Adh-Dhaariyat

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلذَّٰرِيَٰتِ ذَرْوًۭا

Waz-zaariyaati zarwaa

By those that winnow with a winnowing

قسم ہے اُن ہواؤں کی جو بکھیرتی ہیں اڑا کر

فَٱلْحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقْرًۭا

Falhaamilaati wiqraa

And those that bear the burden (of the rain)

پھر اٹھانے والیاں بوجھ کو

فَٱلْجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسْرًۭا

Faljaariyaati yusraa

And those that glide with ease (upon the sea)

پھر چلنے والیاں نرمی سے

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمْرًا

Falmuqassimaati amraa

And those who distribute (blessings) by command,

پھر بانٹنے والیاں حکم سے [۱]

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌۭ

Innamaa too'adoona la-saadiq

Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true,

بیشک جو وعدہ کیا ہے تم سے سچ ہے

وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ

Wa innad deena la waaqi'

And lo! the judgment will indeed befall.

اور بیشک انصاف ہونا ضرور ہے [۲]

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ

Wassamaaa'i zaatil hubuk

By the heaven full of paths,

قسم ہے آسمان جالدار (جالیدار) کی [۳]

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍۢ مُّخْتَلِفٍۢ

Innakum lafee qawlim mukhtalif

Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth).

تم پڑ رہے ہو ایک جھگڑے کی بات میں

يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ

Yu'faku 'anhu man ufik

He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse.

آُس سے باز رہے وہی جو پھیرا گیا [۴]

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ

Qutilal kharraasoon

Accursed be the conjecturers

مارے پڑے اٹکل دوڑانے والے [۵]

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ سَاهُونَ

Allazeena hum fee ghamratin saahoon

Who are careless in an abyss!

وہ جو غفلت میں ہیں بھول رہے [۶]

يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

Yas'aloona ayyaana yawmud Deen

They ask: When is the Day of Judgment?

پوچھتے ہیں کب ہے دن انصاف کا [۷]

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ

Yawma hum 'alan naari yuftanoon

(It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire,

جس دن وہ آگ پر الٹے سیدھے پڑیں گے

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Zooqoo fitnatakum haa zal lazee kuntum bihee tas ta'jiloon

(And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten.

چکھو مزا اپنی شرارت کا یہ ہے جس کی تم جلدی کرتے تھے [۸]

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ

Innal muttaqeena fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings,

البتہ ڈرنے والے باغوں میں ہیں اور چشموں میں

ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ

Aakhizeena maaa aataahum Rabbuhum; innahum kaanoo qabla zaalika muhsineen

Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good;

لیتے ہیں جو دیا اُنکو اُنکے رب نے [۹] وہ تھے اس سے پہلے نیکی والے [۱۰]

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ

kaanoo qaleelam minal laili maa yahja'oon

They used to sleep but little of the night,

وہ تھے رات کو تھوڑا سوتے

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ

Wa bilashaari hum yastaghfiroon

And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness,

اور صبح کے وقتوں میں معافی مانگنے والے [۱۱]

وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

Wa feee amwaalihim haqqul lissaaa'ili walmahroom

And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share.

اور اُنکے مال میں حصہ تھا مانگنے والوں کا اور ہارے ہوئے کا [۱۲]

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ

Wa fil ardi aayaatul lilmooqineen

And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure.

اور زمین میں نشانیاں ہیں یقین لانے والوں کے واسطے

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ

Wa feee anfusikum; afalaa tubsiroon

And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see?

اور خود تمہارے اندر سو کیا تم کو سوجھتا نہیں [۱۳]

وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ

Wa fissamaaa'i rizqukum wa maa too'adoon

And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised;

اور آسمان میں ہے روزی تمہاری اور جو تم سے وعدہ کیا گیا [۱۴]

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ

Fawa Rabbis samaaa'i wal ardi innahoo lahaqqum misla maa annakum tantiqoon

And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak.

سو قسم ہے رب آسمان اور زمین کی کہ یہ بات تحقیق ہے جیسے کہ تم بولتے ہو [۱۵]

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ

Hal ataaka hadeesu daifi Ibraaheemal mukrameen

Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)?

کیا پہنچی ہے تجھ کو بات ابراہیم کے مہمانوں کی جو عزت والے تھے [۱۶]

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا ۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٌۭ قَوْمٌۭ مُّنكَرُونَ

Iz dakhaloo 'alaihi faqaaloo salaaman qaala salaamun qawmum munkaroon

When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me).

جب اندر پہنچے اُسکے پاس تو بولے سلام وہ بولا سلام ہے یہ لوگ ہیں اوپرے [۱۷]

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍۢ سَمِينٍۢ

Faraagha ilaaa ahlihee fajaaa'a bi'ijlin sameen

Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf;

پھر دوڑا اپنے گھر کو تو لے آیا ایک بچھڑا گھی میں تلا ہوا

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ

Faqarrabahooo ilaihim qaala alaa taakuloon

And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat?

پھر اُنکے سامنے رکھا کہا کیوں تم کھاتے نہیں [۱۸]

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةًۭ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ

Fa awjasa minhm khee fatan qaaloo laa takhaf wa bashsharoohu bighulaamin 'aleem

Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son.

پھر جی میں گھبرایا اُن کے ڈر سے بولے تو مت ڈر اور خوشخبری دی اُسکو ایک لڑکے ہوشیار کی [۱۹]

فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍۢ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌۭ

Fa aqbalatim ra-atuhoo fee sarratin fasakkat wajhahaa wa qaalat 'ajoozun 'aqeem

Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman!

پھر سامنے سے آئی اسکی عورت بولتی ہوئی پھر پیٹا اپنا ماتھا اور کہنے لگی کہیں بڑھیا بانجھ [۲۰]

قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Qaaloo kazaaliki qaala Rabbuki innahoo huwal hakeemul 'aleem

They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower.

وہ بولے یوں ہی کہا تیرے رب نے وہ جو ہے وہی ہے حکمت والا خبردار [۲۱]

۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

Qaala famaa khatbukum ayyuhal mursaloon

(Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)?

بولا پھر کیا مطلب ہے تمہارا اے بھیجے ہوؤ [۲۲]

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ مُّجْرِمِينَ

Qaalooo innaaa ursilnaaa ilaa qawmim mujrimeen

They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk,

وہ بولے ہم کو بھیجا ہے ایک گنہگار قوم پر

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن طِينٍۢ

Linursila 'alaihim hijaa ratam min teen

That we may send upon them stones of clay,

کہ چھوڑیں ہم اُن پر پتھر مٹی کے [۲۳]

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ

Musawwamatan 'inda rabbika lilmusrifeen

Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton.

نشان پڑے ہوئے تیرے رب کے یہاں سے حد سے نکل چلنے والوں کے لئے [۲۴]

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Fa akhrajnaa man kaana feehaa minal mu'mineen

Then we brought forth such believers as were there.

پھر بچا نکالا ہم نے جو تھا وہاں ایمان والا

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ

Famaa wajadnaa feehaa ghaira baitim minal muslimeen

But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah).

پھر نہ پایا ہم نے اس جگہ سوائے ایک گھر کے مسلمانوں سے [۲۵]

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ

Wa taraknaa feehaaa aayatal lillazeena yakhaafoonal 'azaabal aleem

And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom.

اور باقی رکھا ہم نے اُس میں نشان اُن لوگوں کے لئے جو ڈرتے ہیں عذاب دردناک سے [۲۶]

وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Wa fee Moosaaa iz arsalnaahu ilaa Fir'wna bisultaa nim mubeen

And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant,

اور نشانی ہے موسٰی کے حال میں جب بیجھا ہم نے اُسکو فرعون کے پاس دے کر کھلی سند [۲۷]

فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌۭ

Fatawalla biruknihee wa qaala saahirun aw majnoon

But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman.

پھر اُس نے منہ موڑ لیا اپنے زور پر اور بولا یہ جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ [۲۸]

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ

Fa akhaznaahu wa junoo dahoo fanabaznaahum fil yammi wa huwa muleem

So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate.

پھر پکڑا ہم نے اُسکو اور اُسکے لشکروں کو پھر پھینک دیا اُنکو دریا میں اور اُس پر لگا الزام [۲۹]

وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ

Wa fee 'Aadin iz arsalnaa 'alaihimur reehal'aqeem

And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them.

اور نشانی ہے عاد میں جب بھیجی ہم نے اُن پر ہوا خیر سے خالی

مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ

Maa tazaru min shai'in atat 'alaihi illaa ja'alat hu karrameem

It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust.

نہیں چھوڑتی کسی چیز کو جس پر گذرے کہ نہ کر ڈالے اسکو جیسے چورا [۳۰]

وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ

Wa fee Samooda iz qeela lahum tamatta''oo hattaa heen

And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile.

اور نشانی ہے ثمود میں جب کہا اُنکو برت لو ایک وقت تک [۳۱]

فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

Fa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim fa akhazal humus saa'iqatu wa hum yanzuroon

But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed;

پھر شرارت کرنے لگے اپنے رب کے حکم سے پھر پکڑا اُنکو کڑک نے اور وہ دیکھتے تھے

فَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍۢ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ

Famas tataa'oo min qiyaaminw wa maa kaanoo muntasireen

And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves.

پھر نہ ہو سکا اُن سے کہ اٹھیں اور نہ ہوئے کہ بدلا لیں [۳۲]

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَٰسِقِينَ

Wa qawma Noohim min qablu innahum kaano qawman faasiqeen

And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk.

اور ہلاک کیا نوح کی قوم کو اس سے پہلے تحقیق وہ تھے لوگ نافرمان [۳۳]

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ

Wassamaaa'a banainaa haa bi aydinw wa innaa lamoosi'oon

We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent (thereof).

اور بنایا ہم نے آسمان ہاتھ کے بل سے اور ہم کو سب مقدور ہے [۳۴]

وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَٰهِدُونَ

Wal arda farashnaahaa fani'mal maahidoon

And the earth have We laid out, how gracious is the Spreader (thereof)!

اور زمین کو بچھایا ہم نے سو کیا خوب بچھانا جانتے ہیں ہم [۳۵]

وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Wa min kulli shai'in khalaqnaa zawjaini la'allakum tazakkaroon

And all things We have created by pairs, that haply ye may reflect.

اور ہر چیز کے بنائے ہم نے جوڑے تاکہ تم دھیان کرو [۳۶]

فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Fafirrooo ilal laahi innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen

Therefor flee unto Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from him.

سو بھاگو اللہ کی طرف میں تم کو اُسکی طرف سے ڈر سناتا ہوں کھول کر

وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Wa laa taj'aloo ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen

And set not any other god along with Allah; lo! I am a plain warner unto you from Him.

اور مٹ ٹھہراؤ اللہ کے ساتھ اور کسی کو معبود میں تم کو اُسکی طرف سے ڈر سناتا ہوں کھول کر [۳۷]

كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ

Kazaalika maaa atal lazeena min qablihim mir Rasoolin illaa qaaloo saahirun aw majnoon

Even so there came no messenger unto those before them but they said: A wizard or a madman!

اسی طرح ان سے پہلے لوگوں کے پاس جو رسول آیا اُس کو یہی کہا کہ جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ [۳۸]

أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ

Atawaasaw bih; bal hum qawmun taaghoon

Have they handed down (the saying) as an heirloom one unto another? Nay, but they are froward folk.

کیا یہی وصیت کر مرےہیں ایک دوسرے کو کوئی نہیں پر یہ لوگ شریر ہیں [۳۹]

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍۢ

Fatawalla 'anhum famaaa anta bimaloom

So withdraw from them (O Muhammad), for thou art in no wise blameworthy,

سو تو لوٹ آنکی طرف سے اب تجھ پر نہیں ہے الزام

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa zakkir fa innaz zikraa tanfa'ul mu'mineen

And warn, for warning profiteth believers.

اور سمجھاتا رہ کہ سمجھانا کام آتا ہے ایمان والوں کو [۴۰]

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

Wa maa khalaqtul jinna wal insa illaa liya'budoon

I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me.

اور میں نے جو بنائے جن اور آدمی سو اپنی بندگی کو [۴۱]

مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍۢ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ

Maaa ureedu minhum mir rizqinw wa maaa ureedu anyyut'imoon

I seek no livelihood from them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me.

میں نہیں چاہتا اُن سے روزینہ اور نہیں چاہتا کہ مجھ کو کھلائیں

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ

Innal laaha Huwar Razzaaqu Zul Quwwatil Mateen

Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might.

اللہ جو ہے وہی ہے روزی دینے والا زور آور مضبوط [۴۲]

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًۭا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

Fa inna lillazeena zalamoo zanoobam misla zanoobi ashaabihim falaa yasta'jiloon

And lo! for those who (now) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on (that day).

سو ان گنہگاروں کا بھی ڈول بھر چکا ہے جیسے ڈول بھرا اُنکے ساتھیوں کا اب مجھ سے جلدی نہ کریں [۴۳]

فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ

Fawailul lillazeena kafaroo miny yawmihimul lazee yoo'adoon

And woe unto those who disbelieve, from (that) their day which they are promised.

سو خرابی ہے منکروں کو اُنکے اس دن سے جس کا اُن سے وعدہ ہو چکا ہے [۴۴]
