At-Taariq

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

Wassamaaa'i wattaariq

By the heaven and the Morning Star

قسم ہے آسمان کی اور اندھیری میں آنے والے کی

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

- Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is!

اور تو نے کیا سمجھاکیا ہے اندھیرے میں آنے والا

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

Annajmus saaqib

- The piercing Star!

وہ تارا چمکتا ہوا

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌۭ

In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

No human soul but hath a guardian over it.

کوئی جی نہیں جس پر نہیں ایک نگہبان

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

So let man consider from what he is created.

اب دیکھ لے آدمی کہ کاہے سے بنا ہے [۱]

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍۢ دَافِقٍۢ

Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

He is created from a gushing fluid

بنا ہے ایک اچھلتے ہوئے پانی سے [۲]

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

That issued from between the loins and ribs.

جو نکلتا ہے پیٹھ کے بیچ سے اور چھاتی کے بیچ سے [۳]

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌۭ

Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)

بیشک وہ اُسکو پھیر لا سکتا ہے [۴]

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out.

جس دن جانچے جائیں بھید [۵]

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍۢ وَلَا نَاصِرٍۢ

Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

Then will he have no might nor any helper.

تو کچھ نہ ہو گا اُسکو زور اور نہ کوئی مدد کرنے والا [۶]

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ

Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

By the heaven which giveth the returning rain,

قسم ہے آسمان چکر مارنے والے کی [۷]

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ

Wal ardi zaatis sad'

And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)

اور زمین پھوٹ نکلنے والی کی [۸]

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌۭ فَصْلٌۭ

Innahoo laqawlun fasl

Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,

بیشک یہ بات ہے دوٹوک

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ

Wa maa huwa bil hazl

It is no pleasantry.

اور نہیں یہ بات ہنسی کی [۹]

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا

Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)

البتہ وہ لگے ہوئے ہیں ایک داؤ کرنے میں

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًۭا

Wa akeedu kaidaa

And I plot a plot (against them).

اور میں لگا ہوا ہوں ایک داؤ کرنے میں

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا

Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.

سو ڈھیل دے منکروں کو ڈھیل دے اُنکو تھوڑے دنوں [۱۰]
