Al-A'raaf

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓمٓصٓ

Alif-Laaam-Meeem-Saaad

المص

كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌۭ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Kitaabun unzila ilaika falaa yakum fee sadrika harajum minhu litunzira bihee wa zikraa lilmu'mineen

(It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers.

یہ کتاب اتری ہے تجھ پر سو چاہئے کہ تیرا جی تنگ نہ ہو اس کے پہنچانے سے [۱] تاکہ تو ڈرائے اس سے اور نصیحت ہو ایمان والوں کو [۲]

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۗ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Ittabi'oo maaa unzila 'ilaikum mir Rabbikum wa laa tattabi'oo min dooniheee awliyaaa'; qaleelam maa tazakkaroon

(Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect!

چلو اسی پر جو اترا تم پر تمہارے رب کی طرف سے اور نہ چلو اسکے سوا اور رفیقوں کے پیچھے تم بہت کم دھیان کرتے ہو [۳]

وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ

Wa kam min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa fajaaa'ahaa baasunaa bayaatan aw hum qaaa'iloon

How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them.

اور کتنی بستیاں ہم نے ہلاک کر دیں کہ پہنچا ان پر ہمارا عذاب راتوں رات یا دوپہر کو سوتے ہوئے

فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Famaa kaana da'waahum iz jaaa'ahum baasunaa illaaa an qaalooo innaa kunnaa zaalimeen

No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers.

پھر یہی تھی ان کی پکار جس وقت کہ پہنچا ان پر ہمارا عذاب کہ کہنے لگے بیشک ہمی تھے گنہگار [۴]

فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Falanas 'alannal lazeena ursila ilaihim wa lanas 'alannal mursaleen

Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers.

سو ہم کو ضرور پوچھنا ہے ان سے جن کے پاس رسول بھیجے گئے تھے اور ہم کو ضرور پوچھنا ہے رسولوں سے [۵]

فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍۢ ۖ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ

Falanaqussanna 'alaihim bi'ilminw wa maa kunnaa ghaaa'ibeen

Then verily We shall narrate unto them (the event) with knowledge, for We were not absent (when it came to pass).

پھر ہم انکو احوال سنائیں گے اپنے علم سے اور ہم کہیں غائب نہ تھے [۶]

وَٱلْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ ۚ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Walwaznu Yawma'izinil haqq; faman saqulat mawaa zeenuhoo fa-ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful.

اور تول اس دن ٹھیک ہو گی پھر جس کی تولیں بھاری ہوئیں سو وہی ہیں نجات پانے والے

وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ

Wa man khaffat mawaazeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasirooo anfusahum bimaa kaanoo bi Aayaatinaa yazlimoon

And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations.

اور جس کی تولیں ہلکی ہوئیں سو وہی ہیں جنہوں نے اپنا نقصان کیا [۷] اس واسطے کہ ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کرتے تھے [۸]

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ ۗ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

Wa laqad makkannaakum fil ardi wa ja'alnaa lakum feehaa ma'aayish; qaleelam maa tashkuroon

And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks!

اور ہم نے تم کو جگہ دی زمین میں اور مقرر کر دیں اس میں تمہارے لئے روزیاں تم بہت کم شکر کرتے ہو [۹]

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ

Wa laqad khalaqnaakum summa sawwarnaakum summa qulnaa lilmalaaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fa-sajadooo illaaa Ibleesa lam yakum minas saajideen

And We created you, then fashioned you, then told the angels: Fall ye prostrate before Adam! And they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, who was not of those who make prostration.

اور ہم نے تم کو پیدا کیا پھر صورتیں بنائیں تمہاری پھر حکم کیا فرشتوں کو کہ سجدہ کرو آدم کو پس سجدہ کیا سب نے مگر ابلیس نہ تھا سجدہ والوں میں

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍۢ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍۢ

Qaala maa mana'aka allaa tasjuda iz amartuka qaala ana khairum minhu khalaqtanee min naarinw wa khalaqtahoo min teen

He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? (Iblis) said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud.

کہا تجھ کو کیا مانع تھا کہ تو نے سجدہ نہ کیا جب میں نے حکم دیا بولا میں اس سے بہتر ہوں مجھ کو تو نے بنایا آگ سے اور اس کو بنایا مٹی سے

قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ

Qaala fahbit minhaa famaa yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feehaa fakhruj innaka minas saaghireen

He said: Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! Lo! thou art of those degraded.

کہا تو اتر یہاں سے [۱۰] تو اس لائق نہیں کہ تکبر کرے یہاں پس باہر نکل تو ذلیل ہے [۱۱]

قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Qaala anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

He said: Reprieve me till the day when they are raised (from the dead).

بولا کہ مجھے مہلت دے اس دن تک کہ لوگ قبروں سے اٹھائے جائیں

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ

Qaala innaka minal munzareen

He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved.

فرمایا تجھ کو مہلت دی گئ [۱۲]

قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَٰطَكَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Qaala fabimaaa aghway tanee la aq'udanna lahum Siraatakal Mustaqeem

He said: Now, because Thou hast sent me astray, verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path.

بولا تو جیسا تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا ہے میں بھی ضرور بیٹھوں گا انکی تاک میں تیری سیدھی راہ پر [۱۳]

ثُمَّ لَءَاتِيَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَٰكِرِينَ

Summa la aatiyannahum mim baine aideehim wa min khalfihim wa 'an aimaanihim wa 'an shamaaa'ilihim wa laa tajidu aksarahum shaakireen

Then I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right hands and from their left hands, and Thou wilt not find most of them beholden (unto Thee).

پھر ان پر آؤں گا ان کے آگے سے اور پیچھے سے اور دائیں سے اور بائیں سے [۱۴] اور نہ پائے گا تو اکثروں کو ان میں شکرگذار [۱۵]

قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًۭا مَّدْحُورًۭا ۖ لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Qaalakh ruj mnhaa maz'oomam madhooraa; laman tabi'aka minhum la amla'anna Jahannama minkum ajma'een

He said: Go forth from hence, degraded, banished. As for such of them as follow thee, surely I will fill hell with all of you.

کہا نکل یہاں سے برے حال سے مردود ہو کر جو کوئی ان میں سے تیری راہ پر چلے گا تو میں ضرور بھر دوں گا دوزخ کو تم سب سے [۱۶]

وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa yaaa Aadamus kun anta wa zawjukal Jannata fakulaa min haisu shi'tumaa wa laa taqrabaa haazihish shajarata fatakoonaa minza zaalimeen

And (unto man): O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden and eat from whence ye will, but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.

اور اے آدم رہ تو اور تیری عورت جنت میں پھر کھاؤ جہاں سے چاہو اور پاس نہ جاؤ اس درخت کے پھر تم ہو جاؤ گے گنہگار [۱۷]

فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ

Fawaswasa lahumash Shaitaanu liyubdiya lahumaa maa wooriya 'anhumaa min saw aatihimaa wa qaala maa nahaakumaa Rabbukumaa 'an haazihish shajarati illaaa an takoonaa malakaini aw takoonaa minal khaalideen

Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals.

پھر بہکایا ان کو شیطان نے تاکہ کھول دے ان پر وہ چیز کہ انکی نظر سے پوشیدہ تھی انکی شرمگاہوں سے اور وہ بولا کہ تم کو نہیں روکا تمہارے رب نے اس درخت سے مگر اسی لئے کہ کبھی تم ہو جاؤ فرشتہ یا ہو جاؤ ہمیشہ رہنے والے

وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ إِنِّى لَكُمَا لَمِنَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ

Wa qaasamahumaaa innee lakumaa laminan naasiheen

And he swore unto them (saying): Lo! I am a sincere adviser unto you.

اور انکے آگے قسم کھائی کہ میں البتہ تمہارا دوست ہوں

فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍۢ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Fadallaahumaa bighuroor; falammaa zaaqash shajarata badat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannati wa naadaahumaa Rabbuhumaaa alam anhakumaa 'an tilkumash shajarati wa aqul lakumaaa innash Shaitaana lakumaa 'aduwwum mubeen

Thus did he lead them on with guile. And when they tasted of the tree their shame was manifest to them and they began to hide (by heaping) on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called them, (saying): Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you: Lo! Satan is an open enemy to you?

پھر مائل کر لیا انکو فریب سے [۱۸] پھر جب چکھا ان دونوں نے درخت کو تو کھل گئیں ان پر شرمگاہیں انکی [۱۹] اور لگے جوڑنے اپنے اوپر بہشت کے پتے [۲۰] اور پکارا انکو انکے رب نے کیا میں نے منع نہ کیا تھا تم کو اس درخت سے اور نہ کہہ دیا تھا تم کو کہ شیطان تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

Qaalaa Rabbanaa zalamnaaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

They said: Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost!

بولے وہ دونوں اے رب ہمارے ظلم کیا ہم نے اپنی جان پر اور اگر تو ہم کو نہ بخشے اور ہم پر رحم نہ کرے تو ہم ضرور ہو جائیں گے تباہ

قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّۭ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّۭ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ

Qaalah bitoo ba'dukum liba'din aduwwunw wa lakum fil ardi mmustaqarrunw wa mataa'un ilaaheen

He said: Go down (from hence), one of you a foe unto the other. There will be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a while.

فرمایا تم اترو تم ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہو گے [۲۱] اور تمہارے واسطے زمین میں ٹھکانا اور نفع اٹھانا ہے ایک وقت تک

قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ

Qaala feehaa tahyawna wa feehaa tamootoona wa minhaa tukhrajoon

He said: There shall ye live, and there shall ye die, and thence shall ye be brought forth.

فرمایا اسی میں تم زندہ رہو گے [۲۲] اور اسی میں تم مرو گے اور اسی سے تم نکالے جاؤ گے

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًۭا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًۭا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

Yaa Baneee Aadama qad anzalnaa 'alaikum libaasany yuwaaree saw aatikum wa reeshanw wa libaasut taqwaa zaalika khair; zaalika min Aayaatil laahi la'allahum yaz zakkaroon

O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment of restraint from evil, that is best. This is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember.

اےاولاد آدم کی ہم نے اتاری تم پر پوشاک جو ڈھانکے تمہاری شرمگاہیں اور اتارے آرائش کے کپڑے [۲۳] اور لباس پرہیزگاری کا وہ سب سے بہتر ہے [۲۴] یہ نشانیاں ہیں اللہ کی قدرت کی تاکہ وہ لوگ غور کریں [۲۵]

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ ۗ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Yaa Banee Aadama laa yaftinannnakumush Shaitaanu kamaaa akhraja abawaikum minal Jannati yanzi'u 'anhumaa libaasahumaa liyuriyahumaa saw aatihimaaa; innahoo yaraakum huwa wa qabeeluhoo min haisu laa tarawnahum; innaa ja'alnash Shayaateena awliyaaa'a lillazeena laa yu'minoon

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not.

اے اولاد آدم کی نہ بہکائے تم کو شیطان جیسا کہ اس نے نکال دیا تمہارے ماں باپ کو بہشت سے اتروائے ان سے ان کے کپڑے [۲۶] تاکہ دکھلائے انکو شرمگاہیں انکی وہ دیکھتا ہے تم کو اور اسکی قوم جہاں سے تم انکو نہیں دیکھتے [۲۷] ہم نےکر دیا شیطانوں کو رفیق ان لوگوں کا جو ایمان نہیں لاتے [۲۸]

وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Wa izaa fa'aloo faahishatan qaaloo wajadnaa 'alaihaaa aabaaa'ana wallaahu amaranaa bihaa; qul innal laaha laa yaamuru bilfahshaaa'i a-taqooloona 'alal laahi mmaa laa ta'lamoon

And when they do some lewdness they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us. Say: Allah, verily, enjoineth not lewdness. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?

اور جب کرتے ہیں کوئی برا کام تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے دیکھا اسی طرح کرتے اپنے باپ دادوں کو اور اللہ نے بھی ہم کو یہ حکم کیا ہے تو کہہ دے کہ اللہ حکم نہیں کرتا برے کام کا کیوں لگاتے ہو اللہ کے ذمہ وہ باتیں جو تم کو معلوم نہیں [۲۹]

قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍۢ وَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ

Qul amara Rabbee bilqisti wa aqeemoo wujoohakum 'inda kulli masjidin wad'oohu mukhliseena lahud deen; kamaa bada akum ta'oodoon

Say: My Lord enjoineth justice. And set your faces upright (toward Him) at every place of worship and call upon Him, making religion pure for Him (only). As He brought you into being, so return ye (unto Him).

تو کہہ دے کہ میرے رب نے حکم کر دیا ہے انصاف کا [۳۰] اور سیدھے کرو اپنے منہ ہر نماز کے وقت اور پکارو اسکو خالص اس کے فرمانبردار ہو کر [۳۱] جیسا تم کو پہلے پیدا کیا دوسری بار بھی پیدا ہو گے [۳۲]

فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ ۗ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

Fareeqan hadaa wa fareeqan haqqa 'alaihimud dalaalah; innahumut takhazush Shayaateena awliyaaa'a min doonil laahi wa yahsaboona annnahum muhtadoon

A party hath He led aright, while error hath just hold over (another) party, for lo! they choose the devils for protecting supporters instead of Allah and deem that they are rightly guided.

ایک فرقہ کو ہدایت کی اور ایک فرقہ پر مقرر ہو چکی گمراہی انہوں نے بنایا شیطانوں کو رفیق اللہ کو چھوڑ کر اور سمجھتے ہیں کہ وہ ہدایت پر ہیں [۳۳]

۞ يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍۢ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

Yaa Banneee Adama khuzoo zeenatakum 'inda kulli masjidinw wa kuloo washraboo wa laa tusrifoo; innahoo laa yuhibbul musrifeen

O Children of Adam! Look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. Lo! He loveth not the prodigals.

اے اولاد آدم کی لے لو اپنی آرائش ہر نماز کے وقت اور کھاؤ اور پیئو اور بیجا خرچ نہ کرو اس کو خوش نہیں آتے بیجا خرچ کرنے والے [۳۴]

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِىَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةًۭ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَ

Qul man harrama zeenatal laahil lateee akhraja li'ibaadihee wattaiyibaati minar rizq; qul hiya lillazeena aamanoo fil hayaatid dunyaa khaalisatany Yawmal Qiyaamah; kazaalika nufassihul Aayaati liqawminy ya'lamoon

Say: Who hath forbidden the adornment of Allah which He hath brought forth for His bondmen, and the good things of His providing? Say: Such, on the Day of Resurrection, will be only for those who believed during the life of the world. Thus do we detail Our revelations for people who have knowledge.

تو کہہ کس نے حرام کیا اللہ کی زینت کو جو اس نے پیدا کی اپنے بندوں کے واسطے اور ستھری چیزیں کھانے کی تو کہہ یہ نعمتیں اصل میں ایمان والوں کے واسطے ہیں دنیا کی زندگی میں خالص انہی کے واسطے ہیں قیامت کے دن اسی طرح مفصل بیان کرتے ہیں ہم آیتیں انکے لئے جو سمجھتے ہیں [۳۵]

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًۭا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Qul innamaa harrama Rabbiyal fawaahisha maa zahara minhaa wa maa bataa wal isma walbaghya bighairil haqqi wa an tushrikoo billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaananw wa an taqooloo 'alal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

Say: My Lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.

تو کہہ دے میرے رب نے حرام کیا ہے صرف بیحیائی کی باتوں کو جو ان میں کھلی ہوئی ہیں اور جو چھپی ہوئی ہیں اور گناہ کو [۳۶] اور ناحق زیادتی کو اور اس بات کو کہ شریک کرو اللہ کا ایسی چیز کو کہ جس کی اس نے سند نہیں اتاری اور اس بات کو کہ لگاؤ اللہ کے ذمہ وہ باتیں جو تم کو معلوم نہیں [۳۷]

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌۭ ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةًۭ ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

Wa likulli ummatin ajalun fa izaa jaaa'a ajaluhum laa yastaakhiroona saa'atanw wa laa yastaqdimoon

And every nation hath its term, and when its term cometh, they cannot put it off an hour nor yet advance (it).

اور ہر فرقےکے واسطے ایک وعدہ ہے پھر جب آ پہنچے گا ان کا وعدہ نہ پیچھے سرک سکیں گے ایک گھڑی اور نہ آگے سرک سکیں گے [۳۸]

يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى ۙ فَمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

yaa Banee Aadama immaa yaatiyannakum Rusulum minkum yaqussoona 'alaikum Aayaatee famanit taqaa wa aslaha falaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

O Children of Adam! When messengers of your own come unto you who narrate unto you My revelations, then whosoever refraineth from evil and amendeth - there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

اے اولاد آدم کی اگر آئیں تمہارے پاس رسول تم میں کے کہ سنائیں تم کو آیتیں میری تو جو کوئی ڈرے اور نیکی پکڑے تو نہ خوف ہو گا ان پر اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوں گے

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo 'anhhaaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

But they who deny Our revelations and scorn them - each are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein.

اور جنہوں نے جھٹلایا ہماری آیتوں کو اور تکبر کیا ان سے وہی ہیں دوزخ میں رہنے والے وہ اسی میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے [۳۹]

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰفِرِينَ

Faman azlamu mimmanif taraa 'alal laahi kaziban aw kazzaba bi Aayaatih; ulaaa'ika yanaaluhum naseebuhum minal Kitaab; hataaa izaa jaaa'at hum rusulunaa yatawaf fawnahum qaalooo aina maa kuntum tad'oonaa min doonil laahi qaaloo dalloo 'annaa wa shahidoo 'alaaa anfusihim annahum kaanoo kaafieen

Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah or denieth Our tokens. (For such) their appointed portion of the Book (of destiny) reacheth them till, when Our messengers come to gather them, they say: Where (now) is that to which ye cried beside Allah? They say: They have departed from us. And they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers.

پھر اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون جو بہتان باندھے اللہ پر جھوٹا یا جھٹلائے اسکے حکموں کو [۴۰] وہ لوگ ہیں کہ ملے گا ان کو جو انکا حصہ لکھا ہوا ہے کتاب میں [۴۱] یہاں تک کہ جب پہنچیں ان کے پاس ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے انکی جان لینے کو تو کہیں کیا ہوئے وہ جن کو تم پکارا کرتے تھے سوا اللہ کے بولیں گے وہ ہم سےکھوئے گئے اور اقرار کر لیں گے اپنے اوپر کہ بیشک وہ کافر تھے [۴۲]

قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍۢ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌۭ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًۭا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًۭا ضِعْفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّۢ ضِعْفٌۭ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ

Qaalad khuloo feee umamin qad khalat min qablikum minal jinni wal insifin naari kullamaa dakhalat ummatul la'anat ukhtahaa hattaaa izad daarakoo feehaa jamee'an qaalat ukhraahum li oolaahum Rabbannaa haaa'u laaa'i adalloonaa fa aatihim 'azaaban di'fam minan naari qaala likullin di funw wa laakil laa ta'lamoon

He saith: Enter into the Fire among nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before you. Every time a nation entereth, it curseth its sister (nation) till, when they have all been made to follow one another thither, the last of them saith unto the first of them: Our Lord! These led us astray, so give them double torment of the Fire. He saith: For each one there is double (torment), but ye know not.

فرمائے گا داخل ہو جاؤ ہمراہ اور امتوں کے جو تم سے پہلے ہو چکی ہیں جن اور آدمیوں میں سے دوزخ کے اندر [۴۳] جب داخل ہو گی ایک امت تو لعنت کرے گی دوسری امت کو [۴۴] یہاں تک کہ جب گر چکیں گے اس میں سارے تو کہیں گے انکے پچھلے پہلوں کو اے رب ہمارے ہم کو انہی نے گمراہ کیا سو تو انکو دے دونا عذاب آگ کا فرمائے گا کہ دونوں کو دو گنا ہے لیکن تم نہیں جانتے [۴۵]

وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۢ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

Wa qaalat oolaahum li ukhraahum famaa kaana lakum 'alainaa min fadlin fazooqul azaaba bimaa kuntum taksiboon

And the first of them saith unto the last of them: Ye were no whit better than us, so taste the doom for what ye used to earn.

اور کہیں گے ان کے پہلے پچھلوں کو پس کچھ نہ ہوئی تم کو ہم پر بڑائی اب چکھو عذاب بسبب اپنی کمائی کے [۴۶]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Innal lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo 'anhaa laa tufattahu lahum ahwaabus samaaa'i wa laa yadkhuloonal jannata hattaa yalijal jamalu fee sammil khiyaat; wa kazaalika najzil mujrimeen

Lo! they who deny Our revelations and scorn them, for them the gates of heaven will nor be opened not will they enter the Garden until the camel goeth through the needle's eye. Thus do We requite the guilty.

بیشک جنہوں نے جھٹلایا ہماری آیتوں کو اور ان کے مقابلہ میں تکبر کیا نہ کھولے جائیں گے انکے لئےدروازے آسمان کے [۴۷] اور نہ داخل ہوں گے جنت میں یہاں تک کہ گھس جائے اونٹ سوئی کے ناکے میں [۴۸] اور ہم یوں بدلا دیتے ہیں گنہگاروں کو

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌۭ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍۢ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Lahum min jahannama mihaadunw wa min fawqihim ghawaash; wa kazaalika najziz zaalimeen

Theirs will be a bed of hell, and over them coverings (of hell). Thus do We requite wrong-doers.

انکے واسطے دوزخ کا بچھونا ہے اور اوپر سے اوڑھنا [۴۹] اور ہم یوں بدلا دیتے ہیں ظالموں کو

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati la nukallifu nafsan illaa wus'ahaaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabul jannati hum feehaa khaalidoon

But (as for) those who believe and do good works - We tax not any soul beyond its scope - Such are rightful owners of the Garden. They abide therein.

اور جو ایمان لائے اور کیں نیکیاں ہم بوجھ نہیں رکھتے کسی پر مگر اس کی طاقت کے موافق وہی ہیں جنت میں رہنے والے وہ اسی میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے [۵۰]

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ ۖ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Wa naza'naa maa fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimul anhaaru wa qaalul hamdu lillaahil lazee hadaanaa lihaaza wa maa kunna linahtadiya law laaa ann hadaanal laahu laqad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; wa noodoo an tilkumul jannnatu ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

And We remove whatever rancour may be in their hearts. Rivers flow beneath them. And they say: The praise to Allah, Who hath guided us to this. We could not truly have been led aright if Allah had not guided us. Verily the messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth. And it is cried unto them: This is the Garden. Ye inherit it for what ye used to do.

اور نکال لیں گے ہم جو کچھ ان کے دلوں میں خفگی تھی [۵۱] بہتی ہوں گی ان کے نیچے نہریں اور وہ کہیں گے شکر اللہ کا جس نے ہم کو یہاں تک پہنچا دیا اور ہم نہ تھے راہ پانے والے اگر نہ ہدایت کرتا ہم کو اللہ بیشک لائے تھے رسول ہمارے رب کے سچی بات [۵۲] اور آواز آئے گی کہ یہ جنت ہے وارث ہوئے تم اس کے بدلے میں اپنے اعمال کے [۵۳]

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّۭا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّۭا ۖ قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa naadaa Ashaabul jannati ashaaban Naari an qad wajadnaa maa wa'adannaa Rabbunaa haqqan fahal wajattum maa wa'ada Rabbukum haqqan qaaloo na'am; fa azzana mu'azzinum bainahum al la'natul laahi 'alaz zaalimeen

And the dwellers of the Garden cry unto the dwellers of the Fire: We have found that which our Lord promised us (to be) the Truth. Have ye (too) found that which your Lord promised the Truth? They say: Yea, verily. And a crier in between them crieth: The curse of Allah is on evil-doers,

اور پکاریں گے جنت والے دوزخ والوں کو کہ ہم نے پایا جو ہم سے وعدہ کیا تھا ہمارے رب نے سچا سو تم نے بھی پایا اپنے رب کے وعدہ کو سچا وہ کہیں گے کہ ہاں پھر پکارے گا ایک پکارنے والا انکے بیچ میں کہ لعنت ہے اللہ کی ان ظالموں پر

ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًۭا وَهُم بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ

Allazeena yasuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi wa yabghoo nahaa 'iwajanw wa hum bil Aakhirati kaafiroon

Who debar (men) from the path of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Last Day.

جو روکتے تھے اللہ کی راہ سے اور ڈھونڈتے تھے اس میں کجی اور وہ آخرت سے منکر تھے [۵۴]

وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌۭ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌۭ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ ۚ وَنَادَوْا۟ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ

Wa bainahumaa hijaab; wa 'alal A'raafi rijaaluny ya'rifoona kullam biseemaahum; wa naadaw Ashaabal jannati an salaamun 'alaikum; lam yadkhuloohaa wa hum yatma'oon

Between them is a veil. And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks. And they call unto the dwellers of the Garden: Peace be unto you! They enter it not although they hope (to enter).

اور دونوں کے بیچ میں ہو گی ایک دیوار [۵۵] اور اعراف کے اوپر مرد ہوں گے کہ پہچان لیں گے ہر ایک کو اس کی نشانی سے اور وہ پکاریں گے جنت والوں کو کہ سلامتی ہے تم پر وہ ابھی جنت میں داخل نہیں ہوئے اور وہ امیدوار ہیں [۵۶]

۞ وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تِلْقَآءَ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa izaa surifat absaaruhum tilqaaa'a Ashaabin Naari qaalo Rabbanaa laa taj'alnaa ma'al qawmiz zaalimneen

And when their eyes are turned toward the dwellers of the Fire, they say: Our Lord! Place us not with the wrong-doing folk.

اور جب پھرے گی ان کی نگاہ دوزخ والوں کی طرف تو کہیں گے اے رب ہمارے مت کر ہم کو گنہگار لوگوں کے ساتھ [۵۷]

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًۭا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Wa naadaaa Ashaabul A'raffi rijaalany ya'rifoonahum biseemaahum qaaloo maaa aghnaa 'ankum jam'ukum wa maa kuntum tastakbiroon

And the dwellers on the Heights call unto men whom they know by their marks, (saying): What did your multitude and that in which ye took your pride avail you?

اور پکاریں گے اعراف والے ان لوگوں کو کہ انکو پہچانتے ہیں انکی نشانی سے [۵۸] کہیں گے نہ کام آئی تمہارے جماعت تمہاری اور جو تم تکبر کیا کرتے تھے [۵۹]

أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ۚ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ

A haaa'ulaaa'il lazeena aqsamtum laa yanaaluhumul laahu birahma; udkhulul Jannata laa khawfun 'alaikum wa laaa antum tahzanoon

Are these they of whom ye swore that Allah would not show them mercy? (Unto them it hath been said): Enter the Garden. No fear shall come upon you nor is it ye who will grieve.

اب یہ وہی ہیں کہ تم قسم کھایا کرتے تھے کہ نہ پہنچے گی ان کو اللہ کی رحمت چلے جاؤ جنت میں نہ ڈر ہےتم پر اور نہ تم غمگین ہو گے [۶۰]

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا۟ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Wa naadaaa Ashaabun Naari Ashaabal jannati an afeedoo 'alainaa minal maaa'i aw mimma razaqakumul laah; qaaloo innal laaha harrama humaa 'alal kaafireen

And the dwellers of the Fire cry out unto the dwellers of the Garden: Pour on us some water or some wherewith Allah hath provided you. They say: Lo! Allah hath forbidden both to disbelievers (in His guidance),

اور پکاریں گے دوزخ والے جنت والوں کو کہ بہاؤ ہم پر تھوڑا سا پانی یا کچھ اس میں سے جو روزی تم کو دی اللہ نےکہیں گے اللہ نے ان دونوں کو روک دیا ہے کافروں سے

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًۭا وَلَعِبًۭا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

Allazeenat takhazoo deenahu lahwanw wa la'i-banw wa gharrat humul hayaatud dunyaa; fal Yawma nnannsaahum kamaa nasoo liqaaa'a Yawmihim haazaa wa maa kaanoo bi aayaatinaa yajhadoon

Who took their religion for a sport and pastime, and whom the life of the world beguiled. So this day We have forgotten them even as they forgot the meeting of this their Day and as they used to deny Our tokens.

جنہوں نے ٹھہرایا اپنا دین تماشا اور کھیل اور دھوکے میں ڈالا ان کو دنیا کی زندگی نے سو آج ہم انکو بھلا دیں گے جیسا انہوں نے بھلا دیا اس دن کے ملنے کو اور جیسا کہ وہ ہماری آیتوں سےمنکر تھے [۶۱]

وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَٰهُم بِكِتَٰبٍۢ فَصَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Wa laqad ji'naahum bi Kitaabin fassalnaahu 'alaa 'ilmin hudanw wa rahmatal liqawminy-yu'miinoon

Verily We have brought them a Scripture which We expounded with knowledge, a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.

اور ہم نے ان لوگوں کے پاس پہنچا دی ہے کتاب جس کو مفصل بیان کیا ہے ہم نے خبرداری سے راہ دکھانے والی اور رحمت ہے ایمان والوں کے لئے [۶۲]

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُۥ ۚ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى تَأْوِيلُهُۥ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا۟ لَنَآ أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

hal yanzuroona illaa taa weelah; yawma yaatee taaweeluhoo yaqoolul lazeena nasoohu min qablu qad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; fahal lanaa min shufa'aaa'a fa yashfa'oo lanaaa aw nuraddu fana'mala ghairal lazee kunnaa na'mal; qad khasirooo anfusahum wa dalla 'anhum maa kaanoo yaftaroon

Await they aught save the fulfilment thereof? On the day when the fulfilment thereof cometh, those who were before forgetful thereof will say: The messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth! Have we any intercessors, that they may intercede for us? Or can we be returned (to life on earth), that we may act otherwise than we used to act? They have lost their souls, and that which they devised hath failed them.

کیا اب اسی کے منتظر ہیں کہ اس کا مضمون ظاہر ہو جائے جس دن ظاہر ہو جائے گا اس کا مضمون کہنے لگیں گے وہ لوگ جو اس کو بھول رہے تھے پہلےسے بیشک لائے تھے ہمارے رب کے رسول سچی بات سو اب کوئی ہماری سفارش والے ہیں تو ہماری سفارش کریں یا ہم لوٹا دیے جائیں تو ہم عمل کریں خلاف اس کےجو ہم کر رہے تھے بیشک تباہ کیا انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو اور گم ہو جائے گا ان سے جو وہ افترا کیا کرتے تھے [۶۳]

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًۭا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ ۗ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Inna Rabbakkumul laahul lazee khalaqas sammaawaati wal arda fee sittati qiyaamin summmas tawaa 'alal 'arshi yughshil lailan nahaara yatlu buhoo haseesanw washshamsa walqamara wannujooma musakhkharaatim bi amrih; alaa lahul khalqu wal-amr; tabaarakal laahu Rabbul 'aalameen

Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then mounted He the Throne. He covereth the night with the day, which is in haste to follow it, and hath made the sun and the moon and the stars subservient by His command. His verily is all creation and commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

بیشک تمہارا رب اللہ ہے جس نے پیدا کئے آسمان اور زمین [۶۴] چھ دن میں [۶۵] پھر قرار پکڑا عرش پر [۶۶] اوڑھاتا ہے رات پر دن کہ وہ اسکے پیچھے لگا آتا ہے دوڑتا ہوا اور پیدا کئے سورج اور چاند اور تارے [۶۷] تابعدار اپنے حکم کے [۶۸] سن لو اسی کا کام ہے پیدا کرنا اور حکم فرمانا بڑی برکت والا ہے اللہ جو رب ہے سارے جہان کا [۶۹]

ٱدْعُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًۭا وَخُفْيَةً ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Ud'oo Rabbakum tadarru'anw wa khufyah; innahoo laa yuhibbul mu'tadeen

(O mankind!) Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret. Lo! He loveth not aggressors.

پکارو اپنے رب کو گڑگڑا کر اور چپکے چپکے [۷۰] اس کو خوش نہیں آتے حد سے بڑھنے والے [۷۱]

وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Wa laa tufsidoo fil ardi ba'da islaahihaa wad'oohu khawfanw wa tama'aa; inna rahmatal laahi qareebum minal muhsineen

Work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering (thereof). and call on Him in fear and hope. Lo! the mercy of Allah is nigh unto the good.

اور مت خرابی ڈالو زمین میں اس کی اصلاح کے بعد اور پکارو اس کو ڈر اور توقع سے [۷۲] بیشک اللہ کی رحمت نزدیک ہے نیک کام کرنے والوں سے

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًۭا ثِقَالًۭا سُقْنَٰهُ لِبَلَدٍۢ مَّيِّتٍۢ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ ٱلْمَآءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Wa Huwal lazee yursilur riyaaha bushram baina yadai rahmatihee hattaaa izaaa aqallat sahaaban siqaalan suqnaahu libaladim maiyitin fa annzalnaa bihil maaa'a fa akhrajnaa bihee minn kullis samaraat; kazaalika nukhrijul mawtaa la'allakum tazakkaroon

And He it is Who sendeth the winds as tidings heralding His mercy, till, when they bear a cloud heavy (with rain), We lead it to a dead land, and then cause water to descend thereon and thereby bring forth fruits of every kind. Thus bring We forth the dead. Haply ye may remember.

اور وہی ہے کہ چلاتا ہے ہوائیں خوشخبری لانے والی مینہ سے پہلے یہاں تک کہ جب وہ ہوائیں اٹھا لاتی ہیں بھاری بادلوں کو تو ہانک دیتے ہیں ہم اس بادل کو ایک شہر مردہ کی طرف پھر ہم اتارتے ہیں اس بادل سے پانی پھر اس سے نکالتے ہیں سب طرح کے پھل اسی طرح ہم نکالیں گے مردوں کو تاکہ تم غور کرو

وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ ۖ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَشْكُرُونَ

Walbaladut taiyibu yakhruju nabaatuhoo bi-izni Rabbihee wallazee khabusa laa yakhruju illaa nakidaa; kazaalika nusarriful Aayaati liqawminy yashkuroon

As for the good land, its vegetation cometh forth by permission of its Lord; while as for that which is bad, only the useless cometh forth (from it). Thus do We recount the tokens for people who give thanks.

اور جو شہر پاکیزہ ہے اس کا سبزہ نکلتا ہے اس کے رب کے حکم سے اور جو خراب ہے اس میں نہیں نکلتا مگر ناقص یوں پھیر پھیر کر بتلاتے ہیں ہم آیتیں حق ماننے والے لوگوں کو [۷۳]

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

Laqad arsalnaa noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo inneee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem

We sent Noah (of old) unto his people, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an Awful Day.

بیشک بھیجا ہم نے نوح کو اس کی قوم کی طرف پس اس نے کہا اے میری قوم بندگی کرو اللہ کی کوئی نہیں تمہارا معبود اس کے سوا میں خوف کرتا ہوں تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب سے

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ

Qaalal mala-u min qaw miheee innaa lanaraaka fee dalaalim mubeen

The chieftains of his people said: Lo! we see thee surely in plain error.

بولے سردار اس کی قوم کے ہم دیکھتے ہیں تجھ کو صریح بہکا ہوا [۷۴]

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى ضَلَٰلَةٌۭ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee dalaalatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

He said: O my people! There is no error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.

بولا اے میری قوم میں ہرگز بہکا نہیں و لیکن میں بھیجا ہوا ہوں جہان کے پروردگار کا

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ansahu lakum wa a'lamu minal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and give good counsel unto you, and know from Allah that which ye know not.

پہنچاتا ہوں تم کو پیغام اپنے رب کے اور نصیحت کرتا ہوں تمکو اور جانتا ہوں اللہ کی طرف سے وہ باتیں جو تم نہیں جانتے [۷۵]

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

awa'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum wa litattaqoo wa la'allakum turhamoon

Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you, that he may warn you, and that ye may keep from evil, and that haply ye may find mercy.

کیا تم کو تعجب ہوا کہ آئی تمہارے پاس نصیحت تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ایک مرد کی زبانی جو تم ہی میں سے ہے تاکہ وہ تم کو ڈرائے اور تاکہ تم بچو اور تاکہ تم پر رحم ہو [۷۶]

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ

Fakazzaboohu fa anjai naahu wallazeena ma'ahoo fil fulki wa aghraqnal lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kaanoo qawman 'ameen

But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship, and We drowned those who denied Our tokens. Lo! they were blind folk.

پھر انہوں نے اس کو جھٹلایا پھر ہم نے بچا لیا اسکو اور انکو کہ جو اسکے ساتھ تھے کشتی میں اور غرق کر دیا انکو جو جھٹلاتے تھے ہماری آیتوں کو بیشک وہ لوگ تھے اندھے [۷۷]

۞ وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Wa ilaa 'aadin akhaahum Hoodaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuh; afalaa tattaqoon

And unto (the tribe of) A'ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)?

اور قوم عاد کی طرف بھیجا انکے بھائی ہود کو [۷۸] بولا اے میری قوم بندگی کرو اللہ کی کوئی نہیں تمہارا معبود اسکے سوا سو کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں [۷۹]

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmiheee innaa lanaraaka fee safaahatinw wa innaa lannazunnuka minal kaazibeen

The chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: Lo! we surely see thee in foolishness, and lo! we deem thee of the liars.

بولے سردار جو کافر تھے اس کی قوم میں ہم تو دیکھتے ہیں تجھ کو عقل نہیں اور ہم تو تجھ کو جھوٹا گمان کرتے ہیں [۸۰]

قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى سَفَاهَةٌۭ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee safaahatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

He said: O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds.

بوالا اے میری قوم میں کچھ بےعقل نہیں لیکن میں بھیجا ہوا ہوں پروردگار عالم کا

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ana lakum naasihun ameen

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and am for you a true adviser.

پہنچاتا ہوں تم کو پیغام اپنے رب کے اور میں تمہارا خیرخواہ ہوں اور اطمینان کے لائق [۸۱]

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةًۭ ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

awa 'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum; wazkurooo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di qawmi noohinw wa zaadakum filkhalqi bastatan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi la'allakum tuflihoon

Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you, that he may warn you? Remember how He made you viceroys after Noah's folk, and gave you growth of stature. Remember (all) the bounties of your Lord, that haply ye may be successful.

کیا تم کو تعجب ہوا کہ آئی تمہارے پاس نصیحت تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ایک مرد کی زبانی جو تم ہی میں سے ہے تاکہ تمکو ڈرائے اور یاد کرو جبکہ تم کو سردار کر دیا پیچھے قوم نوح کے [۸۲] اور زیادہ کر دیا تمہارے بدن کا پھیلاؤ [۸۳] سو یاد کرو اللہ کےاحسان تاکہ تمہارا بھلا ہو [۸۴]

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Qaalooo aji'tanaa lina'budal laaha wahdahoo wa nazara maa kaana ya'budu aabaaa'u naa faatinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minas saadiqeen

They said: Hast come unto us that we should serve Allah alone, and forsake what our fathers worshipped? Then bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us if thou art of the truthful!

بولےکیا تو اس واسطے ہمارے پاس آیا کہ ہم بندگی کریں اللہ اکیلے کی اور چھوڑ دیں جن کو پوجتے رہے ہمارے باپ دادےپس تو لے آ ہمارے پاس جس چیز سے تو ہم کو ڈراتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے [۸۵]

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌۭ وَغَضَبٌ ۖ أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍۢ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍۢ ۚ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

Qaala qad waqa'a alaikum mir Rabbikum rijsunw wa ghadab, atujaadiloonanee feee asmaaa'in sammaitumoohaaa antum wa aabaaa'ukum maa nazzalal laahu bihaa min sultaan; fantazirooo innee ma'akum minal muntazireen

He said: Terror and wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you. Would ye wrangle with me over names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which no warrant from Allah hath been revealed? Then await (the consequence), lo! I (also) am of those awaiting (it).

کہا تم پر واقع ہو چکا ہے تمہارے رب کی طرف سے عذاب اور غصہ [۸۶] کیوں جھگڑتے ہو مجھ سے ان ناموں پر کہ رکھ لئے ہیں تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادوں نے نہیں اتاری اللہ نے ان کی کوئی سند سو منتظر رہو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ منتظر ہوں [۸۷]

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Fa anjainaahu wallazeena ma'ahoo birahmatim minnaa wa qata'naa daabiral lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa maa kaanoo mu'mineen

And We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut the root of those who denied Our revelations and were not believers.

پھر ہم نے بچا لیا اس کو اور جو اس کےساتھ تھے اپنی رحمت سے اور جڑ کاٹی ان کی جو جھٹلاتے تھے ہماری آیتوں کو او رنہیں مانتے تھے [۸۸]

وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

Wa ilaa Samooda akhaahum Saalihaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum haazihee naaqatul laahi lakum Aayatan fazaroohaa taakul feee ardil laahi wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo'in fa yaakhuzakum 'azaabun aleem

And to (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you. Lo! this is the camel of Allah, a token unto you; so let her feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you.

اور ثمود کی طرف بھیجا انکے بھائی صالح کو بولا اے میری قوم بندگی کرو اللہ کی کوئی نہیں تمہارا معبود اسکے سوا تم کو پہنچ چکی ہے دلیل تمہارے رب کی طرف سے [۸۹] یہ اونٹنی اللہ کی ہے تمہارے لئے نشانی سو اس کو چھوڑ دو کہ کھائے اللہ کی زمین میں اور اس کو ہاتھ نہ لگاؤ بری طرح پھر تم کو پکڑے گا عذاب دردناک [۹۰]

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍۢ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًۭا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًۭا ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

Wazkkurooo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di 'Aadinw wa bawwa akum fil ardi tattakhizoona min suhoolihaa qusooranw wa tanhitoonal jibaala buyootan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen

And remember how He made you viceroys after A'ad and gave you station in the earth. Ye choose castles in the plains and hew the mountains into dwellings. So remember (all) the bounties of Allah and do not evil, making mischief in the earth.

اور یاد کرو جبکہ تم کو سردار کر دیا عاد کے پیچھے اور ٹھکانہ دیا تم کو زمین میں کہ بناتے ہو نرم زمین میں محل اور تراشتے ہو پہاڑوں کے گھر سو یاد کرو احسان اللہ کے اور مت مچاتے پھرو زمین میں فساد [۹۱]

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِمَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَٰلِحًۭا مُّرْسَلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلَ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lillazeenas tud'ifoo liman aamana minhum ata'almoona anna Saaliham mursalum mir Rabbih; qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursila bihee mu'minoon

The chieftains of his people, who were scornful, said unto those whom they despised, unto such of them as believed: Know ye that Salih is one sent from his Lord? They said: Lo! In that wherewith he hath been sent we are believers.

کہنے لگے سردار جو متکبر تھے اس کی قوم میں غریب لوگوں کو کہ جو ان میں ایمان لا چکے تھے کیا تم کو یقین ہے کہ صالح کو بھیجا ہے اس کے رب نے بولے ہم کو تو جو وہ لے کر آیا اس پر یقین ہے

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ

Qaalal lazeenas takbarooo innaa billazeee aamanntum bihee kaafiroon

Those who were scornful said: Lo! in that which ye believe we are disbelievers.

کہنے لگے وہ لوگ جو متکبر تھے جس پر تم کو یقین ہے ہم اسکو نہیں مانتے [۹۲]

فَعَقَرُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰصَٰلِحُ ٱئْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Fa'aqarun naaqata wa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim wa qaaloo yaa Saalihu' tinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minal mursaleen

So they hamstrung the she-camel, and they flouted the commandment of their Lord, and they said: O Salih! Bring upon us that thou threatenest if thou art indeed of those sent (from Allah).

پھر انہوں نے کاٹ ڈالا اونٹنی کو اور پھر گئے اپنے رب کے حکم سے [۹۳] اور بولے اے صالح لے آ ہم پر جس سے تو ہم کو ڈراتا تھا اگر تو رسول ہے [۹۴]

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ

Fa akhazat humur rajftu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimmeen

So the earthquake seized them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling-place.

پس آ پکڑا انکو زلزلہ نے پھر صبح کو رہ گئے اپنے گھر میں اندھے پڑے [۹۵]

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُحِبُّونَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ

Fa tawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalata Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum wa laakil laa tuhibboonan naasiheen

And (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers.

پھر صالح الٹا پھرا ان سے اور بولا اے میری قوم میں پہنچا چکا تم کو پیغام اپنے رب کا اور خیرخواہی کی تمہاری لیکن تمکو محبت نہیں خیرخواہوں سے [۹۶]

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa Lootan iz qaala liqawmiheee ataatoonal faahishata maa sabaqakum bihaa min ahadim minal 'aalameen

And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?

اور بھیجا لوط کو جب کہا اس نے اپنی قوم کو کیا تم کرتے ہو ایسی بے حیائی کہ تم سے پہلے نہیں کیا اس کو کسی نے جہان میں [۹۷]

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةًۭ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌۭ مُّسْرِفُونَ

Innakum lataatoonar rijaala shahwatam min doonin nisaaa'; bal antumqawmum musrifoon

Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk.

تم تو دوڑتے ہو مردوں پر شہوت کے مارے عورتوں کو چھوڑ کر بلکہ تم لوگ ہو حد سے گذرنے والے [۹۸]

وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌۭ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

Wa maa kaana jawaaba qawmihee illaa an qaalooo akhrijoohum min qaryatikum innahum unaasuny yatatah haroon

And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure.

اور کچھ جواب نہ دیا اس کی قوم نے مگر یہی کہا کہ نکالو ان کو اپنے شہر سے یہ لوگ بہت ہی پاک رہنا چاہتے ہیں

فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ

Fa anjainaahu wa ahlahooo illam ra atahoo kaanat minal ghaabireen

And We rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind.

پھر بچا دیا ہم نے اس کو اور اسکے گھر والوں کو مگر اس کی عورت کہ رہ گئ وہاں کے رہنے والوں میں [۹۹]

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Wa 'amtarnaa 'alaihim mataran fanzur kaifa kaana aaqibatul mujjrimeen

And We rained a rain upon them. See now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!

اور برسایا ہم نے انکے اوپر مینہ یعنی پتھروں کا [۱۰۰] پھر دیکھ کیا ہوا انجام گنہگاروں کا [۱۰۱]

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Wa ilaa Madyana akhaahum Shu'aybaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum fa awful kaila walmeezaana wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaa'ahum wa laa tufsidoo fil ardi ba'da islaahihaa; zaalikum khairul lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

And unto Midian (We sent) their brother, Shu'eyb. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! a clear proof hath come unto you from your Lord; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not mankind in their goods, and work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering thereof. That will be better for you, if ye are believers.

اور مدین کی طرف بھیجا ان کےبھائی شعیب کو [۱۰۲] بولا اے میری قوم بندگی کرو اللہ کی کوئی نہیں تمہارا معبود اسکے سوا تمہارے پاس پہنچ چکی ہے دلیل تمہارے رب کی طرف سے [۱۰۳] سو پوری کرو ماپ اور تول اور مت گھٹا کر دو لوگوں کو ان کی چیزیں اور مت خرابی ڈالو زمین میں اس کی اصلاح کے بعد یہ بہتر ہےتمہارےلئے اگر تم ایمان والے ہو [۱۰۴]

وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍۢ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًۭا ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًۭا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Wa laa taq'udoo bikulli siraatin too'idoona wa tasuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi man aamana bihee wa abghoonahaa 'iwajaa; waz kurooo iz kuntum qaleelan fakassarakum wanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mufsideen

Lurk not on every road to threaten (wayfarers), and to turn away from Allah's path him who believeth in Him, and to seek to make it crooked. And remember, when ye were but few, how He did multiply you. And see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!

اور مت بیٹھو راستوں پر کہ ڈراؤ اور روکو اللہ کے راستہ سے اس کو جو کہ ایمان لائے اس پر اور ڈھونڈو اس میں عیب [۱۰۵] اور یاد کرو جبکہ تھے تم بہت تھوڑے پھر تم کو بڑھا دیا اور دیکھو کیا ہوا انجام فساد کرنے والوں کا [۱۰۶]

وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنكُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ

Wa In kaana taaa'ifatum minkum aamanoo billazeee ursiltu bihee wa taaa'ifatul lam yu'minoo fasbiroo hattaa yahkumual laahu bainanaa; wa Huwa khairul haakimeen

And if there is a party of you which believeth in that wherewith I have been sent, and there is a party which believeth not, then have patience until Allah judge between us. He is the Best of all who deal in judgment.

اور اگر تم میں سے ایک فرقہ ایمان لایا اس پر جو میرے ہاتھ بھیجا گیا اور ایک فرقہ ایمان نہیں لایا تو صبر کرو جب تک اللہ فیصلہ کرے درمیان ہمارے اور وہ سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے [۱۰۷]

۞ قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَٰشُعَيْبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَٰرِهِينَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lanukhrijannaka yaa Shu'aibu wallazeena aamanoo ma'aka min qaryatinaaa aw lata'oo dunna fee millatinaa; qaala awa law kunnaa kaariheen

The chieftains of his people, who were scornful, said: Surely we will drive thee out, O Shu'eyb, and those who believe with thee, from our township, unless ye return to our religion. He said: Even though we hate it?

بولے سردار جو متکبر تھے اس کی قوم میں ہم ضرور نکال دیں گے اے شعیب تجھ کو اور ان کو جو کہ ایمان لائے تیرےساتھ اپنے شہر سے یا یہ کہ تم لوٹ آؤ ہمارے دین میں [۱۰۸] بولا کیا ہم بیزار ہوں تو بھی [۱۰۹]

قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا ۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا ۚ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ

Qadif tarainaa 'alal laahi kaziban in 'udnaa fee millatikum ba'da iz najjaanal laahu minhaa; wa maa yakoonu lanaaa an na'ooda feehaaa illaaa ai yashaaa'al laahu Rabbunaa; wasi'a Rabbunaa kulla shai'in 'ilmaa; 'alal laahi tawakkalnaa; Rabbanaf tah bainanaa wa baina qawminaa bilhaqqi wa Anta khairul faatiheen

We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah hath rescued us from it. It is not for us to return to it unless Allah our Lord should (so) will. Our Lord comprehendeth all things in knowledge. In Allah do we put our trust. Our Lord! Decide with truth between us and our folk, for Thou art the best of those who make decision.

بیشک ہم نے بہتان باندھا اللہ پر جھوٹا اگر لوٹ آئیں تمہارے دین میں [۱۱۰] بعد اس کی کہ نجات دے چکا ہم کو اللہ اس سے [۱۱۱] اور ہمارا کام نہیں کہ لوٹ آئیں اس میں مگر یہ کہ چاہے اللہ رب ہمارا گھیرے ہوئے ہے ہمارا پروردگار سب چیزوں کو اپنے علم میں اللہ ہی پر ہم نے بھروسا کیا اے ہمارے رب فیصلہ کر ہم میں اور ہماری قوم میں انصاف کے ساتھ اور تو سب سےبہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے [۱۱۲]

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ

Wa qaalal mala ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee la'init taba'tum Shu'aiban innakum izal lakhaasiroon

But the chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: If ye follow Shu'eyb, then truly ye shall be the losers.

اور بولے سردار جو کافر تھے اس کی قوم میں اگر پیروی کرو گے تم شعیب کی تو تم بیشک خراب ہو گے [۱۱۳]

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ

Fa akhazat humur rajfatu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimeen

So the earthquake seized them and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling-place.

پھر آ پکڑا ان کو زلزلہ نے پس صبح کو رہ گئے اپنے گھروں کے اندر اوندھے پڑے [۱۱۴]

ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَا ۚ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًۭا كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

Allazeena kazzaboo Shu'aiban ka al alm yaghnaw feehaa; allazeena kazzaboo Shu'aiban kaanoo humul khaasireen

Those who denied Shu'eyb became as though they had not dwelt there. Those who denied Shu'eyb, they were the losers.

جنہوں نے جھٹلایا شعیب کو گویا کبھی بسے ہی نہ تھے وہاں جنہوں نے جھٹلایا شعیب کو وہی ہوئے خراب [۱۱۵]

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ كَٰفِرِينَ

Fatawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum fakaifa aasaa'alaa qawmin kaafireen

So he turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord's messages unto you and gave you good advice; then how can I sorrow for a people that rejected (truth)?

پھر الٹا پھر ان لوگوں سے اور بولا اے میری قوم میں پہنچا چکا تم کو پیغام اپنے رب کے اور خیر خواہی کر چکا تمہاری اب کیا افسوس کروں کافروں پر [۱۱۶]

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍۢ مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّآ أَخَذْنَآ أَهْلَهَا بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ

Wa maaa arsalnaa fee qaryatim min Nabiyyin illaaa akhaznaaa ahlahaa bil baasaaa'i waddarraaa'i la'allahum yaddarra'oon

And We sent no prophet unto any township but We did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble.

اور نہیں بھیجا ہم نے کسی بستی میں کوئی نبی کہ نہ پکڑا ہو ہم نے وہاں کےلوگوں کو سختی اور تکلیف میں تاکہ وہ گڑگڑائیں

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Summa baddalnaa makaa nas saiyi'atil hasanata hattaa 'afaw wa qaaloo qad massa aabaa'anad darraaa'u wassarraaa'u fa akhaznaahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon

Then changed We the evil plight for good till they grew affluent and said: Tribulation and distress did touch our fathers. Then We seized them unawares, when they perceived not.

پھر بدل دی ہم نے برائی کی جگہ بھلائی یہاں تک کہ وہ بڑھ گئے اور کہنے لگے کہ پہنچتی رہی ہے ہمارےباپ دادوں کو بھی تکلیف اورخوشی پھر پکڑا ہم نے ان کو ناگہاں اور ان کو خبر نہ تھی [۱۱۷]

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

Wa law anna ahlal quraaa aamanoo wattaqaw lafatahnaa 'alaihim barakaatim minas samaaa'i wal ardi wa laakin kazzaboo fa akhaznaahum bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon

And if the people of the townships had believed and kept from evil, surely We should have opened for them blessings from the sky and from the earth. But (unto every messenger) they gave the lie, and so We seized them on account of what they used to earn.

اور اگر بستیوں والے ایمان لاتے اور پرہیزگاری کرتے تو ہم کھول دیتے ان پر نعمتیں آسمان اور زمین سے لیکن جھٹلایا انہوں نے پس پکڑا ہم نے ان کو ان کے اعمال کےبدلے [۱۱۸]

أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًۭا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ

Afa amina ahlul quraaa ai yaatiyahum baasunaa bayaatanw wa hum naaa'imoon

Are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them as a night-raid while they sleep?

اب کیا بے ڈر ہیں بستیوں والے اس سے کہ آ پہنچے ان پر آفت ہماری راتوں رات جب سوتے ہوں

أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًۭى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

Awa amina ahlul quraaa ai yaatiyahum baasunaa duhanw wa hum yal'aboon

Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play?

یا بے ڈر ہیں بستیوں والے اس بات سے کہ آ پہنچے ان پر عذاب ہمارا دن چڑھے جب کھیلتے ہوں [۱۱۹]

أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

Afa aminoo makral laah; falaa yaamanu makral laahi illal qawmul khaasiroon

Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish.

یا بے ڈر ہو گئے اللہ کے داؤ سے سو بے ڈر نہیں ہوتے اللہ کے داؤ سےمگر خرابی میں پڑنے والے [۱۲۰]

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

Awa lam yahdi lillazeena yarisoonal arda mim ba'di ahlihaaa al law nashaaa'u asabnaahum bizunoobihim; wa natba'u 'alaa quloobihim fahum laa yasma'oon

Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not?

کیا نہیں ظاہر ہوا ان لوگوں پر جو وارث ہوئے زمین کے وہاں کے لوگوں کے ہلاک ہونے کے بعد کہ اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کو پکڑ لیں ان کے گناہوں پر [۱۲۱] اور ہم نے مہر کر دی ہے انکے دلوں پر سو وہ نہیں سنتے

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Tilkal quraa naqussu 'alaika min ambaaa'ihaa; wa laqad jaaa'at hum Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati famaa kaanoo liyu'minoo bimaa kazzaboo min qabl; kazaalika yatba'ul laahu 'alaa quloobil kaafireen

Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not).

یہ بستیاں ہیں کہ سناتے ہیں ہم تجھ کو ان کے کچھ حالات اور بیشک ان کے پاس پہنچ چکے ان کے رسول نشانیاں لے کر پھر ہرگز نہ ہوا کہ ایمان لائیں اس بات پر جس کو پہلے جھٹلا چکے تھے یوں مہر کر دیتا ہے اللہ کافروں کے دلوں پر [۱۲۲]

وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍۢ ۖ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَٰسِقِينَ

Wa maa wajadnaa li aksarihim min 'ahd; wa inw wajadnaaa aksarahum lafaasiqeen

We found no (loyalty to any) covenant in most of them. Nay, most of them We found wrong-doers.

اور نہ پایا ان کے اکثر لوگوں میں ہم نے عہد کا نباہ اور اکثر ان میں پائےنافرمان [۱۲۳]

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Summa ba'asnaa mim ba'dihim Moosaa bi Aayaatinaaa ilaa Fir'awana wa mala'ihee fazalamoo bihaa fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mufsideen

Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!

پھر بھیجا ہم نے ان کے پیچھے [۱۲۴] موسٰی کو اپنی نشانیاں دے کر فرعون اور اسکےسرداروں کے پاس پس کفر کیا انہوں نےانکے مقابلہ میں سو دیکھ کیا انجام ہوا مفسدوں کا [۱۲۵]

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa qaala Moosaa yaa Fir'awnu inee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds,

اور کہا موسٰی نے اے فرعون میں رسول ہوں پروردگار عالم کا

حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّآ أَقُولَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ ۚ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِىَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Haqeequn 'alaaa al laaa aqoola 'alal laahi illal haqq; qad ji'tukum bibaiyinatim mir Rabbikum fa arsil ma'iya Baneee Israaa'eel

Approved upon condition that I speak concerning Allah nothing but the truth. I come unto you (lords of Egypt) with a clear proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.

قائم ہوں اس بات پر کہ نہ کہوں اللہ کی طرف سے مگر جو سچ ہے لایا ہوں تمہارے پاس نشانی تمہارے رب کی [۱۲۶] سو بھیجدے میرےساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو [۱۲۷]

قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِـَٔايَةٍۢ فَأْتِ بِهَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Qaala in kunta ji'ta bi Aayatin faati bihaaa in kunta minas saadiqeen

(Pharaoh) said: If thou comest with a token, then produce it, if thou art of those who speak the truth.

بولا اگر تو آیا ہے کوئی نشانی لے کر تو لا اس کو اگر تو سچا ہے

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Qa alqaa 'asaahu fa izaa hiya su'baanum mubeen

Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest;

تب ڈال دیا اس نے اپنا عصا تو اسی وقت ہو گیا اژدھا صریح [۱۲۸]

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

Wa naza'a yadahoo fa izaa hiya baidaaa'u linnaazireen

And he drew forth his hand (from his bosom), and lo! it was white for the beholders.

اور نکالا اپنا ہاتھ تو اسی وقت وہ سفید نظر آنے لگا دیکھنے والوں کو [۱۲۹]

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ

Qaalal mala-u min qawmi Fir'awna inna haazaa lasaa hirun 'aleem

The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said: Lo! this is some knowing wizard,

بولے سردار فرعون کی قوم کے یہ تو کوئی بڑا واقف جادوگر ہے [۱۳۰]

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

Yureedu ai yukhrijakum min ardikum famaazaa taamuroon

Who would expel you from your land. Now what do ye advise?

نکالنا چاہتا ہےتم کو تمہارےملک سے اب تمہاری کیا صلاح ہے [۱۳۱]

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ

Qaalooo arjih wa akhaahu wa arsil filmadaaa'ini haashireen

They said (unto Pharaoh): Put him off (a while) - him and his brother - and send into the cities summoners,

بولےڈھیل دے اس کو اور اسکے بھائی کو اور بھیج پرگنوں میں جمع کرنے والوں کو

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍۢ

Yaatooka bikulli saahirin 'aleem

To bring each knowing wizard unto thee.

کہ جمع کر لائیں تیرے پاس جو ہو کامل جادوگر [۱۳۲]

وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ

Wa jaaa'as saharatu Fir'awna qaaloo inna lanaa la ajjran in kunnaa nahnul ghaalibeen

And the wizards came to Pharaoh, saying: Surely there will be a reward for us if we are victors.

اور آئےجادوگر فرعون کے پاس بولے ہمارے لئے کچھ مزدوری ہے اگر ہم غالب ہوئے [۱۳۳]

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

Qaala na'am wa innakum laminal muqarrabeen

He answered: Yes, and surely ye shall be of those brought near (to me).

بولا ہاں اور بیشک تم مقرب ہو جاؤ گے [۱۳۴]

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ

Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa immaaa an tulqiya wa immaaa an nakoona nahnul mulqeen

They said: O Moses! Either throw (first) or let us be the first throwers?

بولے اے موسٰی یا تو تو ڈال اور یا ہم ڈالتے ہیں [۱۳۵]

قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

Qaala alqoo falam maaa alqaw saharooo a'yunannaasi wastarhaboohum wa jaaa'oo bisihrin 'azeem

He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell.

کہا ڈالو [۱۳۶] پھر اجب انہوں نےڈالا باندھ دیا لوگوں کی آنکھوں کو اور ان کو ڈرا دیا اور لائے بڑا جادو [۱۳۷]

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

Wa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an alqi 'asaaka fa izaa hiya talqafu maa yaafikoon

And We inspired Moses (saying): Throw thy staff! And lo! it swallowed up their lying show.

اور ہم نے حکم بھیجا موسٰی کو کہ ڈال دے اپنا عصا سو وہ جبہی لگا نگلنے جو سانگ انہوں نے بنایا تھا

فَوَقَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Fawaqa'al haqqu wa batala maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Thus was the Truth vindicated and that which they were doing was made vain.

پس ظاہر ہو گیا حق اور غلط ہو گیا جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا تھا

فَغُلِبُوا۟ هُنَالِكَ وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ صَٰغِرِينَ

Faghuliboo hunaalika wanqalaboo saaghireen

Thus were they there defeated and brought low.

پس ہار گئے اس جگہ اور لوٹ گئے ذلیل ہو کر

وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ

Wa ulqiyas saharatu saajideen

And the wizards fell down prostrate,

اور گر پڑے جادوگر سجدہ میں [۱۳۸]

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaaloo aamannaa bi Rabbil 'aalameen

Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,

بولے ہم ایمان لائے پروردگار عالم پر

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ

Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon

The Lord of Moses and Aaron.

جو رب ہے موسٰی اور ہارون کا [۱۳۹]

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌۭ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أَهْلَهَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

Qaala Fir'awnu aamantum bihee qabla an aazana lakum; inna haaza lamakrum makartumoohu filmadeenati litukhrijoo minhaaa ahlahaa fasawfa ta'almoon

Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know!

بولا فرعون کیا تم ایمان لے آئے اس پر میری اجازت سے پہلے یہ تو مکر ہے جو بنایا تم سب نے اس شہر میں تاکہ نکال دو اس شہر سے اسکے رہنے والوں کو سو اب تم کو معلوم ہو جائے گا [۱۴۰]

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍۢ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

La uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafin summa la usallibannakum ajma'een

Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides. Then I shall crucify you every one.

میں ضرور کاٹوں گا تمہارے ہاتھ اور دوسری طرف کے پاؤں پھر سولی پر چڑھاؤں گا تم سب کو

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ

Qaaloo innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqaliboon

They said: Lo! We are about to return unto our Lord!

وہ بولے ہم کو تو اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہی ہے [۱۴۱]

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Wa maa tanqimu minnaaa illaaa an aamannaa bi Aayaati Rabbinaa lammaa jaaa'atnaa; Rabbanaaa afrigh 'alainaa sabranw wa tawaffanaa muslimeen

Thou takest vengeance on us only forasmuch as we believed the tokens of our Lord when they came unto us. Our Lord! Vouchsafe unto us steadfastness and make us die as men who have surrendered (unto Thee).

اور تجھ کو ہم سے یہی دشمنی ہے کہ مان لیا ہم نے اپنے رب کی نشانیوں کو جب وہ ہم تک پہنچیں اے ہمارے رب دہانے کھول دے ہم پرصبر کے اور ہم کو مار مسلمان [۱۴۲]

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَٰهِرُونَ

Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmi Fir'awna atazaru Moosaa wa qawmahoo liyufsidoo fil ardi wa yazaraka wa aalihatak; qaala sanuqattilu abnaaa 'ahum wa nastahyee nisaaa'ahum wa innaa fawqahum qaahiroon

The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said: (O King), wilt thou suffer Moses and his people to make mischief in the land, and flout thee and thy gods? He said: We will slay their sons and spare their women, for lo! we are in power over them.

اور بولے سردار قوم فرعون کےکیوں چھوڑتا ہے تو موسٰی کو اور اسکی قوم کو کہ اودھم مچائیں ملک میں [۱۴۳] اور موقوف کر دے تجھ کو اور تیرے بتوں کو [۱۴۴] بولا اب ہم مار ڈالیں گے انکے بیٹوں کو اور زندہ رکھیں گے انکی عورتوں کو اور ہم ان پر زور آور ہیں [۱۴۵]

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Qaala Moosaa liqawmihis ta'eenoo billaahi wasbiroo innal arda lillaahi yoorisuhaa mai yashaaa'u min 'ibaadihee wal 'aaqibatu lilmuttaqeen

And Moses said unto his people: Seek help in Allah and endure. Lo! the earth is Allah's. He giveth it for an inheritance to whom He will. And lo! the sequel is for those who keep their duty (unto Him).

موسٰی نے کہا اپنی قوم سے مدد مانگو اللہ سے اور صبر کرو بیشک زمین ہے اللہ کی اس کا وارث کر دے جسکو وہ چاہے اپنے بندوں میں اور آخر میں بھلائی ہے ڈرنے والوں کے لئے [۱۴۶]

قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

Qaaloo oozeenaa min qabli an taatiyanaa wa mim ba'di maa ji'tanaa; qaala 'asaa Rabbukum ai yuhlika 'aduwwakum wa yastakhli fakum fil ardi fayanzura kaifa ta'maloon

They said: We suffered hurt before thou camest unto us, and since thou hast come unto us. He said: It may be that your Lord is going to destroy your adversary and make you viceroys in the earth, that He may see how ye behave.

وہ بولے ہم پر تکلیفیں رہیں تیرے آنے سے پہلے اور تیرے آنے کے بعد [۱۴۷] کہا نزدیک ہے کہ رب تمہارا ہلاک کر دے تمہارے دشمن کو اور خلیفہ کر دے تم کو ملک میں پھر دیکھے تم کیسے کام کرتے ہو [۱۴۸]

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

Wa laqad akhaznaaa Aala Fir'awna bis sineena wa naqsim minas samaraati la'allahum yazzakkaroon

And we straitened Pharaoh's folk with famine and dearth of fruits, that peradventure they might heed.

اور ہم نے پکڑ لیا فرعون والوں کو قحطوں میں اور میوؤں کے نقصان میں تاکہ وہ نصیحت مانیں

فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا۟ لَنَا هَٰذِهِۦ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۭ يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Fa izaa jaaa'at humul hasanatu qaaloo lanaa haazihee wa in tusibhum saiyi'atuny yattaiyaroo bi Moosaa wa mam ma'ah; alaaa innamaa taaa'iruhum 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

But whenever good befell them, they said: This is ours; and whenever evil smote them they ascribed it to the evil auspices of Moses and those with him. Surely their evil auspice was only with Allah. But most of them knew not.

پھر جب پہنچی انکو بھلائی کہنے لگے یہ ہے ہمارے لائق اور اگر پہنچی برائی تو نحوست بتلاتے موسٰی کی اور اسکے ساتھ والوں کی سن لو ان کی شومی تو اللہ کے پاس ہے پر اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے [۱۴۹]

وَقَالُوا۟ مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍۢ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa qaaloo mahmaa taatinaa bihee min Aayatil litasharanaa bihaa famaa nahnu laka bimu'mineen

And they said: Whatever portent thou bringest wherewith to bewitch us, we shall not put faith in thee.

اور کہنے لگے جو کچھ تو لائے گا ہمارے پاس نشانی کہ ہم پر اسکی وجہ سے جادو کرے سو ہم ہرگز تجھ پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے [۱۵۰]

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍۢ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍۢ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ

Fa arsalnaa 'alaihimut toofaana waljaraada walqum mala waddafaadi'a waddama Aayaatim mufassalaatin fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawmam mujrimeen

So We sent against them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood - a succession of clear signs. But they were arrogant and became a guilty folk.

پھر ہم نے بھیجا ان پر طوفان [۱۵۱] اور ٹڈی اور چچڑی [۱۵۲] اور مینڈک اور خون بہت سی نشانیاں جدی جدی پھر بھی تکبر کرتے رہے اور تھے وہ لوگ گنہگار [۱۵۳]

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Wa lammaa waqa'a 'alaihimur rijzu qaaloo ya Moosad-u lanaa rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka la'in kashafta 'annar rijza lanu 'minanna laka wa lanursilanna ma'aka Banee Israaa'eel

And when the terror fell on them they cried: O Moses! Pray for us unto thy Lord, because He hath a covenant with thee. If thou removest the terror from us we verily will trust thee and will let the Children of Israel go with thee.

اور جب پڑتا ان پر کوئی عذاب تو کہتے اے موسٰی دعا کر ہمارے واسطے اپنے رب سے جیسا کہ اس نے بتلا رکھا ہے تجھ کو [۱۵۴] اگر تو نے دور کر دیا ہم سے یہ عذاب تو بیشک ہم ایمان لے آئیں گے تجھ پر اور جانے دیں گے تیرے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

Falammaa kashafnaa 'anhumur rijza ilaaa ajalin hum baalighoohu izaa hum yankusoon

But when We did remove from them the terror for a term which they must reach, behold! they broke their covenant.

پھر جب ہم نے اٹھا لیا ان سےعذاب ایک مدت تک کہ ان کو اس مدت تک پہنچنا تھا اسی وقت عہد توڑ ڈالتے [۱۵۵]

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

Fantaqamnaa minhum fa aghraqnaahum kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa kaanoo 'anhaa ghaafileen

Therefore We took retribution from them; therefore We drowned them in the sea: because they denied Our revelations and were heedless of them.

پھر ہم نے بدلہ لیا ان سے سو ڈبو دیا ہم نے انکو دریا میں اس وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے جھٹلایا ہماری آیتوں کو اور ان سے تغافل کرتے تھے [۱۵۶]

وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ

Wa awrasnal qawmal lazeena kaanoo yustad'afoona mashaariqal ardi wa maghaari bahal latee baaraknaa feehaa wa tammat kalimatu Rabbikal husnaa 'alaa Baneee Israaa'eela bimaa sabaroo wa dammarnaa maa kaana yasna'u Fir'awnu wa qawmuhoo wa maa kaanoo ya'rishoon

And We caused the folk who were despised to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We had blessed. And the fair word of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their endurance; and We annihilated (all) that Pharaoh and his folk had done and that they had contrived.

اور وارث کر دیا ہم نے ان لوگوں کو جو کمزور سمجھے جاتے تھے [۱۵۷] اس زمین کے مشرق او رمغرب کا کہ جس میں برکت رکھی ہے ہم نے [۱۵۸] اور پورا ہو گیا نیکی کا وعدہ تیرے رب کا بنی اسرائیل پر بسبب انکے صبر کرنے کے اور خراب کر دیا ہم نے جو کچھ بنایا تھا فرعون اور اسکی قوم نے اور جو اونچا کر کے چھایا تھا [۱۵۹]

وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصْنَامٍۢ لَّهُمْ ۚ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱجْعَل لَّنَآ إِلَٰهًۭا كَمَا لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌۭ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌۭ تَجْهَلُونَ

Wa jaawaznaa bi Banneee Israaa'eelal bahra fa ataw 'alaa qawminy ya'kufoona 'alaaa asnaamil lahum; qaaloo yaa Moosaj'al lanaa ilaahan kamaa lahum aalihah; qaala innakum qawmun tajhaloon

And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were given up to idols which they had. They said: O Moses! Make for us a god even as they have gods. He said: Lo! ye are a folk who know not.

اور پار اتار دیا ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا سےتو پہنچے ایک قوم پر جو پوجنے میں لگے رہتے تھے اپنے بتوں کے [۱۶۰] کہنے لگے اے موسٰی بنا دے ہماری عبادت کے لئے بھی ایک بت جیسے ان کے بت ہیں کہا تم لوگ تو جہل کرتے ہو [۱۶۱]

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٌۭ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَٰطِلٌۭ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Innaa haaa'ulaaa'i mutabbarum maa hum feehi wa baatilum maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Lo! as for these, their way will be destroyed and all that they are doing is in vain.

یہ لوگ تباہ ہونے والی ہے وہ چیز جس میں وہ لگے ہوئے ہیں اور غلط ہے جو وہ کر رہے ہیں [۱۶۲]

قَالَ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَٰهًۭا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Qaala a-ghairal laahi abgheekum ilaahanw wa Huwa faddalakum 'alal 'aalameen

He said: Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah when He hath favoured you above (all) creatures?

کہا کیا اللہ کےسوا ڈھونڈوں تمہارے واسطے کوئی اور معبود حالانکہ اس نے تمکو بڑائی دی تمام جہان پر [۱۶۳]

وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌۭ

Wa iz anjainaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoo nakum sooo'al 'azaab, yuqattiloona abnaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem

And (remember) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, slaughtering your sons and sparing your women. That was a tremendous trial from your Lord.

اور وہ وقت یاد کرو جب نجات دی ہم نے تم کو فرعون والوں سے کہ دیتے تھے تم کو برا عذاب کہ مار ڈالتے تھے تمہارے بیٹوں کو اور جیتا رکھتے تھے تمہاری عورتوں کو اور اس میں احسان ہے تمہارے رب کا بڑا [۱۶۴]

۞ وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍۢ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ ۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Wa waa'adnaa Moosaa salaaseena lailatanw wa at mamnaahaa bi'ashrim fatamma meeqaatu Rabbihee arba'eena lailah; wa qaala Moosaa liakheehi Haaroonakh lufnee fee qawmee wa aslih wa laa tattabi' sabeelal mufsideen

And when We did appoint for Moses thirty nights (of solitude), and added to them ten, and he completed the whole time appointed by his Lord of forty nights; and Moses said unto his brother, Aaron: Take my place among the people. Do right, and follow not the way of mischief-makers.

اور وعدہ کیا ہم نےموسٰی سے تیس رات کا اور پورا کیا ان کو اور دس سے پس پوری ہو گئ مدت تیرے رب کی چالیس راتیں [۱۶۵] اور کہا موسٰی نے اپنے بھائی ہارون سےکہ میرا خلیفہ رہ میری قوم میں اور اصلاح کرتے رہنا اور مت چلنا مفسدوں کی راہ [۱۶۶]

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّۭا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًۭا ۚ فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa lammaa jaaa'a Moosa limeeqaatinaa wa kallamahoo Rabbuhoo qaala Rabbi arineee anzur ilaik; qaala lan taraanee wa laakininzur ilal jabali fa inistaqarra makaanahoo faswfa taraanee; falammaa tajallaa Rabbuhoo liljabali ja'alahoo dakkanw wa kharra Moosaa sa'iqaa; falammaaa afaaqa qaala Subhaanaka tubtu ilaika wa ana awwalul mu'mineen

And when Moses came to Our appointed tryst and his Lord had spoken unto him, he said: My Lord! Show me (Thy Self), that I may gaze upon Thee. He said: Thou wilt not see Me, but gaze upon the mountain! If it stand still in its place, then thou wilt see Me. And when his Lord revealed (His) glory to the mountain He sent it crashing down. And Moses fell down senseless. And when he woke he said: Glory unto Thee! I turn unto Thee repentant, and I am the first of (true) believers.

اور جب پہنچا موسٰی ہمارے وعدہ پر اور کلام کیا اس سے اسکے رب نے بولا اے میرے رب تو مجھ کو دکھا کہ میں تجھ کو دیکھوں [۱۶۷] فرمایا تو مجھ کو ہر گز نہ دیکھے گا [۱۶۸] لیکن تو دیکھتا رہ پہاڑ کی طرف اگر وہ اپنی جگہ ٹھہرا رہا تو تو مجھ کو دیکھ لے گا [۱۶۹] پھر جب تجلی کی اسکے رب نے پہاڑ کی طرف کر دیا اس کو ڈھا کر برابر اور گر پڑ اموسٰی بےہوش ہو کر [۱۷۰] پھر جب ہوش میں آیا بولا تیری ذات پاک ہے میں نے توبہ کی تیری طرف اور میں سب سے پہلے یقین لایا [۱۷۱]

قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِرِسَٰلَٰتِى وَبِكَلَٰمِى فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

Qaala yaa Moosaaa innis tafaituka 'alan naasi bi Risaalaatee wa bi kalaamee fakhuz maaa aataituka wa kum minash shaakireen

He said: O Moses! I have preferred thee above mankind by My messages and by My speaking (unto thee). So hold that which I have given thee, and be among the thankful.

فرمایا اے موسٰی میں نے تجھ کو امتیاز دیا لوگوں سے اپنے پیغام بھیجنے کا اور اپنے کلام کرنے کا سو لے جو میں نے تجھ کو دیا اور شاکر رہ [۱۷۲]

وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مَّوْعِظَةًۭ وَتَفْصِيلًۭا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍۢ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا۟ بِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ دَارَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ

Wa katabnaa lahoo fil alwaahi minkulli shai'immaw 'izaanw wa tafseelal likulli shai'in fakhuzhaa biquwwatinw waamur qawmaka yaakhuzoo bi ahsanihaa; wa ooreekum daaral faasiqeen

And We wrote for him, upon the tablets, the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things, then (bade him): Hold it fast; and command thy people (saying): Take the better (course made clear) therein. I shall show thee the abode of evil-livers.

اور لکھ دی ہم نے اس کو تختیوں پر ہر قسم کی نصیحت اور تفصیل ہر چیز کی [۱۷۳] سو پکڑ لے انکو زور سے اور حکم کر اپنی قوم کو کہ پکڑے رہیں اس کی بہتر باتیں عنقریب میں تم کو دکھلاؤں گا گھر نافرمانوں کا [۱۷۴]

سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًۭا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

Sa asrifu 'an Aayaatiyal lazeena yatakabbaroona fil ardi bighairil haqq; wa iny-yaraw kulla Aayatil laa yu'minoo bihaa wa iny-yaraw sabeelar rushdi laa yattakhizoohu sabeelanw wa iny-yaraw sabeelal ghaiyi yatta khizoohu sabeelaa; zaalika bi annahum kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa kaanoo 'anhaa ghaafileen

I shall turn away from My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth, and if they see each token believe it not, and if they see the way of righteousness choose it nor for (their) way, and if they see the way of error choose if for (their) way. That is because they deny Our revelations and are used to disregard them.

میں پھیر دوں گا اپنی آیتوں سے انکو جو تکبر کرتے ہیں زمین میں ناحق اور اگر دیکھ لیں ساری نشانیاں ایمان نہ لائیں ان پر اور اگر دیکھیں رستہ ہدایت کا تو نہ ٹھہرائیں اس کو راہ اور اگر دیکھیں رستہ گمراہی کا تو اس کو ٹھہرا لیں راہ یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے جھوٹ جانا ہماری آیتوں کو اور رہے ان سے بے خبر [۱۷۵]

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ ۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa liqaaa'il Aakhirati habitat 'amaaluhum; hal yujzawna illaa maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Those who deny Our revelations and the meeting of the Hereafter, their works are fruitless. Are they requited aught save what they used to do?

اور جنہوں نے جھوٹ جانا ہماری آیتوں کو اور آخرت کی ملاقات کو برباد ہوئیں ان کی محنتیں وہی بدلا پائیں گے جو کچھ عمل کرتے تھے [۱۷۶]

وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ ۚ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ۘ ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ

Wattakhaza qawmu Moosaa mim ba'dihee min huliyyihim 'ijlan jasadal lahoo khuwaar; alam yaraw annahoo laa yukallimuhum wa laa yahdeehim sabeelaa; ittakha zoohu wa kaanoo zaalimeen

And the folk of Moses, after (he left them), chose a calf (for worship), (made) out of their ornaments, of saffron hue, which gave a lowing sound. Saw they not that it spake not unto them nor guided them to any way? They chose it, and became wrong-doers.

اور بنا لیا موسٰی کی قوم نے اس کے پیچھے اپنے زیور سے بچھڑا [۱۷۷] ایک بدن کہ اسمیں گائے کی آواز تھی کیا انہوں نے یہ نہ دیکھا کہ وہ ان سے بات بھی نہیں کرتاا ور نہیں بتلاتا رستہ معبود بنا لیا اس کو اور وہ تھے ظالم [۱۷۸]

وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِىٓ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

Wa lammaa suqita feee aideehim wa ra aw annahum qad dalloo qaaloo la'il lam yarhamnaa Rabbunaa wa yaghfir lanaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

And when they feared the consequences thereof and saw that they had gone astray, they said: Unless our Lord have mercy on us and forgive us, we verily are of the lost.

اور جب پچتائے اور سمجھے کہ ہم بیشک گمراہ ہو گئے تو کہنے لگے اگر نہ رحم کرے ہم پر ہمارا رب اور نہ بخشے ہم کو تو بیشک ہم تباہ ہوں گے [۱۷۹]

وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًۭا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ ۚ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Wa lammaa raja'a Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifan qaala bi'samaa khalaftumoonee mim ba'dee a-'ajiltum amra Rabbikum wa alqal alwaaha wa akhaza biraasi akheehi yajurruhoo ilaih; qaalab na umma innal qawmas tad'afoonee wa kadoo yaqtu loonanee; falaa tushmit biyal a'daaa'a wa laa taj'alnee ma'al qawmiz zaalimeen

And when Moses returned unto his people, angry and grieved, he said: Evil is that (course) which ye took after I had left you. Would ye hasten on the judgment of your Lord? And he cast down the tablets, and he seized his brother by the head, dragging him toward him. He said: Son of my mother! Lo! the folk did judge me weak and almost killed me. Oh, make not mine enemies to triumph over me and place me not among the evil-doers.

اور جب لوٹ آیا موسٰی اپنی قوم میں غصہ میں بھرا ہوا افسوسناک [۱۸۰] بولا کیا بری نیابت کی تم نے میری میرےبعد [۱۸۱] کیوں جلدی کی تم نےاپنے رب کےحکم سے [۱۸۲] اور ڈالدیں وہ تختیاں اور پکڑا سر اپنے بھائی کا لگا کھینچنے اس کو اپنی طرف [۱۸۳] وہ بولا کہ اے میری ماں کے جنے لوگوں نے مجھ کو کمزور سمجھا اور قریب تھے کہ مجھ کو مار ڈالیں سو مت ہنسا مجھ پر دشمنوں کو اور نہ ملا مجھ کو گنہگار لوگوں میں [۱۸۴]

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِأَخِى وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِى رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

Qaala Rabbigh fir lee wa li akhee wa adkhilnaa fee rahmatika wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

He said: My Lord! Have mercy on me and on my brother; bring us into Thy mercy, Thou the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.

بولا اے میرے رب معاف کر مجھ کو اور میرے بھائی کو اور داخل کر ہم کو اپنی رحمت میں اور تو سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والا ہے [۱۸۵]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌۭ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ

Innal lazeenat takhazul 'ijla-sa yanaaluhum ghadabum mir Rabbihim wa zillatun fil hayaatid dunyaa; wa kazaalika najzil muftareen

Lo! Those who chose the calf (for worship), terror from their Lord and humiliation will come upon them in the life of the world. Thus do We requite those who invent a lie.

البتہ جنہوں نے بچھڑے کو معبود بنا لیا ان کو پہنچے گا غصہ ان کے رب کا اور ذلت دنیا کی زندگی میں اور یہی سزا دیتے ہیں ہم بہتان باندھنے والوں کو [۱۸۶]

وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Wallazeena 'amilus saiyiaati summa taaboo mim ba'dihaa wa aamanooo inna Rabbaka mim ba'dihaa la Ghafoorur Raheem

But those who do ill-deeds and afterward repent and believe - lo! for them, afterward, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

اور جنہوں نے کئے برے کام پھر توبہ کی اس کے بعد اور ایمان لائے تو بیشک تیرا رب توبہ کے پیچھے البتہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے [۱۸۷]

وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوسَى ٱلْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ ۖ وَفِى نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ

Wa lammaa sakata 'am Moosal ghadabu akhazal al waaha wa fee nnuskhatihaa hudanw wa rahmatul lillazeena hum li Rabbihim yarhaboon

Then, when the anger of Moses abated, he took up the tablets, and in their inscription there was guidance and mercy for all those who fear their Lord.

اور جب تھم گیا موسٰی کا غصہ تو اس نے اٹھا لیا تختیوں کو اور جو ان میں لکھا ہوا تھا اس میں ہدایت اور رحمت تھی ان کے واسطے جو اپنے رب سے ڈرتے ہیں

وَٱخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُۥ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًۭا لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّٰىَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ

Wakhtaara Moosaa qawmahoo sab'eena rajjulal limeeqaatinaa falammaa akhazat humur rajfatu qaala Rabbi law shi'ta ahlaktahum min qablu wa iyyaaya atuhlikunna bimaa fa'alas sufahaaa'u minnaa in hiya illaa fitnatuka tudillu bihaa man tashaaa'u wa tahdee man tashaaa'u Anta waliyyunaa faghfir lanaa warhammnnaa wa Anta khairul ghaafireen

And Moses chose of his people seventy men for Our appointed tryst and, when the trembling came on them, he said: My Lord! If Thou hadst willed Thou hadst destroyed them long before, and me with them. Wilt thou destroy us for that which the ignorant among us did? It is but Thy trial (of us). Thou sendest whom Thou wilt astray and guidest whom Thou wilt: Thou art our Protecting Friend, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, Thou, the Best of all who show forgiveness.

اور چن لئے موسٰی نے اپنی قوم میں سے ستر مرد ہمارے وعدہ کے وقت پر لانے کو پھر جب ان کو زلزلہ نے پکڑا تو بولا اے رب میرے اگر تو چاہتا تو پہلے ہی ہلاک کر دیتا انکو اور مجھ کو کیا ہم کو ہلاک کرتا ہے اس کام پر جو کیا ہماری قوم کے احمقوں نے یہ سب تیری آزمائش ہے بچلا دے اس میں جسکو تو چاہے اور سیدھا رکھے جس کو چاہے تو ہی ہے ہمارا تھامنے والا سو بخش دے ہم کو اور رحمت کر ہم پر اور تو سب سے بہتر بخشنے والا ہے [۱۸۸]

۞ وَٱكْتُبْ لَنَا فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ عَذَابِىٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنْ أَشَآءُ ۖ وَرَحْمَتِى وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢ ۚ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Waktub lanaa fee haazi hid dunyaa hasanatanw wa fil Aakhirati innnaa hudnaaa ilaik; qaala 'azaabee useebu bihee man ashaaa'u wa rahmatee wasi'at kulla shai'; fasa aktubuhaa lillazeena yattaqoona wa yu'toonaz Zakaata wallazeena hum bi Aayaatinaa yu'minoon

And ordain for us in this world that which is good, and in the Hereafter (that which is good), Lo! We have turned unto Thee. He said: I smite with My punishment whom I will, and My mercy embraceth all things, therefore I shall ordain it for those who ward off (evil) and pay the poor-due, and those who believe Our revelations;

اور لکھ دے ہمارےلئے اس دنیا میں بھلائی اور آخرت میں ہم نے رجوع کیا تیری طرف فرمایا میرا عذاب ڈالتا ہوں میں اسکو جس پر چاہوں اور میری رحمت شامل ہے ہر چیز کو سو اس کو لکھ دوں گا ان کے لئے جو ڈر رکھتے ہیں اور دیتے ہیں زکوٰۃ اور جو ہماری باتوں پر یقین رکھتے ہیں [۱۸۹]

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ ٱلْأُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ ۙ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Allazeena yattabi'oonar Rasoolan Nabiyyal ummiyyal lazee yajidoonahoo maktooban 'indahum fit Tawraati wal Injeeli yaa muruhum bilma'roofi wa yanhaahum 'anil munkari wa yuhillu lahumul taiyibaati wa yuharrimu 'alaihimul khabaaa'isa wa yada'u 'anhum israhum wal aghlaalal latee kaanat 'alaihim; fallazeena aamanoo bihee wa 'azzaroohu wa nnasaroohu wattaba'un nooral lazeee unzila ma'ahooo ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and honour him, and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful.

وہ لوگ جو پیروی کرتے ہیں اس رسول کی جو نبی امی ہے [۱۹۰] کہ جس کو پاتے ہیں لکھا ہوا اپنے پاس توریت اور انجیل میں [۱۹۱] وہ حکم کرتا ہے ان کو نیک کام کا اور منع کرتا ہے برے کام سے اور حلال کرتا ہے انکے لئے سب پاک چیزیں اور حرام کرتا ہے ان پر ناپاک چیزیں اور اتارتا ہے ان پر سے ان کے بوجھ اور وہ قیدیں جو ان پر تھیں [۱۹۲] سو جو لوگ اس پر ایمان لائے اور اسکی رفاقت کی اور اس کی مدد کی اور تابع ہوئے اس نور کے جو اسکے ساتھ اترا ہے [۱۹۳] وہی لوگ پہنچے اپنی مراد کو

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Qul yaaa aiyuhan naasu innee Rasoohul laahi ilaikum jamee'anil lazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu fa aaminoo billaahi wa Rasoolihin Nabiyyil ummiy yil lazee yu'minu billaahi wa Kalimaatihee wattabi'oohu la'allakum tahtadoon

Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah to you all - (the messenger of) Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. There is no Allah save Him. He quickeneth and He giveth death. So believe in Allah and His messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, who believeth in Allah and in His Words, and follow him that haply ye may be led aright.

تو کہہ اے لوگو میں رسول ہوں اللہ کا تم سب کی طرف جس کی حکومت ہے آسمانوں اور زمین میں کسی کی بندگی نہیں اسکےسوا وہی جلاتا ہے اور مارتا ہے سو ایمان لاؤ اللہ پر اور اس کے بھیجے ہوئے نبی امی پر جو کہ یقین رکھتا ہے اللہ پر اور اسکے سب کلاموں پر اور اسکی پیروی کرو تاکہ تم راہ پاؤ [۱۹۴]

وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌۭ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ

Wa min qawmi Moosaaa ummatuny yahdoona bilhaqqi wa bihee ya'diloon

And of Moses' folk there is a community who lead with truth and establish justice therewith.

اور موسٰی کی قوم میں ایک گروہ ہے جو راہ بتلاتے ہیں حق کی اور اسی کے موافق انصاف کرتے ہیں [۱۹۵]

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ ٱثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًۭا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ قَوْمُهُۥٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ ۖ فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًۭا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍۢ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْغَمَٰمَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

Wa qatta' naahumus natai 'ashrata asbaatan umamaa; wa awhainaa ilaa Moosaaa izis tasqaahu qawmuhooo anid rib bi'asaakal hajara fambajasat minhus nata 'ashrata 'ainan qad 'alima kullu unaasim mashrabahm; wa zallalnaa 'alaihimul ghammaamma wa anzalnaa 'alaihimul MManna was Salwaa kuloo min taiyibaati maa razaqnaakum; wa maa zalamoonaa wa laakin kaanooo anfusahum yazlimoon

We divided them into twelve tribes, nations; and We inspired Moses, when his people asked him for water, saying: Smite with thy staff the rock! And there gushed forth therefrom twelve springs, so that each tribe knew their drinking-place. And we caused the white cloud to overshadow them and sent down for them the manna and the quails (saying): Eat of the good things wherewith we have provided you. They wronged Us not, but they were wont to wrong themselves.

اور جدا جدا کر دیئے ہم نے ان کو بارہ دادوں کی اولاد بڑی بڑی جماعتیں [۱۹۶] اور حکم بھیجا ہم نے موسٰی کو جب پانی مانگا اس سے اس کی قوم نے کہ مار اپنی لاٹھی اس پتھر پر تو پھوٹ نکلے اس سے بارہ چشمے پہچان لیا ہر قبیلہ نے اپنا گھاٹ اور سایہ کیا ہم نے ان پر ابر کا اور اتارا ہم نے ان پر من اور سلویٰ کھاؤ ستھری چیزیں جو ہم نے روزی دی تم کو اور انہوں نے ہمارا کچھ نہ بگاڑا لیکن اپنا ہی نقصان کرتے رہے

وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ حِطَّةٌۭ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًۭا نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِكُمْ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Wa iz qeela lahumuskunoo haazihil qaryata wa kuloo minhaa haisu shi'tum wa qooloo hittatunw wadkhulul baaba sujjadan naghfir lakum khateee'aatikum; sanazeedul muhsineen

And when it was said unto them: Dwell in this township and eat therefrom whence ye will, and say "Repentance," and enter the gate prostrate; We shall forgive you your sins; We shall increase (reward) for the right-doers.

اور جب حکم ہوا ان کو کہ بسو اس شہر میں [۱۹۷] اور کھاؤ اس میں جہاں سے چاہو اور کہو ہم کو بخش دے اور داخل ہو دروازہ میں سجدہ کرتے ہوئے تو بخشدیں گے ہم تمہاری خطائیں البتہ زیادہ دیں گے ہم نیکی کرنے والوں کو [۱۹۸]

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

Fabaddalal lazeena zalamoo minhum qawlan ghairal lazee qeela lahum fa arsalnaa 'alaihim rijzam minas samaaa'i bimaa kaanoo yazlimoon

But those of them who did wrong changed the word which had been told them for another saying, and We sent down upon them wrath from heaven for their wrongdoing.

سو بدل ڈالا ظالموں نے ان میں سے دوسرا لفظ اسکے سوا جو ان سے کہہ دیا گیا تھا پھر بھیجا ہم نے ان پر عذاب آسمان سے بسبب ان کی شرارت کے [۱۹۹]

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًۭا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

Was'alhum 'anil qaryatil latee kaanat haadiratal bahri iz ya'doona fis Sabt iz taateehim heetaanuhum yawma Sabtihim shurra'anw wa yawma laa yasbitoona laa taateehim; kazaalika nabloohum bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

Ask them (O Muhammad) of the township that was by the sea, how they did break the Sabbath, how their big fish came unto them visibly upon their Sabbath day and on a day when they did not keep Sabbath came they not unto them. Thus did We try them for that they were evil-livers.

اور پوچھ ان سےحال اس بستی کا جو تھی دریا کے کنارے [۲۰۰] جب حد سے بڑھنے لگے ہفتہ کے حکم میں جب آنے لگیں انکے پاس مچھلیاں ہفتہ کے دن پانی کے اوپر اور جس دن ہفتہ نہ ہو تو نہ آتی تھیں اس طرح ہم نے ان کو آزمایا اس لئے کہ وہ نافرمان تھے [۲۰۱]

وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ ٱللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًۭا ۖ قَالُوا۟ مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ

Wa iz qaalat ummatum minhum lima ta'izoona qaw manil laahu muhlikuhum aw mu'azzibuhum 'azaaban shadeedan qaaloo ma'ziratan ilaa Rabbikum wa la'allahum tattaqoon

And when a community among them said: Why preach ye to a folk whom Allah is about to destroy or punish with an awful doom, they said: In order to be free from guilt before your Lord, and that haply they may ward off (evil).

اور جب بولا ان میں سے ایک فرقہ کیوں نصیحت کرتے ہو ان لوگوں کو جنکو اللہ چاہتا ہےکہ ہلاک کرے یا ان کو عذاب دے سخت [۲۰۲] وہ بولے الزام اتارنے کی غرض سے تمہارے رب کے آگے اور اسلئے کہ شاید وہ ڈریں [۲۰۳]

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلسُّوٓءِ وَأَخَذْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍۭ بَـِٔيسٍۭ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

Falammaa nasoo maa zukkiroo bihee anjainal lazeena yanhawna 'anis sooo'i wa akhaznal lazeena zalamoo bi'azaabim ba'eeim bimaa kaanooyafsuqoon

And when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded, We rescued those who forbade wrong, and visited those who did wrong with dreadful punishment because they were evil-livers.

پھر جب وہ بھول گئے اس کو جو انکو سمجھایا تھا تو نجات دی ہم نے ان کو جو منع کرتے تھے برے کام سے اور پکڑا گنہگاروں کو برے عذاب میں بسبب ان کی نافرمانی کے [۲۰۴]

فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا۟ عَن مَّا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا۟ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ

Falammaa 'ataw 'ammmaa nuhoo 'anhu qulna lahum kkoonoo qiradatan khaasi'een

So when they took pride in that which they had been forbidden, We said unto them: Be ye apes despised and loathed!

پھر جب بڑھنےلگےاس کام میں جس سے وہ روکے گئے تھے تو ہم نے حکم کیا کہ ہو جاؤ بندر ذلیل [۲۰۵]

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Wa iz ta azzana Rabbuka la yab'asannna 'alaihim ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati mai yasoomuhum sooo'al 'azaab; inna Rabbaka lasaree'ul 'iqaab; wa innahoo la Ghafoorur Raheem

And (remember) when thy Lord proclaimed that He would raise against them till the Day of Resurrection those who would lay on them a cruel torment. Lo! verily thy Lord is swift in prosecution and lo! verily He is Forgiving, Merciful.

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب خبر کر دی تھی تیرے رب نے کہ ضرور بھیجتا رہے گا یہود پر قیامت کے دن تک ایسے شخص کو کہ دیا کرے ان کو برا عذاب [۲۰۶] بیشک تیرا رب جلد عذاب کرنے والا ہے اور وہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے [۲۰۷]

وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًۭا ۖ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa qatta'naahum fil ardi umamam minhumus aalihoona wa min hum doona zaalika wa balawnaahum bilhasanaati wassaiyi aati la'allahum yarji'oon

And We have sundered them in the earth as (separate) nations. Some of them are righteous, and some far from that. And We have tried them with good things and evil things that haply they might return.

اور متفرق کر دیا ہم نے ان کو ملک میں فرقے فرقے [۲۰۸] بعضے ان میں نیک اور بعضے اور طرح کے اور ہم نے انکی آزمائش کی خوبیوں میں او ربرائیوں میں تاکہ وہ پھر آئیں [۲۰۹]

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌۭ وَرِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌۭ مِّثْلُهُۥ يَأْخُذُوهُ ۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِم مِّيثَٰقُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ ۗ وَٱلدَّارُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Fakhalafa mim ba'dihim khalfunw warisul Kitaaba yaa khuzoona 'arada haazal adnaa wa yaqooloona sayughfaru lanaa wa iny yaatihim 'aradum misluhoo yaakhuzooh; alam yu'khaz 'alaihim 'aradum misluhoo yaakhuzooh; alam yu'khaz 'alaihim meesaaqul Kitaabi al laa yaqooloo 'alal laahi illal haqqa wa darasoo maa feeh; wad Daarul Aakhirtu khairul lillazeena yattaqoon; afalaa ta'qiloon

And a generation hath succeeded them who inherited the scriptures. They grasp the goods of this low life (as the price of evil-doing) and say: It will be forgiven us. And if there came to them (again) the offer of the like, they would accept it (and would sin again). Hath not the covenant of the Scripture been taken on their behalf that they should not speak aught concerning Allah save the truth? And they have studied that which is therein. And the abode of the Hereafter is better, for those who ward off (evil). Have ye then no sense?

پھر ان کے پیچھے آئے ناخلف جو وارث بنے کتاب کے لے لیتے ہیں اسباب اس ادنیٰ زندگانی کا اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم کو معاف ہو جائے گا اور اگر ایسا ہی اسباب انکے سامنے پھر آئے تو اسکو لے لیویں [۲۱۰] کیا ان سے کتاب میں عہد نہیں لیا گیا کہ نہ بولیں اللہ پر سوا سچ کے اور انہوں نے پڑھا ہے جو کچھ اسمیں لکھا ہے اور آخرت کا گھر بہتر ہے ڈرنے والوں کے لئے کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں [۲۱۱]

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ

Wallazeena yumas sikoona bil Kitaabi wa aqaamus Salaata innaa laa nudee'uajral musliheen

And as for those who make (men) keep the Scripture, and establish worship - lo! We squander not the wages of reformers.

اور جو لوگ خوب پکڑ رہے ہیں کتاب کو اور قائم رکھتے ہیں نماز کو بیشک ہم ضائع نہ کریں گے ثواب نیکی والوں کا [۲۱۲]

۞ وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا ٱلْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُۥ ظُلَّةٌۭ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍۢ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

Wa iz nataqnal jabala fawqahum ka annahoo zullatunw wa zannooo annahoo waaqi'um bihim khuzoo maaa aatainaakum biquwwatinw wazkuroo maa feehi la'allakum tattaqoon

And when We shook the Mount above them as it were a covering, and they supposed that it was going to fall upon them (and We said): Hold fast that which We have given you, and remember that which is therein, that ye may ward off (evil).

اور جس وقت اٹھایا ہم نے پہاڑ ان کے اوپر مثل سائبان کے اور ڈرے کہ وہ ان پر گرے گا ہم نے کہا پکڑو جو ہم نے تم کو دیا ہے زور سے اور یاد رکھو جو اس میں ہے تاکہ تم بچتے رہو [۲۱۳]

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَآ ۛ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ

Wa iz akhaza Rabbuka mim Baneee Aadama min zuhoorihim zurriyyatahum wa ash hadahum 'alaa anfusihim alastu bi Rabbikum qaaloo balaa shahidnaaa; an taqooloo Yawmal Qiyaamati innaa kunnaa 'an haazaa ghaafileen

And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware;

اور جب نکالا تیرے رب نے بنی آدم کی پیٹھوں سے ان کی اولاد کو اور اقرار کرایا ان سے ان کی جانوں پر کیا میں نہیں ہوں تمہارا رب بولے ہاں ہے ہم اقرار کرتے ہیں کبھی کہنے لگو قیامت کے دن ہم کو تو اس کی خبر نہ تھی

أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةًۭ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ

Aw taqoolooo innamaaa ashraka aabaaa 'unaa min qablu wa kunnaa zurriyyatam mim ba'dihim afatuhlikunna bimaa fa'alal mubtiloon

Or lest ye should say: (It is) only (that) our fathers ascribed partners to Allah of old and we were (their) seed after them. Wilt Thou destroy us on account of that which those who follow falsehood did?

یا کہنے لگو کہ شرک تو نکالا تھا ہمارے باپ دادوں نے ہم سے پہلے اور ہم ہوئے انکی اولاد ان کے پیچھے تو کیا تو ہم کو ہلاک کرتا ہے اس کام پر جو کیا گمراہوں نے [۲۱۴]

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa kazaalika nufassihul Aayaati wa la'allahum yarji'oon

Thus we detail the revelations, that haply they may return.

اور یوں ہم کھول کر بیان کرتے ہیں باتیں تاکہ وہ پھر آئیں [۲۱۵]

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ

Watlu 'alaihim naba allazeee aatainaahu Aayaatinaa fansalakha minhaa fa atba'a hush Shaytaano fakaana minal ghaaween

Recite unto them the tale of him to whom We gave Our revelations, but he sloughed them off, so Satan overtook him and he became of those who lead astray.

اور سنا دے ان کو حال اس شخص کا جسکو ہم نے دی تھیں اپنی آیتیں پھر وہ انکو چھوڑ نکلا پھر اس کے پیچھےلگا شیطان تو وہ ہو گیا گمراہوں میں

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ۚ ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ۚ فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Wa law shi'naa larafa'naahu bihaa wa laakin nahooo akhlada ilal ardi watta ba'a hawaah; famasaluhoo kamasalil kalb; in tahmil 'alaihi yalhas aw tatruk hu yalhas; zaalika masalul qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; faqsusil qasasa la'allahum yatafakkaroon

And had We willed We could have raised him by their means, but he clung to the earth and followed his own lust. Therefor his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out, and if thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out. Such is the likeness of the people who deny Our revelations. Narrate unto them the history (of the men of old), that haply they may take thought.

اور ہم چاہتے تو بلند کرتے اس کا رتبہ ان آیتوں کی بدولت لیکن وہ تو ہو رہا زمین کا اور پیچھے ہو لیا اپنی خواہش کے تو اس کا حال ایسا جیسے کتا اس پر تو بوجھ لادے تو ہانپے اور چھوڑ دے تو ہانپے یہ مثال ہے ان لوگوں کی جنہوں نے جھٹلایا ہماری آیتوں کو سو بیان کر یہ احوال تاکہ وہ دھیان کریں [۲۱۶]

سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

Saaa'a masalanil qawmul lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa anfusahum kaanoo yazlimoon

Evil as an example are the folk who denied Our revelations, and were wont to wrong themselves.

بری مثال ہے ان لوگوں کی کہ جھٹلایا انہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو اور وہ اپنا ہی نقصان کرتے رہے [۲۱۷]

مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

mai yahdil laahu fa huwal muhtadee wa mai yudlil fa ulaaa'ika humul khaasiroon

He whom Allah leadeth, he indeed is led aright, while he whom Allah sendeth astray - they indeed are losers.

جس کو اللہ رستہ دے وہی رستہ پاوے اور جس کو وہ بچلا دے سو وہی ہیں ٹوٹے میں [۲۱۸]

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌۭ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌۭ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌۭ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

Wa laqad zaraanaa li jahannama kaseeram minal jinni wal insi lahum quloobul laa yafqahoona bihaa wa lahum a'yunul laa yubisiroona bihaa wa lahum aazaanul laa yasma'oona bihaa; ulaaa'ika kal an'aami bal hum adall; ulaaa'ika humul ghaafiloon

Already have We urged unto hell many of the jinn and humankind, having hearts wherewith they understand not, and having eyes wherewith they see not, and having ears wherewith they hear not. These are as the cattle - nay, but they are worse! These are the neglectful.

اور ہم نے پیدا کئے دوزخ کے واسطے بہت سے جن اور آدمی [۲۱۹] انکے دل ہیں کہ ان سے سمجھتے نہیں اور آنکھیں ہیں کہ ان سے دیکھتے نہیں اور کان ہیں کہ ان سےسنتے نہیں وہ ایسے ہیں جیسے چوپائے بلکہ ان سے بھی زیادہ بیراہ وہی لوگ ہیں غافل [۲۲۰]

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Wa lillaahil Asmaaa 'ul Husnaa fad'oohu bihaa wa zarul lazeena yulhidoona feee Asmaaa'ih; sa yujzawna maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Allah's are the fairest names. Invoke Him by them. And leave the company of those who blaspheme His names. They will be requited what they do.

اور اللہ کےلئے ہیں سب نام اچھے سو اسکو پکارو وہی نام کہہ کر اور چھوڑ دو انکو جو کج راہ چلتے ہیں اس کے ناموں میں وہ بدلہ پا رہیں گے اپنے کئے کا [۲۲۱]

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌۭ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ

Wa mimman khalaqnaaa ummatuny yahdoona bilhaqqi wa bihee ya'diloon

And of those whom We created there is a nation who guide with the Truth and establish justice therewith.

اور ان لوگوں میں کہ جنکو ہم نے پیدا کیا ہے ایک جماعت ہے کہ راہ بتلاتے ہیں سچی اور اسی کے موافق انصاف کرتےہیں [۲۲۲]

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa sanastadrijuhum min haisu laa ya'lamoon

And those who deny Our revelations - step by step We lead them on from whence they know not.

اور جنہوں نے جھٹلایا ہماری آیتوں کو ہم ان کو آہستہ آہستہ پکڑیں گے ایسی جگہ سےجہاں سے انکو خبر بھی نہ ہو گی

وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ

Wa umlee lahum; inna kaidee mateen

I give them rein (for) lo! My scheme is strong.

اور میں انکو ڈھیل دوں گا بیشک میرا داؤ پکا ہے [۲۲۳]

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ ۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ

Awalam yatafakkaroo maa bisaahibihim min jinnah; in huwa illaa nazeerum mubeen

Have they not bethought them (that) there is no madness in their comrade? He is but a plain warner.

کیا انہوں نے دھیان نہیں کیا کہ ان کے رفیق کو کچھ بھی جنون نہیں وہ تو ڈرانے والا ہے صاف

أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍۢ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Awalam yanzuroo fee malakootis samaawaati wal ardi wa maa khalaqal laahu min shai'inw wa an 'asaaa ai yakoona qadiqtaraba ajaluhum fabi aiyi hadeesim ba'dahoo yu'minoon

Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what things Allah hath created, and that it may be that their own term draweth nigh? In what fact after this will they believe?

کیا انہوں نے نظر نہیں کی سلطنت میں آسمان اور زمین کی اور جو کچھ پیدا کیا ہے اللہ نے ہر چیز سے اور اس میں کہ شاید قریب آ گیا ہو ان کا وعدہ [۲۲۴] سو اس کے پیچھے کس بات پر ایمان لائیں گے [۲۲۵]

مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِىَ لَهُۥ ۚ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

Mai yadlilil laahu falaa haadiyaa lah; wa yazaruhum fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon

Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.

جس کو اللہ بچلائے اس کو کوئی نہیں راہ دکھلانے والا اور اللہ چھوڑے رکھتا ہے انکو ان کی شرارت میں سرگرداں [۲۲۶]

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى ۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ ثَقُلَتْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةًۭ ۗ يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِىٌّ عَنْهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Yas'aloonaka 'anis Saa'ati aiyaana mursaahaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabbee laa yujallaeehaa liwaqtihaaa illaa Hoo; saqulat fis samaawaati wal ard; laa taateekum illaa baghtah; yas'aloonaka ka annaka hafiyyun 'anhaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya'lamoon

They ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to port. Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not.

تجھ سے پوچھتے ہیں قیامت کو کہ کب ہے اسکے قائم ہونے کا وقت تو کہہ اسکی خبر تو میرے رب ہی کے پاس ہے وہی کھول دکھائے گا اس کو اسکے وقت پر وہ بھاری بات ہے آسمانوں اور زمین میں جب تم پر آئے گی تو بیخبر آئے گی [۲۲۷] تجھ سے پوچھنے لگتے ہیں کہ گویا تو اسکی تلاش میں لگا ہوا ہے تو کہہ دے اس کی خبر ہے خاص اللہ کے پاس لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں سمجھتے [۲۲۸]

قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًۭا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُ ۚ إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ وَبَشِيرٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Qul laaa amliku linafsee naf'anw wa laa darran illaa maa shaaa'al laah; wa law kuntu a'alamul ghaiba lastaksartu minal khairi wa maa massaniyas soo'; in ana illaa nazeerunw wa basheerul liqawminy yu'minoon

Say: For myself I have no power to benefit, nor power to hurt, save that which Allah willeth. Had I knowledge of the Unseen, I should have abundance of wealth, and adversity would not touch me. I am but a warner, and a bearer of good tidings unto folk who believe.

تو کہہ دے کہ میں مالک نہیں اپنی جان کے بھلے کا اور نہ برے کا مگر جو اللہ چاہے اور اگر میں جان لیا کرتا غیب کی بات تو بہت کچھ بھلائیاں حاصل کر لیتا اور مجھ کو برائی کبھی نہ پہنچتی [۲۲۹] میں تو بس ڈر اور خوشخبری سنانے والا ہوں ایماندار لوگوں کو

۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًۭا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَٰلِحًۭا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

Huwal lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw wa ja'ala minhaa zawjahaa liyas kuna ilaihaa falammaa taghash shaahaa hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihee falammaaa asqalad da'awal laaha Rabbahumaa la'in aayaitanaa saalihal lanakoo nanna minash shaakireen

He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful.

وہی ہے جس نے تم کو پیدا کیا ایک جان سے اور اسی سے بنایا اس کا جوڑا تاکہ اسکے پاس آرام پکڑے پھر جب مرد نے عورت کو ڈھانکا حمل رہا ہلکا سا حمل تو چلتی پھرتی رہی اسکے ساتھ پھر جب بوجھل ہو گئ تو دونوں نے پکارا اللہ اپنے رب کو کہ اگر تو ہم کو بخشے چنگا بھلا تو ہم تیرا شکر کریں

فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَٰلِحًۭا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚ فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Falammaaa aataahumaa saalihan ja'alaa lahoo shurakaaa'a feemaaa aataahumaa; fata'aalal laahu 'ammaa yushrikoon

But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him).

پھر جب ان کو دیا چنگا بھلا تو بنانے لگے اسکے لئے شریک اسکی بخشی ہوئی چیز میں سو اللہ برتر ہے انکے شریک بنانے سے [۲۳۰]

أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ

A yushrikoona maa laa yakhluqu shai'anw wa hum yukhlaqoon

Attribute they as partners to Allah those who created naught, but are themselves created,

کیا شریک بناتے ہیں ایسوں کو جو پیدا نہ کریں ایک چیز بھی اور وہ پیدا ہوئے ہیں [۲۳۱]

وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًۭا وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ

Wa laa yastatee'oona lahum nasranw wa laaa anfusahum yansuroon

And cannot give them help, nor can they help themselves?

اور نہیں کر سکتے ہیں ان کی مدد اور نہ اپنی مدد کریں

وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمْ ۚ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ أَمْ أَنتُمْ صَٰمِتُونَ

Wa in tad'oohum ilalhudaa laa yattabi'ookum; sawaaa'un 'alaikum a-da'awtumoohum am antum saamitoon

And if ye call them to the Guidance, they follow you not. Whether ye call them or are silent is all one for you.

اور اگر تم ان کو پکارو رستہ کی طرف تو نہ چلیں تمہاری پکار پر برابر ہے تم پر کہ ان کو پکارو یا چپکے رہو

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖ فَٱدْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Innal lazeena tad'oona min doonil laahi 'ibaadun amsaalukum fad'oohum fal yastajeeboo lakum in kuntum saadiqeen

Lo! those on whom ye call beside Allah are slaves like unto you. Call on them now, and let them answer you, if ye are truthful!

جن کو تم پکارتے ہو اللہ کے سوا وہ بندے ہیں تم جیسے بھلا پکارو تو ان کو پس چاہیئے کہ وہ قبول کریں تمہارے پکارنے کو اگر تم سچے ہو

أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌۭ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍۢ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌۭ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌۭ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۗ قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

A lahum arjuluny yamshoona bihaa am lahum aidiny yabtishoona bihaaa am lahum a'yunuy yubsiroona bihaaa am lahum aazaanuny yasma'oona bihaa; qulid'oo shurakaaa'akum summa keedooni falaa tunziroon

Have they feet wherewith they walk, or have they hands wherewith they hold, or have they eyes wherewith they see, or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say: Call upon your (so-called) partners (of Allah), and then contrive against me, spare me not!

کیا انکے پاؤں ہیں جن سے چلتے ہیں یا ان کے ہاتھ ہیں جن سے پکڑتے ہیں یا ان کے آنکھیں ہیں جن سے دیکھتے ہیں یا ان کے کان ہیں جن سے سنتے ہیں تو کہہ دے کہ پکارو اپنے شریکوں کو پھر برائی کرو میرے حق میں اور مجھ کو ڈھیل نہ دو [۲۳۲]

إِنَّ وَلِۦِّىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ۖ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Inna waliyyial laahul lazee nazzalal Kitaaba wa Huwa yatawallas saaliheen

Lo! my Protecting Friend is Allah Who revealeth the Scripture. He befriendeth the righteous.

میرا حمایتی تو اللہ ہے جس نے اتاری کتاب اور وہ حمایت کرتا ہے نیک بندوں کی [۲۳۳]

وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ

Wallazeena tad'oona min doonihee laa yastatee'oona nasrakum wa laaa anfusahum yansuroon

They on whom ye call beside Him have no power to help you, nor can they help you, nor can they help themselves.

اور جن کو تم پکارتے ہو اس کے سوا وہ نہیں کر سکتے تمہاری مدد اور نہ اپنی جان بچا سکیں

وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ ۖ وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

Wa in tad'oohum ilal hudaa laa yasm'oo wa taraahum yanzuroona ilaika wa hum laa yubsiroon

And if ye (Muslims) call them to the guidance they hear not; and thou (Muhammad) seest them looking toward thee, but they see not.

اور اگر تم ان کو پکارو رستہ کی طرف تو کچھ نہ سنیں اور تو دیکھتا ہے انکو کہ تک رہے ہیں تیری طرف اور وہ کچھ نہیں دیکھتے [۲۳۴]

خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ

khuzil 'afwa waamur bil'urfi waa'rid 'anil jaahileen

Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.

عادت کر درگذر کی اور حکم کر نیک کام کرنے کا اور کنارہ کر جاہلوں سے

وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ نَزْغٌۭ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Wa immaa yanzaghannaka minash Shaitaani nazghun fasta'iz billaah; innahoo Samee'un Aleem

And if a slander from the devil wound thee, then seek refuge in Allah. Lo! He is Hearer, Knower.

اور اگر ابھارے تجھ کو شیطان کی چھیڑ تو پناہ مانگ اللہ سے وہی ہےسننے والا جاننے والا [۲۳۵]

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَٰٓئِفٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ تَذَكَّرُوا۟ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ

Innal lazeenat taqaw izaa massahum taaa'ifum minash Shaitaani tazakkaroo fa izaa hum mubsiroon

Lo! those who ward off (evil), when a glamour from the devil troubleth them, they do but remember (Allah's Guidance) and behold them seers!

جن کے دل میں ڈر ہے جہاں پڑ گیا ان پر شیطان کا گذر چونک گئے پھر اسی وقت ان کو سوجھ آ جاتی ہے

وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ يَمُدُّونَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغَىِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُونَ

Wa ikhwaanuhum yamuddoonahum fil ghaiyi summa laa yuqsiroon

Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not.

اور جو شیطانوں کے بھائی ہیں وہ انکو کھینچتے چلے جاتے ہیں گمراہی میں پھر وہ کمی نہیں کرتے [۲۳۶]

وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِـَٔايَةٍۢ قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ مِن رَّبِّى ۚ هَٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Wa izaa lam taatihim bi aayatin qaaloo law lajtabai tahaa; qul innamaaa attabi'u maa yoohaaa ilaiya mir Rabbee; haazaa basaaa'iru mir Rabbikum wa hudanw wa rahmatul liqawminy yu'minoon

And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe.

اور جب تو لیکر نہ جائے انکے پاس کوئی نشانی تو کہتے ہیں کیوں نہ چھانٹ لایا تو کچھ اپنی طرف سے تو کہہ دے میں تو چلتا ہوں اس پر جو حکم آئے میری طرف میرے رب سے یہ سوجھ کی باتیں ہیں تمہارے رب کی طرف سے اور ہدایت اور رحمت ہے ان لوگوں کو جو مومن ہیں [۲۳۷]

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

Wa izaa quri'al Quraanu fastami'oo lahoo wa ansitoo la 'allakum turhamoon

And when the Qur'an is recited, give ear to it and pay heed, that ye may obtain mercy.

اور جب قرآن پڑھا جائے تو اس کی طرف کان لگائے رہو اور چپ رہو تاکہ تم پر رحم ہو [۲۳۸]

وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًۭا وَخِيفَةًۭ وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْءَاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ

Wazkur Rabbaka fee nafsika tadarru'anw wa kheefatanw wa doonal jahri minal qawli bilghuduwwi wal aasali wa laa takum minal ghaafileen

And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful.

اور یاد کرتا رہ اپنے رب کو اپنے دل میں گڑگڑاتا ہوا اور ڈرتا ہوا اور ایسی آواز سے جو کہ پکار کر بولنے سے کم ہو [۲۳۹] صبح کے وقت اور شام کے وقت اور مت رہ بے خبر

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسْجُدُونَ ۩

Innal lazeena 'inda Rabbika laa yastakbiroona 'an 'ibaadatihee wa yusabbihoonahoo wa lahoo yasjudoon

Lo! those who are with thy Lord are not too proud to do Him service, but they praise Him and prostrate before Him.

بیشک جو تیرے رب کے نزدیک ہیں وہ تکبر نہیں کرتے اس کی بندگی سے اور یاد کرتے ہیں اسکی پاک ذات کو اور اسی کو سجدہ کرتے ہیں [۲۴۰]
