Ash-Shu'araa

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ طسٓمٓ

Taa-Seeen-Meeem

Ta. Sin. Mim.

طٰسم۔

تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ

Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil Mubeen

These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain.

یہ آیتیں ہیں کھلی کتاب کی [۱]

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

La'allaka baakhi'un nafsaka allaa yakoonoo mu'mineen

It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not.

شاید تو گھونٹ مارے اپنی جان اس بات پر کہ وہ یقین نہیں کرتے [۲]

إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةًۭ فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ

In nashaa nunazzil 'alaihim minas samaaa'i Aayatan fazallat a'naaquhum lahaa khaadi'een

If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it.

اگر ہم چاہیں اتاریں ان پر آسمان سے ایک نشانی پھر رہ جائیں ان کی گردنیں اس کے آگے نیچی [۳]

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ

Wa maa yaateehim min zikrim minar Rahmaani muhdasin illaa kaanoo 'anhu mu'rideen

Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it.

اور نہیں پہنچتی ان کے پاس کوئی نصیحت رحمٰن سے نئی جس سے منہ نہیں موڑتے [۴]

فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Faqad kazzaboo fasa yaateehim ambaaa'u maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon

Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff.

سو یہ تو جھٹلا چکے اب پہنچے گی ان پر حقیقت اس بات کی جس پر ٹھٹھے کرتے تھے [۵]

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ

Awa lam yaraw ilal ardi kam ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjin kareem

Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein?

کیا نہیں دیکھتے وہ زمین کو کتنی اگائیں ہم نے اس میں ہر ایک قسم کی خاصی چیزیں

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inn fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.

اس میں البتہ نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں ماننے والے [۶]

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا [۷]

وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa iz naadaa Rabbuka Moosaaa ani'-til qawmaz zaalimeen

And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk,

اور جب پکارا تیرے رب نے موسٰی کو کہ جا اس قوم گنہگار کے پاس

قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ

Qawma Fir'awn; alaa yattaqoon

The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)?

قوم فرعون کے پاس کیا وہ ڈرتے نہیں [۸]

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ

Qaala Rabbi inneee akhaafu ai yukazziboon

He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me,

بولا اے رب میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ مجھ کو جھٹلائیں

وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ

Wa yadeequ sadree wa laa yantaliqu lisaanee fa arsil ilaa Haaroon

And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me).

اور رک جاتا ہے میرا جی اور نہیں چلتی میری زبان سو پیغام دے ہارون کو [۹]

وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ

Wa lahum 'alaiya zambun fa akhaafu ai yaqtuloon

And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me.

اور انکو مجھ پر ہے ایک گناہ کا دعویٰ [۱۰] سو ڈرتا ہوں کہ مجھ کو مار ڈالیں [۱۱]

قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ

Qaala kallaa fazhabaa bi Aayaatinaaa innaa ma'akum mustami'oon

He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing.

فرمایا کبھی نہیں تم دونوں جاؤ لیکر ہماری نشانیاں ہم ساتھ تمہارے سنتے ہیں [۱۲]

فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Faatiyaa Fir'awna faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolu Rabbil 'aalameen

And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds,

سو جاؤ فرعون کے پاس اور کہو ہم پیغام لے کر آئے ہیں پروردگار عالم کا

أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

An arsil ma'anaa Baneee Israaa'eel

(Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us.

یہ کہ بھیجدے ہمارے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو [۱۳]

قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ

Qaala alam nurabbika feenaa waleedanw wa labista feenaa min 'umurika sineen

(Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us,

بولا کیا نہیں پالا ہم نے تجھ کو اپنے اندر لڑکا سا [۱۴] اور رہا تو ہم میں اپنی عمر میں سے کئ برس [۱۵]

وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Wa fa'alta fa'latakal latee fa'alta wa anta minal kaafireen

And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates.

اور کر گیا تو اپنی وہ کرتوت جو کر گیا [۱۶] اور تو ہے ناشکر [۱۷]

قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًۭا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

Qaala fa'altuhaaa izanw wa ana minad daaaleen

He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.

کہا کیا تو تھا میں نے وہ کام اور میں تھا چوکنے والا [۱۸]

فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًۭا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Fafarartu minkum lam maa khiftukum fawahaba lee Rabbee hukmanw wa ja'alanee minal mursaleen

Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).

پھر بھاگا میں تم سے جب تمہارا ڈر دیکھا پھر بخشا مجھ کو میرے رب نے حکم اور ٹھہرایا مجھ کو پیغام پہنچانے والا [۱۹]

وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌۭ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Wa tilka ni'matun tamun nuhaa 'alaiya an 'abbatta Baneee Israaa'eel

And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.

اور کیا وہ احسان ہے جو تو مجھ پر رکھتا ہے کہ غلام بنایا تو نے بنی اسرائیل کو [۲۰]

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaala Fir'awnu wa maa Rabbul 'aalameen

Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds?

بولا فرعون کیا معنی پروردگار عالم کا [۲۱]

قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ

Qaala Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa in kuntum mooqineen

(Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief.

کہا پروردگار آسمان اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ انکے بیچ میں ہے اگر تم یقین کرو [۲۲]

قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ

Qaala liman hawlahooo alaa tastami'oon

(Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not?

بولا اپنے گرد والوں سے کیا تم نہیں سنتے ہو [۲۳]

قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Qaala Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen

He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers.

کہا پروردگار تمہارا اور پروردگار تمہارے اگلے باپ دادوں کا [۲۴]

قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ

Qaala inna Rasoolakumul lazee ursila ilaikum lamajnoon

(Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman!

بولا تمہارا پیغام لانے والا جو تمہاری طرف بھیجا گیا ضرور باؤلا ہے [۲۵]

قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Qaala Rabbul mashriqi wal maghribi wa maa baina humaa in kuntum ta'qiloon

He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand.

کہا پروردگار مشرق کا اور مغرب کا اور جو کچھ ان کے بیچ میں ہے اگر تم سمجھ رکھتے ہو [۲۶]

قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ

Qaala la'init takhazta ilaahan ghairee la aj'alannaka minal masjooneen

(Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners.

بولا اگر تو نے ٹھہرایا کوئی اور حاکم میرے سوائے تو مقرر (ضرور) ڈالوں گا تجھ کو قید میں [۲۷]

قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Qaala awalw ji'tuka bishai'im mubeen

He said: Even though I show thee something plain?

کہا اور اگر لیکر آیا ہوں تیرے پاس ایک چیز کھول دینے والی [۲۸]

قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Qaala faati biheee in kunta minas saadiqeen

(Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful!

بولا تو وہ چیز لا اگر تو سچ کہتا ہے

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Fa alqaa 'asaahu fa izaaa hiya su'baanum mubeen

Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest,

پھر ڈال دیا اپنا عصا سو اسی وقت وہ اژدھا ہو گیا صریح

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

Wa naza'a yadahoo faizaa hiya baidaaa'u linnaa zireen

And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders.

اور اندر (بغل) سے نکالا اپنا ہاتھ سو اسی وقت وہ سفید تھا دیکھنے والوں کے سامنے

قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ

Qaala lilmala-i hawlahooo inna haazaa lasaahirun 'aleem

(Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard,

بولا اپنے گرد کے سرداروں سے یہ تو کوئی جادوگر ہے پڑھا ہوا

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

Yureedu ai yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihee famaazaa taamuroon

Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye?

چاہتا ہے کہ نکال دے تم کو تمہارے دیس سے اپنے جادو کے زور سے سو اب کیا حکم دیتے ہو [۲۹]

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ

Qaalooo arjih wa akhaahu wab'as filmadaaa'ini haashireen

They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners

بولے ڈھیل دے اسکو اور اسکے بھائی کو اور بھیجدے شہروں میں نقیب

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍۢ

Yaatooka bikulli sah haarin 'aleem

Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard.

لے آئیں تیرے پاس جو بڑا جادوگر ہو پڑھا ہوا

فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ

Fa jumi'as saharatu limeeqaati Yawmim ma'loom

So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed.

پھر اکٹھے کئے جادوگر وعدہ پر ایک مقرر دن کے [۳۰]

وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ

Wa qeela linnaasi hal antum mujtami'oon

And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering?

اور کہہ دیا لوگوں کو کیا تم بھی اکٹھے ہو گئے

لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ

La'allanaa nattabi'us saharata in kaanoo humul ghaalibeen

(They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners.

شاید ہم راہ قبول کر لیں جادوگروں کی اگر ہو ان کو غلبہ [۳۱]

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ

Falammaa jaaa'as saharatu qaaloo li Fir'awna a'inna lanaa la ajjran in kunnaa nahnul ghaalibeen

And when the wizards came they said unto Pharaoh: Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners?

پھر جب آئے جادوگر کہنے لگےفرعون سے بھلا کچھ ہمارا حق بھی ہے اگر ہو ہم کو غلبہ

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

Qaala na'am wa innakum izal laminal muqarrabeen

He said: Aye, and ye will then surely be of those brought near (to me).

بولا البتہ (ہاں) اور تم اس وقت مقربوں (مصاحبوں) میں ہو گے [۳۲]

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ

Qaala lahum Moosaaa alqoo maaa antum mulqoon

Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw!

کہا ان کو موسٰی نے ڈالو جو تم ڈالتے ہو [۳۳]

فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ

Fa alqaw hibaalahum wa 'isiyyahum wa qaaloo bi'izzati Fir'awna innaa lanahnul ghaaliboon

Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners.

پھر ڈالیں انہوں نے اپنی رسیاں اور لاٹھیاں اور بولے فرعون کے اقبال سے ہماری ہی فتح ہے [۳۴]

فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

Fa alqaa Moosaa 'asaahu fa izaa hiya talqafu maa yaafikoon

Then Moses threw his staff and lo! it swallowed that which they did falsely show.

پھر ڈالا موسٰی نے اپنا عصا پھر تبھی وہ نگلنے لگا جو سانگ انہوں نے بنایا تھا [۳۵]

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ

Fa ulqiyas saharatu saajideen

And the wizards were flung prostrate,

پھر اوندھے گرے جادوگر سجدہ میں

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbil 'aalameen

Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,

بولے ہم نے مان لیا جہان کے رب کو

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ

Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon

The Lord of Moses and Aaron.

جو رب ہے موسٰی اور ہارون کا

قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Qaala aamantum lahoo qabla an aazana lakum innahoo lakabeerukumul lazee 'alla makumus sihra falasawfa ta'lamoon; la uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafinw wa la usallibanna kum ajma'een

(Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one.

بولا تم نے اسکو مان لیا ابھی میں نے حکم نہیں دیا تم کو مقرر (بیشک) وہ تمہارا بڑا ہے جس نے تم کو سکھلایا جادو [۳۶] سو اب معلوم کر لو گے البتہ کاٹوں گا تمہارے ہاتھ اور دوسری طرف کے پاؤں اور سولی چڑھاؤں گا تم سب کو

قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ

Qaaloo la daira innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqalliboon

They said: It is no hurt, for lo! unto our Lord we shall return.

بولے کچھ ڈر نہیں ہم کو اپنے رب کی طرف پھر جانا ہے [۳۷]

إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Innaa natma'u ai yaghfira lanaa Rabbunna khataa yaanaaa an kunnaaa awwalal mu'mineen

Lo! we ardently hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we are the first of the believers.

ہم غرض رکھتے ہیں کہ بخش دے ہم کو رب ہمارا تقصیریں ہماری اس واسطے کہ ہم ہوئے پہلے قبول کرنے والے [۳۸]

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ

Wa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an asri bi'ibaadeee innakum muttaba'oon

And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued.

اور حکم بھیجا ہم نے موسٰی کو کہ رات کو لے نکل میرے بندوں کو البتہ تمہارا پیچھا کریں گے [۳۹]

فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ

Fa arsala Fir'awnu filmadaaa'ini haashireen

Then Pharaoh sent into the cities summoners,

پھر بھیجے فرعون نے شہروں میں نقیب [۴۰]

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ

Inna haaa'ulaaa'i lashir zimatun qaleeloon

(Who said): Lo! these indeed are but a little troop,

یہ لوگ جو ہیں سو ایک جماعت ہے تھوڑی سی [۴۱]

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ

Wa innahum lanaa laghaaa'izoon

And lo! they are offenders against us.

اور وہ مقرر ہم سے دل جلے ہوئے ہیں [۴۲]

وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ

Wa innaa lajamee'un haaziroon

And lo! we are a ready host.

اور ہم سارے ان سے خطرہ رکھتے ہیں [۴۳]

فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

Fa akhrajnaahum min Jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings,

پھر نکال باہر کیا ہم نے ان کو باغوں اور چشموں سے

وَكُنُوزٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ

Wa kunoozinw wa ma qaamin kareem

And treasures and a fair estate.

اور خزانوں اور عمدہ مکانوں سے اسی طرح [۴۴]

كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa Baneee Israaa'eel

Thus (were those things taken from them) and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them.

اور ہاتھ لگا دیں ہم نے یہ چیزیں بنی اسرائیل کے [۴۵]

فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ

Fa atba'oohum mushriqeen

And they overtook them at sunrise.

پھر پیچھے پڑے ان کے سورج کے نکلنے کے وقت

فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ

Falammaa taraaa'al jam'aani qaala as haabu Moosaaa innaa lamudrakoon

And when the two hosts saw each other, those with Moses said: Lo! we are indeed caught.

پھر جب مقابل ہوئیں دونوں فوجیں کہنے لگے موسٰی کے لوگ ہم تو پکڑے گئے [۴۶]

قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ

Qaala kallaaa inna ma'iya Rabbee sa yahdeen

He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.

کہا ہرگز نہیں میرے ساتھ ہے میرا رب وہ مجھ کو راہ بتلائے گا [۴۷]

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍۢ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Fa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa anidrib bi'asaakal bahra fanfalaqa fakaana kullu firqin kattawdil 'azeem

Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast.

پھر حکم بھیجا ہم نے موسٰی کو کہ مار اپنے عصا سے دریا کو پھر دریا پھٹ گیا تو ہو گئ ہر پھانگ جیسے بڑا پہاڑ [۴۸]

وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ

Wa azlafnaa sammal aakhareen

Then brought We near the others to that place.

اور پاس پہنچا دیا ہم نے اسی جگہ دوسروں کو

وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ

Wa anjainaa Moosaa wa mam ma'ahooo ajma'een

And We saved Moses and those with him, every one;

اور بچا دیا ہم نے موسٰی کو اور جو لوگ تھے اس کے ساتھ سب کو

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ

Summa aghraqnal aakhareen

And We drowned the others.

پھر ڈبا دیا ہم نے ان دوسروں کو [۴۹]

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaru hu mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

اس چیز میں ایک نشانی ہے اور نہیں تھے بہت لوگ ان میں ماننے والے [۵۰]

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا [۵۱]

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Watlu 'alaihim naba-a Ibraaheem

Recite unto them the story of Abraham:

اور سنا دے ان کو خبر ابراہیم کی

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ

Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa ta'budoon

When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye?

جب کہا اپنے باپ کو اور اس کی قوم کو تم کس کو پوجتے ہو [۵۲]

قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ

Qaaloo na'budu asnaaman fanazallu lahaa 'aakifeen

They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them.

وہ بولے ہم پوجتے ہیں مورتوں کو پھر سارے دن انہی کے پاس لگے بیٹھے رہتے ہیں [۵۳]

قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ

Qaala hal yasma'oona kum iz tad'oon

He said: Do they hear you when ye cry?

کہا کچھ سنتے ہیں تمہارا کہا جب تم پکارتے ہو [۵۴]

أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ

Aw yanfa'oonakum aw yadurroon

Or do they benefit or harm you?

یا کچھ بھلا کرتے ہیں تمہارا یا برا [۵۵]

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

Qaaloo bal wajadnaaa aabaaa 'anaa kazaalika yaf'aloon

They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise.

بولے نہیں پر ہم نے پایا اپنے باپ دادوں کو یہی کام کرتے [۵۶]

قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ

Qaala afara 'aitum maa kuntum ta'budoon

He said: See now that which ye worship,

کہا بھلا دیکھتے ہو جن کو پوجتے رہے ہو

أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ

Antum wa aabaaa'ukumul aqdamoon

Ye and your forefathers!

تم اور تمہارے باپ دادے اگلے [۵۷]

فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Fa innahum 'aduwwwul leee illaa Rabbal 'aalameen

Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds,

سو وہ میرے غنیم ہیں [۵۸] مگر جہان کا رب [۵۹]

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ

Allazee khalaqanee fa Huwa yahdeen

Who created me, and He doth guide me,

جس نے مجھ کو بنایا سو وہی مجھ کو راہ دکھلاتا ہے [۶۰]

وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ

Wallazee Huwa yut'imunee wa yasqeen

And Who feedeth me and watereth me.

اور وہ جو مجھ کو کھلاتا ہے اور پلاتا ہے

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ

Wa izaa mardtu fahuwa yashfeen

And when I sicken, then He healeth me,

اور جب میں بیمار ہوں تو وہی شفا دیتا ہے

وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ

Wallazee yumeetunee summa yuhyeen

And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again),

اور ہ جو مجھ کو مارے گا پھر جلائے گا [۶۱]

وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

Wallazeee atma'u ai yaghfira lee khateee' atee Yawmad Deen

And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment.

اور وہ جو مجھ کو توقع ہے کہ بخشے میری تقصیر انصاف کے دن [۶۲]

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Rabbi hab lee hukmanw wa alhiqnee bis saaliheen

My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous.

اے میرے رب دے مجھ کو حکم اور ملا مجھ کو نیکوں میں [۶۳]

وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

Waj'al lee lisaana sidqin fil aakhireen

And give unto me a good report in later generations.

اور رکھ میرا بول سچا پچھلوں میں [۶۴]

وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

Waj'alnee minw warasati Jannnatin Na'eem

And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight,

اور کر مجھ کو وارثوں میں نعمت کے باغ کے [۶۵]

وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

Waghfir li abeee innahoo kaana mind daalleen

And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err.

اور معاف کر میرے باپ کو وہ تھا راہ بھولے ہوؤں میں [۶۶]

وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ

Wa laa tukhzinee Yawma yub'asoon

And abase me not on the day when they are raised,

اور رسوا نہ کر مجھ کو کہ جس دن سب جی کر اٹھیں گے

يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ

Yawma laa yanfa'u maalunw wa laa banoon

The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man)

جس دن نہ کام آئے کوئی مال اور نہ بیٹے

إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ

Illaa man atal laaha biqalbin saleem

Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart.

مگر جو کوئی آیا اللہ کے پاس لیکر دل چنگا [۶۷]

وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Wa uzlifatil Jannatu lilmuttaqeen

And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil).

اور پاس لائیں بہشت کو واسطے ڈر والوں کے

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ

Wa burrizatil Jaheemu lilghaaween

And hell will appear plainly to the erring.

اور نکالیں دوزخ کو سامنے بے را ہوں کے [۶۸]

وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ

Wa qeela lahum aina maa kuntum ta'budoon

And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship

اور کہیں ان کو کہاں ہیں جن کو تم پوجتے تھے

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ

Min doonil laahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroon

Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?

اللہ کے سوائے کیا کچھ مدد کرتے ہیں تمہاری یا بدلہ لے سکتے ہیں [۶۹]

فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ

Fakubkiboo feehaa hum walghaawoon

Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers

پھر اوندھے ڈالیں اس میں انکو اور سب بے راہوں کو

وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ

Wa junoodu Ibleesa ajma'oon

And the hosts of Iblis, together.

اور ابلیس کے لشکر کو سبہوں کو

قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ

Qaaloo wa hum feehaa yakkhtasimoon

And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein:

کہیں گے جب وہ وہاں باہم جھگڑنے لگیں

تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ

Tallaahi in kunnaa lafee dalaalim mubeen

By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest

قسم اللہ کی ہم تھے صریح غلطی میں

إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Iz nusawweekum bi Rabbil 'aalameen

When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds.

جب ہم تم کو برابر کرتے تھے پروردگار عالم کے

وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

Wa maaa adallanaaa illal mujrimoon

It was but the guilty who misled us.

اور ہم کو راہ سے بہکایا سو ان گنہگاروں نے

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ

Famaa lanaa min shaa fi'een

Now we have no intercessors

پھر کوئی نہیں ہماری سفارش کرنے والے

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ

Wa laa sadeeqin hameem

Nor any loving friend.

اور نہ کوئی دوست محبت کرنے والا [۷۰]

فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Falaw anna lanaa karratan fanakoona minal mu'mineen

Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers!

سو کسی طرح ہم کو پھر جانا ملے تو ہم ہوں ایمان والوں میں [۷۱]

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inna fee zaalika la Aayatanw wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers!

اس بات میں نشانی ہے اور بہت لوگ ان میں نہیں ماننے والے [۷۲]

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Kazzabat qawmu Noohinil Mursaleen

Noah's folk denied the messengers (of Allah),

جھٹلایا نوح کی قوم نے پیغام لانے والوں کو

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Noohun alaa tattaqoon

When their brother Noah said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

جب کہا ان کو ان کے بھائی نوح نے کیا تم کو ڈر نہیں

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen

Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,

میں تمہارے واسطے پیغام لانے والا ہوں

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqullaaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.

معتبر سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو [۷۳]

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen

And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.

اور مانگتا نہیں میں تم سے اس پر کچھ بدلہ میرا بدلہ ہے اسی پروردگار عالم پر

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو [۷۴]

۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ

Qaalooo anu'minu laka wattaba 'akal arzaloon

They said: Shall we put faith in thee, when the lowest (of the people) follow thee?

بولے کیا ہم تجھ کو مان لیں اور تیرے ساتھ ہو رہے ہیں کمینے [۷۵]

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Qaala wa maa 'ilmee bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon

He said: And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing (in the past)?

کہا مجھ کو کیا جاننا ہے اس کو جو کام وہ کر رہے ہیں

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ

In hisaabuhum illaa 'alaa Rabbee law tash'uroon

Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew;

ان کا حساب پوچھنا میرے رب کا ہی کام ہے اگر تم سمجھ رکھتے ہو

وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa maaa ana bitaaridil mu'mineen

And I am not (here) to repulse believers.

اور میں ہانکنے والا نہیں ایمان لانے والوں کو [۷۶]

إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

In ana illaa nazeerum mubeen

I am only a plain warner.

میں تو بس یہی ڈر سنا دینے والا ہوں کھول کر [۷۷]

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ

Qaaloo la'il lam tantahi yaa Noohu latakoonanna minal marjoomeen

They said: If thou cease not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be among those stoned (to death).

بولے اگر تو نہ چھوڑے گا اے نوح تو ضرور سنگسار کر دیا جائے گا [۷۸]

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ

Qaala Rabbi inna qawmee kazzaboon

He said: My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me.

کہا اے رب میری قوم نے تو مجھکو جھٹلا دیا

فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Faftab bainee wa bai nahum fat hanw wa najjinee wa mam ma'iya minal mu'mineen

Therefor judge Thou between us, a (conclusive) judgment, and save me and those believers who are with me.

سو فیصلہ کر دے میرے انکے بیچ میں کسی طرح کا فیصلہ [۷۹] اور بچا لے میرے ساتھ ہیں ایمان والے [۸۰]

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ

Fa anjainaahu wa mamma'ahoo fil fulkil mashhoon

And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.

پھر بچا دیا ہم نے اسکو اور جو اس کےساتھ تھے اس لدی ہوئی کشتی میں

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ

Summa aghraqnaa ba'dul baaqeen

Then afterward We drowned the others.

پھر ڈبا دیا ہم نے اس کے پیچھے ان باقی رہے ہوؤں کو [۸۱]

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

البتہ اس بات میں نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں ہیں ماننے والے

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Kazzabat 'Aadunil mursaleen

(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah).

جھٹلایا عاد نے پیغام لانے والوں کو

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Hoodun alaa tattaqoon

When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

جب کہا ان کو ان کےبھائی ہود نے کیا تم کو ڈر نہیں

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen

Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,

میں تمہارے پاس پیغام لانے والا معتبر ہوں

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqullaaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen

And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.

اور نہیں مانگتا میں تم سے اس پر کچھ بدلہ میرا بدلہ ہے اسی جہان کےمالک پر

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةًۭ تَعْبَثُونَ

Atabnoona bikulli ree'in aayatan ta'basoon

Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight?

کیا بناتے ہو ہر اونچی زمین پر ایک نشان کھیلنے کو

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ

Wa tattakhizoona masaani'a la'allakum takhludoon

And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever?

اور بناتے ہو کاریگریاں شاید تم ہمیشہ رہو گے [۸۲]

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ

Wa izaa batashtum batashtum jabbaareen

And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants?

اور جب ہاتھ ڈالتے ہو تو پنجہ مارتے ہو ظلم سے

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو [۸۳]

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Wattaqul lazeee amad dakum bimaa ta'lamoon

Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know,

اور ڈرو اس سے جس نے تم کو پہنچائیں وہ چیزیں جو تم جانتے ہو

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍۢ وَبَنِينَ

Amaddakum bi an'aa minw wa baneen

Hath aided you with cattle and sons.

پہنچائے تم کو چوپائے اور بیٹے

وَجَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ

Wa jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

And gardens and watersprings.

اور باغ اور چشمے

إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

Innee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin 'azeem

Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day.

میں ڈرتا ہوں تم پر ایک بڑے دن کی آفت سے [۸۴]

قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ

Qaaloo sawaaa'un 'alainaaa awa 'azta am lam takum minal waa'izeen

They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach;

بولے ہم کو برابر ہے تو نصیحت کرے یا نہ بنے تو نصیحت کرنے والا

إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

In haazaaa illaa khuluqul awwaleen

This is but a fable of the men of old,

اور کچھ نہیں یہ باتیں عادت ہے اگلے لوگوں کی

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

Wa maa nahnu bimu 'azzabeen

And we shall not be doomed.

اور ہم پر آفت نہیں آنے والی [۸۵]

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Fakazzaboohu fa ahlaknaahum; inna fee zaalika la aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

پھر اسکو جھٹلانے لگے تو ہم نے انکو غارت کر دیا [۸۶] اس بات میں البتہ نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں ماننے والے

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Kazzabat Samoodul mursaleen

(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah)

جھٹلایا ثمود نے پیغام لانے والوں کو

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Saalihun alaa tattaqoon

When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

جب کہا ان کو انکے بھائی صالح نے کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen

Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,

میں تمہارے پاس پیغام لانے والا ہوں معتبر

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen

And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.

اور نہیں مانگتا میں تم سے اس پر کچھ بدلہ میرا بدلہ ہے اسی جہان کے پالنے والے پر

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ

Atutrakoona fee maa haahunnaaa aamineen

Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us,

کیا چھوڑے رکھیں گے تم کو یہاں کی چیزوں میں بے کھٹکے

فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

Fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

In gardens and watersprings.

باغوں میں اور چشموں میں

وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَنَخْلٍۢ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌۭ

Wa zuroo inw wa nakhlin tal 'uhaa hadeem

And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees,

اور کھیتوں میں اور کھجوروں میں جن کا گابھا ملائم ہے

وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَٰرِهِينَ

Wa tanhitoona minal jibaali buyootan faariheen

Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful?

اور تراشتے ہو پہاڑوں کے گھر تکلف کے

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me,

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو [۸۷]

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

Wa laa tutee'ooo amral musrifeen

And obey not the command of the prodigal,

اورنہ مانو حکم بیباک لوگوں کا

ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ

Allazeena yufsidoona fil ardi wa laa yuslihoon

Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not.

جو خرابی کرتے ہیں ملک میں اور اصلاح نہیں کرتے [۸۸]

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ

Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen

They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;

بولے تجھ پر تو کسی نے جادو کیا ہے

مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa faati bi Aayatin in kunta minas saadiqeen

Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful.

توبھی ایک آدمی ہے جیسے ہم [۸۹] سو لے آ کچھ نشانی اگر تو سچا ہے [۹۰]

قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌۭ لَّهَا شِرْبٌۭ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ

Qaala haazihee naaqatul lahaa shirbunw w alakum shirbu yawmim ma'loom

He said: (Behold) this she-camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day.

کہا یہ اونٹنی ہے اسکے لئے پانی پینے کی ایک باری اور تمہارے لئے باری ایک دن کی مقرر [۹۱]

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

Wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo'in fa yaakhuzakum 'azaabu Yawmin 'Azeem

And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day.

اور مت چھیڑیو اس کو بری طرح سے پھر پکڑ لے تم کو آفت ایک بڑے دن کی [۹۲]

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ

Fa'aqaroohaa fa asbahoo naadimeen

But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent.

پھر کاٹ ڈالا اس اونٹنی کو پھر کل کو رہ گئے پچتاتے [۹۳]

فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Fa akhazahumul 'azaab; inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum m'mineen

So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

پھر آ پکڑا ان کو عذاب نے البتہ اس بات میں نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں ماننے والے

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم کرنے والا

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

kazzabat qawmu Lootinil mursaleen

The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah),

جھٹلایا لوط کی قوم نے پیغام لانے والوں کو

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Lootun alaa tattaqoon

When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

جب کہا ان کو انکے بھائی لوط نے کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

Innee lakum rasoolun ameen

Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,

میں تمہارے لئے پیغام لانے والا ہوں معتبر

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen

And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.

اور مانگتا نہیں میں تم سے اس کا کچھ بدلہ میرا بدلہ ہے اسی پروردگار عالم پر

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Ataatoonaz zukraana minal 'aalameen

What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males,

کیا تم دوڑتے ہو جہان کے مردوں پر [۹۴]

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ

Wa tazaroona maa khalaqa lakum Rabbukum min azwaajikum; bal antum qawmun 'aadoon

And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk.

اور چھوڑتے ہو جو تمہارے واسطے بنا دی ہیں تمہارے رب نے تمہاری جوروئیں بلکہ تم لوگ ہو حد سے بڑھنے والے [۹۵]

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ

Qaloo la'il lam tantahi yaa Lootu latakoonanna minal mukhrajeen

They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast.

بولے اگر نہ چھوڑے گا تو اے لوط تو تُو نکال دیا جائے گا [۹۶]

قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ

Qaala innee li'amalikum minal qaaleen

He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct.

کہا میں تمہارے کام سے البتہ بیزار ہوں [۹۷]

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ

Rabbi najjjinee wa ahlee mimmmaa ya'maloon

My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do.

اے رب خلاص کر مجھ کو اور میرے گھر والوں کو ان کاموں سے جو یہ کرتے ہیں [۹۸]

فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ

Fanajjainaahu wa ahlahooo ajma'een

So We saved him and his household, every one,

پھر بچا دیا ہم نے اسکو اور اس کے گھر والوں کو سب کو

إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ

Illaa 'ajoozan filghaabireen

Save an old woman among those who stayed behind.

مگر ایک بڑھیا رہ گئ رہنے والوں میں [۹۹]

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ

Summa dammarnal aa khareen

Then afterward We destroyed the others.

پھر اٹھا مارا ہم نے ان دوسروں کو

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

Wa amtarnaa 'alaihim mataran fasaaa'a matarul munzareen

And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.

اور برسایا ان پرایک برساؤ سو کیا برا برساؤ تھا ان ڈرائے ہوؤں کا [۱۰۰]

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

البتہ اس میں نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں تھے ماننے والے

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Kazzaba As haabul Aykatil mursaleen

The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah),

جھٹلایا بن کے رہنے والوں نے پیغام لانے والوں کو [۱۰۱]

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Iz qaala lahum Shu'aybun alaa tattaqoon

When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

جب کہا ان کو شعیب نے کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen

Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,

میں تم کو پیغام پہنچانے والا ہوں معتبر

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa 'alaa Rabbil 'aalameen

And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.

اور نہیں مانگتا میں تم سے اس پر کچھ بدلہ میرا بدلہ ہے اسی پروردگار عالم پر

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ

Awful kaila wa laa takoonoo minal mukhsireen

Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due).

پورا بھر کر دو ماپ اور مت ہو نقصان دینے والے

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ

Wa zinoo bilqistaasil mustaqeem

And weigh with the true balance.

اور تولو سیدھی ترازو سے [۱۰۲]

وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

Wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaaa 'ahum wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen

Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth.

اور مت گھٹا دو لوگوں کو ان کی چیزیں اور مت دوڑو ملک میں خرابی ڈالتے ہوئے [۱۰۳]

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Wattaqul lazee khalaqakum waljibillatal awwaleen

And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old.

اور ڈرو اس سے جس نے بنایا تم کو اور اگلی خلقت کو

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ

Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen

They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;

بولے تجھ پر تو کسی نے جادو کر دیا ہے

وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

Wa maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa wa innazunnuka laminal kaazibeen

Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars.

اور تو بھی ایک آدمی ہے جیسے ہم اور ہمارے خیال میں تو تُو جھوٹا ہے [۱۰۴]

فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Fa asqit 'alainaa kisafam minas samaaa'i in kunta minas saadiqeen

Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful.

سو گرا دے ہم پر کوئی ٹکڑا آسمان کا اگر تو سچا ہے [۱۰۵]

قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

Qaala Rabbeee a'lamu bimaa ta'maloon

He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do.

کہا میرا رب خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو [۱۰۶]

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Fakazzaboohu fa akhazahum 'azaabu Yawmiz zullah; innahoo kaana 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem

But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day.

پھر اس کو جھٹلایا پھر پکڑ لیا ان کو آفت نے سائبان والے دن کی بیشک وہ تھا عذاب بڑے دن کا [۱۰۷]

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu'mineen

Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.

البتہ اس بات میں نشانی ہے اور ان میں بہت لوگ نہیں ماننے والے

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal 'Azeezur Raheem

And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور تیرا رب وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa innahoo latanzeelu Rabbil 'aalameen

And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds,

اور یہ قرآن ہے اتارا ہوا پروردگار عالم کا

نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ

Nazala bihir Roohul Ameen

Which the True Spirit hath brought down

لیکر اترا ہے اسکو فرشتہ معتبر

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ

'Alaa qalbika litakoona minal munzireen

Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners,

ترے دل پر کہ تو ہو ڈر سنادینے والا [۱۰۸]

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Bilisaanin 'Arabiyyim mubeen

In plain Arabic speech.

کھلی عربی زبان میں [۱۰۹]

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Wa innahoo lafee Zuburil awwaleen

And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old.

اور یہ لکھا ہے پہلوں کی کتابوں میں [۱۱۰]

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Awalam yakul lahum Aayatan ai ya'lamahoo 'ulamaaa'u Baneee Israaa'eel

Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it?

کیا انکے واسطے نشانی نہیں یہ بات کہ اسکی خبر رکھتے ہیں پڑھے لوگ بنی اسرائیل کے [۱۱۱]

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ

Wa law nazzalnaahu 'alaa ba'dil a'jameen

And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs,

اور اگر اتارتے ہم یہ کتاب کسی اوپری (دوسری) زبان والے پر

فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Faqara ahoo 'alaihim maa kaanoo bihee mu'mineen

And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it.

اور وہ اسکو پڑھ کر سناتا تو بھی اس پر یقین نہ لاتے [۱۱۲]

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Kazaalika salaknaahu fee quloobil mujrimeen

Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty.

اسی طرح گھسا دیا ہم نے اس انکار کو گنہگاروں کے دل میں

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ

Laa yu'minoona bihee hattaa yarawul 'azaabal aleem

They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom,

وہ نہ مانیں گے اس کو جب تک نہ دیکھ لیں گےعذاب دردناک [۱۱۳]

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Fayaatiyahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon

So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not.

پھر آئے ان پر اچانک اور انکو خبر بھی نہ ہو

فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ

Fa yaqooloo hal nahnu munzaroon

Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved?

پھر کہنے لگیں کچھ بھی ہم کو فرصت ملے گی [۱۱۴]

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Aafabi 'azaabinaa yasta'jiloon

Would they (now) hasten on Our doom?

کیا ہمارے عذاب کو جلد مانگتے ہیں

أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ

Aara'aita im matta'naahum sineen

Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years,

بھلا دیکھ تو اگر فائدہ پہنچاتے رہیں ہم انکو برسوں

ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ

Summa jaaa'ahum maa kaanoo yoo'adoon

And then cometh that which they were promised,

پھر پہنچے ان پر جس چیز کا ان سے وعدہ تھا

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ

Maaa aghnaaa 'anhum maa kaanoo yumaatoo'oon

(How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them?

تو کیا کام آئے گا ان کے جو کچھ فائدے اٹھاتے رہے [۱۱۵]

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ

Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa lahaa munziroon

And We destroyed no township but it had its warners

اور کوئی بستی نہیں غارت کی ہم نے جس کے لئے نہیں تھے ڈر سنادینے والے

ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Zikraa wa maa kunnaa zaalimeen

For reminder, for We never were oppressors.

یاد دلانے کو اور ہمارا کام نہیں ہے ظلم کرنا [۱۱۶]

وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ

Wa maa tanazzalat bihish Shayaateen

The devils did not bring it down.

اور اس قرآن کو نہیں لیکر اترے شیطان

وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

Wa maa yambaghee lahum wa maa yastatee'oon

It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power,

اور نہ ان سے بن آئے اور نہ وہ کر سکیں [۱۱۷]

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ

Innahum 'anis sam'i lama'zooloon

Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing.

ان کو تو سننے کی جگہ سے دور کر دیا ہے [۱۱۸]

فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ

Falaa tad'u ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara fatakoona minal mu'azzabeen

Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed.

سو تو مت پکار اللہ کے ساتھ دوسرا معبود پھر تو پڑے عذاب میں [۱۱۹]

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ

Wa anzir 'asheeratakal aqrabeen

And warn thy tribe of near kindred,

اور ڈر سنا دے اپنے قریب کے رشتہ داروں کو [۱۲۰]

وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wakhfid janaahaka limanit taba 'aka minal mu'mineen

And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee.

اور اپنے بازو نیچے رکھ انکے واسطے جو تیرے ساتھ ہیں ایمان والے [۱۲۱]

فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Fa in asawka faqul innee bareee'um mimmmaa ta'maloon

And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do.

پھر اگر تیری نافرمانی کریں تو کہہ دے میں بیزار ہوں تمہارے کام سے [۱۲۲]

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Wa tawakkal alal 'Azeezir Raheem

And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful.

اور بھروسہ کر اس زبردست رحم والے پر [۱۲۳]

ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ

Allazee yaraaka heena taqoom

Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray)

جو دیکھتا ہے تجھ کو جب تو اٹھتا ہے

وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ

Wa taqallubaka fis saajideen

And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship).

اور تیرا پھرنا نمازیوں میں [۱۲۴]

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Innahoo Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem

Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower.

بیشک وہی ہے سننے والا جاننے والا

هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ

Hal unabbi'ukum 'alaa man tanazzalush Shayaateen

Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?

میں بتلاؤں تم کو کس پر اترتے ہیں شیطان

تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ

Tanazzalu 'alaa kulli affaakin aseem

They descend on every sinful, false one.

اترتے ہیں ہر جھوٹے گنہگار پر [۱۲۵]

يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ

Yulqoonas sam'a wa aksaruhum aaziboon

They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars.

لا ڈالتے ہیں سنی ہوئی بات اور بہت ان میں جھوٹے ہیں [۱۲۶]

وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ

Washshu 'araaa'u yattabi 'uhumul ghaawoon

As for poets, the erring follow them.

اور شاعروں کی بات پر چلیں وہی جو بے راہ ہیں [۱۲۷]

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍۢ يَهِيمُونَ

Alam tara annahum fee kulli waadiny yaheemoon

Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley,

تو نے نہیں دیکھا کہ وہ ہر میدان میں سر مارے پھرتے ہیں [۱۲۸]

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Wa annahum yaqooloona ma laa yaf'aloon

And how they say that which they do not?

اور یہ کہ وہ کہتے ہیں جو نہیں کرتے [۱۲۹]

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ

Illal lazeena aamanoo w a'amilus saalihaati wa zakarul laaha kaseeranw wantasaroo mim ba'di maa zulimoo; wa saya'lamul lazeena zalamooo aiya munqalbiny yanqaliboon

Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned!

مگر وہ لوگ جو یقین لائے اور کام کئے اچھے اور یاد کی اللہ کی بہت اور بدلہ لیا اس کے پیچھے کہ ان پر ظلم ہوا [۱۳۰] اور اب معلوم کر لیں گے ظلم کرنے والے کہ کس کروٹ الٹتے ہیں [۱۳۱]
