Ad-Dukhaan

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ حمٓ

Haa Meeem

Ha. Mim.

حٰمٓ۔

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ

Wal Kitaabil Mubeen

By the Scripture that maketh plain

قسم ہے اس کتاب واضح کی

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍۢ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ

Innaaa anzalnaahu fee lailatim mubaarakah; innaa kunnaa munzireen

Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night - Lo! We are ever warning -

ہم نے اسکو اتارا ایک برکت کی رات میں [۱] ہم ہیں کہہ سنانے والے [۲]

فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ

Feehaa yufraqu kullu amrin hakeem

Whereon every wise command is made clear

اسی میں جدا ہوتا ہے ہر کام جانچا ہوا

أَمْرًۭا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ

Amram min 'indinaaa; innaa kunnaa mursileen

As a command from Our presence - Lo! We are ever sending -

حکم ہو کر ہمارے پاس سے [۳] ہم ہیں بھیجنے والے [۴]

رَحْمَةًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Rahmatam mir rabbik; innahoo Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem

A mercy from thy Lord. Lo! He, even He is the Hearer, the Knower,

رحمت سے تیرے رب کی وہی ہے سننے جاننے والا [۵]

رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ

Rabbis samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa; in kuntum mooqineen

Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye would be sure.

رب آسمانوں کا اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ انکے بیچ میں ہے اگر تمکو یقین ہے [۶]

لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen

There is no Allah save Him. He quickeneth and giveth death; your Lord and Lord of your forefathers.

کسی کی بندگی نہیں سوائے اسکے جلاتا ہے اور مارتا ہے رب تمہارا اور رب تمہارے اگلے باپ دادوں کا [۷]

بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ يَلْعَبُونَ

Bal hum fee shakkiny yal'aboon

Nay, but they play in doubt.

کوئی نہیں وہ دھوکے میں ہیں کھیلتے [۸]

فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Fartaqib Yawma taatis samaaa'u bidukhaanim mubeen

But watch thou (O Muhammad) for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke

سو تو انتظار کر اس دن کا کہ لائے آسمان دھواں صریح

يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Yaghshan naasa haazaa 'azaabun aleem

That will envelop the people. This will be a painful torment.

جو گھیر لیوے لوگوں کو یہ ہے عذاب دردناک [۹]

رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ

Rabbanak shif 'annal 'azaaba innaa mu'minoon

(Then they will say): Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers.

اے رب کھولدے ہم پر سے یہ عذاب ہم یقین لاتے ہیں [۱۰]

أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Annaa lahumuz zikraa wa qad jaaa'ahum Rasoolum mubeen

How can there be remembrance for them, when a messenger making plain (the Truth) had already come unto them,

کہاں ملے اُنکو سمجھنا اور آچکا اُنکے پاس رسول کھول کر سنانے والا

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌۭ مَّجْنُونٌ

Summaa tawallaw 'anhu wa qaaloo mu'allamum majnoon

And they had turned away from him and said: One taught (by others), a madman?

پھر اس سے پیٹھ پھیری اور کہنے لگے سکھایا ہوا ہے باؤلا [۱۱]

إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ

Innaa kaashiful 'azaabi qaleelaa; innakum 'aaa'indoon

Lo! We withdraw the torment a little. Lo! ye return (to disbelief).

ہم کھولے دیتےہیں یہ عذاب تھوڑی مدت تک تم پھر وہی کرو گے [۱۲]

يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ

Yawma nabtishul batsha tal kubraa innaa muntaqimoon

On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure, (then) in truth We shall punish.

جس دن پکڑیں گے ہم بڑی پکڑ تحقیق ہم بدلا لینے والے ہیں [۱۳]

۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ كَرِيمٌ

Wa laqad fatannaa qablahum qawma Fir'awna wa jaaa'ahum Rasoolun kareem

And verily We tried before them Pharaoh's folk, when there came unto them a noble messenger,

اور جانچ چکے ہیں ہم ان سے پہلے فرعون کی قوم کو اور آیا ان کے پاس رسول عزت والا [۱۴]

أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

An addooo ilaiya 'ibaadal laahi innee lakum Rasoolun ameen

Saying: Give up to me the slaves of Allah. Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you.

کہ حوالے کرو میرے بندے خدا کے [۱۵] میں تمہارے پاس آیا ہوں بھیجا ہوا معتبر

وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Wa al laa ta'loo 'alal laahi innee aateekum bisultaanim mubeen

And saying: Be not proud against Allah. Lo! I bring you a clear warrant.

اور یہ کہ چڑھے نہ جاؤ اللہ کے مقابل میں لاتا ہوں تمہارے پاس سند کھلی ہوئی [۱۶]

وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ

Wa innee 'uztu bi Rabbee wa rabbikum an tarjumoon

And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death.

اور میں پناہ لے چکا ہوں اپنے رب اور تمہارے رب کی اس بات سے کہ تم مجھ کو سنگسار کرو [۱۷]

وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ

Wa il lam tu'minoo lee fa'taziloon

And if ye put no faith in me, then let me go.

اور اگر تم نہیں یقین کرتے مجھ پر تو مجھ سے پرے ہو جاؤ [۱۸]

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌۭ مُّجْرِمُونَ

Fada'aa rabbahooo anna haaa'ulaaa'i qawmum mujrimoon

And he cried unto his Lord, (saying): These are guilty folk.

پھر دعا کی اپنے رب سے کہ یہ لوگ گنہگار ہیں

فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ

Fa asri bi'ibaadee lailan innakum muttaba'oon

Then (his Lord commanded): Take away My slaves by night. Lo! ye will be followed,

پھر لے نکل رات سے میرے بندوں کو البتہ تمہارا پیچھا کریں گے [۱۹]

وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّغْرَقُونَ

Watrukil bahra rahwan innahum jundum mughraqoon

And leave the sea behind at rest, for lo! they are a drowned host.

اور چھوڑ جا دریا کو تھما ہوا البتہ وہ لشکر ڈوبنے والے ہیں [۲۰]

كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

Kam tarakoo min jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

How many were the gardens and the watersprings that they left behind,

بہت سے چھوڑ گئے باغ اور چشمے

وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ

Wa zuroo'inw wa maqaa min kareem

And the cornlands and the goodly sites

اور کھیتیں اور گھر خاصے

وَنَعْمَةٍۢ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ

Wa na'matin kaanoo feehaa faakiheen

And pleasant things wherein they took delight!

اور آرام کا سامان جس میں باتیں بنایا کرتے تھے

كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa qawman aakhareen

Even so (it was), and We made it an inheritance for other folk;

یونہی ہوا اور وہ سب ہاتھ لگا دیا ہم نے ایک دوسری قوم کے [۲۱]

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ

Famaa bakat 'alaihimus samaaa'u wal ardu wa maa kaanoo munzareen

And the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.

پھر نہ رویا ان پر آسمان اور زمین [۲۲] اور نہ ملی انکو ڈھیل

وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ

Wa laqad najjainaa Baneee Israaa'eela minal'azaabil muheen

And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom;

اور ہم نے بچا نکالا بنی اسرائیل کو ذلت کی مصیبت سے

مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

Min Fir'awn; innahoo kaana 'aaliyam minal musrifeen

(We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones.

جو فرعون کی طرف سے تھی [۲۳] بیشک وہ تھا چڑھ رہا حد سے بڑھ جانے والا [۲۴]

وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa laqadikh tarnaahum 'alaa 'ilmin 'alal 'aalameen

And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures.

اور اُنکو ہم نے پسند کیا جان بوجھ کر جہان کے لوگوں سے [۲۵]

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌۭا۟ مُّبِينٌ

Wa aatainaahum minal aayaati maa feehi balaaa'um mubeen

And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial.

اور دیں ہم نے انکو نشانیاں جن میں تھی مدد صریح [۲۶]

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ

Inna haaa'ulaaa'i la yaqooloon

Lo! these, forsooth, are saying:

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں

إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ

In hiya illaa mawtatunal oolaa wa maa nahnu bimun shareen

There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again.

اور کچھ نہیں ہمارا یہی مرنا ہے پہلا اور ہمکو پھر اٹھنا نہیں [۲۷]

فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Faatoo bi aabaaa'inaaa inkuntum saadiqeen

Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth!

بھلا لے تو آؤ ہمارے باپ دادوں کو اگر تم سچے ہو [۲۸]

أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ

Ahum khayrun am qawmu Tubba'inw wallazeena min qablihim; ahlaknaahum innahum kaanoo mujrimeen

Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty.

بھلا یہ بہتر ہیں یا تُبّع کی قوم [۲۹] اور جو اُن سے پہلے تھے ہم نے اُنکو غارت کر دیا بیشک وہ تھے گنہگار [۳۰]

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa baina humaa laa'ibeen

And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play.

اور ہم نے جو بنایا آسمان اور زمین اور جو اُنکے بیچ ہے کھیل نہیں بنایا

مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Maa khalaqnaahumaaa illaa bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not.

اُنکو تو بنایا ہم نے ٹھیک کام پر بہت لوگ نہیں سمجھتے [۳۱]

إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Inna yawmal fasli meeqaatuhum ajma'een

Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them,

تحقیق فیصلہ کا دن وعدہ ہے اُن سب کا [۳۲]

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًۭى شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

Yawma laa yughnee mawlan 'am mawlan shai'anw wa laa hum yunsaroon

A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped,

جس دن کام نہ آئے کوئی رفیق کسی رفیق کے کچھ بھی اور نہ اُنکو مدد پہنچے [۳۳]

إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Illaa mar rahimal laah' innahoo huwal 'azeezur raheem

Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful.

مگر جس پر رحم کرے اللہ بیشک وہی ہے زبردست رحم والا [۳۴]

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ

Inna shajarataz zaqqoom

Lo! the tree of Zaqqum,

مقرر درخت سیہنڈ کا

طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ

Ta'aamul aseem

The food of the sinner!

کھانا ہے گنہگار کا [۳۵]

كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ

Kalmuhli yaghlee filbutoon

Like molten brass, it seetheth in their bellies

جیسے پگھلا ہوا تانبا کھولتا ہے پیٹوں میں

كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ

Kaghalyil hameem

As the seething of boiling water.

جیسے کھولتا ہوا پانی

خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Khuzoohu fa'tiloohu ilaa sawaaa'il Jaheem

(And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell,

پکڑو اسکو اور دھکیل کر لیجاؤ بیچوں بیچ دوزخ کے [۳۶]

ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ

Summa subboo fawqa raasihee min 'azaabil hameem

Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water.

پھر ڈالو اُسکے سر پر جلتے پانی کا عذاب [۳۷]

ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ

Zuq innaka antal 'azeezul kareem

(Saying): Taste! Lo! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble!

یہ چکھ تو ہی ہے بڑا عزت والا سردار [۳۸]

إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ

Inna haazaa maa kuntum bihee tamtaroon

Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt.

یہ وہی ہے جس میں تم دھوکے میں پڑے تھے [۳۹]

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍۢ

Innal muttaqeena fee maqaamin ameen

Lo! those who kept their duty will be in a place secured.

بیشک ڈرنے والے گھر میں ہیں چین کے [۴۰]

فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

Fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

Amid gardens and watersprings,

باغوں میں اور چشموں میں

يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍۢ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

Yalbasoona min sundusinw wa istbraqim mutaqaabileen

Attired in silk and silk embroidery, facing one another.

پہنتے ہیں پوشاک ریشمی پتلی اور گاڑھی ایک دوسرے کے سامنے [۴۱]

كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ

Kazaalika wa zawwajnaahum bihoorin 'een

Even so (it will be). And We shall wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.

اسی طرح ہو گا اور بیاہ دیں گے ہم اُنکو حوریں بڑی آنکھوں والیاں [۴۲]

يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ

Yad'oona feehaa bikulli faakihatin aamineen

They call therein for every fruit in safety.

منگوائیں گے وہاں ہر میوہ دل جمعی سے [۴۳]

لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Laa yazooqoona feehal mawtaa illal mawtatal oolaa wa qaqaahum 'azaabal jaheem

They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell,

نہ چکھیں گے وہاں موت مگر جو پہلے آچکی [۴۴] اور بچایا انکو دوزخ کے عذاب سے

فَضْلًۭا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Fadlam mir rabbik; zaalika huwal fawzul 'azeem

A bounty from thy Lord. That is the supreme triumph.

فضل سے تیرے رب کے یہی ہے بڑی مراد ملنی [۴۵]

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

Fa innamaa yassarnaahu bilisaanika la'allahum yatazakkaroon

And We have made (this Scripture) easy in thy language only that they may heed.

سو یہ قرآن آسان کیا ہم نے اسکو تیری بولی میں تاکہ وہ یاد رکھیں [۴۶]

فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ

Fartaqib innahum murta qiboon

Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting.

اب تو راہ دیکھ وہ بھی راہ تکتے ہیں [۴۷]
