Saad

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ صٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ذِى ٱلذِّكْرِ

Saaad; wal-Qur-aani ziz zikr

Sad. By the renowned Qur'an,

ص۔قسم ہے اُس قرآن سمجھانے والے کی

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى عِزَّةٍۢ وَشِقَاقٍۢ

Balil lazeena kafaroo fee 'izzatilnw wa shiqaaq

Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism.

بلکہ جو لوگ منکر ہیں غرور میں ہیں اور مقابلہ میں [۱]

كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍۢ فَنَادَوا۟ وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍۢ

Kam ahlaknaa min qablihim min qarnin fanaadaw wa laata heena manaas

How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape!

بہت غارت کر دیں ہم نے ان سے پہلے جماعتیں پھر لگے پکارنے اور وقت نہ رہا تھا خلاصی کا [۲]

وَعَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَٰحِرٌۭ كَذَّابٌ

Wa 'ajibooo an jaaa'a hum munzirum minhum wa qaalal kaafiroona haazaa saahirun kazzaab

And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan.

اور تعجب کرنے لگے اس بات پر کہ آیا ان کے پاس ایک ڈر سنانے والا انہی میں سے اور کہنے لگے منکر یہ جادوگر ہے جھوٹا [۳]

أَجَعَلَ ٱلْءَالِهَةَ إِلَٰهًۭا وَٰحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عُجَابٌۭ

Aja'alal aalihata Ilaahanw Waahidan inna haazaa lashai'un 'ujaab

Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing.

کیا اس نے کر دی اتنوں کی بندگی کے بدلے ایک ہی کی بندگی یہ بھی ہے بڑے تعجب کی بات

وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱمْشُوا۟ وَٱصْبِرُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌۭ يُرَادُ

Wantalaqal mala-u minhum anim shoo wasbiroo 'alaaa aalihatikum innna haazaa lashai 'uny yuraad

The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed.

اور چل کھڑےہوئے کئ پنچ ان میں سے کہ چلو اور جمے رہو اپنے معبودوں پر [۴] بیشک اس بات میں کوئی غرض ہے [۵]

مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِى ٱلْمِلَّةِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخْتِلَٰقٌ

Maa sami'naa bihaazaa fil millatil aakhirati in haazaaa illakh tilaaq

We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention.

یہ نہیں سنا ہم نے اس پچھلے دین میں اور کچھ نہیں یہ بنائی ہوئی بات ہے [۶]

أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ مِّن ذِكْرِى ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِ

'A-unzila 'alaihiz zikru mim baininaa; bal hum fee shakkim min Zikree bal lammaa yazooqoo 'azaab

Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom.

کیا اسی پر اتری نصیحت ہم سب میں سے [۷] کوئی نہیں ان کو دھوکا ہے میری نصیحت میں کوئی نہیں ابھی انہوں نے چکھی نہیں میری مار [۸]

أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْوَهَّابِ

Am'indahum khazaaa 'inu rahmati Rabbikal 'Azeezil Wahhab

Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower?

کیا ان کے پا س ہیں خزانے تیرے رب کی مہربانی کے جو کہ زبردست ہے بخشنے والا

أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَسْبَٰبِ

Am lahum mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa falyartaqoo fil asbaab

Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes!

یا ان کی حکومت ہے آسمانوں میں اور زمین میں اورجو کچھ ان کے بیچ میں ہے تو انکو چاہئے کہ چڑھ جائیں رسیاں تان کر [۹]

جُندٌۭ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ

Jundum maa hunaalika mahzoomum minal Ahzaab

A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there.

ایک لشکر یہ بھی وہاں تباہ ہوا ان سب لشکروں میں [۱۰]

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٌۭ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ

Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Lootinw-wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu zul awtaad

The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted,

جھٹلا چکے ہیں ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم اور عاد اور فرعون میخوں والا [۱۱]

وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ

Wa Samoodu wa qawmu Lootinw wa Ashaabul 'Aykah; ulaaa'ikal Ahzaab

And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions.

اور ثمود اور لوط کی قوم اور ایکہ کے لوگ [۱۲] وہ بڑی بڑی فوجیں

إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ

In kullun illaa kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa 'iqaab

Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified,

یہ جتنے تھے سب نے یہی کیاکہ جھٹلایا رسولوں کو پھر ثابت ہوئی میرے طرف سے سزا [۱۳]

وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍۢ

Wa maa yanzuru haaa ulaaa'i illaa saihatanw waahidatam maa lahaa min fawaaq

These wait for but one Shout, there will be no second thereto.

اور راہ نہیں دیکھتے یہ لوگ مگر ایک چنگھاڑ کی جو بیچ میں دم نہ لے گی [۱۴]

وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Wa qaaloo Rabbanaa 'ajjil lanaa qittanaa qabla Yawmil Hisaab

They say: Our Lord! Hasten on for us our fate before the Day of Reckoning.

اور کہتے ہیں اے رب جلد دے ہم کو چھٹی ہماری پہلے حساب کے دن سے [۱۵]

ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

Isbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wazkur 'abdanaa Daawooda zal aidi aidi innahooo awwaab

Bear with what they say, and remember Our bondman David, lord of might, Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah).

تو تحمل کرتا رہ اس پر جو وہ کہتے ہیں اور یاد کر ہمارے بندے داؤد قوت والے کو وہ تھا رجوع رہنے والا [۱۶]

إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا ٱلْجِبَالَ مَعَهُۥ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِ

Innaa sakhkharnal jibaala ma'ahoo yusabbihna bil'ashaiyi wal ishraaq

Lo! We subdued the hills to hymn the praises (of their Lord) with him at nightfall and sunrise,

ہم نے تابع کیے پہاڑ اس کےساتھ پاکی بولتے تھے شام کو اور صبح کو [۱۷]

وَٱلطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةًۭ ۖ كُلٌّۭ لَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌۭ

Wattayra mahshoorah; kullul lahooo awwaab

And the birds assembled; all were turning unto Him.

اور اڑتے جانور جمع ہو کر سب تھے اس کے آگے رجوع رہتے [۱۸]

وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُۥ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ

Wa shadadnaa mulkahoo wa aatainaahul Hikmata wa faslal khitaab

We made his kingdom strong and gave him wisdom and decisive speech.

اور قوت دی ہم نے اسکی سلطنت کو [۱۹] اور دی اس کو تدبیر اور فیصلہ کرنا بات کا [۲۰]

۞ وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا۟ ٱلْمِحْرَابَ

Wa hal ataaka naba'ul khasm; iz tasawwarul mihraab

And hath the story of the litigants come unto thee? How they climbed the wall into the royal chamber;

اور پہنچی ہے تجھ کو خبر دعوے والوں کی جب دیوار کود کر آئے عبادت خانہ میں

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَٱهْدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ

Iz dakhaloo 'alaa Daawooda fafazi'a minhum qaaloo la takhaf khasmaani baghaa ba'dunaa 'alaa ba'din fahkum bainanaaa bilhaqqi wa laa tushtit wahdinaaa ilaa Sawaaa'is Siraat

How they burst in upon David, and he was afraid of them. They said: Be not afraid! (We are) two litigants, one of whom hath wronged the other, therefor judge aright between us; be not unjust; and show us the fair way.

جب گھس آئے داؤد کے پاس تو ان سے گھبرایا [۲۱] وہ بولے مت گھبرا ہم دو جھگڑتے ہیں زیادتی کی ہے ایک نے دوسرے پر سو فیصلہ کر دے ہم میں انصاف کا اور دور نہ ڈال بات کو اور بتلا دے ہم کو سیدھی راہ [۲۲]

إِنَّ هَٰذَآ أَخِى لَهُۥ تِسْعٌۭ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةًۭ وَلِىَ نَعْجَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِى فِى ٱلْخِطَابِ

Inna haazaaa akhee lahoo tis'unw wa tis'oona na'jatanw wa liya na'jatunw waahidah; faqaala akfilneeha wa 'azzanee filkhitaab

Lo! this my brother hath ninety and nine ewes while I had one ewe; and he said: Entrust it to me, and he conquered me in speech.

یہ جو ہے بھائی ہے میرا اس کے یہاں ہیں نِنّانوے دنبیاں اور میرے یہاں ہیں ایک دنبی پھر کہتا ہے حوالہ کر دے میرے وہ بھی اور زبردستی کرتا ہے مجھ سے بات میں [۲۳]

قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِۦ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبْغِى بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَقَلِيلٌۭ مَّا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّٰهُ فَٱسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًۭا وَأَنَابَ ۩

Qaala laqad zalamaka bisu 'aali na'jatika ilaa ni'aajihee wa inna kaseeram minal khulataaa'i la-yabghee ba'duhum 'alaa ba'din illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati wa qaleehum maa hum; wa zanna Daawoodu annamaa fatannaahu fastaghrara Rabbahoo wa kharra raaki'anw wa anaab

(David) said: He hath wronged thee in demanding thine ewe in addition to his ewes, and lo! many partners oppress one another, save such as believe and do good works, and they are few. And David guessed that We had tried him, and he sought forgiveness of his Lord, and he bowed himself and fell down prostrate and repented.

بولا وہ بے انصافی کرتا ہے تجھ پر کہ مانگتا ہے تیری دنبی ملانے کو اپنی دنبیوں میں [۲۴] اور اکثر شریک زیادتی کرتے ہیں ایک دوسرے پر مگر جو یقین لائے ہیں اور کام کئے نیک اور تھوڑے لوگ ہیں ایسے [۲۵] اور خیال میں آیا داؤد کے کہ ہم نے اس کو جانچا پھر گناہ بخشوانے لگا اپنے رب سے اور گر پڑا جھک کر اور رجوع ہوا

فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍۢ

Faghafarnaa lahoo zaalik; wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma aab

So We forgave him that; and lo! he had access to Our presence and a happy journey's end.

پھر ہم نے معاف کر دیا اسکو وہ کام [۲۶] اور اس کے لیے ہمارے پاس مرتبہ ہے اور اچھا ٹھکانہ [۲۷]

يَٰدَاوُۥدُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰكَ خَلِيفَةًۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Yaa Daawoodu innaa ja'alnaaka khaleefatan fil ardi fahkum bainan naasi bilhaqqi wa laa tattabi'il hawaa fayudillaka 'an sabeelil laah; innal lazeena yadilloona 'an sabeelil laah; lahum 'azaabun shadeedum bimaa nasoo Yawmal Hisaab

(And it was said unto him): O David! Lo! We have set thee as a viceroy in the earth; therefor judge aright between mankind, and follow not desire that it beguile thee from the way of Allah. Lo! those who wander from the way of Allah have an awful doom, forasmuch as they forgot the Day of Reckoning.

اے داؤد ہم نے کیا تجھ کو نائب ملک میں سو تو حکومت کر لوگوں میں انصاف سے اور نہ چل جی کی خواہش پر پھر وہ تجھ کو بچلا دے اللہ کی راہ سے مقرر جو لوگ بچلتے ہیں اللہ کی راہ سے ان کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے [۲۸] اسی بات پر کہ بھلایا انہوں نے دن حساب کا [۲۹]

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَٰطِلًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

Wa ma khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa baatilaa; zaalika zannul lazeena kafaroo; fawi lul lillazeena kafaroo minan Naar

And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire!

اور ہم نے نہیں بنایا آسمان اور زمین کو اور جو ان کے بیچ میں ہے نکما یہ خیال ہے ان کا جو منکر ہیں سو خرابی ہے منکروں کے لیے آگ سے [۳۰]

أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ كَٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلْفُجَّارِ

Am naj'alul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati kalmufisdeena fil ardi am naj'alul muttaqeena kalfujjaar

Shall We treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; or shall We treat the pious as the wicked?

کیا ہم کر دیں گے ایمان والوں کو جو کرتے ہیں نیکیاں برابر ان کے جو خرابی ڈالیں ملک میں کیا ہم کر دیں گے ڈرنے والوں کو برابر ڈھیٹھ لوگوں کے [۳۱]

كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَٰرَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika mubaarakul liyaddabbarooo Aayaatihee wa liyatazakkara ulul albaab

(This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect.

ایک کتاب ہے جو اتاری ہم نے تیری طرف برکت کی تا دھیان کریں لوگ اسکی باتیں اور تا سمجھیں عقل والے [۳۲]

وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُۥدَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ ۚ نِعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

Wa wahabnaa li Daawooda Sulaimaan; ni'mal 'abd; innahoo awwaab

And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah).

اور دیا ہم نے داؤد وکو سلیمان [۳۳] بہت خوب بندہ وہ ہے از رجوع رہنے والا

إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ ٱلصَّٰفِنَٰتُ ٱلْجِيَادُ

Iz 'urida 'alaihi bil'ashiy yis saafinaatul jiyaad

When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers

جب دکھانے کو لائے اسکے سامنے شام کو گھوڑے بہت خاصے

فَقَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ ٱلْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّى حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِٱلْحِجَابِ

Faqaala inneee ahbabtu hubbal khairi 'an zikri Rabbee hattaa tawaarat bilhijaab

And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain.

تو بولا میں نے دوست رکھا مال کی محبت کو اپنے رب کی یاد سے یہاں تک کہ سورج چھپ گیا اوٹ میں

رُدُّوهَا عَلَىَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًۢا بِٱلسُّوقِ وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِ

Ruddoohaa 'alaiya fatafiqa masham bissooqi wal a'naaq

(Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks.

پھیر لاؤ ان کو میرے پاس پھر لگا جھاڑنے انکی پنڈلیاں اور گردنیں [۳۴]

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًۭا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ

Wa laqad fatannaa Sulaimaana wa alqainaa 'alaa kursiyyihee jasadan summa anaab

And verily We tried Solomon, and set upon his throne a (mere) body. Then did he repent.

اور ہم نے جانچا سلیمان کو اور ڈال دیا اس کے تخت پر ایک دھڑ پھر وہ رجوع ہوا [۳۵]

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًۭا لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Qaala Rabbigh fir lee wa hab lee mulkal laa yambaghee li ahadim mim ba'de inaka Antal Wahhab

He said: My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower.

بولا اے رب میرے معاف کر مجھ کو اور بخش مجھ کو وہ بادشاہی کہ مناسب نہ ہو کسی کو میرے پیچھے بیشک تو ہے سب کچھ بخشنے والا [۳۶]

فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ ٱلرِّيحَ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦ رُخَآءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ

Fasakhkharnaa lahur reeha tajree bi amrihee rukhaaa'an haisu asaab

So We made the wind subservient unto him, setting fair by his command whithersoever he intended.

پھر ہم نے تابع کر دیا اسکے ہوا کو چلتی تھی اس کے حکم سے نرم نرم جہاں پہنچنا چاہتا

وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍۢ وَغَوَّاصٍۢ

Wash Shayaateena kulla bannaaa'inw wa ghawwaas

And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient),

اور تابع کر دیے شیطان سارے عمارت بنانے والے اور غوطہ لگانے والے [۳۷]

وَءَاخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِى ٱلْأَصْفَادِ

Wa aakhareena muqarraneena fil asfaad

And others linked together in chains,

بہت سے اور جو باہم جکڑے ہوئے ہیں بیڑیوں میں [۳۸]

هَٰذَا عَطَآؤُنَا فَٱمْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ

Haazaa 'ataaa'unaa famnun aw amsik bighairi hisaab

(Saying): This is Our gift, so bestow thou, or withhold, without reckoning.

یہ ہے بخشش ہماری اب تو احسان کریا رکھ چھوڑ کچھ حساب نہ ہوگا [۳۹]

وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍۢ

Wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma-aab

And lo! he hath favour with Us, and a happy journey's end.

اور س کا ہمارے یہاں مرتبہ ہے اور اچھا ٹھکانہ [۴۰]

وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَآ أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِنُصْبٍۢ وَعَذَابٍ

Wazkur 'abdanaaa Ayyoob; iz naada Rabbahooo annee massaniyash Shaitaanu binus binw wa 'azaab

And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment.

اور یاد کر ہمارے بندے ایوب کو جب اس نے پکارا اپنے رب کہ مجھ کو لگا دی شیطان نے ایذ اور تکلیف [۴۱]

ٱرْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌۢ بَارِدٌۭ وَشَرَابٌۭ

Urkud birijlika haaza mughtasalum baaridunw wa sharaab

(And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink.

لات مار اپنے پاؤں سے یہ چشمہ نکلا نہانے کو اور ٹھنڈا اور پینے کو

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

Wa wahabnaa lahoo ahlahoo wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatam minna wa zikraa li ulil albaab

And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding.

اور بخشے ہم نے اسکو اسکے گھر والے اور ان کے برابر ان کے ساتھ اپنی طرف کی مہربانی سے اور یاد رکھنے کو عقل والوں کے [۴۲]

وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًۭا فَٱضْرِب بِّهِۦ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَٰهُ صَابِرًۭا ۚ نِّعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌۭ

Wa khuz biyadika dighsan fadrib bihee wa laa tahnas, innaa wajadnaahu saabiraa; ni'mal 'abd; innahooo awwaab

And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord).

اور پکڑ اپنے ہاتھ میں سیلنکوں کا مٹھا پھر اس سے مار لے اور قسم میں جھوٹا نہ ہو [۴۳] ہم نے اس کو پایا جھیلنے والا بہت خوب بندہ تحقیق وہ ہے رجوع رہنے والا

وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

Wazkur 'ibaadanaaa Ibraaheema wa Is-haaqa wa Ya'qooba ulil-aydee walabsaar

And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision.

اور یاد کر ہمارے بندوں کو ابراہیم اور اسحٰق اور یعقوب ہاتھوں والے اور آنکھوں والے [۴۴]

إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٍۢ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ

Innaaa akhlasnaahum bi khaalisatin zikrad daar

Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter).

ہم نے امتیاز دیا انکو ایک چنی ہوئی بات کا وہ یاد اس گھر کی [۴۵]

وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

Wa innahum 'indanaa laminal mustafainal akhyaar

Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent.

اور وہ سب ہمارے نزدیک ہیں چنے ہوئے نیک لوگوں میں

وَٱذْكُرْ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

Wazkur Ismaa'eela wal Yasa'a wa Zal-Kifli wa kullum minal akhyaar

And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen.

اور یاد کر اسمٰعیل کو اور الیسع کو اور ذوالکفل کو اور ہر ایک تھا خوبی والا [۴۶]

هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍۢ

Haazaa zikr; wa inna lilmuttaqeena lahusna ma aab

This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end,

یہ ایک مذکور ہو چکا [۴۷] اور تحقیق ڈر والوں کے لیے ہے اچھا ٹھکانا

جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍۢ مُّفَتَّحَةًۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُ

Jannaati 'adnim mufat tahatal lahumul abwaab

Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them,

باغ ہیں سدا بسنے کے کھول رکھے ہیں انکے واسطے دروازے [۴۸]

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ وَشَرَابٍۢ

Muttaki'eena feehaa yad'oona feehaa bifaakihatin kaseeratinw wa sharaab

Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein.

تکیہ لگائے ہوئے بیٹھے ہیں ان میں میوے بہت اور شراب [۴۹]

۞ وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ

Wa 'indahum qaasiraatut tarfi atraab

And with them are those of modest gaze, companions.

اور ان کے پاس عورتیں ہیں نیچی نگاہ والیاں ایک عمر کی [۵۰]

هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Haaza maa too'odoona li Yawmil Hisaab

This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning.

یہ وہ ہے جو تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا حساب کے دن پر

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُۥ مِن نَّفَادٍ

Inna haazaa larizqunaa maa lahoo min nafaad

Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away.

یہ ہی روزی ہماری دی ہوئی اسکو نہیں نبڑنا [۵۱]

هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّٰغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَـَٔابٍۢ

Haazaa; wa inna littaagheena lasharra ma-aab

This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end,

یہ سن چکے [۵۲] اور تحقیق شریروں کے واسطے ہے برا ٹھکانہ

جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

Jahannama yaslawnahaa fai'sal mihaad

Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place.

دوزخ ہے جس میں انکو ڈالیں گے سو کیا بری آرام کرنے کی جگہ ہے

هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌۭ وَغَسَّاقٌۭ

Haazaa falyazooqoohu hameemunw wa ghassaaq

Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it,

یہ ہے اب اسکو چکھیں [۵۳] گرم پانی اور پیپ [۵۴]

وَءَاخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٌ

Wa aakharu min shak liheee azwaaj

And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)!

اور کچھ اور اسی شکل کی طرح طرح کی چیزیں

هَٰذَا فَوْجٌۭ مُّقْتَحِمٌۭ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا۟ ٱلنَّارِ

Haazaa fawjum muqtahimum ma'akum laa marhabam bihim; innahum saalun Naar

Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire.

یہ ایک فوج ہے دھستی آ رہی ہے تمہارے ساتھ جگہ نہ ملیو ان کو یہ ہیں گھسنے والے آگ میں

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ

Qaaloo bal antum laa marhabam bikum; antum qaddamtumoohu lanaa fabi'sal qaraar

They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight.

وہ بولے بلکہ تم ہی ہو کہ جگہ نہ ملیو تم کو تم ہی پیش لائے ہمارے یہ بلا سو کیا بری ٹھہرنے کی جگہ ہے [۵۵]

قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًۭا ضِعْفًۭا فِى ٱلنَّارِ

Qaaloo Rabbanaa man qaddama lanaa haaza fazidhu 'azaaban di'fan fin Naar

They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire!

وہ بولے اے رب ہمارے جو کوئی لایا ہمارے پیش یہ سو بڑھا دے اسکو دونا عذاب آگ میں [۵۶]

وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًۭا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ

Wa qaaloo ma lanaa laa naraa rijaalan kunnaa na'udduhum minal ashraar

And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked?

اور کہیں گے کیا ہوا کہ ہم نہیں دیکھتے ان مردوں کو کہ ہم ان کو شمار کرتے تھے برے لوگوں میں

أَتَّخَذْنَٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ

Attakhaznaahum sikh riyyan am zaaghat 'anhumul absaar

Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them?

کیا ہم نے انکو ٹھٹھے میں پکڑا تھا یا چوک گئیں ان سے ہماری آنکھیں [۵۷]

إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّۭ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ

Inna zaalika lahaqqun takhaasumu Ahlin Naar

Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire.

یہ بات ٹھیک ہونی ہے جھگڑا کرنا آپس میں دوزخیوں کا [۵۸]

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مُنذِرٌۭ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ

Qul innamaaa ana munzirunw wa maa min ilaahim illal laahul Waahidul Qahhaar

Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute,

تو کہہ میں تو یہی ہوں ڈر سنا دینے والا حاکم کوئی نہیں مگر اللہ اکیلا دباؤ والا

رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ

Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumal 'Azeezul Ghaffaar

Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Mighty, the Pardoning.

رب آسمانون کا اور زمین کا اور جو انکے بیچ میں زبردست بخشنے والا [۵۹]

قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظِيمٌ

Qul huwa naba'un 'azeem

Say: It is tremendous tidings

تو کہہ یہ ایک بڑی خبر ہے

أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ

Antum 'anhu mu'ridoon

Whence ye turn away!

کہ تم اس کو دھیان میں نہیں لاتے [۶۰]

مَا كَانَ لِىَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۭ بِٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ

Maa kaana liya min 'ilmim bilmala il a'laaa iz yakhtasimoon

I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed;

مجھ کو کچھ خبر نہ تھی او پر کی مجلس کی جب وہ آپس میں تکرار کرتے ہیں

إِن يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ إِلَّآ أَنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ

Iny-yoohaaa ilaiya illaaa annnamaaa ana nazeerum mubeen

It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner.

مجھ کو تو یہی حکم آتا ہے کہ اور کچھ نہیں میں تو ڈر سنا دینے والا ہوں کھول کر [۶۱]

إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًۭا مِّن طِينٍۢ

Iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa'ikati innee khaaliqum basharam min teen

When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire,

جب کہا تیرے رب نے فرشتوں کو میں بناتا ہوں ایک انسان مٹی کا [۶۲]

فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ

Fa-iza sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen

And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate,

پھر جب ٹھیک بنا چکوں اور پھونکوں اس میں ایک اپنی جان [۶۳] تو تم گرِ پڑو اسکے آگے سجدہ میں

فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ

Fasajadal malaaa'ikatu kulluhum ajma'oon

The angels fell down prostrate, every one,

پھر سجدہ کیا فرشتوں نے سب نے اکھٹے ہو کر

إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ ٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Illaaa Iblees; istakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen

Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers.

مگر ابلیس نے [۶۴] غرور کیا اور تھا وہ منکروں میں [۶۵]

قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ

Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa man'aka an tasjuda limaa khalaqtu biyadai; astakbarta am kunta min 'aaleen

He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted?

فرمایا اے ابلیس کس چیز نے روک دیا تجھ کو کہ سجدہ کرے اس کو جس کو میں نے بنایا اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے [۶۶] یہ تو نے غرور کیا یا تو بڑا تھا درجہ میں [۶۷]

قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍۢ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍۢ

Qaala ana khairum minah; khalaqtanee min naarinw wa khalaqtahoo min teen

He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay.

بولا میں بہتر ہوں اس سے مجھ کو بنایا تو نے آگ سے اور اس کو بنایا مٹی سے [۶۸]

قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌۭ

Qaala fakhruj minhaa fainnaka rajeem

He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast,

فرمایا تو تو نکل یہاں سے کہ تو مردود ہوا [۶۹]

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Wa inna 'alaika la'nateee ilaa Yawmid Deen

And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment.

اور تجھ پر میری پھٹکار ہے اس جزا کے دن تک [۷۰]

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised.

بولا اے رب مجھ کو ڈھیل دے جس دن تک کہ مردے جی اٹھیں [۷۱]

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ

Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen

He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved

فرمایا تو تجھ کو ڈھیل ہے

إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma'loom

Until the day of the time appointed.

اسی وقت کے دن تک جو معلوم ہے [۷۲]

قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Qaala fabi'izzatika la ughwiyannahum ajma'een

He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one,

بولا تو قسم ہے تیری عزت کی میں گمراہ کروں گا ان سب کو

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Illaa 'ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen

Save Thy single-minded slaves among them.

مگر جو بندے ہیں تیرے ان میں چنے ہوئے

قَالَ فَٱلْحَقُّ وَٱلْحَقَّ أَقُولُ

Qaala falhaqq, walhaqqa aqool

He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak,

فرمایا تو ٹھیک بات یہ ہے اور میں ٹھیک ہی کہتا ہوں [۷۳]

لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

La amla'annna Jahannama minka wa mimman tabi'aka minhum ajma'een

That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together.

مجھ کو بھرنا ہے دوزخ تجھ سے اور جو ان میں تیری راہ چلے ان سب سے

قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۢ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

Qul maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrinw wa maaa ana minal mutakallifeen

Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating.

تو کہہ میں مانگتا نہیں تم سے اس پر کچھ بدلا اور میں نہیں اپنے آپ کو بنانے والا

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen

Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples

یہ تو ایک فہمائش ہے سارے جہان والوں کو

وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُۥ بَعْدَ حِينٍۭ

Wa lata'lamunna naba ahoo ba'da heen

And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof.

اور معلوم کر لو گے اس کا احوال تھوڑی دیر کے پیچھے [۷۴]
