Aal-i-Imraan

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓمٓ

Alif-Laam-Meeem

Alim. Lam. Mim.

الم

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ

Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom

Allah! There is no god save Him, the Alive, the Eternal.

اللہ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں زندہ ہے سب کا تھامنے والا [۱]

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

Nazzala 'alaikal Kitaaba bilhaqqi musaddiqal limaa baina yadaihi wa anzalat Tawraata wal Injeel

He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

اتاری تجھ پر کتاب سچی [۲] تصدیق کرتی ہے اگلی کتابوں کی اور اتارا توریت اور انجیل کو

مِن قَبْلُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۭ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌۭ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

Min qablu hudal linnaasi wa anzalal Furqaan; innallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi lahum 'azaabun shadeed; wallaahu 'azeezun zun tiqaam

Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and hath revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong). Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).

اس کتاب سے پہلے لوگوں کی ہدایت کے لئے [۳] اور اتارے فیصلے [۴] بیشک جو منکر ہوئے اللہ کی آیتوں سے انکے واسطے سخت عذاب ہے اور اللہ زبردست ہے بدلا لینے والا [۵]

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Innal laaha laa yakhfaa 'alaihi shai'un fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa'

Lo! nothing in the earth or in the heavens is hidden from Allah.

اللہ پر چھپی نہیں کوئی چیز زمین میں اور نہ آسمان میں [۶]

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Huwal lazee yusawwirukum fil arhaami kaifa yashaaa'; laa ilaaha illaa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

He it is Who fashioneth you in the wombs as pleaseth Him. There is no Allah save Him, the Almighty, the Wise.

وہی تمہارا نقشہ بناتا ہے ماں کے پیٹ میں جس طرح چاہے کسی کی بندگی نہیں اسکے سوا زبردست ہے حکمت والا [۷]

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌۭ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌۭ ۖ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌۭ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّۭ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

Huwal lazeee anzala 'alaikal Kitaaba minhu Aayaatum Muh kamaatun hunna Ummul Kitaabi wa ukharu Mutashaabihaatun faammal lazeena fee quloobihim ziyghun fa yattabi'oona ma tashaabaha minhubtighaaa 'alfitnati wabtighaaa'a taaweelih; wa maa ya'lamu taaweelahooo illal laah; warraasikhoona fil 'ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum min 'indi Rabbinaa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaaa ulul albaab

He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.

وہی ہے جس نے اتاری تجھ پر کتاب اس میں بعض آیتیں ہیں محکم یعنی انکے معنیٰ واضح ہیں وہ اصل ہیں کتاب کی اور دوسری ہیں متشابہ یعنی جنکے معنیٰ معلوم یا معین نہیں سو جن کے دلوں میں کجی ہے وہ پیروی کرتے ہیں متشابہات کی گمراہی پھیلانے کی غرض سے اور مطلب معلوم کرنے کی وجہ سے اور ان کا مطلب کوئی نہیں جانتا سوا اللہ کے اور مضبوط علم والے کہتےہیں ہم اس پر یقین لائے سب ہمارے رب کی طرف سے اتری ہیں اور سمجھانے سے وہی سمجھتے ہیں جن کو عقل ہے [۸]

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba'da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab

Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.

اے رب نہ پھیر ہمارے دلوں کو جب تو ہم کو ہدایت کر چکا اور عنایت کر ہم کو اپنے پاس سے رحمت تو ہی ہے سب کچھ دینے والا [۹]

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

Rabbanaaa innaka jaami 'un-naasi li Yawmil laa raibafeeh; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee'aad

Our Lord! Lo! it is Thou Who gatherest mankind together to a Day of which there is no doubt. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the tryst.

اے رب تو جمع کرنے والا ہے لوگوں کو ایک دن جس میں کچھ شبہ نہیں بیشک اللہ خلاف نہیں کرتا اپنا وعدہ [۱۰]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya 'anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai'anw wa ulaaa'ika hum waqoodun Naar

(On that Day) neither the riches nor the progeny of those who disbelieve will aught avail them with Allah. They will be fuel for Fire.

بیشک جو لوگ کافر ہیں ہر گز کام نہ آویں گے ان کو ان کے مال اور نہ ان کی اولاد اللہ کے سامنے کچھ اور وہی ہیں ایندھن دوزخ کے [۱۱]

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

Kadaabi Aali Fir'awna wallazeena min qablihim; kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fa akhazahumul laahu bizunoo bihim; wallaahu shadeedul 'iqaab

Like Pharaoh's folk and those who were before them, they disbelieved Our revelations and so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.

جیسے دستور فرعون والوں کا اور جو ان سے پہلے تھے جھٹلایا انہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو پھر پکڑا ان کو اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے [۱۲]

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

Qul lillazeena kafaroosatughlaboona wa tuhsharoona ilaa jahannam; wa bi'sal mihaad

Say (O Muhammad) unto those who disbelieve: Ye shall be overcome and gathered unto Hell, an evil resting-place.

کہہ دے کافروں کو کہ اب تم مغلوب ہو گے اور ہانکے جاؤ گے دوزخ کی طرف اور کیا برا ٹھکانہ ہے [۱۳]

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌۭ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا ۖ فِئَةٌۭ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌۭ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

Qad kaana lakum Aayatun fee fi'atainil taqataa fi'atun tuqaatilu fee sabeelil laahi wa ukhraa kaafiratuny yarawnahum mislaihim raayal 'ayn; wallaahu yu'ayyidu bi nasrihee mai yashaaa'; innaa fee zaalika la 'ibratal li ulil absaar

There was a token for you in two hosts which met: one army fighting in the way of Allah, and another disbelieving, whom they saw as twice their number, clearly, with their very eyes. Thus Allah strengtheneth with His succour whom He will. Lo! herein verily is a lesson for those who have eyes.

ابھی گذر چکا ہے تمہارے سامنے ایک نمونہ دو فوجوں میں جن میں مقابلہ ہوا ایک فوج ہے کہ لڑتی ہے اللہ کی راہ میں اور دوسری فوج کافروں کی ہے دیکھتے ہیں یہ ان کو اپنے سے دو چند صریح آنکھوں سے اور اللہ زور دیتا ہے اپنی مدد کا جس کو چاہے اسی میں عبرت ہے دیکھنے والوں کو [۱۴]

زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ

Zuyyina linnaasi hubbush shahawaati minannisaaa'i wal baneena walqanaateeril muqantarati minaz zahabi walfiddati walkhailil musawwamati wal an'aami walhars; zaalika mataa'ul hayaatid dunyaa wallaahu 'indahoo husnul ma-aab

Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring; and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and cattle and land. That is comfort of the life of the world. Allah! With Him is a more excellent abode.

فریفتہ کیا ہے لوگوں کو مرغوب چیزوں کی محبت نے جیسے عورتیں [۱۵] اور بیٹے اور خزانے جمع کئے ہوئے سونے اور چاندی کے اور گھوڑے نشان لگائے ہوئے [۱۶] اور مویشی اور کھیتی یہ فائدہ اٹھانا ہے دنیا کی زندگی میں اور اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے اچھا ٹھکانہ [۱۷]

۞ قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍۢ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Qul a'unabbi 'ukum bikhairim min zaalikum; lillazeenat taqaw 'inda Rabbihim jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa azwaajum mutahharatunw wa ridwaanum minal laah; wallaahu baseerum bil'ibaad

Say: Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who keep from evil, with their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow wherein they will abide, and pure companions, and contentment from Allah. Allah is Seer of His bondmen,

کہدے کیا بتاؤں میں تمکو اس سے بہتر پرہیزگاروں کے لئے اپنے رب کے ہاں باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے جاری ہیں نہریں ہمیشہ رہیں گے ان میں اور عورتیں ہیں ستھری [۱۸] اور رضامندی اللہ کی [۱۹] اور اللہ کی نگاہ میں ہیں بندے [۲۰]

ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Allazeena yaqooloona Rabbanaaa innanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa qinaa 'azaaban Naar

Those who say: Our Lord! Lo! we believe. So forgive us our sins and guard us from the punishment of Fire;

وہ جو کہتے ہیں اے رب ہمارے ہم ایمان لائے ہیں سو بخش دے ہم کو گناہ ہمارے اور بچا ہم کو دوزخ کے عذب سے [۲۱]

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

Assaabireena wassaa diqeena walqaaniteena walmunfiqeena walmus taghfireena bil ashaar

The steadfast, and the truthful, and the obedient, those who spend (and hoard not), those who pray for pardon in the watches of the night.

وہ صبر کرنے والے ہیں اور سچے اور حکم بجا لانے والے اور خرچ کرنے والے اور گناہ بخشوانے والے پچھلی رات میں [۲۲]

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Shahidal laahu annahoo laa ilaaha illaa Huwa walmalaaa'ikatu wa ulul 'ilmi qaaa'imam bilqist; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no Allah save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no Allah save Him the Almighty, the Wise.

اللہ نے گواہی دی کہ کسی کی بندگی نہیں اس کے سوا [۲۳] اور فرشتوں نے [۲۴] اور علم والوں نے بھی [۲۵] وہی حاکم انصاف کا ہے کسی کی بندگی نہیں سوا اس کے زبردست ہے حکمت والا [۲۶]

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Innad deena 'indal laahil Islaam; wa makhtalafal lazeena ootul Kitaaba illaa mim ba'di maa jaaa'ahumul 'ilmu baghyam bainahum; wa mai yakfur bi Aayaatil laahi fa innal laaha saree'ul hisaab

Lo! religion with Allah (is) the Surrender (to His Will and Guidance). Those who (formerly) received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came unto them, through transgression among themselves. Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is swift at reckoning.

بیشک دین جو ہے اللہ کے ہاں سو یہی مسلمانی حکمبرداری ہے [۲۷] اور مخالف نہیں ہوئے کتاب والے مگر جب ان کو معلوم ہو چکا آپس کی ضد اور حسد سے [۲۸] اور جو کوئی انکار کرے اللہ کے حکموں کا تو اللہ جلدی حساب لینے والا ہے [۲۹]

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Fa in haaajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillaahi wa manit taba'an; wa qul lillazeena ootul Kitaaba wal ummiyyeena 'a-aslamtum; fa in aslamoo faqadih tadaw wa in tawallaw fa innamaa 'alaikal balaagh; wallaahu baseerum bil 'ibaad

And if they argue with thee, (O Muhammad), say: I have surrendered my purpose to Allah and (so have) those who follow me. And say unto those who have received the Scripture and those who read not: Have ye (too) surrendered? If they surrender, then truly they are rightly guided, and if they turn away, then it is thy duty only to convey the message (unto them). Allah is Seer of (His) bondmen.

پھر بھی اگر تجھ سے جھگڑیں تو کہہ دے میں نے تابع کیا اپنا منہ اللہ کے حکم پر اور انہوں نے بھی کہ جو میرے ساتھ ہیں [۳۰] اور کہہ دے کتاب والوں کو اور ان پڑھوں کو کہ تم بھی تابع ہوتے ہو پھر اگر وہ تابع ہوئے تو انہوں نے راہ پائی سیدھی اور اگر منہ پھریں تو تیرے ذمہ صرف پہنچا دینا ہے اور اللہ کی نگاہ میں ہیں بندے [۳۱]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

Innal lazeena yakfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wa yaqtuloonan Nabiyyeena bighairi haqqinw wa yaqtuloonal lazeena yaamuroona bilqisti minannaasi fabashirhum bi'azaabin aleem

Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slay the prophets wrongfully, and slay those of mankind who enjoin equity: promise them a painful doom.

جو لوگ انکار کرتے ہیں اللہ کے حکموں کا اور قتل کرتے ہیں پیغمبروں کو ناحق اور قتل کرتے ہیں ان کو جو حکم کرتے ہیں انصاف کرنے کا لوگوں میں سے سو خوشخبری سنا دے انکو عذاب دردناک کی

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena habitat a'maaluhum fid dunyaa wal Aaakhirati wa maa lahum min naasireen

Those are they whose works have failed in the world and the Hereafter; and they have no helpers.

یہی ہیں جن کی محنت ضائع ہوئی دنیا میں اور آخرت میں اور کوئی نہیں ان کا مددگار [۳۲]

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Alam tara ilal lazeena ootoo naseebam minal Kitaabi yud'awna ilaa Kitaabil laahi liyahkuma bainahum summa yatawallaa fareequm minhum wa hum mu'ridoon

Hast thou not seen how those who have received a portion of the Scripture invoke the Scripture of Allah (in their disputes) that it may judge between them; then a faction of them turn away, being opposed (to it)?

کیا نہ دیکھا تو نے ان لوگوں کو جن کو ملا کچھ ایک حصہ کتاب کا [۳۳] ان کو بلاتے ہیں اللہ کی کتاب کی طرف تاکہ وہ کتاب ان میں حکم کرے پھر منہ پھیرتےہیں بعضے ان میں سےتغافل کر کے [۳۴]

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًۭا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

Zaalika bi annahum qaaloo lan tamassanan naaru illaaa ayyaamam ma'doodaatinw wa gharrahum fee deenihim maa kaanoo yaftaroon

That is because they say: The Fire will not touch us save for a certain number of days. That which they used to invent hath deceived them regarding their religion.

یہ اس واسطے کہ کہتے ہیں وہ ہم کو ہرگز نہ لگے گی آگ دوزخ کی مگر چند دن گنتی کے اور بہکے ہیں اپنے دین میں اپنی بنائی باتوں پر [۳۵]

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

Fakaifa izaa jama'naahum li Yawmil laa raiba fee wa wuffiyat kullu nafsim maa kasabat wa hum laa yuzlamoon

How (will it be with them) when We have brought them all together to a Day of which there is no doubt, when every soul will be paid in full what it hath earned, and they will not be wronged.

پھر کیا ہو گا حال جب ہم انکو جمع کریں گے ایک دن کہ اسکے آنے میں کچھ شبہ نہیں اور پورا پاوے گا ہر کوئی اپنا کیا [۳۶] اور انکی حق تلفی نہ ہو گی[۳۷]

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Qulil laahumma Maalikal Mulki tu'til mulka man tashaaa'u wa tanzi'ulmulka mimman tashhaaa'u wa tu'izzu man tashaaa'u wa tuzillu man tashaaa'u biyadikal khairu innaka 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! Thou givest sovereignty unto whom Thou wilt, and Thou withdrawest sovereignty from whom Thou wilt. Thou exaltest whom Thou wilt, and Thou abasest whom Thou wilt. In Thy hand is the good. Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.

تو کہہ یا اللہ مالک سلطنت کے تو سلطنت دیوے جس کو چاہے اور سلطنت چھین لیوے جس سے چاہے اور عزت دیوے جس کو چاہے اور ذلیل کرے جس کو چاہے تیرے ہاتھ ہے سب خوبی بیشک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے [۳۸]

تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۖ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ۖ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ

Toolijul laila fin nahaari wa toolijun nahaara fil laili wa tukhrijul haiya minalmaiyiti wa tukhrijulo maiyita minal haiyi wa tarzuqu man tashaaa'u bighari hisab

Thou causest the night to pass into the day, and Thou causest the day to pass into the night. And Thou bringest forth the living from the dead, and Thou bringest forth the dead from the living. And Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou choosest, without stint.

تو داخل کرتا ہے رات کو دن میں اور داخل کرے دن کو رات میں [۳۹] اور تو نکالے زندہ مردہ سے اور نکالے مردہ زندہ سے [۴۰] اور تو رزق دے جس کو چاہے بے شمار [۴۱]

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةًۭ ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

Laa yattakhizil mu'minoonal kaafireena awliyaaa'a min doonil mu'mineena wa mai yaf'al zaalika falaisa minal laahi fee shai'in illaaa an tattaqoo minhum tuqaah; wa yuhazzirukumul laahu nafsah; wa ilal laahil maseer

Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the journeying.

نہ بناویں مسلمان کافروں کو دوست مسلمانوں کو چھوڑ کر اور جو کوئی یہ کام کرے تو نہیں اس کو اللہ سے کوئی تعلق مگر اس حالت میں کہ کرنا چاہو تم ان سے بچاؤ [۴۲] اور اللہ تم کو ڈراتا ہے اپنے سے اور اللہ ہی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے [۴۳]

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Qul in tukhfoo maa fee sudoorikum aw tubdoohu ya'lamhul laah; wa ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

Say, (O Muhammad): Whether ye hide that which is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knoweth it. He knoweth that which is in the heavens and that which is in the earth, and Allah is Able to do all things.

تو کہہ اگر تم چھپاؤ گے اپنے جی کی بات یا اسے ظاہر کرو گے جانتا ہے اس کو اللہ [۴۴] اور اس کو معلوم ہے جو کچھ کہ ہے آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ ہے زمین میں اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے [۴۵]

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ مُّحْضَرًۭا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍۢ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًۭا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Yawma tajidu kullu nafsim maa'amilat min khairim muhdaranw wa maa 'amilat min sooo'in tawaddu law anna bainahaa wa bainahooo amadam ba'eedaa; wa yuhazzirukumul laahu nafsah; wallaahu ra'oofum bil'ibaad

On the Day when every soul will find itself confronted with all that it hath done of good and all that it hath done of evil (every soul) will long that there might be a mighty space of distance between it and that (evil). Allah biddeth you beware of Him. And Allah is Full of Pity for (His) bondmen.

جس دن موجود پاوے گا ہر شخص جو کچھ کہ کی ہے اس نے نیکی اپنےسامنے اور جو کچھ کہ کی ہے اس نے برائی آرزو کرے گا کہ مجھ میں اور اس میں فرق پڑ جاوے دور کا [۴۶] اور اللہ ڈراتا ہے تم کو اپنے سے اور اللہ بہت مہربان ہے بندوں پر [۴۷]

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Qul in kuntum tuhibboonal laaha fattabi' oonee yuhbibkumul laahu wa yaghfir lakum zunoobakum; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem

Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

تو کہہ اگر تم محبت رکھتے ہو اللہ کی تو میری راہ چلو تاکہ محبت کرے تم سے اللہ اور بخشے گناہ تمہارے اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے [۴۸]

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Qul atee'ul laaha war Rasoola fa in tawallaw fa innal laaha laa yuhibbul kaafireen

Say: Obey Allah and the messenger. But if they turn away, lo! Allah loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance).

تو کہہ حکم مانو اللہ کا اور رسول کا پھر اگر اعراض کریں تو اللہ کو محبت نہیں ہے کافروں سے [۴۹]

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًۭا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Innal laahas tafaaa Aadama wa Noohanw wa Aala Ibraaheema wa Aala Imraana 'alal 'aalameen

Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His) creatures.

بیشک اللہ نے پسند کیا آدم کو اور نوح کو اور ابراہیم کے گھر کو اور عمران کے گھر کو [۵۰] سارے جہان سے

ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍۢ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Zurriyyatam ba'duhaa mim ba'd; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem

They were descendants one of another. Allah is Hearer, Knower.

جو اولاد تھے ایک دوسرے کی [۵۱] اور اللہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے [۵۲]

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًۭا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Iz qaalatim ra atu 'Imraana Rabbi innee nazartu laka maa fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee innaka Antas Samee'ul 'Aleem

(Remember) when the wife of 'Imran said: My Lord! I have vowed unto Thee that which is in my belly as a consecrated (offering). Accept it from me. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower!

جب کہا عمران کی عورت نے کہ اے رب میں نے نذر کیا تیرے جو کچھ میرے پیٹ میں ہے سب سے آزاد رکھ کر سو تو مجھ سے قبول کر بیشک تو ہی ہے اصل سننے والا جاننے والا [۵۳]

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۖ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

Falammaa waqa'athaa qaalat Rabbi innee wada'tuhaaa unsaa wallaahu a'lamu bimaa wada'at wa laisaz zakaru kalunsaa wa innee sammaituhaa Maryama wa innee u'eezuhaa bika wa zurriyyatahaa minash Shaitaanir Rajeem

And when she was delivered she said: My Lord! Lo! I am delivered of a female - Allah knew best of what she was delivered - the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast.

پھر جب اس کو جنا بولی اے رب میں نے تو اس کو لڑکی جنی [۵۴] اور اللہ کو خوب معلوم ہے جو کچھ اس نے جنا اور بیٹا نہ ہو جیسی وہ بیٹی [۵۵] اور میں نے اس کا نام رکھا مریم اور میں تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں اس کو اور اس کی اولاد کو شیطان مردود سے [۵۶]

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍۢ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًۭا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًۭا ۖ قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا ۖ قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

Fataqabbalahaa Rabbuhaa biqaboolin hasaninw wa ambatahaa nabaatan hasananw wa kaffalahaa Zakariyyaa kullamaa dakhala 'alaihaa Zakariyyal Mihraaba wajada 'indahaa rizqan qaala yaa Maryamu annaa laki haazaa qaalat huwa min 'indil laahi innal laaha yarzuqu mai yashaaa'u bighairi hisaab

And her Lord accepted her with full acceptance and vouchsafed to her a goodly growth; and made Zachariah her guardian. Whenever Zachariah went into the sanctuary where she was, he found that she had food. He said: O Mary! Whence cometh unto thee this (food)? She answered: It is from Allah. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.

پھر قبول کیا اس کو اس کے رب نے اچھی طرح کا قبول اور بڑھایا ا سکو اچھی طرح بڑھانا اور سپرد کی زکریا کو [۵۷] جس وقت آتے اس کے پاس زکریا حجرے میں پاتے اس کے پاس کچھ کھانا [۵۸] کہا اے مریم کہاں سے آیا تیرے پاس یہ کہنے لگی یہ اللہ کے پاس سے آتا ہے اللہ رزق دیتا ہے جس کو چاہے بے قیاس [۵۹]

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

Hunaaalika da'aa Zakariyyaa Rabbahoo qaala Rabbi hab lee mil ladunka zurriyyatan taiyibatan innaka samee'ud du'aaa'

Then Zachariah prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer.

وہیں دعا کی زکریا نے اپنے رب سے کہا اے رب میرے عطا کر مجھ کو اپنے پاس سے اولاد پاکیزہ بیشک تو سننے والا ہے دعا کا [۶۰]

فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌۭ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًۭا وَحَصُورًۭا وَنَبِيًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Fanaadat hul malaaa'ikatu wa huwa qaaa'imuny yusallee fil Mihraabi annal laaha yubashshiruka bi Yahyaa musaddiqam bi Kalimatim minal laahi wa saiyidanw wa hasooranw wa Nabiyyam minas saaliheen

And the angels called to him as he stood praying in the sanctuary: Allah giveth thee glad tidings of (a son whose name is) John, (who cometh) to confirm a word from Allah lordly, chaste, a prophet of the righteous.

پھر اس کو آواز دی فرشتوں نے جب وہ کھڑے تھے نماز میں حجرے کے اندر کہ اللہ تجھکو خوشخبری دیتا ہے یحیٰی کی [۶۱] جو گواہی دے گا اللہ کے ایک حکم کی [۶۲] اور سردار ہو گا اور عورت کے پاس نہ جائے گا [۶۳] اور نبی ہو گا صالحین سے [۶۴]

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌۭ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa qad balaghaniyal kibaru wamraatee 'aaqirun qaala kazaalikal laahu yaf'alu maa yashaaa'

He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when age hath overtaken me already and my wife is barren? (The angel) answered: So (it will be). Allah doeth what He will.

کہا اے رب کہاں سے ہو گا میرے لڑکا اور پہنچ چکا مجھ کو بڑھاپا اور عورت میری بانجھ ہے فرمایا اسی طرح اللہ کرتا ہے جو چاہے [۶۵]

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًۭا ۗ وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًۭا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ

Qaala Rabbij 'al leee Aayatan qaala Aaayatuka allaa tukalliman naasa salaasata ayyaamin illa ramzaa; wzkur Rabbaka kaseeranw wa sabbih bil'ashiyyi wal ibkaar

He said: My Lord! Appoint a token for me. (The angel) said: The token unto thee (shall be) that thou shalt not speak unto mankind three days except by signs. Remember thy Lord much, and praise (Him) in the early hours of night and morning.

کہا اے رب مقرر کر میرے لئے کچھ نشانی [۶۶] فرمایا نشانی تیرے لئے یہ ہے کہ نہ بات کرے گا تو لوگوں سے تین دن مگراشارہ سے [۶۷] اور یاد کر اپنے رب کو بہت اور تسبیح کر شام اور صبح [۶۸]

وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa iz qaalatil malaaa'ikatu yaa Ya Maryamu innal laahas tafaaki wa tahharaki wastafaaki 'alaa nisaaa'il 'aalameen

And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation.

اور جب فرشتے بولے اے مریم اللہ نے تجھ کو پسند کیا اور ستھرا بنایا اور پسند کیا تجھ کو سب جہان کی عورتوں پر [۶۹]

يَٰمَرْيَمُ ٱقْنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسْجُدِى وَٱرْكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ

Yaa Maryamuq nutee li Rabbiki wasjudee warka'ee ma'ar raaki'een

O Mary! Be obedient to thy Lord, prostrate thyself and bow with those who bow (in worship).

اے مریم بندگی کر اپنے رب کی اور سجدہ کر [۷۰] اور رکوع کر ساتھ رکوع کرنےوالوں کے [۷۱]

ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ ۚ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ

Zaalika min ambaaa'il ghaibi nooheehi ilaik; wa maa kunta ladaihim iz yulqoona aqlaamahum ayyuhum yakfulu Maryama wa maa kunta ladaihim iz yakhtasimoon

This is of the tidings of things hidden. We reveal it unto thee (Muhammad). Thou wast not present with them when they threw their pens (to know) which of them should be the guardian of Mary, nor wast thou present with them when they quarrelled (thereupon).

یہ خبریں غیب کی ہیں جو ہم بھیجتے ہیں تجھکو [۷۲] اور تو نہ تھا ان کے پاس جب ڈالنے لگے اپنے قلم کہ کون پرورش میں لے مریم کو اور تو نہ تھا ان کے پاس جب وہ جھگڑتے تھے [۷۳]

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍۢ مِّنْهُ ٱسْمُهُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًۭا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

Iz qaalatil malaaa'ikatu yaa Maryamu innal laaha yubashshiruki bi Kalimatim minhus muhul Maseeh u 'Eesab nu Maryama wajeehan fid dunyaa wal Aakhirati wa minal muqarrabeen

(And remember) when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a word from him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (unto Allah).

جب کہا فرشتوں نے اے مریم اللہ تجھ کو بشارت دیتا ہے ایک اپنے حکم کی جس کا نام مسیح ہے عیسیٰ مریم کا بیٹا مرتبہ والا دنیا میں اور آخرت میں اور اللہ کے مقربوں میں [۷۴]

وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًۭا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Wa yukallimun naasa filmahdi wa kahlanw wa minassaaliheen

He will speak unto mankind in his cradle and in his manhood, and he is of the righteous.

اور باتیں کرے گا لوگوں سے جبکہ ماں کی گود میں ہو گا اور جبکہ پوری عمر کا ہو گا اور نیک بختوں میں ہے [۷۵]

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Qaalat Rabbi annaa yakoonu ee waladunw wa lam yamsasnee basharun qaala kazaalikil laahu yakhluqu maa yashaaa'; izaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fayakoon

She said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He said: So (it will be). Allah createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.

بولی اے رب کہاں سے ہو گا میرے لڑکا اور مجھ کو ہاتھ نہیں لگایا کسی آدمی نے [۷۶] فرمایا اسی طرح اللہ پیدا کرتا ہے جو چاہے جب ارادہ کرتا ہے کسی کام کا تو یہی کہتا ہے اس کو کہ ہو جا سو وہ ہو جاتا ہے [۷۷]

وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

Wa yu'allimuhul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wat Tawraata wal Injeel

And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel,

اور سکھاوےگا اس کو کتاب اور تہ کی باتیں اور تورات اور انجیل [۷۸]

وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Wa Rasoolan ilaa Baneee Israaa'eela annee qad ji'tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum annee akhluqu lakum minatteeni kahai 'atittairi fa anfukhu feehi fayakoonu tairam bi iznil laahi wa ubri'ul akmaha wal abrasa wa uhyil mawtaa bi iznil laahi wa unabbi'ukum bimaa taakuloona wa maa taddakhiroona fee buyootikum; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

And will make him a messenger unto the Children of Israel, (saying): Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah's leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah's leave. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses. Lo! herein verily is a portent for you, if ye are to be believers.

اور کرے گا اس کو پیغمبر بنی اسرائیل کی طرف بیشک میں آیا ہوں تمہارےپاس نشانیاں لے کر تمہارے رب کی طرف سے [۷۹] کہ میں بنا دیتا ہوں تم کو گارے سے پرندہ کی شکل پھر اس میں پھونک مارتا ہوں تو ہو جاتا ہے وہ اڑتا جانور اللہ کے حکم سے [۸۰] اور اچھا کرتا ہوں مادر زاد اندھے کو اور کوڑھی کو اور جلاتا ہوں مردے اللہ کے حکم سے [۸۱] اور بتا دیتا ہوں تم کو جو کھا کر آؤ اور جو رکھ آؤ اپنے گھر میں [۸۲] اس میں نشانی پوری ہے تم کو اگر تم یقین رکھتے ہو

وَمُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Wa musaddiqal limaa baina yadaiya minat Tawraati wa liuhilla lakum ba'dal lazee hurrima 'alaikum; wa ji'tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

And (I come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

اور سچا بتاتا ہوں اپنےسے پہلی کتاب کو جو توریت ہے اور اس واسطے کہ حلال کر دوں تم کو بعضی وہ چیزیں جو حرام تھیں تم پر [۸۳] اور آیا ہوں تمہارے پاس نشانی لے کر تمہارے رب کی سو ڈرو اللہ سے اور میرا کہا مانو [۸۴]

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۗ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ

Innal laaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa'budooh; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem

Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.

بیشک اللہ ہے رب میرا اور رب تمہارا سو اس کی بندگی کرو یہی راہ سیدھی ہے [۸۵]

۞ فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

Falammaaa ahassa 'Eesaa minhumul kufra qaala man ansaaree ilal laahi qaalal Hawaariyyoona nahnu ansaarul laahi aamannaa billaahi washhad bi annaa muslimoon

But when Jesus became conscious of their disbelief, he cried: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We will be Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we have surrendered (unto Him).

پھر جب معلوم کیا عیسٰی نے بنی اسرائیل کا کفر [۸۶] بولا کون ہے کہ میری مدد کرے اللہ کی راہ میں [۸۷] کہا حواریوں نے ہم ہیں مدد کرنے والے اللہ کی [۸۸] ہم یقین لائے اللہ پر اور تو گواہ رہ کہ ہم نے حکم قبول کیا [۸۹]

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ

Rabbanaaa aamannaa bimaaa anzalta wattaba'nar Rasoola faktubnaa ma'ash shaahideen

Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast sent. Enrol us among those who witness (to the truth).

اے رب ہم نے یقین کیا اس چیز کا جو تو نے اتاری اور ہم تابع ہوئے رسول کے سو تو لکھ لے ہم کو ماننے والوں میں [۹۰]

وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ

Wa makaroo wa makaral laahu wallaahu khairul maakireen

And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.

اور مکر کیا ان کافروں نے اور مکر کیا اللہ نے اور اللہ کا داؤ سب سے بہتر ہے [۹۱]

إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ

Iz qaalal laahu yaa 'Eesaaa innee mutawaffeeka wa raafi'uka ilaiya wa mutah hiruka minal lazeena kafaroo wa jaa'ilul lazeenattaba ooka fawqal lazeena kafarooo ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati summa ilaiya marji'ukum fa ahkumu bainakum feemaa kuntum feehi takhtaliifoon

(And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.

جس وقت کہا اللہ نے اے عیسٰی میں لے لوں گا تجھ کو اور اٹھا لوں گا اپنی طرف اور پاک کروں گا تجھ کو کافروں سے اور رکھوں گا ان کو جو تیرے تابع ہیں غالب ان سے جو انکار کرتے ہیں قیامت کے دن تک پھر میری طرف ہے تم سب کو پھر آنا پھر فیصلہ کر دوں گا تم میں جس بات میں تم جھگڑتے تھے

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًۭا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

Fa ammal lazeena kafaroo fa u'az zibuhum 'azaaban shadeedan fiddunyaa wal Aakhirati wa maa lahum min naasireen

As for those who disbelieve I shall chastise them with a heavy chastisement in the world and the Hereafter; and they will have no helpers.

سو وہ لوگ جو کافر ہوئے ان کو عذاب کروں گا سخت عذاب دنیا میں اور آخرت میں اور کوئی نہیں ان کا مددگار

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa ammal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati fa yuwaffeehim ujoorahum; wallaahu laa yuhibbuz zaalimeen

And as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full. Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

اور وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور کام نیک کئے سو انکو پورا دے گا ان کا حق اور اللہ کو خوش نہیں آتے بے انصاف [۹۲]

ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَٱلذِّكْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

Zaalika natloohu 'alaika minal Aayaati wa Zikril Hakeem

This (which) We recite unto thee is a revelation and a wise reminder.

یہ پڑھ کو سناتے ہیں ہم تجھ کو آیتیں اور بیان تحقیقی

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Inna masala 'Eesaa 'indal laahi kamasali Aadama khalaqahoo min turaabin summa qaala lahoo kun fayakoon

Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is.

بیشک عیسٰی کی مثال اللہ کے نزدیک جیسے مثال آدم کی بنایا اس کو مٹی سے پھر کہا اس کو کہ ہو جا وہ ہو گیا [۹۳]

ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ

Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takum minal mumtareen

(This is) the truth from thy Lord (O Muhammad), so be not thou of those who waver.

حق وہ ہے جو تیرا رب کہے پھر تو مت رہ شک لانے والوں سے [۹۴]

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

Faman haaajjaka feehi mim ba'di maa jaaa'aka minal 'ilmi faqul ta'aalaw nad'u abnaaa'anaa wa abnaaa'akum wa nisaaa'anaa wa nisaaa'akum wa anfusanaa wa anfusakum summa nabtahil fanaj'al la'natal laahi 'alal kaazibeen

And whoso disputeth with thee concerning him, after the knowledge which hath come unto thee, say (unto him): Come! We will summon our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then we will pray humbly (to our Lord) and (solemnly) invoke the curse of Allah upon those who lie.

پھر جو کوئی جھگڑا کرے تجھ سے اس قصہ میں بعد اس کے کہ آ چکی تیرے پاس خبر سچی تو تو کہدے آؤ بلادیں ہم اپنے بیٹے اور تمہارے بیٹے اور اپنی عورتیں اور تمہاری عورتیں اور اپنی جان اور تمہاری جان پھر التجا کریں ہم سب اور لعنت کریں اللہ کی ان پر کہ جو جھوٹے ہیں [۹۵]

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۚ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Innaa haazaa lahuwal qasasul haqq; wa maa min ilaahin illal laah; wa innal laahaa la Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

Lo! This verily is the true narrative. There is no Allah save Allah, and lo! Allah, He verily is, is the Mighty, the Wise.

بیشک یہی ہے بیان سچا اور کسی کی بندگی نہیں ہے سوا اللہ کے [۹۶] اور اللہ جو ہے وہی ہے زبردست حکمت والا [۹۷]

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Fa in tawallaw fa innal laaha'aleemun bil mufsideen

And if they turn away, then lo! Allah is Aware of (who are) the corrupters.

پھر اگر قبول نہ کریں تو اللہ کو معلوم ہے فساد کرنے والے [۹۸]

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍۢ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًۭا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُولُوا۟ ٱشْهَدُوا۟ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

Qul yaa Ahlal Kitaabi ta'aalaw ilaa Kalimatin sawaaa'im bainanaa wa bainakum allaa na'buda illal laaha wa laa nushrika bihee shai'anw wa laa yattakhiza ba'dunaa ba'dan arbaabam min doonil laah; fa in tawallaw faqoolush hadoo bi annaa muslimoon

Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him).

تو کہہ اے اہل کتاب آؤ ایک بات کی طرف جو برابر ہے ہم میں اور تم میں کہ بندگی نہ کریں ہم مگر اللہ کی اور شریک نہ ٹھہراویں اس کا کسی کو اور نہ بناوے کوئی کسی کو رب سوا اللہ کے [۹۹] پھر اگر وہ قبول نہ کریں تو کہہ دو گواہ رہو کہ ہم تو حکم کے تابع ہیں [۱۰۰]

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi limaa tuhaaajjoona feee Ibraaheema wa maaa unzilatit Tawraatu wal Injeelu illaa mim ba'dih; afala ta'qiloon

O People of the Scripture! Why will ye argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him? Have ye then no sense?

اے اہل کتاب کیوں جھگڑتے ہو ابراہیم کی بابت اور توریت اور انجیل تو اتریں اس کے بعد کیا تم کو عقل نہیں

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Haaa antum haaa'ulaaa'i baajajtum feemaa lakum bihee 'ilmun falima tuhaaajjoonaa feemaa laisa lakum bihee 'ilm; wallaahu ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon

Lo! ye are those who argue about that whereof ye have some knowledge: Why then argue ye concerning that whereof ye have no knowledge? Allah knoweth. Ye know not.

سنتے ہو تم لوگ جھگڑ چکے جس بات میں تم کو کچھ خبر تھی اب کیوں جھگڑتے ہو جس بات میں تم کو کچھ خبر نہیں اور اللہ جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے [۱۰۱]

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّۭا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًۭا مُّسْلِمًۭا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Maa kaana Ibraaheemu Yahoodiyyanw wa laa Nasraa niyyanw wa laakin kaana Haneefam Muslimanw wa maa kaana minal mushrikeen

Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to Allah), and he was not of the idolaters.

نہ تھا ابراہیم یہودی اور نہ تھا نصرانی لیکن تھا حنیف یعنی سب جھوٹے مذہبوں سے بیزار اور حکم بردار اور نہ تھا مشرک [۱۰۲]

إِنَّ أَوْلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Innaa awlan naasi bi Ibraaheema lallazeenat taba 'oohu wa haazan nabiyyu wallazeena aamanoo; wallaahu waliyyul mu'mineen

Lo! those of mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who believe (with him); and Allah is the Protecting Guardian of the believers.

لوگوں میں زیادہ مناسبت ابراہیم سے ان کو تھی جو ساتھ اس کے تھے اور اس نبی کو اور جو ایمان لائے اس نبی پر [۱۰۳] اور اللہ والی ہے مسلمانوں کا [۱۰۴]

وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Waddat taaa'ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi law yudil loonakum wa maa yudilloona illaaa anfusahum wa maa yash'uroon

A party of the People of the Scripture long to make you go astray; and they make none to go astray except themselves, but they perceive not.

آرزو ہے بعضے اہل کتاب کو کہ کسی طرح گمراہ کریں تم کو اور گمراہ نہیں کرتے مگر اپنے آپ کو اور نہیں سمجھتے [۱۰۵]

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ

Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wan antum tashadoon

O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when ye (yourselves) bear witness (to their truth)?

اے اہل کتاب کیوں انکار کرتے ہو اللہ کے کلام کا اور تم قائل ہو [۱۰۶]

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Yaaa Ahalal Kitaabi lima talbisoonal haqqa bilbaatili wa taktumoonal haqqa wa antum ta'lamoon

O People of the Scripture! Why confound ye truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the truth?

اے اہل کتاب کیوں ملاتے ہو سچ میں جھوٹ اور چھپاتے ہو سچی بات جان کر [۱۰۷]

وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa qaalat taaa'ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi aaminoo billazeee unzila 'alal lazeena aamanoo wajhan nahaari wakfurooo aakhirahoo la'alla hum yarji'oon

And a party of the People of the Scripture say: Believe in that which hath been revealed unto those who believe at the opening of the day, and disbelieve at the end thereof, in order that they may return;

اور کہا بعضے اہل کتاب نے مان لو جو کچھ اترا مسلمانوں پر دن چڑھے اور منکر ہو جاؤ آخر دن میں شاید وہ پھر جاویں [۱۰۸]

وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ

Wa laa tu'minooo illaa liman tabi'a deenakum qul innal hudaa hudal laahi ai yu'taaa ahadum misla maaa ooteetum aw yuhaaajjookum 'inda Rabbikum, qul innal fadla biyadil laah; yu'teehi mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Waasi'un 'Aleem

And believe not save in one who followeth your religion - Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the guidance is Allah's Guidance - that anyone is given the like of that which was given unto you or that they may argue with you in the presence of their Lord. Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the bounty is in Allah's hand. He bestoweth it on whom He will. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

اور نہ مانیو مگر اسی کی جو چلے تمہارےدین پر [۱۰۹] کہدے کہ بیشک ہدایت وہی ہے جو اللہ ہدایت کرے [۱۱۰] اور یہ سب کچھ اس لئے ہے کہ اور کسی کو بھی کیوں مل گیا جسیا کچھ تم کو ملا تھا یا وہ غالب کیوں آ گئے تم پر تمہارے رب کے آگے [۱۱۱] تو کہہ بڑائی اللہ کے ہاتھ میں ہے دیتا ہے جس کو چاہے اور اللہ بہت گنجائش والا ہے خبردار

يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Yakhtassu birahmatihee mai yashaaa'; wallaahu zulfadil 'azeem

He selecteth for His mercy whom He will. Allah is of Infinite Bounty.

خاص کرتا ہے اپنی مہربانی جس پر چاہے اور اللہ کا فضل بڑا ہے [۱۱۲]

۞ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍۢ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍۢ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًۭا ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ سَبِيلٌۭ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Wa min Ahlil Kitaabi man in taamanhu biqintaariny yu'addihee ilaika wa minhum man in taamanhu bideenaaril laa yu'addiheee ilaika illaa maa dumta 'alaihi qaaa' imaa; zaalika biannahum qaaloo laisa 'alainaa fil ummiyyeena sabeelunw wa yaqooloona 'alal laahil kaziba wa hum ya'lamoon

Among the People of the Scripture there is he who, if thou trust him with a weight of treasure, will return it to thee. And among them there is he who, if thou trust him with a piece of gold, will not return it to thee unless thou keep standing over him. That is because they say: We have no duty to the Gentiles. They speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly.

اور بعضے اہل کتاب میں وہ ہیں کہ اگر تو ان کے پاس امانت رکھے ڈھیر مال کا تو ادا کر دیں تجھ کو اور بعضے ان میں وہ ہیں کہ اگر تو انکے پاس امانت رکھے ایک اشرفی تو ادا نہ کریں تجھ کو مگر جب تک کہ تو رہے اس کے سر پر کھڑا [۱۱۳] یہ اس واسطے کہ انہوں کے کہہ رکھا ہے کہ نہیں ہے ہم پر امی لوگوں کے حق لینے میں کچھ گناہ [۱۱۴] اور جھوٹ بولتے ہیں اللہ پر اور وہ جانتے ہیں [۱۱۵]

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Balaa man awfaa bi'ahdihee wattaqaa fainnal laaha yuhibbul muttaqeen

Nay, but (the chosen of Allah is) he who fulfilleth his pledge and wardeth off (evil); for lo! Allah loveth those who ward off (evil).

کیوں نہیں جو کوئی پورا کرے اپنا قرار اور پرہیز گار ہے تو اللہ کو محبت ہے پرہیزگاروں سے [۱۱۶]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Innal lazeena yashtaroona bi'ahdil laahi wa aymaanihim samanan qaleelan ulaaa'ika laa khalaaqa lahum fil Aakhirati wa laa yukallimuhumul laahu wa laa yanzuru ilaihim Yawmal Qiyaamati wa laa yuzakkeehim wa lahum 'azabun 'aleem

Lo! those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths, they have no portion in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them nor look upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He make them grow. Theirs will be a painful doom.

جو لوگ مول لیتے ہیں اللہ کے قرار پر اور اپنی قسموں پر تھوڑا سا مول [۱۱۷] ان کا کچھ حصہ نہیں آخرت میں اور نہ بات کرے گا ان سے اللہ اور نہ نگاہ کرے گا انکی طرف قیامت کے دن اور نہ پاک کرے گا ان کو اور انکے واسطے عذاب ہے دردناک [۱۱۸]

وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًۭا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Wa inna minhum lafaree qany yalwoona alsinatahum bil Kitaabi litahsaboohu minal Kitaab, wa maa huwa minal Kitaabi wa yaqooloon huwa min 'indillaahi wa maa huwa min 'indillaahi wa yaqooloona 'alal laahil kaziba wa hum ya'lamoon

And lo! there is a party of them who distort the Scripture with their tongues, that ye may think that what they say is from the Scripture, when it is not from the Scripture. And they say: It is from Allah, when it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly.

اور ان میں ایک فریق ہے کہ زبان مڑوڑ کر پڑھتے ہیں کتاب تاکہ تم جانو کہ وہ کتاب میں ہے اور وہ نہیں کتاب میں اور کہتے ہیں وہ اللہ کا کہا ہے اور وہ نہیں اللہ کا کہا [۱۱۹] اور اللہ پر جھوٹ بولتے ہیں جان کر

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًۭا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ

Maa kaana libasharin ai yu'tiyahul laahul Kitaaba walhukma wan Nubuwwata summa yaqoola linnaasi koonoo 'ibaadal lee min doonil laahi wa laakin koonoo rabbaaniy yeena bimaa kuntum tu'allimoonal Kitaaba wa bimaa kuntum tadrusoon

It is not (possible) for any human being unto whom Allah had given the Scripture and wisdom and the prophethood that he should afterwards have said unto mankind: Be slaves of me instead of Allah; but (what he said was): Be ye faithful servants of the Lord by virtue of your constant teaching of the Scripture and of your constant study thereof.

کسی بشر کا کام نہیں کہ اللہ اس کو دیوے کتاب اور حکمت اور پیغمبر کرے پھر وہ کہے لوگوں کو کہ تم میرے بندے ہو جاؤ اللہ کو چھوڑ کر [۱۲۰] لیکن یوں کہے کہ تم اللہ والے ہو جاؤ جیسے کہ تم سکھلاتے تھے کتاب اور جیسے کہ تم آپ بھی پڑھتے تھے اسے [۱۲۱]

وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ أَرْبَابًا ۗ أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Wa laa yaamurakum an tattakhizul malaaa 'ikata wan Nabiyyeena arbaabaa; a yaamurukum bilkufri ba'da iz antum muslimoon

And he commanded you not that ye should take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after ye had surrendered (to Allah)?

اور نہ یہ کہے تم کو کہ ٹھہرا لو فرشتوں کو اور نبیوں کو رب [۱۲۲] کیا تم کو کفر سکھائے گا بعد اس کے کہ تم مسلمان ہو چکے ہو [۱۲۳]

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍۢ وَحِكْمَةٍۢ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مُّصَدِّقٌۭ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ ۚ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ

Wa iz akhazal laahu meesaaqan Nabiyyeena lamaaa aataitukum min Kitaabinw wa Hikmatin summa jaaa'akum Rasoolum musaddiqul limaa ma'akum latu'minunna bihee wa latansurunnah; qaala 'aaqrartum wa akhaztum alaa zaalikum isree qaalooo aqrarnaa; qaala fashhadoo wa ana ma'akum minash shaahideen

When Allah made (His) covenant with the prophets, (He said): Behold that which I have given you of the Scripture and knowledge. And afterward there will come unto you a messenger, confirming that which ye possess. Ye shall believe in him and ye shall help him. He said: Do ye agree, and will ye take up My burden (which I lay upon you) in this (matter)? They answered: We agree. He said: Then bear ye witness. I will be a witness with you.

اور جب لیا اللہ نے عہد نبیوں سے کہ جو کچھ میں نے تم کو دیا کتب اور علم پھر آوے تمہارے پاس کوئی رسول کہ سچا بتاوے تمہارے پاس والی کتاب کو تو اس رسول پر ایمان لاؤ گے اور اس کی مدد کرو گے فرمایا کہ کیا تم نے اقرار کیا اور اس شرط پر میرا عہد قبول کیا بولے ہم نے اقرار کیا [۱۲۴] فرمایا تو اب گواہ رہو اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ گواہ ہوں [۱۲۵]

فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

Faman tawallaa ba'da zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul faasiqoon

Then whosoever after this shall turn away: they will be miscreants.

پھر جو کوئی پھر جاوے اس کے بعد تو وہی لوگ ہیں نافرمان [۱۲۶]

أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ ٱللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًۭا وَكَرْهًۭا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ

Afaghaira deenil laahi yabghoona wa lahooo aslama man fis samaawaati wal ardi taw'anw wa karhanw wa ilaihi yurja'oon

Seek they other than the religion of Allah, when unto Him submitteth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and unto Him they will be returned.

اب کوئی اور دین ڈھونڈھتے ہیں سوا دین اللہ کے اور اسی کے حکم میں ہے جو کوئی آسمان اور زمین میں ہے خوشی سے یا لاچاری سے [۱۲۷] اور اسی کی طرف سب پھر جاویں گے [۱۲۸]

قُلْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ

Qul aamannaa billaahi wa maaa unzila 'alainaa wa maaa unzila 'alaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa'eela wa Ishaaqa wa Ya'qooba wal Asbaati wa maaa ootiya Moosaa wa 'Eesaa wan Nabiyyoona mir Rabbihim laa nufarriqu baina ahadim minhum wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

Say (O Muhammad): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.

تو کہہ ہم ایمان لائے اللہ پر اور جو کچھ اترا ہم پر اور جو کچھ اترا ابراہیم پر اور اسمٰعیل پر اور اسحٰق پر اور یعقوب پر اور اس کی اولاد پر اور جو ملا موسٰی کو اور عیسٰی کو اور جو ملا سب نبیوں کو انکے پروردگار کی طرف سے ہم جدا نہیں کرتے ان میں کسی کو اور ہم اسی کے فرمانبردار ہیں [۱۲۹]

وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًۭا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

Wa mai yabtaghi ghairal Islaami deenan falany yuqbala minhu wa huwa fil Aakhirati minal khaasireen

And whoso seeketh as religion other than the Surrender (to Allah) it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the Hereafter.

اور جو کوئی چاہے سوا دین اسلام کے اور کوئی دین سو اس سے ہر گز قبول نہ ہو گا [۱۳۰] اور وہ آخرت میں خراب ہے [۱۳۱]

كَيْفَ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ قَوْمًۭا كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقٌّۭ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Kaifa yahdil laahu qawman kafaroo ba'da eemaanihim wa shahidooo annar Rasoola haqqunw wa jaaa'ahumul baiyinaat; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and (after) they bore witness that the messenger is true and after clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) had come unto them. And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

کیونکر راہ دے گا للہ ایسے لوگوں کو کہ کافر ہو گئے ایمان لا کر اور گواہی دے کر کہ بیشک رسول سچا ہے اور آئیں ان کے پاس نشانیاں روشن اور اللہ راہ نہیں دیتا ظالم لوگوں کو [۱۳۲]

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

Ulaaa'ika jazaaa'uhum anna 'alaihim la'natal laahi walmalaaa'ikati wannaasi ajma'een

As for such, their guerdon is that on them rests the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined.

ایسے لوگوں کی سزا یہ ہے کہ ان پر لعنت ہے اللہ کی اور فرشتوں کی اور لوگوں کی سب کی [۱۳۳]

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

Khaalideena feehaa laa yukhaffafu 'anhumul 'azaabu wa laa hum yunzaroon

They will abide therein. Their doom will not be lightened, neither will they be reprieved;

ہمیشہ رہیں گے اس میں [۱۳۴] نہ ہلکا ہو گا ان سے عذاب اور نہ ان کو فرصت ملے [۱۳۵]

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

Illal lazeena taaboo mim ba'di zaalika wa aslahoo fa innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem

Save those who afterward repent and do right. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

مگر جنہوں نے توبہ کی اس کےبعد اور نیک کام کئے تو بیشک اللہ غفور رحیم ہے [۱۳۶]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًۭا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ

Innal lazeena kafaroo ba'da eemaanihim summaz daadoo kufral lan tuqbala tawbatuhum wa ulaaa'ika humud daaalloon

Lo! those who disbelieve after their (profession of) belief, and afterward grow violent in disbelief: their repentance will not be accepted. And such are those who are astray.

جو لوگ منکر ہوئے مان کر پھر بڑھتے رہے انکار میں ہر گز قبول نہ ہوگی ان کی توبہ اور وہی ہیں گمراہ [۱۳۷]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌۭ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًۭا وَلَوِ ٱفْتَدَىٰ بِهِۦٓ ۗ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

Innal lazeena kafaroo wa maatoo wa hum kuffaarun falany yuqbala min ahadihim mil'ul ardi zahabanw wa lawiftadaa bih; ulaaa 'ika lahum 'azaabun aleemunw wa maa lahum min naasireen

Lo! those who disbelieve, and die in disbelief, the (whole) earth full of gold would not be accepted from such an one if it were offered as a ransom (for his soul). Theirs will be a painful doom and they will have no helpers.

جو لوگ کافر ہوئے اور مر گئے کافر ہی تو ہر گز قبول نہ ہوگا کسی ایسے سے زمین بھر کو سونا [۱۳۸] اور اگرچہ بدلا دیوے اس قدر سونا ان کو عذاب دردناک ہے اور کوئی نہیں ان کا مددگار [۱۳۹]

لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌۭ

Lan tanaalul birra hattaa tunfiqoo mimmaa tuhibboon; wa maa tunfiqoo min shai'in fa innal laaha bihee 'Aleem

Ye will not attain unto piety until ye spend of that which ye love. And whatsoever ye spend, Allah is Aware thereof.

ہر گز حاصل نہ کر سکو گے نیکی میں کمال جب تک نہ خرچ کرو اپنی پیاری چیز سے کچھ اور جو چیز خرچ کرو گے سو اللہ کو معلوم ہے [۱۴۰]

۞ كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّۭا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ ۗ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Kullut ta'aami kaana hillal li Baneee Israaa'eela illaa maa harrama Israaa'eelu 'alaa nafsihee min qabli an tunzzalat Tawraah; qul faatoo bit Tawraati fatloohaaa in kuntum saadiqeen

All food was lawful unto the Children of Israel, save that which Israel forbade himself, (in days) before the Torah was revealed. Say: Produce the Torah and read it (unto us) if ye are truthful.

سب کھانے کی چیزیں حلال تھیں بنی اسرائیل کو مگر وہ جو حرام کر لی تھی اسرائیل نے اپنے اوپر توریت نازل ہونے سے پہلے [۱۴۱] تو کہہ لاؤ توریت اور پڑھو اگر سچے ہو [۱۴۲]

فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

Famanif taraa 'alal laahilkaziba mim ba'di zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humuz zaalimoon

And whoever shall invent a falsehood after that concerning Allah, such will be wrong-doers.

پھر جو کوئی جوڑے اللہ پر جھوٹ اس کے بعد تو وہی ہیں بڑے بے انصاف [۱۴۳]

قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ ۗ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

Qul sadaqal laah; fattabi'oo Millata Ibraaheema Haneefanw wa maa kaana minal mush rikeen

Say: Allah speaketh truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, the upright. He was not of the idolaters.

تو کہہ سچ فرمایا اللہ نے اب تابع ہو جاؤ دین ابراہیم کے جو ایک ہی کا ہو رہا تھا اور نہ تھا شرک کرنے والا [۱۴۴]

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍۢ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًۭا وَهُدًۭى لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Inna awwala Baitinw wudi'a linnaasi lallazee bi Bakkata mubaarakanw wa hudal lil 'aalameen

Lo! the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind was that at Becca, a blessed place, a guidance to the peoples;

بیشک سب سے پہلا گھر جو مقرر ہوا لوگوں کے واسطے یہی ہے جو مکہ میں ہے [۱۴۵] برکت والا اور ہدایت جہان کے لوگوں کو

فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌۭ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۖ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًۭا ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًۭا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Feehi Aayaatum baiyinaatum Maqaamu Ibraaheema wa man dakhalahoo kaana aaminaa; wa lillaahi 'alan naasi Hijjul Baiti manis tataa'a ilaihi sabeelaa; wa man kafara fa innal laaha ghaniyyun 'anil 'aalameen

Wherein are plain memorials (of Allah's guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray; and whosoever entereth it is safe. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can find a way thither. As for him who disbelieveth, (let him know that) lo! Allah is Independent of (all) creatures.

اس میں نشانیاں ہیں ظاہر جیسے مقام ابراہیم اور جو اس کے اندر آیا اس کو امن ملا [۱۴۶] اور اللہ کا حق ہے لوگوں پر حج کرنا اس گھر کا جو شخص قدرت رکھتا ہو اسکی طرف راہ چلنے کی اور جو نہ مانے تو پھر اللہ پروا نہیں رکھتا جہان کے لوگوں کی [۱۴۷]

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ

Qul yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi Aayaatillaahi wallaahu shaheedun 'alaa maa ta'maloon

Say: O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when Allah (Himself) is Witness of what ye do?

تو کہہ اے اہل کتاب کیوں منکر ہوتے ہو اللہ کے کلام سے اور اللہ کے روبرو ہے جو تم کرتے ہو [۱۴۸]

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًۭا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

Qul yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima tusuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi man aamana tabghoonahaa 'iwajanw wa antum shuhadaaa'; wa mallaahu bighaafilin 'ammaa ta'maloon

Say: O People of the Scripture! Why drive ye back believers from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, when ye are witnesses (to Allah's guidance)? Allah is not unaware of what ye do.

تو کہہ اے اہل کتاب کیوں روکتے ہو اللہ کی راہ سے ایمان لانے والوں کو کہ ڈھونڈتے ہو اس میں عیب اور تم خود جانتے ہو اور اللہ بے خبر نہیں تمہارے کام سے [۱۴۹]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo in tutee'oo fareeqam minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba yaruddookum ba'da eemaanikum kaafireen

O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief.

اے ایمان والو اگر تم کہا مانو گے بعضے اہل کتاب کا تو پھر کر دیں گے وہ تم کو ایمان لائے پیچھے کافر [۱۵۰]

وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُۥ ۗ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِىَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

Wa kaifa takfuroona wa antum tutlaa 'alaikum Aayaatul laahi wa feekum Rasooluh; wa mai ya'tasim baillaahi faqad hudiya ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

How can ye disbelieve, when it is ye unto whom Allah's revelations are recited, and His messenger is in your midst? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path.

اور تم کس طرح کافر ہوتے ہو اور تم پر پڑھی جاتی ہیں آیتیں اللہ کی اور تم میں اس کا رسول ہے اور جو کوئی مضبوط پکڑے اللہ کو تو اس کو ہدایت ہوئی سیدھے رستہ کی [۱۵۱]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanut taqul laaha haqqa tuqaatihee wa laa tamoontunna illaa wa antum muslimoon

O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)

اے ایمان والو ڈرتے رہو اللہ سے جیسا چاہیئے اس سے ڈرنا اور نہ مریو مگر مسلمان [۱۵۲]

وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًۭا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءًۭ فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًۭا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Wa'tasimoo bi Hablil laahi jamee'anw wa laa tafarraqoo; wazkuroo ni'matal laahi alaikum iz kuntum a'daaa'an fa allafa baina quloobikum fa asbah tum bini'matiheee ikhwaananw wa kuntum 'alaa shafaa hufratim minan Naari fa anqazakum minhaa; kazaalika yubaiyinul laahu lakum aayaatihee la'allakum tahtadoon

And hold fast, all of you together, to the cable of Allah, and do not separate. And remember Allah's favour unto you: How ye were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts so that ye became as brothers by His grace; and (how) ye were upon the brink of an abyss of fire, and He did save you from it. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations unto you, that haply ye may be guided,

اور مضبوط پکڑو رسی اللہ کی سب مل کر اور پھوٹ نہ ڈالو [۱۵۳] اور یاد کرو احسان اللہ کا اپنے اوپر جب کہ تھے تم آپس میں دشمن پھر الفت دی تمہارے دلوں میں اب ہو گئے اس کے فضل سے بھائی [۱۵۴] اور تم تھے کنارے پر ایک آگ کے گڑھے کے پھر تم کو اس سے نجات دی [۱۵۵] اسی طرح کھولتا ہے اللہ تم پر آیتیں تاکہ تم راہ پاؤ [۱۵۶]

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌۭ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Waltakum minkum ummatuny yad'oona ilal khairi wa yaamuroona bilma 'roofi wa yanhawna 'anil munkar; wa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

And there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency. Such are they who are successful.

اور چاہیئے کہ رہے تم میں ایک جماعت ایسی جو بلاتی رہے نیک کام کی طرف اور حکم کرتی رہے اچھے کاموں کا اور منع کریں برائی سے اور وہی پہنچے اپنی مراد کو [۱۵۷]

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ

Wa laa takoonoo kallazeena tafarraqoo wakhtalafoo mim ba'di maa jaaa'ahumul baiyinaat; wa ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabun 'azeem

And be ye not as those who separated and disputed after the clear proofs had come unto them. For such there is an awful doom,

اور مت ہو ان کی طرح جو متفرق ہو گئے اور اختلاف کرنے لگے بعد اس کے کہ پہنچ چکے ان کو حکم صاف اور ان کو بڑا عذاب ہے [۱۵۸]

يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌۭ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌۭ ۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

Yawma tabyaddu wujoohunw wa taswaddu wujooh; faammal lazeenas waddat wujoohum akafartum ba'da eemaanikum fazooqul 'azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuroon

On the Day when (some) faces will be whitened and (some) faces will be blackened; and as for those whose faces have been blackened, it will be said unto them: Disbelieved ye after your (profession of) belief? Then taste the punishment for that ye disbelieved.

جس دن کہ سفید ہوں گے بعضے منہ اور سیاہ ہوں گے بعضے منہ [۱۵۹] سو وہ لوگ کہ سیاہ ہوئے منہ ان کے ان سے کہا جائے گا کیا تم کافر ہو گئے ایمان لا کر [۱۶۰] اب چکھو عذاب بدلا اس کفر کرنے کا

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱبْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِى رَحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Wa ammal lazeenabyadd at wujoohuhum fafee rahmatil laahi hum feehaa khaalidoon

And as for those whose faces have been whitened, in the mercy of Allah they dwell for ever.

اور وہ لوگ کہ سفید ہوئے منہ ان کے سو رحمت میں ہیں اللہ کی وہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے [۱۶۱]

تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًۭا لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Tilka Aayaatul laahi natloohaa 'alaika bilhaqq; wa mal laahu yureedu zulmallil 'aalameen

These are revelations of Allah. We recite them unto thee in truth. Allah willeth no injustice to (His) creatures.

یہ حکم ہیں اللہ کے ہم سناتے ہیں تجھ کو ٹھیک ٹھیک اور اللہ ظلم کرنا نہیں چاہتا خلقت پر [۱۶۲]

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ

Wa lillaahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; wa ilal laahi turja;ul umoor

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; and unto Allah all things are returned.

اور اللہ ہی کا ہے جو کچھ کہ ہے آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ کہ ہے زمین میں اور اللہ کی طرف رجوع ہے ہر کام کا [۱۶۳]

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

Kuntum khaira ummatin ukhrijat linnaasi taamuroona bilma'roofi wa tanhawna 'anil munkari wa tu'minoona billaah; wa law aamana Ahlul Kitaabi lakaana khairal lahum minhumul mu'minoona wa aksaruhumul faasiqoon

Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers.

تم ہو بہتر سب امتوں سے جو بھیجی گئ عالم میں [۱۶۴] حکم کرتے ہو اچھے کاموں کا اور منع کرتے ہو برے کاموں سے [۱۶۵] اور ایمان لاتے ہو اللہ پر [۱۶۶] اور اگر ایمان لاتے اہل کتاب تو ان کے لئے بہتر تھا کچھ تو ان میں سے ہیں ایمان پر اور اکثر ان میں نافرمان ہیں [۱۶۷]

لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًۭى ۖ وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ

Lai yadurrookum 'illaaa azanw wa ai yuqaatilookum yuwallookumul adbaara summa laa yunsaroon

They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped.

وہ کچھ نہ بگاڑ سکیں گے تمہارا مگر ستانا زبان سے اور اگر تم سے لڑیں گے تو پیٹھ دیں گے پھر ان کی مدد نہ ہو گی [۱۶۸]

ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ

Duribat 'alaihimuz zillatu aina maa suqifooo illaa bihablim minal laahi wa hablim minan naasi wa baaa'oo bighadabim minallaahi wa duribat 'alaihimul maskanah; zaalika bi-annahum kaanoo yakfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wa yaqtuloonal Ambiyaaa'a bighairi haqq; zaalika bimaa 'asaw wa kaanoo ya'tadoon

Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save (where they grasp) a rope from Allah and a rope from men. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slew the prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress.

ماری گئ ان پر ذلت جہاں دیکھے جائیں سوائے دست آویز اللہ کے اور دست آویز لوگوں کے [۱۶۹] اور کمایا انہوں نے غصہ اللہ کا اور لازم کر دی گئ انکے اوپر حاجت مندی یہ اس واسطے کہ وہ انکار کرتے رہے ہیں اللہ کی آیتوں سے اور قتل کرتے رہے ہیں پیغمبروں کو ناحق یہ اس واسطے کہ نافرمانی کی انہوں نے اور حد سے نکل گئے [۱۷۰]

۞ لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءًۭ ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌۭ قَآئِمَةٌۭ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ

Laisoo sawaaa'a; min Ahlil Kitaabi ummatun qaaa'imatuny yatloona Aayaatil laahi aanaaa'al laili wa hum yasjudoon

They are not all alike. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community who recite the revelations of Allah in the night season, falling prostrate (before Him).

وہ سب برابر نہیں اہل کتاب میں ایک فرقہ ہے سیدھی راہ پر پڑھتے ہیں آیتیں اللہ کی راتوں کے وقت اور وہ سجدے کرتے ہیں

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Yu'minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa yaa muroona bilma'roofi wa yanhawna 'anil munkari wa yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa ulaa'ika minas saaliheen

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous.

ایمان لاتے ہیں اللہ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر اور حکم کرتے ہیں اچھی بات کا اور منع کرتے ہیں برے کاموں سے اور دوڑتے ہیں نیک کاموں پر اور وہی لوگ نیک بخت ہیں [۱۷۱]

وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Wa maa yaf'aloo min khairin falai yukfarooh; wallaahu 'aleemun bilmuttaqeen

And whatever good they do, they will not be denied the meed thereof. Allah is Aware of those who ward off (evil).

اور جو کچھ کریں گے وہ لوگ نیک کام اس کی ہرگز ناقدری نہ ہو گی [۱۷۲] اور اللہ کو خبر ہے پرہیزگاروں کی [۱۷۳]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya 'anhum amwaalum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai anw wa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun Naar; hum feehaa khaalidoon

Lo! the riches and the progeny of those who disbelieve will not avail them aught against Allah; and such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein.

وہ لوگ جو کافر ہیں ہرگز کام نہ آویں گے ان کو ان کےمال اور نہ اولاد اللہ کے آگے کچھ اور وہی لوگ رہنے والے ہیں آگ میں دوزخ کی وہ اس آگ میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍۢ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍۢ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

Masalu maa yunfiqoona fee haazihil hayaatid dunyaa kamasali reehin feehaa sirrun as aabat harsa qawmin zalamooo anfusahum fa ahlakath; wa maa zalamahumul laahu wa laakin anfusahum yazlimoon

The likeness of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a biting, icy wind which smiteth the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves, and devastateth it. Allah wronged them not, but they do wrong themselves.

جو کچھ خرچ کرتے ہیں اس دنیا کی زندگی میں اس کی مثال جیسے ایک ہوا کہ اس میں ہو پالا جا لگی کھیتی کو اس قوم کی کہ انہوں نے اپنے حق میں برا کیا تھا پھر اس کو نابود کر گئ [۱۷۴] اور اللہ نے ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا لیکن وہ اپنے اوپر ظلم کرتے ہیں [۱۷۵]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةًۭ مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًۭا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizoo bitaanatam min doonikum laa yaaloonakum khabaalanw waddoo maa 'anittum qad badatil baghdaaa'u min afwaahihim; wa maa tukhfee sudooruhum akbar; qad baiyannaa lakumul Aayaati in kuntum ta'qiloon

O ye who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would spare no pains to ruin you; they love to hamper you. Hatred is revealed by (the utterance of) their mouths, but that which their breasts hide is greater. We have made plain for you the revelations if ye will understand.

اے ایمان والو نہ بناؤ بھیدی کسی کو اپنوں کےسوا وہ کمی نہیں کرتےتمہاری خرابی میں انکی خوشی ہےتم جس قدر تکلیف میں رہو نکلی پڑتی ہےدشمنی انکی زبان سےاور جو کچھ مخفی ہے انکے جی میں وہ اس سے بہت زیادہ ہے ہم نےبتا دیےتم کو پتے اگر تم کو عقل ہے [۱۷۶]

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۚ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Haaa antum ulaaa'i tuhibboonahum wa laa yuhibboonakum wa tu'minoona bil kitaabi kullihee wa izaa laqookum qaalooo aamannaa wa izaa khalaw 'addoo 'alaikumul anaamila minal ghaiz; qul mootoo bighai zikum; innal laaha 'aleemum bizaatis sudoor

Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts.

سن لو تم لوگ ان کے دوست ہو اور وہ تمہارےدوست نہیں اور تم سب کتابوں کو مانتے ہو [۱۷۷] اور جب تم سے ملتے ہیں کہتے ہیں ہم مسلمان ہیں [۱۷۸] اور جب اکیلے ہوتے ہیں تو کاٹ کاٹ کھاتے ہیں تم پر انگلیاں غصہ سے [۱۷۹] تو کہہ مرو تم اپنے غصہ میں [۱۸۰] اللہ کو خوب معلوم ہیں دلوں کی باتیں [۱۸۱]

إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌۭ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۭ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌۭ

In tamsaskum hasanatun tasu'hum wa in tusibkum saiyi'atuny yafrahoo bihaa wa in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo laa yad urrukum kaiduhum shai'aa; innal laaha bimaa ya'maloona muheet

If a lucky chance befall you, it is evil unto them, and if disaster strike you they rejoice thereat. But if ye persevere and keep from evil their guile will never harm you. Lo! Allah is Surrounding what they do.

اگر تم کو ملے کچھ بھلائی تو بری لگی ہے ان کو اور اگر تم پر پہنچے کوئی برائی تو خوش ہو ں اس سے [۱۸۲] اور اگر تم صبر کرو اور بچتے رہو تو کچھ نہ بگڑے گا تمہارا ان کے فریب سے بیشک جو کچھ وہ کرتے ہیں سب اللہ کے بس میں ہے [۱۸۳]

وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Wa iz ghadawta min ahlika tubawwi'ul mu'mineena maqaa'ida lilqitaal; wallaahu samee'un 'aleem

And when thou settedst forth at daybreak from thy housefolk to assign to the believers their positions for the battle, Allah was Hearer, Knower.

اور جب صبح کو نکلا تو اپنے گھر سے بٹھلانے لگا مسلمانوں کو لڑائی کے ٹھکانوں پر اور اللہ سب کچھ سنتا جانتا ہے

إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا ۗ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Iz hammat taaa'ifataani minkum an tafshalaa wallaahu waliyyuhumaa; wa 'alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu'minoon

When two parties of you almost fell away, and Allah was their Protecting Friend. In Allah let believers put their trust.

جب قصد کیا دو فرقوں نے تم میں سے کہ نامردی کریں اور اللہ مددگار تھا ان کا اور اللہ ہی پر چاہیئے بھروسہ کریں مسلمان

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍۢ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

Wa laqad nasarakumul laahu bi-Badrinw wa antum azillatun fattaqul laaha la'allakum tashkuroon

Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful.

اور تمہاری مدد کر چکا ہے اللہ بدر کی لڑائی میں اور تم کمزور تھے سو ڈرتے رہو اللہ سے تاکہ تم احسان مانو [۱۸۴]

إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ

Iz taqoolu lilmu'mineena alai yakfiyakum ai-yumiddakum Rabbukum bisalaasati aalaafim minal malaaa'ikati munzaleen

When thou didst say unto the believers: Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should support you with three thousand angels sent down (to your help)?

جب تو کہنے لگا مسلمانوں کو کیا تم کو کافی نہیں کہ تمہاری مدد کو بھیجے رب تمہارا تین ہزار فرشتے آسمان سے اترنے والے [۱۸۵]

بَلَىٰٓ ۚ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ

Balaaa; in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo wa yaatookum min fawrihim haazaa yumdidkum Rabbukum bikhamsati aalaafim minal malaaa'ikati musawwaimeen

Nay, but if ye persevere, and keep from evil, and (the enemy) attack you suddenly, your Lord will help you with five thousand angels sweeping on.

البتہ اگر تم صبر کرو اور بچتے رہو اور وہ آئیں تم پر اسی دم تو مدد بھیجے تمہارا رب پانچ ہزار فرشتے نشان دار گھوڑوں پر [۱۸۶]

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

Wa maa ja'alahul laahu illaa bushraa lakum wa litatma'inna quloobukum bih' wa man-nasru illaa min 'indilllaahil 'Azeezil Hakeem

Allah ordained this only as a message of good cheer for you, and that thereby your hearts might be at rest - Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise -

اور یہ تو اللہ نے تمہارےدل کی خوشی کی اور تاکہ تسکین ہو تمہارے دلوں کو اس سے اور مدد ہے صرف اللہ ہی کی طرف سے جو کہ زبردست ہے حکمت والا [۱۸۷]

لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ

Laiyaqta'a tarafam minal lazeena kafarooo aw yakbitahum fayanqaliboo khaaa'ibeen

That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or overwhelm them so that they retire, frustrated.

تاکہ ہلاک کرے بعضے کافروں کو یا انکو ذلیل کرے تو پھر جاویں محروم ہو کر [۱۸۸]

لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

Laisa laka minal amrishai'un aw yatooba 'alaihim aw yu'az zi bahum fa innahum zaalimoon

It is no concern at all of thee (Muhammad) whether He relent toward them or punish them; for they are evil-doers.

تیرا اختیار کچھ نہیں یا انکو توبہ دیوے خدائے تعالیٰ یا انکو عذاب کرے کہ وہ ناحق پر ہیں [۱۸۹]

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Wa lilaahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil-ard; yaghfiru limai-yashaaa'u wa yu'azzibu mai-yashaaa'; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اور اللہ ہی کا مال ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ کہ زمین میں ہے بخش دے جس کو چاہے اور عذاب کرے جس کو چاہے اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے [۱۹۰]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَٰفًۭا مُّضَٰعَفَةًۭ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo la taakuhur ribaaa ad'aafam mudaa'afatanw wattaqul laaha la'allakum tuflihoon

O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful.

اے ایمان والو مت کھاؤ سود [۱۹۱] دونے پر دونا [۱۹۲] اور ڈرو اللہ سے تاکہ تمہارا بھلا ہو [۱۹۳]

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Wattaqun Naaral lateee u'iddat lilkaafireen

And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers.

اور بچو اس آگ سے جو تیار ہوئی کافروں کے واسطے [۱۹۴]

وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

Wa atee'ul laaha war Rasoola la'allakum turhamoon

And obey Allah and the messenger, that ye may find mercy.

اور حکم مانو اللہ کا اور رسول کا تاکہ تم پر رحم ہو [۱۹۵]

۞ وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Wa saari'ooo ilaa maghfiratim mir Rabbikum wa Jannatin arduhassamaawaatu wal ardu u'iddat lilmuttaqeen

And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil);

اور دوڑو بخشش کی طرف اپنے رب کی اور جنت کی طرف [۱۹۶] جس کا عرض ہے آسمان اور زمین [۱۹۷] تیار ہوئی ہے واسطے پرہیزگاروں کے

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Allazeena yunfiqoona fissarraaa'i waddarraaa'i wal kaazimeenal ghaiza wal aafeena 'anin-naas; wallaahu yuhibbul muhsineen

Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;

جو خرچ کئے جاتے ہیں خوشی میں اور تکلیف میں [۱۹۸] اور دبا لیتےہیں غصہ اور معاف کرتے ہیں لوگوں کو اور اللہ چاہتا ہے نیکی کرنے والوں کو [۱۹۹]

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Wallazeena izaa fa'aloo faahishatan aw zalamooo anfusahum zakarul laaha fastaghfaroo lizunoobihim; wa mai yaghfiruz zunooba illal laahu wa lam yusirroo 'alaa maa fa'aloo wa hum ya'lamooo

And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - Who forgiveth sins save Allah only? - and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did.

اور وہ لوگ کہ جب کر بیٹھیں کچھ کھلا گناہ یا برا کام کریں اپنے حق میں [۲۰۰] تو یاد کریں اللہ کو اور بخشش مانگیں اپنے گناہوں کی اور کون ہے گناہ بخشنے والا سوا اللہ کے اور اڑتے نہیں اپنے کئے پر اور وہ جانتے ہیں

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ

Ulaaa'ika jazaaa'uhum maghfiratum mir Rabbihim wa Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feeha; wa ni'ma ajrul 'aamileen

The reward of such will be forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever - a bountiful reward for workers!

انہی کی جزاء ہے بخشش ان کے رب کی اور باغ جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں ہمیشہ رہیں گے وہ لوگ ان باغوں میں اور کیا خوب مزدوری ہے کام کرنے والوں کی [۲۰۱]

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌۭ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Qad khalat min qablikum sunanum faseeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqiba tul mukazzibeen

Systems have passed away before you. Do but travel in the land and see the nature of the consequence for those who did deny (the messengers).

ہو چکے ہیں تم سے پہلے واقعات سو پھرو زمین میں اور دیکھو کہ کیا ہوا انجام جھٹلانے والوں کا [۲۰۲]

هَٰذَا بَيَانٌۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًۭى وَمَوْعِظَةٌۭ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

Haazaa bayaanul linnaasi wa hudanw wa maw'izatul lilmuttaqeen

This is a declaration for mankind, a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil)

یہ بیان ہے لوگوں کے واسطے اور ہدایت اور نصیحت ہے ڈرنے والوں کو [۲۰۳]

وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Wa laa tahinoo wa laa tahzanoo wa antumul a'lawna in kuntum mu'mineen

Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers.

اور سست نہ رہو اور نہ غم کھاؤ اور تم ہی غالب رہو گے اگر تم ایمان رکھتے ہو [۲۰۴]

إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌۭ فَقَدْ مَسَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌۭ مِّثْلُهُۥ ۚ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Iny-yamsaskum qarhum faqad massal qawma qarhum misluh; wa tilkal ayyaamu nudaawiluhaa bainan naasi wa liya'lamal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yattakhiza minkum shuhadaaa'; wallaahu laa yuh ibbuz zaalimeen

If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

اگر پہنچا تم کو زخم تو پہنچ چکا ہے ان کو بھی زخم ایسا ہی اور یہ دن باری باری بدلتے رہتے ہیں ہم ان کو لوگوں میں [۲۰۵] اور اس لئے کہ معلوم کرے اللہ جن کو ایمان ہے [۲۰۶] اور کرے تم میں سےشہید اور اللہ کو محبت نہیں ظلم کرنے والوں سے [۲۰۷]

وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Wa liyumahhisal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yamhaqal kaafireen

And that Allah may prove those who believe, and may blight the disbelievers.

اور اس واسطے کہ پاک صاف کرے اللہ ایمان والوں کو اور مٹا دیوے کافروں کو [۲۰۸]

أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

Am hasibtum an tadkhulul Jannnata wa lammaa ya'lamil laahul lazeena jaahadoo minkum wa ya'lamas saabireen

Or deemed ye that ye would enter paradise while yet Allah knoweth not those of you who really strive, nor knoweth those (of you) who are steadfast?

کیا تم کو خیال ہے کہ داخل ہو جاؤ گے جنت میں اور ابھی تک معلوم نہیں کیا اللہ نے جو لڑنے والے ہیں تم میں اور معلوم نہیں کیا ثابت رہنے والوں کو [۲۰۹]

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

Wa laqad kuntum tamannnawnal mawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad ra aitumoohu wa antum tanzuroon

And verily ye used to wish for death before ye met it (in the field). Now ye have seen it with your eyes!

اور تم تو آرزو کرتے تھے مرنے کی اس کی ملاقات سے پہلے سو اب دیکھ لیا تم نے اس کو آنکھوں کے سامنے [۲۱۰]

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌۭ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

Wa maa Muhammadun illaa Rasoolun qad khalat min qablihir Rusul; afa'im maata aw qutilan qalabtum 'alaaa a'qaabikum; wa mai yanqalib 'alaa aqibihi falai yadurral laaha shai'aa; wa sayajzil laahush shaakireen

Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dieth or is slain, ye will turn back on your heels? He who turneth back on his heels doth no hurt to Allah, and Allah will reward the thankful.

اور محمد تو ایک رسول ہے ہو چکے اس سے پہلے بہت رسول پھر کیا اگر وہ مر گیا یا مارا گیا تو تم پھر جاؤ گے الٹے پاؤں اور جو کوئی پھر جائے گا الٹے پاؤں تو ہر گز نہ بگاڑے گا اللہ کا کچھ اور اللہ ثواب دے گا شکر گذاروں کو [۲۱۱]

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَٰبًۭا مُّؤَجَّلًۭا ۗ وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا ۚ وَسَنَجْزِى ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

Wa maa kaana linafsin an tamoota illaa bi iznillaahi kitaabam mu'ajjalaa; wa mai yurid sawaabad dunyaa nu'tihee minhaa wa mai yurid sawaabal Aakhirati nu'tihee minhaa; wa sanajzish shaakireen

No soul can ever die except by Allah's leave and at a term appointed. Whoso desireth the reward of the world, We bestow on him thereof; and whoso desireth the reward of the Hereafter, We bestow on him thereof. We shall reward the thankful.

اور کوئی مر نہیں سکتا بغیر حکم اللہ کے لکھا ہوا ہے ایک وقت مقرر [۲۱۲] اور جو کوئی چاہے گا بدلہ دنیا کا دیویں گے ہم اس کو دنیا ہی سے [۲۱۳] اور جو کوئی چاہے گا بدلہ آخرت کا اس میں سےدیویں گے ہم اسکو [۲۱۴] اور ہم ثواب دیں گے احسان ماننے والوں کو [۲۱۵]

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِىٍّۢ قَٰتَلَ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌۭ فَمَا وَهَنُوا۟ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا۟ وَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

Wa ka aiyim min Nabiyyin qaatala ma'ahoo ribbiyyoona kaseerun famaa wahanoo limaaa Asaabahum fee sabeelil laahi wa maa da'ufoo wa mas takaanoo; wallaahu yuhibbus saabireen

And with how many a prophet have there been a number of devoted men who fought (beside him). They quailed not for aught that befell them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor were they brought low. Allah loveth the steadfast.

اور بہت نبی ہیں جن کے ساتھ ہو کر لڑے ہیں بہت خدا کے طالب پھر نہ ہارے ہیں کچھ تکلیف پہنچنے سے اللہ کی راہ میں اور نہ سست ہوئے ہیں اور نہ دب گئے ہیں اور اللہ محبت کرتا ہے ثابت قدم رہنے والوں سے [۲۱۶]

وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Wa maa kaana qawlahum illaa an qaaloo Rabbanagh fir lanaa zunoobanaa wa israafanaa feee amirnaa wa sabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen

Their cry was only that they said: Our Lord! forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

اور کچھ نہیں بولے مگر یہی کہا کہ اے رب ہمارےبخش ہمارے گناہ اور جو ہم سےزیادتی ہوئی ہمارےکام میں اور ثابت رکھ قدم ہمارے اور مدد دے ہم کو قوم کفار پر [۲۱۷]

فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Fa aataahumul laahu sawaabad dunyaa wa husna sawaabil Aakhirah; wallaahu yuhibbul muhsineen

So Allah gave them the reward of the world and the good reward of the Hereafter. Allah loveth those whose deeds are good.

پھر دیا اللہ نے ان کو ثواب دنیا کا اور خوب ثواب آخرت کا اور اللہ محبت رکھتا ہے نیک کام کرنے والوں سے [۲۱۸]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ

Yaaa 'aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo in tutee'ullazeena kafaroo yaruddookum 'alaaa a'qaabkum fatanqaliboo khaasireen

O ye who believe! if ye obey those who disbelieve, they will make you turn back on your heels, and ye turn back as losers.

اے ایمان والو اگر تم کہا مانو گے کافروں کا تو وہ تم کو پھیر دیں گے الٹے پاؤں پھر جا پڑو گے تم نقصان میں [۲۱۹]

بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ

Balil laahu mawlaakum wa Huwa khairun naasireen

But Allah is your Protector, and He is the Best of Helpers.

بلکہ اللہ تمہارا مددگار ہے اور اس کی مدد سب سے بہتر ہے [۲۲۰]

سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًۭا ۖ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Sanulqee fee quloobil lazeena kafarur ru'ba bimaaa ashrakoo billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaana-nw wa maawaahumun Naar; wa bi'sa maswaz zaalimeen

We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they ascribe unto Allah partners, for which no warrant hath been revealed. Their habitation is the Fire, and hapless the abode of the wrong-doers.

اب ڈالیں گے ہم کافروں کے دل میں ہیبت اس واسطے کہ انہوں نے شریک ٹھہرایا اللہ کا جس کی اس نے کوئی سند نہیں اتاری اور ان کا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہے اور وہ برا ٹھکانا ہے ظالموں کا [۲۲۱]

وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ ۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa laqad sadaqakumul laahu wa'dahooo iz tahussoo nahum bi iznihee hattaaa izaa fashiltim wa tanaaza'tum fil amri wa 'asaitum mim ba'di maaa araakum maa tuhibboon; minkum mai yureedud dunyaa wa minkum mai yureedul Aakhirah; summa sarafakum 'anhum sarafakum 'anhum liyabtaliyakum wa laqad 'afaa 'ankum; wallaahu zoo fadlin 'alal mu'mineen

Allah verily made good His promise unto you when ye routed them by His leave, until (the moment) when your courage failed you, and ye disagreed about the order and ye disobeyed, after He had shown you that for which ye long. Some of you desired the world, and some of you desired the Hereafter. Therefore He made you flee from them, that He might try you. Yet now He hath forgiven you. Allah is a Lord of Kindness to believers.

اور اللہ تو سچا کر چکا تم سے اپنا وعدہ جب تم قتل کرنے لگے انکو اسکے حکم سے [۲۲۲] یہاں تک کہ جب تم نے نامردی کی اور کام میں جھگڑا ڈالا اور نافرمانی کی [۲۲۳] بعد اس کے کہ تم کو دکھا چکا تمہاری خوشی کی چیز کوئی تم میں سے چاہتا تھا دنیا اور کوئی تم میں چاہتا تھا آخرت [۲۲۴] پھر تم کو الٹ دیا ان پر سے تاکہ تم کو آزماوے [۲۲۵] اور وہ تو تم کو معاف کر چکا [۲۲۶] اور اللہ کا فضل ہے ایمان والوں پر [۲۲۷]

۞ إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍۢ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِىٓ أُخْرَىٰكُمْ فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ غَمًّۢا بِغَمٍّۢ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

Iz tus'idoona wa laa talwoona 'alaaa ahadinw war Rasoolu yad'ookum feee ukhraakum fa asaabakum ghammam bighammil likailaa tahzanoo 'alaa maa faatakum wa laa maaa asaabakum; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon

When ye climbed (the hill) and paid no heed to anyone, while the messenger, in your rear, was calling you (to fight). Therefor He rewarded you grief for (his) grief, that (He might teach) you not to sorrow either for that which ye missed or for that which befell you. Allah is Informed of what ye do.

جب تم چڑھے چلے جاتے تھے اور پیچھے پھر کر نہ دیکھتے تھے کسی کو اور رسول پکارتا تھا تم کو تمہارے پیچھے سے [۲۲۸] پھرپہنچا تم کو غم عوض میں غم کے تاکہ تم غم نہ کیا کرو اس پر جو ہاتھ سے نکل جاوے اور نہ اس پر کہ جو کچھ پیش آ جاوے [۲۲۹] اور اللہ کو خبر ہے تمہارے کام کی [۲۳۰]

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةًۭ نُّعَاسًۭا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةًۭ مِّنكُمْ ۖ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ۖ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِ ۗ يُخْفُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ ۖ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌۭ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَٰهُنَا ۗ قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ ۖ وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Summa anzala 'alaikum mim ba'dil ghammi amanatan nu'aasai yaghshaa taaa' ifatam minkum wa taaa'ifatun qad ahammathum anfusuhum yazunnoona billaahi ghairal haqqi zannal jaahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lanaa minal amri min shai'; qul innal amra kullahoo lillaah; yukhfoona fee anfusihim maa laa yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kaana lanaa minal amri shai'ummaa qutilnaa haahunaa; qul law kuntum fee buyootikum labarazal lazeena kutiba 'alaihimul qatlu ilaa madaaji'ihim wa liyabtaliyal laahu maa fee sudoorikum wa liyumah hisa maa fee quloobikum; wallaahu 'aleemum bizaatis sudoor

Then, after grief, He sent down security for you. As slumber did it overcome a party of you, while (the other) party, who were anxious on their own account, thought wrongly of Allah, the thought of ignorance. They said: Have we any part in the cause? Say (O Muhammad): The cause belongeth wholly to Allah. They hide within themselves (a thought) which they reveal not unto thee, saying: Had we had any part in the cause we should not have been slain here. Say: Even though ye had been in your houses, those appointed to be slain would have gone forth to the places where they were to lie. (All this hath been) in order that Allah might try what is in your breasts and prove what is in your hearts. Allah is Aware of what is hidden in the breasts (of men).

پھر تم پر اتارا تنگی کے بعد امن کو جو اونگھ تھی کہ ڈھانک لیا اس اونگھ نے بعضوں کو تم میں سے [۲۳۱] اور بعضوں کو فکر پڑ رہا تھا اپنی جان کا [۲۳۲] خیال کرتےتھے اللہ پر جھوٹے خیال جاہلوں جیسے [۲۳۳] کہتے تھے کچھ بھی کام ہے ہمارے ہاتھ میں [۲۳۴] تو کہہ سب کام ہے اللہ کے ہاتھ [۲۳۵] وہ اپنے جی میں چھپاتے ہیں جو تجھ سے ظاہر نہیں کرتے کہتے ہیں اگر کچھ کام ہوتا ہمارے ہاتھ تو ہم مارےنہ جاتے اس جگہ [۲۳۶] تو کہہ اگر تم ہوتے اپنے گھروں میں البتہ باہر نکلتےجن پر لکھ دیا تھا مارا جانا اپنے پڑاؤ پر [۲۳۷] اور اللہ کو آزمانا تھا جو کچھ تمہارےجی میں ہے اور صاف کرنا تھا اس کا جو تمہارے دل میں ہے اور اللہ جانتا ہے دلوں کے بھید [۲۳۸]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌۭ

Innal lazeena tawallaw minkum yawmal taqal jam'aani innamas tazallahumush Shaitaanu biba'di maa kasaboo wa laqad 'afal laahu 'anhum; innnal laaha Ghafoorum Haleem

Lo! those of you who turned back on the day when the two hosts met, Satan alone it was who caused them to backslide, because of some of that which they have earned. Now Allah hath forgiven them. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Clement.

جو لوگ تم میں سے ہٹ گئے جس دن لڑیں دو فوجیں سو انکو بہکا دیا شیطان نے ان کے گناہ کی شامت سے اور ان کو بخش چکا اللہ اللہ بخشنے والا ہے تحمل کرنے والا[۲۳۹]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّۭى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةًۭ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌۭ

Yaaa ayyuhul lazeena aamanoo laa takoonoo kallazeena kafaroo wa qaaloo li ikhwaanihim izaa daraboo fil ardi aw kaanoo ghuzzal law kaanoo 'indanaa maa maatoo wa maa qutiloo liyaj'alal laahu zaalika hasratan fee quloobihim; qallaahu yuhyee wa yumeet; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona Baseer

O ye who believe! Be not as those who disbelieved and said of their brethren who went abroad in the land or were fighting in the field: If they had been (here) with us they would not have died or been killed: that Allah may make it anguish in their hearts. Allah giveth life and causeth death; and Allah is Seer of what ye do.

اے ایمان والو تم نہ ہو ان کی طرح جو کافر ہوئے [۲۴۰] اور کہتےہیں اپنے بھائیوں کو [۲۴۱] جب وہ سفر کو نکلیں ملک میں یا ہوں جہاد میں اگر رہتے ہمارے پاس تو نہ مرتے اور نہ مارے جاتے تاکہ اللہ ڈالے اس گمان سے افسوس ان کے دلوں میں [۲۴۲] اور اللہ ہی جلاتا ہے اور مارتا ہے [۲۴۳] اور اللہ تمہارے سب کام دیکھتا ہے [۲۴۴]

وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

Wa la'in qutiltum fee sabeelil laahi aw muttum lamaghfiratum minal laahi wa rahmatun khairum mimmaa yajma'oon

And what though ye be slain in Allah's way or die therein? Surely pardon from Allah and mercy are better than all that they amass.

اور اگر تم مارے گئے اللہ کی راہ میں یا مر گئے [۲۴۵] تو بخشش اللہ کی اور مہربانی اسکی بہتر ہے اس چیز سے جو وہ جمع کرتے ہیں

وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

Wa la'im muttum 'aw qutiltumla ilal laahi tuhsharoon

What though ye be slain or die, when unto Allah ye are gathered?

اور اگر تم مر گئے یا مارے گئے تو البتہ اللہ ہی کے آگے اکٹھے ہو گے تم سب [۲۴۶]

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ

Fabimaa rahmatim minal laahi linta lahum wa law kunta fazzan ghaleezal qalbi lanfaddoo min hawlika fafu 'anhum wastaghfir lahum wa shaawirhum fil amri fa izaa 'azamta fatawakkal 'alal laah; innallaaha yuhibbul mutawak kileen

It was by the mercy of Allah that thou wast lenient with them (O Muhammad), for if thou hadst been stern and fierce of heart they would have dispersed from round about thee. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult with them upon the conduct of affairs. And when thou art resolved, then put thy trust in Allah. Lo! Allah loveth those who put their trust (in Him).

سو کچھ اللہ ہی کی رحمت ہے جو تو نرم دل مل گیا ان کو اور اگر تو ہوتا تندخو سخت دل تو متفرق ہو جاتے تیرے پاس سے سو تو ان کو معاف کر اور ان کے واسطے بخشش مانگ اور ان سے مشورہ لے کام میں پھر جب قصد کر چکا تو اس کام کا تو پھر بھروسہ کر اللہ پر اللہ کو محبت ہے توکل والوں سے [۲۴۷]

إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۗ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Iny-yansurkumul laahu falaa ghaaliba lakum wa iny-yakhzulkum faman zal lazee yansurukum mim ba'dih; wa 'alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu'minoon

If Allah is your helper none can overcome you, and if He withdraw His help from you, who is there who can help you after Him? In Allah let believers put their trust.

اگر اللہ تمہاری مدد کرے گا تو کوئی تم پر غالب نہ ہو سکے گا اور اگر مدد نہ کرے تمہاری تو پھر ایسا کون ہے جو مدد کر سکے تمہاری اس کے بعد اور اللہ ہی پر بھروسا چاہئے مسلمانوں کو [۲۴۸]

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ ۚ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۚ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

Wa maa kaana li Nabiyyin ai yaghull; wa mai yaghlul yaati bimaa ghalla Yawmal Qiyaamah; summa tuwaffaa kullu nafsim maa kasabat wa hum laa yuzlamoon

It is not for any prophet to embezzle. Whoso embezzleth will bring what he embezzled with him on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be paid in full what it hath earned; and they will not be wronged.

اور نبی کا کام نہیں کہ کچھ چھپا رکھے اور جو کوئی چھپاوے گا وہ لائے گا اپنی چھپائی چیز دن قیامت کے پھر پورا پاوے گا ہر کوئی جو اس نے کمایا اور ان پر ظلم نہ ہو گا [۲۴۹]

أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

Afamanit taba'a Ridwaanal laahi kamam baaa'a bisakhatim minal laahi wa maawaahu Jahannam; wa bi'sal maseer

Is one who followeth the pleasure of Allah as one who hath earned condemnation from Allah, whose habitation is the Fire, a hapless journey's end?

کیا ایک شخص جو تابع ہے اللہ کی مرضی کا برابر ہو سکتا ہے اسکے جس نے کمایا غصہ اللہ کا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور کیا ہی بری جگہ پہنچا [۲۵۰]

هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ

Hum darajaatun 'indal laah; wallaahu baseerum bimaa ya'maloon

There are degrees (of grace and reprobation) with Allah, and Allah is Seer of what they do.

لوگوں کے مختلف درجے ہیں اللہ کے ہاں اور اللہ دیکھتا ہے جو کچھ کرتے ہیں [۲۵۱]

لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ

Laqad mannal laahu 'alal mu'mineena iz ba'asa feehim Rasoolam min anfusihim yatloo 'alaihim Aayaatihee wa yuzakkeehim wa yu'allimu humul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wa in kaanoo min qablu lafee dalaalim mubeen

Allah verily hath shown grace to the believers by sending unto them a messenger of their own who reciteth unto them His revelations, and causeth them to grow, and teacheth them the Scripture and wisdom; although before (he came to them) they were in flagrant error.

اللہ نے احسان کیا ایمان والوں پر جو بھیجا ان میں رسول انہی میں کا [۲۵۲] پڑھتا ہے ان پر آیتیں اس کی اور پاک کرتا ہے انکو یعنی شرک وغیرہ سے اور سکھلاتا ہے انکو کتاب اور کام کی بات اور وہ تو پہلے سے صریح گمراہی میں تھے [۲۵۳]

أَوَلَمَّآ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌۭ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَٰذَا ۖ قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Awa lammaaa asaabatkum museebatun qad asabtum mislaihaa qultum annaa haazaa qul huwa min 'indi anfusikum; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

And was it so, when a disaster smote you, though ye had smitten (them with a disaster) twice (as great), that ye said: How is this? Say (unto them, O Muhammad): It is from yourselves. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

کیا جس وقت پہنچی تم کو ایک تکلیف کہ تم پہنچا چکے ہو اس سے دوچند تو کہتے ہو یہ کہاں سے آئی [۲۵۴] تو کہہ دے یہ تکلیف تم کو پہنچی تمہاری ہی طرف سے [۲۵۵] بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa maa asaabakum yawmal taqal jam'aani fabiiznil laahi wa liya'lamal mu'mineen

That which befell you, on the day when the two armies met, was by permission of Allah; that He might know the true believers;

اور جو کچھ تم کو پیش آیا اس دن کہ ملیں دو فوجیں سو اللہ کے حکم سے اور اس واسطے کہ معلوم کرے ایمان والوں کو

وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ ۚ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوِ ٱدْفَعُوا۟ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًۭا لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْ ۗ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَٰنِ ۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ

Wa liya'lamal lazeena naafaqoo; wa qeela lahum ta'aalaw qaatiloo fee sabeelil laahi awid fa'oo qaaloo law na'lamu qitaalallat taba'naakum; hum lilkufri yawma'izin aqrabu minhum lil eemaan; yaqooloona bi afwaahihim maa laisa fee quloobihim; wallaahu a'lamu bimaa yaktumoon

And that He might know the hypocrites, unto whom it was said: Come, fight in the way of Allah, or defend yourselves. They answered: If we knew aught of fighting we would follow you. On that day they were nearer disbelief than faith. They utter with their mouths a thing which is not in their hearts. Allah is Best Aware of what they hide.

اور تاکہ معلوم کرے ان کو جو منافق تھے [۲۵۶] اور کہا گیا ان کو کہ آؤ لڑو اللہ کی راہ میں یا دفع کرو دشمن کو [۲۵۷] بولے اگر ہم کو معلوم ہو لڑائی تو البتہ تمہارےساتھ رہیں [۲۵۸] وہ لوگ اس دن کفر کے قریب ہیں بہ نسبت ایمان کے [۲۵۹] کہتےہیں اپنے منہ سے جو نہیں ان کے دل میں اور اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ چھپاتے ہیں [۲۶۰]

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا۟ لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا۟ ۗ قُلْ فَٱدْرَءُوا۟ عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Allazeena qaaloo liikhwaanihim wa qa'adoo law ataa'oonaa maa qutiloo; qul fadra'oo'an anfusikumul mawta in kuntum saadiqeen

Those who, while they sat at home, said of their brethren (who were fighting for the cause of Allah): If they had been guided by us they would not have been slain. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Then avert death from yourselves if ye are truthful.

وہ لوگ ہیں جو کہتے ہیں اپنے بھائیوں کو اور آپ بیٹھ رہے ہیں اگر وہ ہماری بات مانتے تو مارے نہ جاتے [۲۶۱] تو کہہ دے اب ہٹا دیجو اپنے اوپر سے موت کو اگر تم سچے ہو [۲۶۲]

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ

Wa laa tahsabannal lazeena qutiloo fee sabeelillaahi amwaata; bal ahyaaa'un 'inda Rabbihim yurzaqoon

Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord they have provision.

اور تو نہ سمجھ ان لوگوں کو جو مارے گئے اللہ کی راہ میں مردے بلکہ وہ زندہ ہیں اپنے رب کے پاس کھاتے پیتے

فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Fariheena bimaaa aataa humul laahu min fadlihee wa yastabshiroona billazeena lam yalhaqoo bihim min fadlihee wa yastabshiroona billazeena lam yalhaqoo bihim min khalfihim allaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

Jubilant (are they) because of that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not joined them but are left behind: That there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

خوشی کرتے ہیں اس پر جو دیا ان کو اللہ نے اپنے فضل سے اور خوش وقت ہوتے ہیں انکی طرف سے جو ابھی تک نہیں پہنچے ان کے پاس ان کے پیچھے سے اس واسطے کہ نہ ڈر ہے ان پر اور نہ انکو غم

۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍۢ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Yastabshiroona bini'matim minal laahi wa fad linw wa annal laaha laa yudee'u ajral mu'mineen

They rejoice because of favour from Allah and kindness, and that Allah wasteth not the wage of the believers.

خوش وقت ہوتے ہیں اللہ کی نعمت اور فضل سے اور اس بات سے کہ اللہ ضائع نہیں کرتا مزدوری ایمان والوں کی [۲۶۳]

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

Allazeenas tajaaboo lil laahi war Rasooli mim ba'di maaa asaabahumulqarh; lillazeena ahsanoo minhum wattaqaw ajrun 'azeem

As for those who heard the call of Allah and His messenger after the harm befell them (in the fight); for such of them as do right and ward off (evil), there is great reward.

جن لوگوں نے حکم مانا اللہ کا اور رسول کا بعد اس کے کہ پہنچ چکے تھے ان کو زخم جو ان میں نیک ہیں اور پرہیزگار ان کو ثواب بڑا ہے

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَٰنًۭا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ

Allazeena qaala lahumun naasu innan naasa qad jama'oo lakum fakhshawhuin fazaadahum eemaannanwa wa qaaloo hasbunal laahu wa ni'malwakeel

Those unto whom men said: Lo! the people have gathered against you, therefor fear them. (The threat of danger) but increased the faith of them and they cried: Allah is Sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust!

جن کو کہا لوگوں نے کہ مکہ والے آدمیوں نے جمع کیا ہے سامان تمہارے مقابلہ کو سو تم ان سے ڈرو تو اور زیادہ ہوا ان کا ایمان اور بولے کافی ہے ہم کو اللہ اور کیا خوب کارساز ہے [۲۶۴]

فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍۢ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌۭ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ

Fanqalaboo bini'matim minal laahi wa fadlil lam yamsashum sooo'unw wattaba'oo ridwaanal laah; wallaahu zoo fadlin 'azeem

So they returned with grace and favour from Allah, and no harm touched them. They followed the good pleasure of Allah, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty.

پھر چلے آئے مسلمان اللہ کے احسان اور فضل کے ساتھ کچھ نہ پہنچی ان کو برائی اور تابع ہوئے اللہ کی مرضی کے اور اللہ کا فضل بڑا ہے [۲۶۵]

إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Innamaa zaalikumush Shaitaanu yukhawwifu awliyaaa'ahoo falaa takhaafoohum wa khaafooni in kuntum mu'mineen

It is only the devil who would make (men) fear his partisans. Fear them not; fear Me, if ye are true believers.

یہ جو ہے سو شیطان ہے کہ ڈراتا ہے اپنے دوستوں سے سو تم ان سے مت ڈرو اور مجھ سے ڈرو اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو [۲۶۶]

وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا ۗ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّۭا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Wa laa yahzunkal lazeena yusaari'oona fil Kufr; innahum lai yadurrul laaha shai'aa; yureedul laahu allaa yaj'ala lahum hazzan fil Aakhirati wa lahum 'azaabun 'azeem

Let not their conduct grieve thee, who run easily to disbelief, for lo! they injure Allah not at all. It is Allah's Will to assign them no portion in the Hereafter, and theirs will be an awful doom.

اور غم میں نہ ڈالیں تجھ کو وہ لوگ جو دوڑتے ہیں کفر کی طرف وہ نہ بگاڑیں گے اللہ کا کچھ اللہ چاہتا ہے کہ ان کو فائدہ نہ دے آخرت میں اور ان کے لئے عذاب ہے بڑا [۲۶۷]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Innal lazeenash tarawul kufra bil eemaani lai yadurrul laaha shai anw wa lahum 'azdaabun aleem

Those who purchase disbelief at the price of faith harm Allah not at all, but theirs will be a painful doom.

جنہوں نے مول لیا کفر کو ایمان کے بدلے وہ نہ بگاڑیں گے اللہ کا کچھ اور انکے لئے عذاب ہے دردناک [۲۶۸]

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِثْمًۭا ۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ

Wa laa yahsabannal lazeena kafarooo annamaa numlee lahum khairulli anfusihim; innamaa numlee lahum liyazdaadooo ismaa wa lahum 'azaabum muheen

And let not those who disbelieve imagine that the rein We give them bodeth good unto their souls. We only give them rein that they may grow in sinfulness. And theirs will be a shameful doom.

اور یہ نہ سمجھیں کافر کہ ہم جو مہلت دیتے ہیں ان کو کچھ بھلا ہے ان کے حق میں ہم تو مہلت دیتے ہیں ان کو تاکہ ترقی کریں وہ گناہ میں اور ان کے لئے عذاب ہے خوار کرنے والا [۲۶۹]

مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۚ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌۭ

Maa kaanal laahu liyazaral mu'mineena 'alaa maaa antum 'alaihi hattaa yameezal khabeesa minat taiyib; wa maa kaanal laahu liyutli'akum 'alal ghaibi wa laakinnal laaha yajtabee mir Rusulihii mai yashaaa'u fa aaminoo billaahi wa Rusulih; wa in tu 'minoo wa tattaqoo falakum ajrun 'azeem

It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. And it is not (the purpose of) Allah to let you know the Unseen. But Allah chooseth of His messengers whom He will, (to receive knowledge thereof). So believe in Allah and His messengers. If ye believe and ward off (evil), yours will be a vast reward.

اللہ وہ نہیں کہ چھوڑ دےمسلمانوں کو اس حالت پر جس پر تم ہو جب تک کہ جدا نہ کر دے ناپاک کو پاک سے اور اللہ نہیں ہے کہ تم کو خبر دے غیب کی لیکن اللہ چھانٹ لیتا ہے اپنے رسولوں میں جس کو چاہے [۲۷۰] سو تم یقین لاؤ اللہ پر اور اسکے رسولوں پر اور اگر تم یقین پر رہو اور پرہیزگاری پر تو تم کو بڑا ثواب ہے [۲۷۱]

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۖ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّۭ لَّهُمْ ۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ

Wa laa yahsabannal lazeena yabkhaloon bimaa aataahumul lahu min fadilhee huwa khairal lahum bal huwa sharrul lahum sayutaw waqoona maa bakhiloo bihee Yawmal Qiyaamah; wa lillaahi meeraasus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona Khabeer

And let not those who hoard up that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty think that it is better for them. Nay, it is worse for them. That which they hoard will be their collar on the Day of Resurrection. Allah's is the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Informed of what ye do.

اور نہ خیال کریں وہ لوگ جو بخل کرتے ہیں اس چیز پر جو اللہ نے انکو دی ہے اپنے فضل سے کہ یہ بخل بہتر ہے انکے حق میں بلکہ یہ بہت برا ہے انکے حق میں طوق بنا کر ڈالا جائے گا انکے گلوں میں وہ مال جس میں بخل کیا تھا قیامت کے دن [۲۷۲] اور اللہ وارث ہے آسمان اور زمین کا [۲۷۳] اور اللہ جو کرتے ہو سو جانتا ہے [۲۷۴]

لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌۭ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ ۘ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

Laqad sami'al laahu qawlal lazeena qaalooo innal laaha faqeerunw wa nahnu aghniyaaa'; sanaktubu maa qaaloo wa qatlahumul Ambiyaa'a bighairi haqqinw wa naqoolu zooqoo 'azaaba Ihreeq

Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said, (when asked for contributions to the war): "Allah, forsooth, is poor, and we are rich!" We shall record their saying with their slaying of the prophets wrongfully and We shall say: Taste ye the punishment of burning!

بیشک اللہ نے سنی ان کی بات جنہوں نے کہا کہ اللہ فقیر ہے اور ہم مالدار [۲۷۵] اب لکھ رکھیں گے ہم انکی بات اور جو خون کئے ہیں انہوں نے انبیاء کے ناحق اور کہیں گے چکھو عذاب جلتی آگ کا [۲۷۶]

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

Zaalika bimaa qaddamat aideekum wa annal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil'abeed

This is on account of that which your own hands have sent before (you to the judgment). Allah is no oppressor of (His) bondmen.

یہ بدلہ اس کا ہے جو تم نے اپنے ہاتھوں آگے بھیجا اور اللہ ظلم نہیں کرتا بندوں پر [۲۷۷]

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍۢ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ ۗ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Allazeena qaalooo innal laaha 'ahida ilainaaa allaa nu'mina liRasoolin hatta yaa tiyanaa biqurbaanin taa kuluhun naar; qul qad jaaa'akum Rusulum min qablee bilbaiyinaati wa billazee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kuntum saadiqeen

(The same are) those who say: Lo! Allah hath charged us that we believe not in any messenger until he bring us an offering which fire (from heaven) shall devour. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Messengers came unto you before me with miracles, and with that (very miracle) which ye describe. Why then did ye slay them? (Answer that) if ye are truthful!

وہ لوگ جو کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ نے ہم کو کہہ رکھا ہے کہ یقین نہ کریں کسی رسول کا جب تک نہ لاوے ہمارے پاس قربانی کہ کھا جائے اس کو آگ [۲۷۸] تو کہہ تم میں آ چکے کتنے رسول مجھ سے پہلے نشانیاں لے کر اور یہ بھی جو تم نے کہا پھر ان کو کیوں قتل کیا تم نے اگر تم سچے ہو [۲۷۹]

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ

Fa in kaz zabooka faqad kuz ziba Rusulum min qablika jaaa'oo bilbaiyinaati waz Zuburi wal Kitaabil Muneer

And if they deny thee, even so did they deny messengers who were before thee, who came with miracles and with the Psalms and with the Scripture giving light.

پھر اگر یہ تجھ کو جھٹلاویں تو پہلے تجھ سے جھٹلائے گئے بہت رسول جو لائے نشانیاں اور صحیفے اور کتاب روشن [۲۸۰]

كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ ۗ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ

Kulu nafsin zaaa'iqatul mawt; wa innamaa tuwaffawna ujoorakum Yawmal Qiyaamati faman zuhziha 'anin Naari waudkhilal Jannata faqad faaz; wa mal hayaatud dunyaaa illaa mataa'ul ghuroor

Every soul will taste of death. And ye will be paid on the Day of Resurrection only that which ye have fairly earned. Whoso is removed from the Fire and is made to enter paradise, he indeed is triumphant. The life of this world is but comfort of illusion.

ہر جی کو چکھنی ہے موت اور تم کو پورے بدلے ملیں گے قیامت کے دن [۲۸۱] پھر جو کوئی دور کیا گیا دوزخ سے اور داخل کیا گیا جنت میں اس کا کام تو بن گیا اور نہیں زندگانی دنیا کی مگر پونجی دھوکے کی [۲۸۲]

۞ لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًۭى كَثِيرًۭا ۚ وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ

Latublawunna feee amwaalikum wa anfusikum wa latasma'unna minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablikum wa minal lazeena ashrakooo azan kaseeraa; wa in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo fa inna zaalika min 'azmil umoor

Assuredly ye will be tried in your property and in your persons, and ye will hear much wrong from those who were given the Scripture before you, and from the idolaters. But if ye persevere and ward off (evil), then that is of the steadfast heart of things.

البتہ تمہاری آزمائش ہو گی مالوں میں اور جانوں میں اور البتہ سنو گے تم اگلی کتاب والوں سے اور مشرکوں سے بدگوئی بہت اور اگر تم صبر کرو اور پرہیزگاری کرو تو یہ ہمت کے کام ہیں [۲۸۳]

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ

Wa iz akhazal laahu meesaaqal lazeena ootul Kitaaba latubaiyinunnahoo linnaasi wa laa taktumoona hoo fanabazoohu waraaa'a zuhoorihim washtaraw bihee samanan qaleelan fabi'sa maa yashtaroon

And (remember) when Allah laid a charge on those who had received the Scripture (He said): Ye are to expound it to mankind and not to hide it. But they flung it behind their backs and bought thereby a little gain. Verily evil is that which they have gained thereby.

اور جب اللہ نے عہد لیا کتاب والوں سے کہ اس کو بیان کرو گے لوگوں سے اور نہ چھپاؤ گے پھر پھینک دیا انہوں نے وہ عہد اپنی پیٹھ کے پیچھے اور خرید کیا اس کے بدلے تھوڑا سا مول سو کیا برا ہے جو خریدتے ہیں [۲۸۴]

لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Laa tahsabannal lazeena yafrahoona bimaaa ataw wa yuhibbona ai yuhmadoo bimaa lam yaf'aloo falaa tahsabunnahum bimafaazatim minal 'azaabi wa lahum 'azaabun aleem

Think not that those who exult in what they have given, and love to be praised for what they have not done - Think not, they are in safety from the doom. A painful doom is theirs.

تو نہ سمجھ کہ جو لوگ خوش ہوتے ہیں اپنے کئے پر اور تعریف چاہتے ہیں بن کئے پر سو مت سمجھ ان کو کہ چھوٹ گئے عذاب سے اور ان کے لئےعذاب ہے دردناک [۲۸۵]

وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌ

Wa lillaahi mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. Allah is Able to do all things.

اور اللہ ہی کے لئے ہے سلطنت آسمان اور زمین کی اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے [۲۸۶]

إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

Inna fee khalqis samaawati wal ardi wakhtilaafil laili wannahaari la Aayaatil liulil albaab

Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and (in) the difference of night and day are tokens (of His Sovereignty) for men of understanding,

بیشک آسمان اور زمین کا بنانا اور رات اور دن کا آنا جانا اس میں نشانیاں ہیں عقل والوں کو [۲۸۷]

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًۭا وَقُعُودًۭا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلًۭا سُبْحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Allazeena yazkuroonal laaha qiyaamaiw-wa qu'oodanw-wa 'alaa juno obihim wa yatafakkaroona fee khalqis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haaza baatilan Subhaanak faqinaa 'azaaban Naar

Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire.

وہ جو یاد کرتے ہیں اللہ کو کھڑے اور بیٹھے اور کروٹ پر لیٹے [۲۸۸] اور فکر کرتے ہیں آسمان اور زمین کی پیدائش میں کہتے ہیں اے رب ہمارے تو نے یہ عبث نہیں بنایا تو پاک ہے سب عیبوں سے ہم کو بچا دوزخ کے عذاب سے [۲۸۹]

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍۢ

Rabbanaaa innaka man tudkhilin Naara faqad akhzai tahoo wa maa lizzaalimeena min ansaar

Our Lord! Whom Thou causest to enter the Fire: him indeed Thou hast confounded. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.

اے رب ہمارے جس کو تو نے دوزخ میں ڈالا سو اس کو رسوا کر دیا [۲۹۰] اور نہیں کوئی گنہگاروں کا مددگار [۲۹۱]

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًۭا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ

Rabbanaaa innanaa sami'naa munaadiyai yunaadee lil eemaani an aaminoo bi Rabbikum fa aamannaa; Rabbanaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa kaffir 'annaa saiyi aatina wa tawaffanaa ma'al abraar

Our Lord! Lo! we have heard a crier calling unto Faith: "Believe ye in your Lord!" So we believed. Our Lord! Therefor forgive us our sins, and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die the death of the righteous.

اے رب ہمارے ہم نے سنا کہ ایک پکارنے والا پکارتا ہے ایمان لانے کو کہ ایمان لاؤ اپنے رب پر [۲۹۲] سو ہم ایمان لے آئے [۲۹۳] اے رب ہمارے اب بخش دے گناہ ہمارے اور دور کر دے ہم سے برائیاں ہماری اور موت دے ہم کو نیک لوگوں کے ساتھ [۲۹۴]

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa'attanaa 'alaa Rusulika wa laa tukhzinaa Yawmal Qiyaamah; innaka laa tukhliful mee'aad

Our Lord! And give us that which Thou hast promised to us by Thy messengers. Confound us not upon the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Thou breakest not the tryst.

اے رب ہمارے اور دے ہم کو جو وعدہ کیا تو نے ہم سے اپنے رسولوں کے واسطہ سے اور رسوا نہ کر ہم کو قیامت کے دن [۲۹۵] بیشک تو وعدہ کے خلاف نہیں کرتا [۲۹۶]

فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ أَنِّى لَآ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَٰمِلٍۢ مِّنكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ ۖ بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍۢ ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَأُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِى وَقَٰتَلُوا۟ وَقُتِلُوا۟ لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ثَوَابًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلثَّوَابِ

Fastajaaba lahum Rabbuhum annee laaa Udee'u 'amala 'aamilim minkum min zakarin aw unsaa ba'dukum mim ba'din fal lazeena haajaroo wa ukhrijoo min diyaarihim wa oozoo fee sabeelee wa qaataloo wa qutiloo la ukaffiranna 'anhum saiyi aatihim wa la udkhilanna hum Jannnatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru sawaabam min 'indil laah; wallaahu 'indahoo husnus sawaab

And their Lord hath heard them (and He saith): Lo! I suffer not the work of any worker, male or female, to be lost. Ye proceed one from another. So those who fled and were driven forth from their homes and suffered damage for My cause, and fought and were slain, verily I shall remit their evil deeds from them and verily I shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow - A reward from Allah. And with Allah is the fairest of rewards.

پھر قبول کی ان کی دعا انکے رب نے کہ میں ضائع نہیں کرتا محنت کسی محنت کرنے والے کی تم میں سے مرد ہو یا عورت تم آپس میں ایک ہو [۲۹۷] پھر وہ لوگ کہ ہجرت کی انہوں نے اور نکالے گئے اپنے گھروں سے اور ستائے گئے میری راہ میں اور لڑے اور مارے گئے البتہ دور کروں گا میں ان سے برائیاں ان کی اور داخل کروں گا ان کو باغوں میں جن کے نیچے بہتی ہیں نہریں [۲۹۸] یہ بدلہ ہے اللہ کےہاں سے اور اللہ کے ہاں ہے اچھا بدلہ [۲۹۹]

لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ

Laa yaghurrannaka taqal lubul lazeena kafaroo fil bilaad

Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad).

تجھ کو دھوکا نہ دے چلنا پھرنا کافروں کا شہروں میں

مَتَٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ ثُمَّ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

Mataa'un qaleelun summa maawaahum Jahannam; wa bi'sal mihaad

It is but a brief comfort. And afterward their habitation will be hell, an ill abode.

یہ فائدہ ہے تھوڑا سا پھر ان کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور وہ بہت برا ٹھکانا ہے [۳۰۰]

لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلْأَبْرَارِ

Laakinil lazeenat taqaw Rabbahum lahum Jannnaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa nuzulammin 'indil laah; wa maa 'indal laahi khairul lil abraar

But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will be safe for ever. A gift of welcome from their Lord. That which Allah hath in store is better for the righteous.

لیکن جو لوگ ڈرتے رہے اپنے رب سے انکے لئے باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے بہتی ہیں نہریں ہمیشہ رہیں گے ان میں [۳۰۱] مہمانی ہے اللہ کے ہاں سے [۳۰۲] اور جو اللہ کے ہاں ہے سو بہتر ہے نیک بختوں کے واسطے

وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَمَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَٰشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا ۗ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Wa inna min Ahlil Kitaabi lamai yu minu billaahi wa maaa unzila ilaikum wa maaa unzila ilaihim khaashi 'eena lillaahi laa yashtaroona bi Aayaatil laahi samanan qaleelaa; ulaaa'ika lahum ajruhum 'inda Rabbihim; innal laaha saree'ul hisaab

And lo! of the People of the Scripture there are some who believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto you and that which was revealed unto them, humbling themselves before Allah. They purchase not a trifling gain at the price of the revelations of Allah. Verily their reward is with their Lord. Lo! Allah is swift to take account.

اور کتاب والوں میں بعضے وہ بھی ہیں جو ایمان لاتے ہیں اللہ پر اور جو اترا تمہاری طرف اور جو اترا انکی طرف عاجزی کرتےہیں اللہ کے آگے نہیں خریدتے اللہ کی آیتوں پر مول تھوڑا یہی ہیں جن کے لئے مزدوری ہے ان کے رب کے ہاں [۳۰۳] بیشک اللہ جلد لیتا ہے حساب [۳۰۴]

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanus biroo wa saabiroo wa raabitoo wattaqul laaha la'allakum tuflihoon

O ye who believe! Endure, outdo all others in endurance, be ready, and observe your duty to Allah, in order that ye may succeed.

اے ایمان والو صبر کرو اور مقابلہ میں مضبوط رہو اور لگے رہو اور ڈرتے رہو اللہ سے تاکہ تم اپنی مراد کو پہنچو [۳۰۵]
