadmaa

And he who hath done some good works, being a believer, he feareth not injustice nor begrudging (of his wage).

اور جو کوئی کرے کچھ بھلائیاں اور وہ ایمان بھی رکھتا ہو سو اُسکو ڈر نہیں بے انصافی کا اور نہ نقصان پہنچنے کا [۱۱۶]

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّۭا وَصَرَّفْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْوَعِيدِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ أَوْ يُحْدِثُ لَهُمْ ذِكْرًۭا

Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu Qur-aanan 'Arabiyyanw wa sarrafnaa fee hi minal wa'eedi la'allahum yattaqoona aw yuhdisu lahum zikraa

Thus we have revealed it as a Lecture in Arabic, and have displayed therein certain threats, that peradventure they may keep from evil or that it may cause them to take heed.

اور اسی طرح اتارا ہم نے قرآن عربی زبان کا اور پھیر پھیر کر سنائی ہم نے اُس میں ڈرانے کی باتیں تاکہ وہ پرہیز کریں یا ڈالے اُنکے دل میں سوچ [۱۱۷]

فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُۥ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًۭا

Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; wa laa ta'jal bil Quraani min qabli ai yuqdaaa ilaika wahyuhoo wa qur Rabbi zidnee 'ilmaa

Then exalted be Allah, the True King! And hasten not (O Muhammad) with the Qur'an ere its revelation hath been perfected unto thee, and say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.

سو بلند درجہ اللہ کا اُس سچے بادشاہ کا [۱۱۸] اور تو جلدی نہ کر قرآن کے لینے میں جب تک کہ پورا نہ ہو چکے اُس کا اترنا اور کہہ اے رب زیادہ کر میری سمجھ [۱۱۹]

وَلَقَدْ عَهِدْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ مِن قَبْلُ فَنَسِىَ وَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُۥ عَزْمًۭا

Wa laqad 'ahidnaaa ilaaa Aadama min qablu fanasiya wa lam najid lahoo 'azmaa

And verily We made a covenant of old with Adam, but he forgot, and We found no constancy in him.

اور ہم نے تاکید کر دی تھی آدم کو اُس سے پہلے پھر بھول گیا اور نہ پائی ہم نے اسمیں کچھ ہمت [۱۲۰]

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ

Wa iz qulnaa lilma laaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fasajadooo illaaa Iblees; abaa

And when We said unto the angels: Fall prostrate before Adam, they fell prostrate (all) save Iblis; he refused.

اور جب کہا ہم نے فرشتوں کو سجدہ کرو آدم کو تو سجدہ میں گر پڑے مگر نہ مانا ابلیس نے

فَقُلْنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوٌّۭ لَّكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلَا يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَىٰٓ

Faqulnaa yaaa Aadamu inna haazaa 'aduwwul laka wa lizawjika falaa yukhrijan nakumaa minal Jannati fatashqaa

Therefor we said: O Adam! This is an enemy unto thee and unto thy wife, so let him not drive you both out of the Garden so that thou come to toil.

پھر کہہ دیا ہم نے اے آدم یہ دشمن تیرا ہے اور تیرے جوڑے کا سو نکلوا نہ دے تمکو بہشت سے پھر تو پڑ جائے تکلیف میں [۱۲۱]

إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعْرَىٰ

Innaa laka allaa tajoo'a feeha wa laa ta'raa

It is (vouchsafed) unto thee that thou hungerest not therein nor art naked,

تجھ کو یہ ملا ہے کہ نہ بھوکا ہو تو اُس میں اور نہ ننگا

وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَؤُا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ

Wa annaka laa tazma'u feehaa wa laa tadhaa

And that thou thirstest not therein nor art exposed to the sun's heat.

اور یہ کہ نہ پیاس کھینچے تو اس میں اور نہ دھوپ [۱۲۲]

فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍۢ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ

Fa waswasa ilaihish Shaitaanu qaala yaaa Aadamu hal adulluka 'alaa shajaratil khuldi wa mulkil laa yablaa

But the devil whispered to him, saying: O Adam! Shall I show thee the tree of immortality and power that wasteth not away?

پھر جی میں ڈالا اُسکے شیطان نے کہا اے آدم میں بتاؤں تجھ کو درخت سدا زندہ رہنے کا اور بادشاہی جو پرانی نہ ہو [۱۲۳]

فَأَكَلَا مِنْهَا فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۚ وَعَصَىٰٓ ءَادَمُ رَبَّهُۥ فَغَوَىٰ

Fa akalaa minhaa fabadat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannah; wa 'asaaa Aadamu Rabbahoo faghawaa

Then they twain ate thereof, so that their shame became apparent unto them, and they began to hide by heaping on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And Adam disobeyed his Lord, so went astray.

پھر دونوں نے کھا لیا اُسمیں سے پھر کھل گئیں اُن پر اُنکی بری چیزیں اور لگے گانٹھنے اپنے اوپر پتے بہشت کے [۱۲۴] اور حکم ٹالا آدم نے اپنے رب کا پھر راہ سے بہکا

ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ

Summaj tabbahu Rabbuhoo fataaba 'alaihi wa hadaa

Then his Lord chose him, and relented toward him, and guided him.

پھر نواز دیا اُسکو اُسکے رب نے پھر متوجہ ہوا اُس پر اور راہ پر لایا [۱۲۵]

قَالَ ٱهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًۢا ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّۭ ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًۭى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ

Qaalah bita minhaa jamee'am ba'dukum liba'din 'aduww; fa immaa yaati yannakum minnee hudan famanit taba'a hudaaya falaa yadillu wa laa yashhqaa

He said: Go down hence, both of you, one of you a foe unto the other. But when there come unto you from Me a guidance, then whoso followeth My guidance, he will not go astray nor come to grief.

فرمایا اترو یہاں سے دونوں اکٹھے رہو ایک دوسرے کے دشمن [۱۲۶] پھر اگر پہنچے تمکو میری طرف سے ہدایت [۱۲۷] پھر جو چلا میری بتلائی راہ پر سو نہ وہ بہکے گا اور نہ وہ تکلیف میں پڑے گا [۱۲۸]

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةًۭ ضَنكًۭا وَنَحْشُرُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَعْمَىٰ

Wa man a'rada 'an Zikree fa inna lahoo ma'eeshatan dankanw wa nahshuruhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati a'maa

But he who turneth away from remembrance of Me, his will be a narrow life, and I shall bring him blind to the assembly on the Day of Resurrection.

اور جس نے منہ پھیرا میری یاد سے تو اُسکو ملنی ہے گذران تنگی کی [۱۲۹] اور لائیں گے ہم اُسکو دن قیامت کے اندھا [۱۳۰]

قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِىٓ أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًۭا

Qaala Rabbi lima hashar tanee a'maa wa qad kuntu baseeraa

He will say: My Lord! Wherefor hast Thou gathered me (hither) blind, when I was wont to see?

وہ کہے گا اے رب کیوں اٹھا لایا تو مجھ کو اندھا اور میں تو تھا دیکھنے والا [۱۳۱]

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ ءَايَٰتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ تُنسَىٰ

Qaala kazaalika atatka Aayaatunaa fanaseetahaa wa kazaalikal Yawma tunsaa

He will say: So (it must be). Our revelations came unto thee but thou didst forget them. In like manner thou art forgotten this Day.

فرمایا یونہی پہنچی تھیں تجھ کو میری آیتیں پھر تو نے انکو بھلا دیا اور اسی طرح آج تجھ کو بھلا دیں گے [۱۳۲]

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنۢ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

Wa kazaalika najzee man asrafa wa lam yu'mim bi Aayaati Rabbih; wa la'azaabul Aakhirati ashaddu wa abqaa

Thus do We reward him who is prodigal and believeth not the revelations of his Lord; and verily the doom of the Hereafter will be sterner and more lasting.

اور اسی طرح بدلہ دیں گے ہم اُسکو جو حد سے نکلا اور یقین نہ لایا اپنے رب کی باتوں پر [۱۳۳] اور آخرت کا عذاب سخت ہے اور بہت باقی رہنے والا [۱۳۴]

أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِى مَسَٰكِنِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلنُّهَىٰ

Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlaknaa qablahum minal qurooni yamshoona fee masaakinihim; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil li ulinnuhaa

Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many a generation We destroyed before them, amid whose dwellings they walk? Lo! therein verily are signs for men of thought.

سو کیا اُنکو سمجھ نہ آئی اس بات سے کہ کتنی غارت کر دیں ہم نے اُن سے پہلے جماعتیں یہ لوگ پھرتے ہیں اُنکی جگہوں میں [۱۳۵] اس میں خوب نشانیاں ہیں عقل رکھنے والوں کو

وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌۭ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًۭا وَأَجَلٌۭ مُّسَمًّۭى

Wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika lakaana lizaamanw wa ajalum musammaa

And but for a decree that had already gone forth from thy Lord, and a term already fixed, the judgment would have been inevitable (in this world).

اور اگر نہ ہوتی ایک بات کہ نکل چکی تیرے ب کی طرف سے تو ضرور ہو جاتی مٹھ بھیڑ اور اگر نہ ہوتا وعدہ مقرر کیا گیا [۱۳۶]

فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ وَمِنْ ءَانَآئِ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ

Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qabla ghuroobihaa wa min aanaaa'il laili fasbbih wa atraafan nahaari la 'allaka tardaa

Therefor (O Muhammad), bear with what they say, and celebrate the praise of thy Lord ere the rising of the sun and ere the going down thereof. And glorify Him some hours of the night and at the two ends of the day, that thou mayst find acceptance.

سو تو سہتا رہ جو وہ کہیں [۱۳۷] اور پڑھتا رہ خوبیاں اپنے رب کی سورج نکلنے سے پہلے اور غروب ہونے سے پہلے [۱۳۸] اور کچھ گھڑیوں میں رات کی پڑھا کر [۱۳۹] اور دن کی حدوں پر [۱۴۰] شاید تو راضی ہو [۱۴۱]

وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًۭا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌۭ وَأَبْقَىٰ

Wa laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa ma matta'na biheee azwajam minhum zahratal hayaatid dunya linaftinahum feeh; wa rizqu Rabbika khairunw wa abqaa

And strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoy, the flower of the life of the world, that We may try them thereby. The provision of thy Lord is better and more lasting.

اور مت پسار اپنی آنکھیں اُس چیز پر جو فائدہ اٹھانے کو دی ہم نے ان طرح طرح کے لوگوں کو رونق دنیا کی زندگی کی اُنکے جانچے کو اور تیرے رب کی دی ہوئی روزی بہتر ہے اور بہت باقی رہنے والی [۱۴۲]

وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًۭا ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ

Waamur ahlaka bis Salaati wastabir 'alaihaa la nas'aluka rizqaa; nahnu narzuquk; wal 'aaqibatu littaqwaa

And enjoin upon thy people worship, and be constant therein. We ask not of thee a provision: We provided for thee. And the sequel is for righteousness.

اور حکم کر اپنے گھر والوں کو نماز کا اور خود بھی قائم رہ اُس پر [۱۴۳] ہم نہیں مانگتے تجھ سے روزی ہم روزی دیتے ہیں تجھ کو اور انجام بھلا ہے پرہیزگاری کا [۱۴۴]

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا يَأْتِينَا بِـَٔايَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦٓ ۚ أَوَلَمْ تَأْتِهِم بَيِّنَةُ مَا فِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ

Wa qaaloo law laa yaateenaa bi Aayatim mmir Rabbih; awalam taatihim baiyinatu maa fis suhufil oolaa

And they say: If only he would bring us a miracle from his Lord! Hath there not come unto them the proof of what is in the former scriptures?

اور لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ کیوں نہیں لے آتا ہمارے پاس کوئی نشانی اپنے رب سے [۱۴۵] کیا پہنچ نہیں چکی اُنکو نشانی اگلی کتابوں میں کی [۱۴۶]

وَلَوْ أَنَّآ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُم بِعَذَابٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ لَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًۭا فَنَتَّبِعَ ءَايَٰتِكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن نَّذِلَّ وَنَخْزَىٰ

Wa law annaaa ahlaknaahum bi'azaabim min qablihee laqaaloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi's Aayaatika min qabli an nazilla wa nakhzaa

And if we had destroyed them with some punishment before it, they would assuredly have said: Our Lord! If only Thou hadst sent unto us a messenger, so that we might have followed Thy revelations before we were (thus) humbled and disgraced!

اور اگر ہم ہلاک کر دیتے اُنکو کسی آفت میں اس سے پہلے تو کہتے اے رب کیوں نہ بھیجا ہم تک کسی کو پیغام دیکر کہ ہم چلتے تیری کتاب پر ذلیل اور رسوا ہونے سے پہلے

قُلْ كُلٌّۭ مُّتَرَبِّصٌۭ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ ٱلسَّوِىِّ وَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ

Qul kullum mutarabbisun fatarabbasoo fasta'lamoona man Ashaabus Siraatis Sawiyyi wa manih tadaa

Say: Each is awaiting; so await ye! Ye will come to know who are the owners of the path of equity, and who is right.

تو کہہ ہر کوئی راہ دیکھتا ہے سو تم بھی راہ دیکھو اور آئندہ جان لو گے کون ہیں سیدھی راہ والے اور کس نے راہ پائی [۱۴۷]
