Al-Anbiyaa

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مُّعْرِضُونَ

Iqtaraba linnaasi hisaa buhum wa hum fee ghaflatim mu'ridoon

Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness.

نزدیک آ گیا لوگوں کے اُنکے حساب کا وقت اور وہ بیخبر ٹلا رہے ہیں [۱]

مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

Maa yaateehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama'oohu wa hum yal'aboon

Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play,

کوئی نصیحت نہیں پہنچتی اُنکو اُنکے رب سے نئی مگر اُسکو سنتے ہیں کھیل میں لگےہوئے

لَاهِيَةًۭ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

Laahiyatan quloobuhum; wa asarrun najwal lazeena zalamoo hal haazaa illaa basharum mislukum afataa toonas sihra wa antum tubsiroon

With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)?

کھیل میں پڑے ہیں دل اُنکے [۲] اور چھپا کر مصلحت کی بے انصافوں نے یہ شخص کون ہے ایک آدمی ہےتم ہی جیسا پھر کیوں پھنستے ہو اُسکے جاد ومیں آنکھوں دیکھتے [۳]

قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Qaala Rabbee ya'lamul qawla fis samaaa'i wal ardi wa Huwas Samee'ul Aleem

He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower.

اُس نے کہا میرے رب کو خبر ہے بات کی آسمان میں ہو یا زمین میں اور وہ ہے سننے والا جاننے والا [۴]

بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَٰثُ أَحْلَٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۭ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٍۢ كَمَآ أُرْسِلَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

Bal qaalooo adghaasu ahlaamim balif taraahu bal huwa shaa'irun falyaatinaa bi Aayatin kamaa ursilal awwaloon

Nay, say they, (these are but) muddled dreams; nay, he hath but invented it; nay, he is but a poet. Let him bring us a portent even as those of old (who were Allah's messengers) were sent (with portents).

اُسکو چھوڑ کر کہتے ہیں بیہودہ خواب ہیں نہیں جھوٹ باندھ لیا ہے نہیں شعر کہتا ہے پھر چاہیئے لے آئے ہمارے پاس کوئی نشانی جیسے پیغام لیکر آئے ہیں پہلے [۵]

مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَآ ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Maaa aaamanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa a-fahum yu'minoon

Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them (though We sent them portents): would they then believe?

نہیں مانا اُن سے پہلے کسی بستی نے جنکو غارت کر دیا ہم نے کیا اب یہ مان لیں گے [۶]

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka illaa rijaalan nooheee ilaihim fas'aloo ahlaz zikri in kuntum laa ta'lamoon

And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not?

اور پیغام نہیں بھیجا ہم نے تجھ سے پہلے مگر یہی مردوں کے ہاتھ وحی بھیجتے تھے ہم اُنکو سو پوچھ لو یاد رکھنے والوں سے اگر تم نہیں جانتے [۷]

وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ جَسَدًۭا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَٰلِدِينَ

Wa maa ja'alnaahum jasadal laa yaakuloonat ta'aama wa maa kaanoo khaalideen

We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals.

اور نہیں بنائے تھے ہم نے اُنکے ایسے بدن کہ وہ کھانا نہ کھائیں اور نہ تھے وہ ہمیشہ رہ جانے والے [۸]

ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

summa sadaqnaa humul wa'da fa-anjainaahum wa man nashaaa'u wa ahlaknal musrifeen

Then we fulfilled the promise unto them. So we delivered them and whom We would, and We destroyed the prodigals.

پھر سچا کر دیا ہم نے اُن سے وعدہ سو بچا دیا اُنکو اور جسکو ہم نے چاہا اور غارت کر دیا حد سے نکلے والوں کو [۹]

لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَٰبًۭا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Kitaaban feehi zikrukum afalaa ta'qiloon

Now We have revealed unto you a Scripture wherein is your Reminder. Have ye then no sense?

ہم نے اتاری ہے تمہاری طرف کتاب کہ اُس میں تمہارا ذکر ہے کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں [۱۰]

وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۢ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةًۭ وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

Wa kam qasamnaa min qaryatin kannat zaalimatanw wa anshadnaa ba'dahaa qawman aakhareen

How many a community that dealt unjustly have We shattered, and raised up after them another folk!

اور کتنی پیس ڈالیں ہم نے بسیتاں جو تھیں گنہگار اور اٹھا کھڑے کئے اُنکے پیچھے اور لوگ [۱۱]

فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ

Falammaaa ahassoo baasanaaa izaaa hum minhaa yarkudoon

And, when they felt Our might, behold them fleeing from it!

پھر جب آہٹ پائی انہوں نے ہماری آفت کی تب لگے وہاں سے ایڑ کرنے

لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ

Laa tarkudoo warji'ooo ilaa maaa utriftum feehe wa masaakinikum la'allakum tus'aloon

(But it was said unto them): Flee not, but return to that (existence) which emasculated you and to your dwellings, that ye may be questioned.

ایڑ مت کرو اور لوٹ جاؤ جہاں تم نے عیش کیا تھا اور اپنے گھروں میں شاید کوئی تمکو پوچھے [۱۲]

قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen

They cried: Alas for us! we were wrong-doers.

کہنے لگے ہائے خرابی ہم تھے بیشک گنہگار

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَٰمِدِينَ

Famaa zaalat tilka da'waahum hattaa ja'alnaahum haseedan khaamideen

And this their crying ceased not till We made them as reaped corn, extinct.

پھر برابر یہی رہی اُنکی فریاد یہاں تک کہ ڈھیر کر دیے گئے کاٹ کر بجھے پڑے ہوئے [۱۳]

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa laa'ibeen

We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in play.

اور ہم نے نہیں بنایا آسمان اور زمین کو اور جو کچھ انکے بیچ میں ہےکھیلتے ہوئے [۱۴]

لَوْ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًۭا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Law aradnaaa an nattakhiza lahwal lat takhaznaahu mil ladunnaaa in kunnaa faa'ileen

If We had wished to find a pastime, We could have found it in Our presence - if We ever did.

اگر ہم چاہتے کہ بنا لیں کچھ کھلونا تو بنا لیتے ہم اپنے پاس سے اگر ہم کو کرنا ہوتا

بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۭ ۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

Bal naqzifu bilhaqqi 'alal baatili fa yadmaghuhoo fa izaa huwa zaahiq; wa lakumul wailu mimmaa tasifoon

Nay, but We hurl the true against the false, and it doth break its head and lo! it vanisheth. And yours will be woe for that which ye ascribe (unto Him).

یوں نہیں پر ہم پھینک مارتے ہیں سچ کو جھوٹ پر پھر وہ اُس کا سر پھوڑ ڈالتا ہے پھر وہ جاتا رہتا ہے اور تمہارے لئے خرابی ہے اُن باتوں سے جو تم بتلاتے ہو [۱۵]

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ

Wa lahoo man fis samaawaati wal ard; wa man 'indahoo laa yastakbiroona 'an 'ibaada tihee wa laa yastahsiroon

Unto Him belongeth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who dwell in His presence are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they weary;

اور اُسی کا ہے جو کوئی ہے آسمان اور زمین میں [۱۶] اور جو اُسکے نزدیک رہتے ہیں سرکشی نہیں کرتے اُسکی عبادت سے اور نہیں کرتے کاہلی

يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ

Yusabbihoona laila wannahaara laa yafturoon

They glorify (Him) night and day; they flag not.

یاد کرتےہیں رات اور دن نہیں تھکتے [۱۷]

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ

Amit takhazooo aalihatam minal ardi hum yunshiroon

Or have they chosen gods from the earth who raise the dead?

کیا ٹھہرائے ہیں انہوں نے اور معبود زمین میں کہ وہ جلا اٹھائیں گے اُنکو [۱۸]

لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Law kaana feehimaaa aalihatun illal laahu lafasadataa; fa-Subhaanal laahi Rabbil 'Arshi 'ammaa yasifoon

If there were therein gods beside Allah, then verily both (the heavens and the earth) had been disordered. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, from all that they ascribe (unto Him).

اگر ہوتے ان دونوں میں اور معبود سوائے اللہ کے تو دونوں خراب ہو جاتے [۱۹] سو پاک ہے اللہ عرش کا مالک اُن باتوں سے جو یہ بتلاتے ہیں [۲۰]

لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ

Laa yus'alu 'ammaa yaf'alu wa hum yus'aloon

He will not be questioned as to that which He doeth, but they will be questioned.

اُس سے پوچھا نہ جائے جو وہ کرے اور اِن سے پوچھا جائے [۲۱]

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭ ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Amit takhazoo min doonihee aalihatan qul haatoo burhaanakum haaza zikru mam ma'iya wa zikru man qablee; bal aksaruhum laa ya'lamoonal haqqa fahum mu'ridoon

Or have they chosen other gods beside Him? say: Bring your proof (of their godhead). This is the Reminder of those with me and those before me, but most of them know not the Truth and so they are averse.

کیا ٹھہرائے ہیں انہوں نے اُس سے ورے اور معبود تو کہہ لاؤ اپنی سند [۲۲] یہی بات ہے میرے ساتھ والوں کی اور یہی بات ہے مجھ سے پہلوں کی کوئی نہیں پر وہ بہت لوگ نہیں سمجھتے سچی بات سو ٹلا رہے ہیں [۲۳]

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدُونِ

Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolin illaa nooheee ilaihi annahoo laaa ilaaha illaaa Ana fa'budoon

And We sent no messenger before thee but We inspired him, (saying): There is no Allah save Me (Allah), so worship Me.

اور نہیں بھیجا ہم نے تجھ سے پہلے کوئی رسول مگر اُسکو یہی حکم بھیجا کہ بات یوں ہے کہ کسی کی بندگی نہیں سوائے میرے سو میری بندگی کرو [۲۴]

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًۭا ۗ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌۭ مُّكْرَمُونَ

Wa qaalut takhazar Rahmaanu waladan Subhaanah; bal 'ibaadum mkkramoon

And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son. Be He Glorified! Nay, but (those whom they call sons) are honoured slaves;

اور کہتے ہں رحمٰن نے کر لیا کسی کو بیٹا وہ ہر گز اس لائق نہیں [۲۵] لیکن وہ بندے ہیں جنکو عزت دی ہے

لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُم بِأَمْرِهِۦ يَعْمَلُونَ

Laa yasbiqoonahoo bil qawli wa hum bi amrihee ya'maloon

They speak not until He hath spoken, and they act by His command.

اس سے بڑھ کر نہیں بول سکتے اور وہ اسی کے حکم پر کام کرتے ہیں [۲۶]

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنْ خَشْيَتِهِۦ مُشْفِقُونَ

Ya'lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yashfa'oona illaa limanir tadaa wa hum min khash yatihee mushfiqoon

He knoweth what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot intercede except for him whom He accepteth, and they quake for awe of Him.

اُسکو معلوم ہے جو اُنکے آگے ہیں اور پیچھے [۲۷] اور وہ سفارش نہیں کرتے مگر اُسکی جس سے اللہ راضی ہو [۲۸] اور وہ اُسکی ہیبت سے ڈرتے ہیں [۲۹]

۞ وَمَن يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّىٓ إِلَٰهٌۭ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa mai yaqul minhum inneee ilaahum min doonihee fazaalika najzeehi Jahannam; kazaalika najziz zaalimeen

And one of them who should say: Lo! I am a god beside Him, that one We should repay with hell. Thus We Repay wrong-doers.

اور جو کوئی اُن میں کہے کہ میری بندگی ہے اس سے ورے سو اسکو ہم بدلہ دیں گے دوزخ یونہی ہم بدلہ دیتے ہیں بے انصافوں کو [۳۰]

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًۭا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Awalam yaral lazeena kafarooo annas samaawaati wal arda kaanataa ratqan faftaqnaahumaa wa ja'alnaa minal maaa'i kulla shai'in haiyin afalaa yu'minoon

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?

اور کیا نہیں دیکھا ان منکروں نے کہ آسمان اور زمین منہ بند تھے پھر ہم نے انکو کھول دیا [۳۱] اور بنائی ہم نے پانی سے ہر ایک چیز جس میں جان ہے [۳۲] پھر کیا یقین نہیں کرتے [۳۳]

وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًۭا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ

Wa ja'alnaa fil ardi rawaasiya an tameeda bihim wa ja'alnaa feehaa fijaajan subulal la'allahum yahtadoon

And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way.

اور رکھ دیے ہم نے زمین میں بھاری بوجھ کبھی اُنکو لے کر جھک پڑے [۳۴] اور رکھیں اُس میں کشادہ راہیں تاکہ وہ راہ پائیں [۳۵]

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقْفًۭا مَّحْفُوظًۭا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

Wa ja'alnas samaaa'a saqfam mahfoozanw wa hum 'an Aayaatihaa mu'ridoon

And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents.

اور بنایا ہم نے آسمان کو چھت محفوظ [۳۶] اور وہ آسمان کی نشانیوں کو دھیان میں نہیں لاتے [۳۷]

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍۢ يَسْبَحُونَ

Wa Huwal lazee khalaqal laila wannahaara washshamsa wal qamara kullun fee falakiny yashbahoon

And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit.

اور وہی ہے جس نے بنائے رات اور دن اور سورج اور چاند [۳۸] سب اپنے اپنے گھر میں پھرتے ہیں [۳۹]

وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِدُونَ

Wa maa ja'alnaa libasharim min qablikal khuld; afaimmitta fahumul khaalidoon

We appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal!

اور نہیں دیا ہم نے تجھ سے پہلے کسی آدمی کو ہمیشہ کیلئے زندہ رہنا پھر کیا اگر تو مر گیا تو وہ رہ جائیں گے

كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةًۭ ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

Kullu nafsin zaaa'iqatul mawt; wa nablookum bishsharri walkhairi fitnatanw wa ilainaa turja'oon

Every soul must taste of death, and We try you with evil and with good, for ordeal. And unto Us ye will be returned.

ہر جی کو چکھنی ہے موت [۴۰] اور ہم تمکو جانچتے ہیں برائی سے اور بھلائی سے آزمانے کو [۴۱] اور ہماری طرف پھر کر آ جاؤ گے [۴۲]

وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَذْكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ

Wa izaa ra aakal lazeena kafarooo iny-yattakhizoonaka illa huzuwaa; ahaazal lazee yazkuru aalihatakum wa hum bi zikrir Rahmaani hum kaafiroon

And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent.

اور جہاں تجھ کو دیکھا منکروں نے تو کوئی کام نہیں اُنکو تجھ سے مگر ٹھٹھا کرنا کیا یہی شخص ہے جو نام لیتا ہے تمہارے معبودوں کا اور وہ رحمٰن کے نام سے منکر ہیں [۴۳]

خُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِنْ عَجَلٍۢ ۚ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

Khuliqal insaanu min 'ajal; sa ureekum Aayaatee falaa tasta'jiloon

Man is made of haste. I shall show you My portents, but ask Me not to hasten.

بنا ہے آدمی جلدی کا اب دکھلاتا ہوں تمکو اپنی نشانیاں سو مجھ سے جلدی مت کرو [۴۴]

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen

And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful?

اور کہتے ہیں کب ہو گا یہ وعدہ اگر تم سچے ہو [۴۵]

لَوْ يَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

Law ya'lamul lazeena kafaroo heena laa yakuffoona 'anw wujoohihimun Naara wa laa 'an zuhoorihim wa laa hum yunsaroon

If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped!

اگر جان لیں یہ منکر اُس وقت کو کہ نہ روک سکیں گے اپنے منہ سے آگ اور نہ اپنی پیٹھ سے اور نہ اُنکو مدد پہنچے گی

بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةًۭ فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

Bal taateehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falaa yastatee'oona raddahaa wa laa hum yunzaroon

Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved.

کچھ نہیں وہ آئے گی اُن پر ناگہاں پھر انکے ہوش کھو دیگی پھر نہ پھیر سکیں گے اُسکو اور نہ اُنکو فرصت ملے گی [۴۶]

وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Wa laqadis tuhzi'a bi-Rusulim min qablika fahaaqa billazeena sakhiroo minhum maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon

Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them.

اور ٹھٹھے ہو چکے ہیں رسولوں سے تجھ سے پہلے پھر الٹ پڑی ٹھٹھا کرنے والوں پر اُن میں سے وہ چیز جس کا ٹھٹھا کرتے تھے [۴۷]

قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Qul mai yakla 'ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum 'an zikri Rabbihim mu'ridoon

Say: Who guardeth you in the night or in the day from the Beneficent? Nay, but they turn away from mention of their Lord!

تو کہہ کون نگہبانی کرتا ہے تمہاری رات میں اور دن میں رحمٰن سے [۴۸] کوئی نہیں وہ اپنے رب کے ذکر سے منہ پھیرتے ہیں [۴۹]

أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌۭ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ

Am lahum aalihatun tamna'ulum min dooninaa; laa yastatee'oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minnna yus-haboon

Or have they gods who can shield them from Us? They cannot help themselves nor can they be defended from Us.

یا اُنکے واسطے کوئی معبود ہیں کہ اُنکو بچاتے ہیں ہمارے سوا وہ اپنی بھی مدد نہیں کر سکتے اور نہ اُنکی ہماری طرف سے رفاقت ہو [۵۰]

بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَآ ۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ

Bal matta'naa haaa'ulaaa'i wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa taala 'alaihimul 'umur; afalaa yarawna anna naatil arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; afahumul ghaaliboon

Nay, but We gave these and their fathers ease until life grew long for them. See they not how we aim to the land, reducing it of its outlying parts? Can they then be the victors?

کوئی نہیں پر ہم نے عیش دیا اُنکو اور اُنکے باپ دادوں کو یہاں تک کہ بڑھ گئ اُن پر زندگی [۵۱] پھر کیا نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم چلے آتے ہیں زمین کو گھٹاتے اُسکے کناروں سے اب کیا وہ جیتنے والےہیں [۵۲]

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلْوَحْىِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ

Qul innamaaa unzirukum bilwahyi; wa laa yasma'us summud du'aaa'a izaa maa yunzaroon

Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I warn you only by the Inspiration. But the deaf hear not the call when they are warned.

تو کہہ میں جو تمکو ڈراتا ہوں سو حکم کے موافق اور سنتے نہیں بہرے پکارنے کو جب کوئی اُنکو ڈر کی بات سنائے [۵۳]

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌۭ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Wa la'im massat hum nafhatum min 'azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen

And if a breath of thy Lord's punishment were to touch them, they assuredly would say: Alas for us! Lo! we were wrong-doers.

اور کہیں پہنچ جائے اُن تک ایک بھاپ تیرے رب کے عذاب کی تو ضرور کہنے لگیں ہائے کم بختی ہماری بیشک ہم تھے گنہگار [۵۴]

وَنَضَعُ ٱلْمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍۢ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ

Wa nada'ul mawaazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai'aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen

And We set a just balance for the Day of Resurrection so that no soul is wronged in aught. Though it be of the weight of a grain of mustard seed, We bring it. And We suffice for reckoners.

اور رکھیں گے ہم ترازوئیں انصاف کی قیامت کے دن پھر ظلم نہ ہو گا کسی جی پر ایک ذرہ اور اگر ہو گا برابر رائی کے دانہ کی تو ہم لے آئیں گے اُسکو [۵۵] اور ہم کافی ہیں حساب کرنے کو [۵۶]

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَآءًۭ وَذِكْرًۭا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosa wa haaroonal Furqaana wa diyaa'anw wa zikral lilmuttaqeen

And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil,

اور ہم نے دی تھی موسٰی اور ہارون کو قضیے چکانے والی کتاب اور روشنی اور نصیحت ڈرنے والوں کو [۵۷]

ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ

Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa'ati mushfiqoon

Those who fear their Lord in secret and who dread the Hour (of doom).

جو ڈرتے ہیں اپنے رب سے بن دیکھے اور وہ قیامت کا خطرہ رکھتے ہیں [۵۸]

وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌۭ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ ۚ أَفَأَنتُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ

Wa haazaa Zikrum Mubaarakun anzalnaah; afa antum lahoo munkiroon

This is a blessed Reminder that we have revealed: Will ye then reject it?

اور یہ ایک نصیحت ہے برکت کی جو ہم نے اتاری سو کیا تم اُسکو نہیں مانتے [۵۹]

۞ وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَٰلِمِينَ

Wa laqad aatainaaa Ibraaheema rushdahoo min qablu wa kunnaa bihee 'aalimeen

And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him,

اور آگے دی تھی ہم نے ابراہیم کو اُسکی نیک راہ [۶۰] اور ہم رکھتے ہیں اُسکی خبر [۶۱]

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ

Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa haazihit tamaaseelul lateee antum lahee 'aakifoon

When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion?

جب کہا اُس نے اپنے باپ کو اور اپنی قوم کو یہ کیسی مورتیں ہیں جن پر تم مجاور بنے بیٹھے ہو [۶۲]

قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَٰبِدِينَ

Qaaloo wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa lahaa 'aabideen

They said: We found our fathers worshippers of them.

بولے ہم نے پایا اپنے باپ دادوں کو انہی کی پوجا کرتے [۶۳]

قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Qaala laqad kuntum antum wa aabaaa'ukum fee dalaalim mubeen

He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error.

بولا مقرر ہے تم اور تمہارے باپ دادے صریح گمراہی میں [۶۴]

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّٰعِبِينَ

Qaalooo aji'tanaa bil haqqi am anta minal laa'ibeen

They said: Bringest thou unto us the truth, or art thou some jester?

بولے تو ہمارے پاس لایا ہے سچی بات یا تو کھلاڑیاں کرتا ہے [۶۵]

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ

Qaala bar Rabbukum Rabbus samaawaati wal ardil lazee fatarahunna wa ana 'alaa zaalikum minash shaahideen

He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that.

بولا نہیں رب تمہارا وہی ہے رب آسمان اور زمین کا جس نے اُنکو بنایا اور میں اسی بات کا قائل ہوں [۶۶]

وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ

Wa tallaahi la akeedanna asnaamakum ba'da an tuwalloo mudbireen

And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs.

اور قسم اللہ کی میں علاج کروں گا تمہارے بتوں کا جب تم جا چکو گے پیٹھ پھیر کر [۶۷]

فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًۭا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ

Faja'alahum juzaazan illaa kabeeral lahum la'allahum ilaihi yarji'oon

Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it.

پھر کر ڈلا اُنکو ٹکڑے ٹکڑے مگر ایک بڑا اُن کا کہ شاید اُسکی طرف رجوع کریں [۶۸]

قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Qaaloo man fa'ala haazaa bi aalihatinaaa innahoo laminaz zaalimeen

They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer.

کہنے لگے کس نے کیا یہ کام ہمارے معبودوں کے ساتھ وہ تو کوئی بے انصاف ہے [۶۹]

قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتًۭى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ

Qaaloo sami'naa fatany yazkuruhum yuqaalu lahooo Ibraaheem

They said: We heard a youth make mention of them, who is called Abraham.

وہ بولے ہم نے سنا ہے ایک جوان جو بتوں کو کچھ کہا کرتا ہے اُسکو کہتے ہیں ابراہیم [۷۰]

قَالُوا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ

Qaaloo faatoo bihee 'alaaa a'yunin naasi la'allahum yash hadoon

They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify.

وہ بولے اُسکو لے آؤ لوگوں کے سامنے شاید وہ دیکھیں [۷۱]

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ

Qaalooo 'a-anta fa'alta haazaa bi aalihatinaa yaaa Ibraaheem

They said: Is it thou who hast done this to our gods, O Abraham?

بولے کیا تو نےکیا ہے یہ ہمارے معبودوں کیساتھ اے ابراہیم

قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ

Qaala bal fa'alahoo kabeeruhum haazaa fas'aloohum in kaanoo yantiqoon

He said: But this, their chief hath done it. So question them, if they can speak.

بولا نہیں پر یہ کیا ہے اُنکے اس بڑے نے سو اُن سے پوچھ لو اگر وہ بولتے ہیں [۷۲]

فَرَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

Faraja'ooo ilaaa anfusihim faqaalooo innakum antumuz zaalimoon

Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers.

پھر سوچے اپنے جی میں پھر بولے لوگو تم ہی بے انصاف ہو [۷۳]

ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ

Summa nukisoo 'alaa ru'oosihim laqad 'alimta maa haaa'ulaaa'i yantiqoon

And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not.

پھر اوندھے ہو گئے سر جھکا کر [۷۴] تو تو جانتا ہے جیسا یہ بولتے ہیں [۷۵]

قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ

Qaala afata'budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa'ukum shai'anw wa laa yadurrukum

He said: Worship ye then instead of Allah that which cannot profit you at all, nor harm you?

بولا کیا پھر تم پوجتے ہو اللہ سے ورے ایسے کو جو تمہارا کچھ بھلا کرنے نہ برا

أُفٍّۢ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Uffil lakum wa limaa ta'budoona min doonil laah; afalaa ta'qiloon

Fie on you and all that ye worship instead of Allah! Have ye then no sense?

بیزار ہوں میں تم سے اور جنکو تم پوجتے ہو اللہ کے سوائے کیا تم کو سمجھ نہیں [۷۶]

قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ

Qaaloo harriqooho wansurooo aalihatakum in kuntum faa'ileen

They cried: Burn him and stand by your gods, if ye will be doing.

بولے اسکو جلاؤ اور مدد کرو اپنے معبودوں کی اگر کچھ کرتے ہو [۷۷]

قُلْنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًۭا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Qulnaa yaa naaru koonee bardanw wa salaaman 'alaaa Ibraaheem

We said: O fire, be coolness and peace for Abraham,

ہم نے کہا اے آگ ٹھنڈی ہو جا اور آرام کر ابراہیم پر [۷۸]

وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرِينَ

Wa araadoo bihee kaidan faja'alnaahumul akhsareen

And they wished to set a snare for him, but We made them the greater losers.

اور چاہنے لگے اُس کا برا پھر اُنہی کو ہم نے ڈالا نقصان میں [۷۹]

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa najjainaahu wa Lootan ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa lil 'aalameen

And We rescued him and Lot (and brought them) to the land which We have blessed for (all) peoples.

اور بچا نکالا ہم نے اُسکو اور لوط کو اُس زمین کی طرف جس میں برکت رکھی ہم نے جہان کے واسطے [۸۰]

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةًۭ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا صَٰلِحِينَ

Wa wahabnaa lahooo Ishaaq; wa Ya'qooba naafilah; wa kullan ja'alnaa saaliheen

And We bestowed upon him Isaac, and Jacob as a grandson. Each of them We made righteous.

اور بخشا ہم نے اُسکو اسحٰق اور یعقوب دیا انعام میں [۸۱] اور سب کو نیک بخت کیا [۸۲]

وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ

Wa ja'alnaahum a'immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa wa awhainaaa ilaihim fi'lal khairaati wa iqaamas Salaati wa eetaaa'az Zakaati wa kaanoo lanaa 'aabideen

And We made them chiefs who guide by Our command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds and the right establishment of worship and the giving of alms, and they were worshippers of Us (alone).

اور اُنکو کیا ہم نے پیشوا راہ بتلاتے تھے ہمارے حکم سے [۸۳] اور کہلا بھیجا ہم نے اُنکو کرنا نیکیوں کا اور قائم رکھنی نماز اور دینی زکوٰۃ [۸۴] اور وہ تھے ہماری بندگی میں لگے ہوئے [۸۵]

وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَت تَّعْمَلُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ ۗ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَٰسِقِينَ

Wa Lootan aatainaahu hukmanw wa 'ilmanw wa najjainaahu minal qaryatil latee kaanat ta'malul khabaaa'is; innahum kaanoo qawma saw'in faasiqeen

And unto Lot we gave judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the community that did abominations. Lo! they were folk of evil, lewd.

اور لوط کو دیا ہم نے حکم اور سمجھ [۸۶] اور بچا نکالا اُسکو اس بستی سے جو کرتے تھے گندے کام وہ تھے لوگ بڑے نافرمان [۸۷]

وَأَدْخَلْنَٰهُ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Wa adkhalnaahu fee rahmatinaa innahoo minas saalihee

And We brought him in unto Our mercy. Lo! he was of the righteous.

اور اُسکو لے لیا ہم نے اپنی رحمت میں وہ ہے نیک بختوں میں [۸۸]

وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Wa noohan iz naadaa min qablu fastajabnaa lahoo fanajjainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil 'azeem

And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction.

اور نوح کو جب اُس نے پکارا اُس سے پہلے [۸۹] پھر قبول کر لی ہم نے اُس کی دعا سو بچا دیا اُسکو اور اسکے گھر والوں کو بڑی گھبراہٹ سے

وَنَصَرْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍۢ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Wa nasarnaahu minal qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kkaanoo qawma saw'in fa-aghraq naahum ajma'een

And delivered him from the people who denied Our revelations. Lo! they were folk of evil, therefor did We drown them all.

اور مدد کی اُسکی اُن لوگوں پر جو جھٹلاتے تھے ہماری آیتیں وہ تھے برے لوگ پھر ڈبا دیا ہم نے اُن سب کو [۹۰]

وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِى ٱلْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَٰهِدِينَ

Wa Daawooda wa Sulaimaana iz yahkumaani fil harsi iz nafashat feehi ghanamul qawmi wa kunnaa lihukmihim shaahideen

And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment concerning the field, when people's sheep had strayed and browsed therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment.

اور داؤد اور سلیمان کو جب لگے فیصل کرنے کھیتی کا جھگڑا جب روند گئیں اُسکو رات میں ایک قوم کی بکریاں اور سامنے تھا ہمارے اُن کا فیصلہ

فَفَهَّمْنَٰهَا سُلَيْمَٰنَ ۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمًۭا وَعِلْمًۭا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱلطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Fafahhamnaahaa sulaimaan; wa kullan aatainaa hukmanw wa'ilmanw wa sakh kharnaa ma'a Daawoodal jibaala yusabbihna wattayr; wa kunnaa faa'ileen

And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof).

پھر سمجھا دیا ہم نے وہ فیصلہ سلیمان کو اور دونوں کو دیا تھا ہم نے حکم اور سمجھ [۹۱] اور تابع کیے ہم نے داؤد کے ساتھ پہاڑ تسبیح پڑھا کرتے اور اڑتے جانور [۹۲] اور یہ سب کچھ ہم نے کیا [۹۳]

وَعَلَّمْنَٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍۢ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُمْ شَٰكِرُونَ

Wa 'allamanaahu san'ata laboosil lakum lituhsinakum mim baasikum fahal antum shaakiroon

And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful?

اور اُسکو سکھلایا ہم نے بنانا ایک تمہارا لباس کہ بچاؤ ہو تمکو لڑائی میں [۹۴] سو کچھ تم شکر کرتے ہو [۹۵]

وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةًۭ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَٰلِمِينَ

Wa li Sulaimaanar reeha 'aasifatan tajree bi amriheee ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa; wa kunnaa bikulli shai'in 'aalimeen

And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware.

اور سلیمان کے تابع کی ہوا زور سے چلنے والی کہ چلتی اسکے حکم اسے اُس زمین کی طرف جہاں برکت دی ہے ہم نے [۹۶] اور ہم کو سب چیز کی خبر ہے [۹۷]

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَٰفِظِينَ

Wa minash Shayaateeni mai yaghoosoona lahoo wa ya'maloona 'amalan doona zaalika wa kunna lahum baafizeen

And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them.

اور تابع کئے کتنے شیطان جو غوطہ لگاتے اُسکے واسطے اور بہت سے کام بناتے اسکے سوائے [۹۸] اور ہم نے اُنکو تھام رکھا تھا [۹۹]

۞ وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

Wa Ayyooba iz naadaa Rabbahooo annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

And Job, when he cried unto his Lord, (saying): Lo! adversity afflicteth me, and Thou art Most Merciful of all who show mercy.

اور ایوب کو جس وقت پکارا اُس نے اپنے رب کو کہ مجھ پر پڑی ہے تکلیف اور تو ہے سب رحم والوں سے رحم کرنے والا

فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرٍّۢ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰبِدِينَ

Fastajabnaa lahoo fakashaf naa maa bihee min durrinw wa aatainaahu ahlahoo wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatam min 'indinaa wa zikraa lil'aabideen

Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers;

پھر ہم نے سن لی اُسکی فریاد سو دور کر دی جو اُس پر تھی تکلیف اور عطا کئے اُسکو اسکے گھر والے اور اتنے ہی اور اُنکے ساتھ [۱۰۰] رحمت اپنی طرف سے اور نصیحت بندگی کرنے والوں کو [۱۰۱]

وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

Wa Ismaa'eela wa Idreesa wa Zal Kifli kullum minas saabireen

And (mention) Ishmael, and Idris, and Dhu'l-Kifl. All were of the steadfast.

اور اسمٰعیل اور ادریس اور ذوالکفل کو یہ سب ہیں صبر والے [۱۰۲]

وَأَدْخَلْنَٰهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Wa adkhalnaahum fee rahmatinaa innahum minas saaliheen

And We brought them in unto Our mercy. Lo! they are among the righteous.

اور لے لیا ہم نے اُنکو اپنی رحمت میں وہ ہیں نیک بختوں میں

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًۭا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa Zan Nooni iz zahaba mughaadiban fazaanna al lan naqdira 'alaihi fanaanna al lan naqdira 'alaihi fanaadaa fiz zulumaati al laaa ilaaha illaaa Anta Subhaanaka innee kuntu minaz zaalimeen

And (mention) Dhu'n-Nun, when he went off in anger and deemed that We had no power over him, but he cried out in the darkness, saying: There is no Allah save Thee. Be Thou Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer.

اور مچھلی والے کو جب چلا گیا غصہ ہو کر [۱۰۳] پھر سمجھا کہ ہم نہ پکڑ سکیں گے اُسکو [۱۰۴] پھر پکارا اُن اندھیروں میں [۱۰۵] کہ کوئی حاکم نہیں سوائے تیرے تو بے عیب ہے میں تھا گنہگاروں سے [۱۰۶]

فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Fastajabnaa lahoo wa najjainaahu minal ghamm; wa kazaalika nunjil mu'mineen

Then we heard his prayer and saved him from the anguish. Thus we save believers.

پھر سن لی ہم نے اُسکی فریاد اور بچا دیا اُسکو اُس گھٹنے سے اور یوں ہم بچا دیتےہیں ایمان والوں کو [۱۰۷]

وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ

Wa Zakariyyaaa iz naadaa Rabbahoo Rabbi laa tazarnee fardanw wa Anta khairul waariseen

And Zachariah, when he cried unto his Lord: My Lord! Leave me not childless, though Thou art the Best of inheritors.

اور زکریا کو جب پکارا اُس نے اپنے رب کو اے رب نہ چھوڑ مجھ کو اکیلا [۱۰۸] اور تو ہے سب سے بہتر وارث [۱۰۹]

فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًۭا وَرَهَبًۭا ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ

Fastajabnaa lahoo wa wahabnaa lahoo Yahyaa Wa aslahnaa lahoo zawjah; innahum kaanoo yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa yad'oonanaa raghabanw wa rahabaa; wa kaanoo lanaa khaashi'een

Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us.

پھر ہم نے سن لی اُسکی دعا اور بخشا اُسکو یحیٰی اور اچھا کر دیا اُسکی عورت کو [۱۱۰] وہ لوگ دوڑتے تھے بھلائیوں پر اور پکارتے تھے ہم کو توقع سے اور ڈر سے اور تھے ہمارے آگے عاجز [۱۱۱]

وَٱلَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَٰهَا وَٱبْنَهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wallateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehaa mir roohinaa wa ja'alnaahaa wabnahaaa Aayatal lil'aalameen

And she who was chaste, therefor We breathed into her (something) of Our Spirit and made her and her son a token for (all) peoples.

اور وہ عورت جس نے قابو میں رکھی اپنی شہوت [۱۱۲] پھر پھونک دی ہم نے اُس عورت میں اپنی روح [۱۱۳] اور کیا اُسکو اور اُسکے بیٹے کو نشانی جہان والوں کے واسطے [۱۱۴]

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُونِ

Inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fa'budoon

Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

یہ لوگ ہیں تمہارے دین کے سب ایک دین پر اور میں ہوں رب تمہارا سو میری بندگی کرو [۱۱۵]

وَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَٰجِعُونَ

Wa taqatta'ooo amrahum bainahum kullun ilainaaa raaji'oon

And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us.

اور ٹکڑے ٹکڑے بانٹ لیا لوگوں نے آپس میں اپنا کام [۱۱۶] سب ہمارےپاس پھر آئیں گے [۱۱۷]

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَٰتِبُونَ

Famai ya'mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu'minun falaa kufraana lisa'yihee wa innaa lahoo kaatiboon

Then whoso doeth some good works and is a believer, there will be no rejection of his effort. Lo! We record (it) for him.

سو جو کوئی کرےکچھ نیک کام اور وہ رکھتا ہو ایمان سو اکارت نہ کریں گے اُسکی سعی کو اور ہم اُسکو لکھ لیتے ہیں [۱۱۸]

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa haraamun 'alaa qaryatin ahlaknaahaaa annahum laa yarji'oon

And there is a ban upon any community which We have destroyed: that they shall not return.

اور مقرر ہو چکا ہر بستی پر جس کو غارت کر دیا ہم نے کہ وہ پھر کر نہیں آئیں گے [۱۱۹]

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍۢ يَنسِلُونَ

Hattaaa izaa futihat Yaajooju wa Maajooju wa hum min kulli hadabiny yansiloon

Until, when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they hasten out of every mound,

یہاں تک کہ جب کھول دئے جائیں یاجوج اور ماجوج اور وہ ہر اوچان سے پھسلتے چلے آئیں [۱۲۰]

وَٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلْوَعْدُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبْصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Waqtarabal wa'dul haqqu fa-izaa hiya shaakhisatun absaarul lazeena kafaroo yaawailanaa qad kunna fee ghaflatim min haaza bal kunnaa zaalimeen

And the True Promise draweth nigh; then behold them, staring wide (in terror), the eyes of those who disbelieve! (They say): Alas for us! We (lived) in forgetfulness of this. Ah, but we were wrong-doers!

اور نزدیک آ لگے سچا وعدہ پھر اس دم اوپر لگی رہ جائیں منکروں کی آنکھیں ہائے کمبختی ہماری ہم بے خبر رہے اس سے [۱۲۱] نہیں پر ہم تھے گنہگار [۱۲۲]

إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَٰرِدُونَ

Innakum wa maa ta'budoona min doonil laahi hasabu Jahannama antum lahaa waaridoon

Lo! ye (idolaters) and that which ye worship beside Allah are fuel of hell. Thereunto ye will come.

تم اور جو کچھ تم پوجتے ہو اللہ کے سوائے ایندھن ہے دوزخ کا تمکو اُس پر پہنچنا ہے [۱۲۳]

لَوْ كَانَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةًۭ مَّا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّۭ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Law kaana haaa'ulaaa'i aalihatam maa waradoohaa wa kullun feehaa khaalidoon

If these had been gods they would not have come thither, but all will abide therein.

اگر ہوتے یہ بت معبود تو نہ پہنچتے اُس پر اور سارے اُس میں سدا پڑے رہیں گے [۱۲۴]

لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌۭ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

Lahum feehaa zafeerunw wa hum feehaa laa yasma'oon

Therein wailing is their portion, and therein they hear not.

اُنکو وہاں چلانا ہے اور اُس میں کچھ نہ سنیں گے [۱۲۵]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ

Innal lazeena sabaqat lahum minnal husnaaa ulaaa'ika 'anhaa mub'adoon

Lo! those unto whom kindness hath gone forth before from Us, they will be far removed from thence.

جنکے لئے پہلے سے ٹھہر چکی ہماری طرف سے نیکی وہ اُس سے دور رہیں گے [۱۲۶]

لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِى مَا ٱشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَٰلِدُونَ

Laa yasma'oona hasee sahaa wa hum fee mash tahat anfusuhum khaalidoon

They will not hear the slightest sound thereof, while they abide in that which their souls desire.

نہیں سنیں گے اُسکی آہٹ اور وہ اپنے جی کے مزوں میں سدا رہیں گے [۱۲۷]

لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

Laa yahzunuhumul faza'ul akbaru wa tatalaq qaahumul malaaa'ikatu haazaa Yawmukumul lazee kuntum too'adoon

The Supreme Horror will not grieve them, and the angels will welcome them, (saying): This is your Day which ye were promised;

نہ غم ہو گا اُنکو اس بڑی گھبراہٹ میں [۱۲۸] اور لینے آئیں گے اُنکو فرشتے آج دن تمہارا ہے جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا تھا [۱۲۹]

يَوْمَ نَطْوِى ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍۢ نُّعِيدُهُۥ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Yawma natwis samaaa'a kataiyis sijilli lilkutub; kamaa badaanaa awwala khalqin nu'eeduh; wa'dan 'alainaa; innaa kunna faa'ileen

The Day when We shall roll up the heavens as a recorder rolleth up a written scroll. As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it. (It is) a promise (binding) upon Us. Lo! We are to perform it.

جس دن ہم لپیٹ دیں گے آسمان کو جیسے لپیٹتے ہیں طومار میں کاغذ [۱۳۰] جیسا سرے سے بنایا تھا ہم نے پہلی بار پھر اُسکو دہرائیں گے وعدہ ضرور ہو چکا ہے ہم پر ہم کو پورا کرنا ہے [۱۳۱]

وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ

Wa laqad katabnaa fiz Zaboori mim ba'diz zikri annal arda yarisuhaa 'ibaadi yas saalihoon

And verily we have written in the Scripture, after the Reminder: My righteous slaves will inherit the earth:

اور ہم نے لکھ دیا ہے زبور میں نصیحت کے پیچھے کہ آخر زمین پر مالک ہوں گے میرے نیک بندے [۱۳۲]

إِنَّ فِى هَٰذَا لَبَلَٰغًۭا لِّقَوْمٍ عَٰبِدِينَ

Inna fee haaza labalaa ghal liqawmin 'aabideen

Lo! there is a plain statement for folk who are devout.

اس میں مطلب کو پہنچتے ہیں لوگ بندگی والے [۱۳۳]

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maaa arsalnaaka illaa rahmatal lil'aalameen

We sent thee not save as a mercy for the peoples.

اور تجھ کو جو ہم نے بھیجا سو مہربانی کر کر جہاں کے لوگوں پر [۱۳۴]

قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Qul innamaa yoohaa ilaiya annamaaa ilaahukum illaahunw Waahid, fahal antum muslimoon

Say: It is only inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah. Will ye then surrender (unto Him)?

تو کہہ مجھ کو تو حکم یہی آیا ہے کہ معبود تمہارا ایک معبود ہے پھر کیا ہو تم حکمبرداری کرنے والے [۱۳۵]

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍۢ ۖ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ

Fa in tawallaw faqul aazantukum 'alaa sawaaa'; wa in adreee aqareebun am ba'eedum maa too'adoon

But if they are averse, then say: I have warned you all alike, although I know not whether nigh or far is that which ye are promised.

پھر اگر وہ منہ موڑیں تو تو کہدے میں نے خبر کر دی تمکو دونوں طرف باربار [۱۳۶] اور میں نہیں جانتا نزدیک ہے یا دور ہے جو تم سے وعدہ ہوا [۱۳۷]

إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ

Innahoo ya'lamul jahra minal qawli wa ya'lamu maa taktumoon

Lo! He knoweth that which is said openly, and that which ye conceal.

وہ رب جانتا ہے جو بات پکار کر کرو اور جانتا ہے جو تم چھپاتے ہو [۱۳۸]

وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ

Wa in adree la'allahoo fitnatul lakum wa mataa'un ilaaheen

And I know not but that this may be a trial for you, and enjoyment for a while.

اور میں نہیں جانتا شاید تاخیر میں تمکو جانچنا ہے اور فائدہ دینا ہے ایک وقت تک [۱۳۹]

قَٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ

Qaala Rabbih kum bil haqq; wa Rabbunar Rahmaa nul musta'aanu 'alaa maa tasifoon

He saith: My Lord! Judge Thou with truth. Our Lord is the Beneficent, Whose help is to be implored against that which ye ascribe (unto Him).

رسول نے کہا اے رب فیصلہ کر انصاف کا [۴۰] اور رب ہمارا رحمٰن ہے اُسی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں اُن باتوں پر جو تم بتلاتے ہو [۱۴۱]
