At-Tur

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلطُّورِ

Wat-Toor

By the Mount,

قسم ہے طور کی [۱]

وَكِتَٰبٍۢ مَّسْطُورٍۢ

Wa kitaabim mastoor

And a Scripture inscribed

اور لکھی ہوئی کتاب کی

فِى رَقٍّۢ مَّنشُورٍۢ

Fee raqqim manshoor

On fine parchment unrolled,

کشادہ ورق میں [۲]

وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ

Wal baitil ma'moor

And the House frequented,

اور آباد گھر کی [۳]

وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ

Wassaqfil marfoo'

And the roof exalted,

اور اونچی چھت کی [۴]

وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ

Wal bahril masjoor

And the sea kept filled,

اور اُبلتے ہوئے دریا کی [۵]

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ

Inna 'azaaba Rabbika lawaaqi'

Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass;

بیشک عذاب تیرے رب کا ہو کر رہے گا

مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍۢ

Maa lahoo min daafi'

There is none that can ward it off.

اُسکو کوئی نہیں ہٹانے والا [۶]

يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًۭا

Yawma tamoorus samaaa'u mawraa

On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving,

جس دن لرزے آسمان کپکپا کر [۷]

وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًۭا

Wa taseerul jibaalu sairaa

And the mountains move away with (awful) movement,

اور پھریں پہاڑ چل کر [۸]

فَوَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Fawailuny yawma 'izil lil mukaazzibeen

Then woe that day unto the deniers

سو خرابی ہے اُس دن جھٹلانے والوں کو

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍۢ يَلْعَبُونَ

Allazeena hum fee khawdiny yal'aboon

Who play in talk of grave matters;

جو باتیں بناتے ہیں کھیلتے ہوئے [۹]

يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا

Yawma yuda'-'oona ilaa naari jahannama da'-'aa

The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell

جس دن کہ دھکیلے جائیں دوزخ کی طرف دھکیل کر

هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ

Haazihin naarul latee kuntum bihaa tukazziboon

(And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny.

یہ ہے وہ آگ جسکو تم جھوت جانتے تھے [۱۰]

أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ

Afasihrun haazaaaa am antum laa tubsiroon

Is this magic, or do ye not see?

اب بھلا یہ جادو ہے یا تم کو نہیں سوجھتا [۱۱]

ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Islawhaa fasbirooo aw laa tasbiroo sawaaa'un 'alaikum innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta'maloon

Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do.

چلے جاؤ اسکے اندر پھر تم صبر کرو یا نہ صبر کرو تم کو برابر ہے وہی بدلا پاؤ گے جو کچھ تم کرتے تھے [۱۲]

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَنَعِيمٍۢ

Innal muttaqeena fee jannaatinw wa na'eem

Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight,

جو ڈرنے والے ہیں وہ باغوں میں ہے اور نعمت میں

فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Faakiheena bimaaa aataahum rabbuhum wa waqaahum rabbuhum 'azaabal jaheem

Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire.

میوے کھاتے ہوئے جو اُنکو دیے اُنکے رب نے اور بچایا اُنکے رب نے دوزخ کے عذاب سے [۱۳]

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Kuloo washraboo haneee 'am bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

(And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do,

کھاؤ اور پیو رچتا ہوا بدلا اُن کاموں کا جو تم کرتے تھے

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّصْفُوفَةٍۢ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ

Muttaki'eena 'alaa sururim masfoofatinw wa zawwaj naahum bihoorin 'een

Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.

تکیہ لگائے بیٹھے تختوں پر برابر بچھے ہوئے قطار باندھ کر [۱۴] اور بیاہ دیں ہم اُنکو حوریں بڑی آنکھوں والیاں

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌۭ

Wallazeena aamanoo wattaba'at hum zurriyyatuhum bieemaanin alhaqnaa bihim zurriyyatahum wa maaa alatnaahum min 'amalihim min shai'; kullum ri'im bimaa kasaba raheen

And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned.

اور جو لوگ یقین لائے اور اُنکی راہ پر چلی اُنکی اولاد ایمان سے پہنچا دیا ہم نے اُن تک اُنکی اولاد کو اور گھٹایا نہیں ہم نے اُن سے ان کا کیا ذرا بھی [۱۵] ہر آدمی اپنی کمائی میں پھنسا ہے [۱۶]

وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٍۢ وَلَحْمٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

Wa amdadnaahum bifaa kihatinw wa lahmim mimmaa yashtahoon

And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire.

اور تار لگا دیا ہم نے اُن پر میووں کا اور گوشت کا جس چیز کو جی چاہے [۱۷]

يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا لَّا لَغْوٌۭ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌۭ

Yatanaaza'oona feehaa kaasal laa laghwun feehaa wa laa taaseem

There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin.

جھپٹتے ہیں وہاں پیالا نہ بکنا ہے اُس شراب میں اور نہ گناہ میں ڈالنا [۱۸]

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌۭ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ

Wa yatoofu 'alaihim ghilmaanul lahum ka annahum lu'lu'um maknoon

And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls.

اور پھرتے ہیں اُنکے پاس چھوکرے اُنکے گویا وہ موتی ہیں اپنے غلاف کے اندر [۱۹]

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Wa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'diny yatasaaa'aloon

And some of them draw near unto others, questioning,

اور منہ کیا بعضوں نے دوسروں کی طرف آپس میں پوچھتے ہوئے

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ

Qaalooo innaa kunnaa qablu feee ahlinaa mushfiqeen

Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious;

بولے ہم بھی تھے اس سے پہلے اپنے گھروں میں ڈرتے رہتے

فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ

Famannnal laahu 'alainaa wa waqaanaa 'azaabas samoom

But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire.

پھر احسان کیا اللہ نے ہم پر اور بچا دیا ہم کو لوُ کے عذاب سے

إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Innaa kunnaa min qablu nad'oohu innahoo huwal barrur raheem

Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful.

ہم پہلےسے پکارتے تھے اُسکو بیشک وہی ہے نیک سلوک والا مہربان [۲۰]

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍۢ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ

Fazakkir famaaa anta bini'mati rabbika bikaahininw wa laa majnoon

Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman.

اب تو سمجھا دے کہ تو اپنے رب کے فضل سےنہ جنوں سےخبر لینے والا ہے اور نہ دیوانہ [۲۱]

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌۭ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ

Am yaqooloona shaa'irun natarabbasu bihee raibal manoon

Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time?

کیا کہتےہیں یہ شاعر ہے ہم منتظر ہیں اُس پر گردش زمانہ کے [۲۲]

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ

Qul tarabbasoo fa innee ma'akum minal mutarabbiseen

Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant.

تو کہہ تم منتظر رہو کہ میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ منتظر ہوں [۲۳]

أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ

Am taamuruhum ahlaamuhum bihaazaaa am hum qawmun taaghoon

Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk?

کیا اُنکی عقلیں یہی سکھلاتی ہیں اُنکو یا یہ لوگ شرارت پر ہیں [۲۴]

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Am yaqooloona taqawwalah; bal laa yu'minoon

Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe!

یا کہتے ہیں یہ قرآن خود بنا لایا ہے کوئی نہیں پر وہ یقین نہیں کرتے

فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ

Falyaatoo bihadeesim misliheee in kaanoo saadiqeen

Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful.

پھر چاہئے کہ لے آئیں کوئی بات اسی طرح کی اگر وہ سچے ہیں [۲۵]

أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ

Am khuliqoo min ghairi shai'in am humul khaaliqoon

Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators?

کیا وہ بن گئے ہیں آپ ہی آپ یا وہی ہیں بنانے والے

أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ

Am khalaqus samaawaati wal ard; bal laa yooqinoon

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing!

یا انہوں نے بنایا ہے آسمانوں کو اور زمین کو کوئی نہیں پر وہ یقین نہیں کرتے [۲۶]

أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ

Am'indahum khazaaa'inu rabbika am humul musaitiroon

Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)?

کیا اُنکے پاس ہیں خزانے تیرے رب کے یا وہی داروغہ ہیں [۲۷]

أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌۭ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍ

Am lahum sullamuny yastami'oona feehi falyaati mustami'uhum bisultaanim mubeen

Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest!

کیا اُنکے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس پر سُن آتے ہیں تو چاہیے کہ لے آئے جو سنتا ہے اُن میں ایک سند کھلی ہوئی [۲۸]

أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ

Am lahul banaatu wa lakumul banoon

Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons?

کیا اُسکے یہاں بیٹیاں ہیں اور تمہارے لئے بیٹے [۲۹]

أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًۭا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍۢ مُّثْقَلُونَ

Am tas'aluhum ajran fahum mim maghramim musqaloon

Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt?

کیا تو مانگتا ہے اُن سے کچھ بدلا سو ان پر تاوان کا بوجھ ہے [۳۰]

أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ

Am 'indahumul ghaibu fahum yaktuboon

Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down?

کیا انکو خبر ہے بھید کی سو وہ لکھ رکھتے ہیں [۳۱]

أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ

Am yureedoona kaidan fallazeena kafaroo humul makeedoon

Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared!

کیا چاہتےہیں کہ کچھ داؤ کرنا سو جو منکر ہیں وہی آتے ہیں داؤ میں [۳۲]

أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Am lahum ilaahun ghairul laa; subhaanal laahi 'ammaa yushrikoon

Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

کیا اُن کا کوئی حاکم ہے اللہ کے سوائے وہ اللہ پاک ہے اُنکے شریک بنانے سے [۳۳]

وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًۭا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌۭ مَّرْكُومٌۭ

Wa iny yaraw kisfam minas samaaa'i saaqitany yaqooloo sahaabum markoom

And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds.

اور اگر دیکھیں ایک تختہ آسمان سے گرتا ہوا کہیں یہ بادل ہے گاڑھا [۳۴]

فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ

Fazarhum hatta yulaaqoo yawmahumul lazee feehi yus'aqoon

Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken,

سو تو چھوڑ دے اُنکو یہاں تک کہ دیکھ لیں اپنے اُس دن کو جس میں اُن پر پڑے گی بجلی کی کڑک

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

Yawma laa yughnee 'anhum kaidumhum shai'anw wa laa hum yunsaroon

A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped.

جس دن کام نہ آئے گا اُنکو اُن کا داؤ ذرا بھی اور نہ اُنکو مدد پہنچے گی [۳۵]

وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Wa inna lillazeena zalamoo 'azaaban doona zalika wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not.

اور اِن گنہگاروں کے لئے ایک عذاب ہے اُس سے ورے پر بہت اُن میں کے نہیں جانتے [۳۶]

وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ

Wasbir lihukmi rabbika fa innaka bi-a'yuninaa wa sabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoom

So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest,

اور تو ٹھہرا رہ منتظر اپنے رب کے حکم کا تو تو ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے ہے [۳۷] اور پاکی بیان کر اپنے رب کی خوبیاں جس وقت تو اٹھتا ہے [۳۸]

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ

Wa minal laili fasabbihhu wa idbaaran nujoom

And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars.

اور کچھ رات میں بول اُسکی پاکی اور پیٹھ پھیرتے وقت تاروں کے [۳۹]
