At-Takwir

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

Izash shamsu kuwwirat

When the sun is overthrown,

جب سورج کی دھوپ تہہ ہو جائے [۱]

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ

Wa izan nujoomun kadarat

And when the stars fall,

اور جب تارے میلے ہو جائیں [۲]

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ

Wa izal jibaalu suyyirat

And when the hills are moved,

اور جب پہاڑ چلائے جائیں [۳]

وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ

Wa izal 'ishaaru 'uttilat

And when the camels big with young are abandoned,

اور جب بیاتی اونٹنیاں چھٹی پھریں [۴]

وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ

Wa izal wuhooshu hushirat

And when the wild beasts are herded together,

اور جب جنگل کے جانوروں میں رول پڑ جائے [۵]

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ

Wa izal bihaaru sujjirat

And when the seas rise,

اور جب دریا جھونکے جائیں [۶]

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ

Wa izan nufoosu zuwwijat

And when souls are reunited,

اور جب جیوں کے جوڑے باندھے جائیں [۷]

وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ

Wa izal maw'oodatu su'ilat

And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked

اور جب بیٹی جیتی گاڑ دی گئ کو پوچھیں

بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍۢ قُتِلَتْ

Bi ayyi zambin qutilat

For what sin she was slain,

کہ کس گناہ پر وہ ماری گئ [۸]

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ

Wa izas suhufu nushirat

And when the pages are laid open,

اور جب اعمالنامے کھولے جائیں

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ

Wa izas samaaa'u kushitat

And when the sky is torn away,

اور جب آسمان کا پوست اتار لیں [۹]

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ

Wa izal jaheemu su'-'irat

And when hell is lighted,

اور جب دوزخ دہکائی جائے

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ

Wa izal jannatu uzlifat

And when the Garden is brought nigh,

اور جب بہشت پاس لائی جائے [۱۰]

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ

'Alimat nafsum maaa ahdarat

(Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready.

جان لے گا ہر ایک جی جو لے کر آیا [۱۱]

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ

Falaaa uqsimu bil khunnas

Oh, but I call to witness the planets,

سو قسم کھاتا ہوں میں پیچھے ہٹ جانے والوں

ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ

Al jawaaril kunnas

The stars which rise and set,

سیدھے چلنے دبک جانے والوں کی [۱۲]

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ

Wallaili izaa 'as'as

And the close of night,

اور رات کی جب پھیل جائے [۱۳]

وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ

Wassubhi izaa tanaffas

And the breath of morning

اور صبح کی جب دم بھرے [۱۴]

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ

Innahoo laqawlu rasoolin kareem

That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger,

مقرر یہ کہا ہے ایک بھیجے ہوئے عزت والے کا

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍۢ

Zee quwwatin 'inda zil 'arshi makeen

Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne,

قوت والا عرش کے مالک کے پاس درجہ پانے والا

مُّطَاعٍۢ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍۢ

Mutaa'in samma ameen

(One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy;

سب کا مانا ہوا وہاں کا معتبر [۱۵]

وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍۢ

Wa maa saahibukum bimajnoon

And your comrade is not mad.

اور یہ تمہارا رفیق کچھ دیوانہ نہیں [۱۶]

وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ

Wa laqad ra aahu bilufuqil mubeen

Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon.

اور اس نے دیکھا ہے اُس فرشتہ کو آسمان کے کھلے کنارہ کے پاس [۱۷]

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍۢ

Wa maa huwa 'alal ghaibi bidaneen

And he is not avid of the Unseen.

اور یہ غیب کی بات بتانے میں بخیل نہیں [۱۸]

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ رَّجِيمٍۢ

Wa maa huwa biqawli shaitaanir rajeem

Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned.

اور یہ کہا ہوا نہیں کسی شیطان مردود کا [۱۹]

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ

Fa ayna tazhaboon

Whither then go ye?

پھر تم کدھر چلے جا رہے ہو [۲۰]

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ

In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen

This is naught else than a reminder unto creation,

یہ تو ایک نصیحت ہے جہان بھر کے واسطے [۲۱]

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ

Liman shaaa'a minkum ai yastaqeem

Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight.

جو کوئی چاہے تم میں سے کہ سیدھا چلے [۲۲]

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaaa ai yashaaa 'al laahu Rabbul 'Aalameen

And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation.

اور تم جبھی چاہو کہ چاہے اللہ سارے جہان کا مالک [۲۳]
